I haven't been paying much attention to the Halloween tome, but what I'm gathering about this challenge is that:
The survivor shouldn't do the objective to avoid filling up on void essence
They also need to wait for them to hook someone or kick a pumpkin
They then need to put themselves at risk by stunning the killer and HOPE that they didn't deposit the void essence beforehand
Is... Is this right? Because if so, what an absolutely horrid challenge. What is actually wrong with BHVR?

Ahh people ask for proof. I want to deliver and people shame me. Can't win hahaha, that's the true sad thing.
Woe is you

Pig with no perks or add ons, just make sure you don't use your traps

An excellent first post

Franklin's isn't that bad.
What's more, if you want people to read your essay on why a decent tier perk is bad, you should consider more line breaks and less ranting.

I’m only giving you one example. Also, going back to the “turning off chat” we could say the same and suggest that those people you talk about just not play the game. Why would anyone with bad anxiety want to play an anxiety ridden game?
You are trying to squeeze every bit of an excuse into something that really isn’t that impactful, when you think about the rest of the things the game has which could also jeopardize one’s mental health. Not to mention the fact that the Battlepass is already doing this.
It's not impactful for you and me, but it's impactful for someone. But why should we care, yeah?
And suggesting people not play the game because it might prey on their anxieties is an awful, gatekeeping method of thinking. Very abhorrent.

If Mental issues are your worries there are other things that exist within the game that actually affect mental issues. Those which are free and do not cost money.
I can’t believe you are actually bringing up the topic of mental health to support your own argument against exclusivity. All when last I checked, the game’s own community is doing a pretty fine job to make sure that those with mental issues have the worst possible experience.
I’ll give you one example: Post match chat.
The outcry on this is unbelievable. Then again color me not surprised.
Nobody is pressuring you into reading post game chat. A message thrown at you saying "If you don't waste 20 bucks on this right now" when you boot up the game can easily be used to manipulate those with anxiety issues or spending addictions. I myself deal with these issues, I know how it works.
In regards to post game chat, while post game abuse is a very real issue that needs acknowledging, you can simply turn it off. There's no pressure to leave it on. BHVR isn't pushing a "turn the chat on or miss out" message at you.
Once more, exclusivity isn't the issue. Underhanded business tactics that only exist to squeeze money out of the more vulnerable players are.

Limited edition stuff is cool. Not everyone should get everything. I see zero issue here and would love to see more of it. I'd love to have things that were more rare or even unique that aren't obtainable. The real problem is this sense of entitlement that you (not necessarily you specifically) seem to think you deserve the ability to have everything everyone else has.
I'd love more with limited time challenges that reward unique cosmetics for accomplishing them. Just more things to make people have things that are actually special.
"Not everyone should get everything" is fine, and I don't care about limited stuff in general. The problem here is that they're specifically, and knowingly, engaging in a business practice made to prey on people with mental health issues.

How dare a cheap game with constant, regular updates and content offer something that makes them money?! It's despicable! Who would want to support a game they play all the time and ensure it continues to keep running? Where're the torches? I've got some pitchforks around here somewhere...
This is a very shallow way of looking at it, no offence. The issue here is that "limited time" cosmetics only serve to prey on people and manipulate them into spending their money. This isn't about supporting the game you like, this is about the devs using underhanded, dirty tactics to manipulate people into giving them money. Someone who suffers from addiction or a mental condition like anxiety can see "limited edition, you'll never see it again" and panic into spending money on the non-refundable cosmetic. Now that would be one thing, but fact is: the people who implement these kinds of tactics do it anyway, SPECIFICALLY to manipulate these people into giving them money, and they simply don't care.
-
Agreed, though if I can be pessimistic... you know people are going to whale on these things regardless.

Fun to me. I loop the killer if he commits, usually lose him and make him give up. Either gens get done or they don't, I still escape match. win
Well, that's fair enough
-
That... doesn't sound like a fun build at all...
-
People really need to get over themselves.
-
I feel like someone was assigned this, played a couple hours and gave their immediate first impressions. I still have no idea how they put Trapper at A tier, though.
-
I love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
-
You don't have to win to have fun. You got a decent amount of BPs, second highest in the game, which suggests that you weren't exactly steamrolled.
-
The side chick to my main ho: FFXIV

Hey, Trapper mains. Stop using your traps.

With the amount of things we'd lose with the upcoming mandatory moris, I feel like getting rid of add ons would just make games feel even more bland.

Mm, now that's a spicy take

He really doesn’t look that thin at all.
and I would take edgy teen girl over Trickster. While he seems thin to you, he is muscular. And creepy serial killer mask? Are you serious? Most of their masks look pretty cheap actually
It's more that masks are inherently creepy, as hiding your face is often considered such and usually triggers uncertainty in peoples' minds. Well, while I disagree with your opinion, I respect it regardless.

So. How does Suzie -an edgy teenage girl with a mask and a knife- make the cut but somehow Trickster (Kpop btw) -a sadistical serial killer, taunting his victims and having experience in torturing and killing while loving the spotlight- doesn’t? It’s not even Suzie alone but all Legion members. And even other killers - Ghostface doesnt make that much more sense either if you think more than 1 second about him and the outfit.
edit: is Trickster actually a twink? Seems way too old and muscular (yeah not bodybuilder muscular but still..) for that term imo?
He's twinky enough for me to consider him one. I've heard the "Legion doesn't fit either" argument a lot, but let me put it this way... If you were walking down the street at night and saw one of the Legion dressed in their hoody and their creepy serial killer mask, and on the other side of the street saw a rather thin man dressed in an open shirt and tacky pants, which would intimidate you the most? Even if the Trickster had his lightsaber vwoom baseball bat with him, he still looks like a strong gust would blow him over.
-
It was dead the moment we got a j pop twink as a killer
-
That achievement needs to be gutted and thrown in a ditch somewhere. Worthless thing.

He's far from incredibly weak unless you're of the opinion that everyone who isn't Nurse or Blight is incredibly weak. He's right in the middle and definitely usable.
He's pretty weak. Not Pig weak, but pretty middle of the road. Maybe I exaggerated a bit
-
Cenobite is an incredibly weak killer. Just let them get some reward out of using their power, dude.
-
The smells a bit too much like "Killers are the survivors' playthings" to me...
-
Leave me alone, I'm self caring through sloppy

Play with friends. Intentionally go down under a pallet, or bring flashlights and go down in an open area where the killer cannot face a wall. Profit.
Clearly the solution is to remove SWFs, then

It does make me wonder how far they'll go with basekit perks. Basekit DS next? Dead Hard? NOED for the killer side? Seems silly
-
It's business speak. They are a business.
-
This is so sad. Alexa, play Despacito
-
Basekit Dead Hard? Sure thing, fam.
-
I'm really going to miss photobombing Ghostface
-
I don't remember saying that. Did all killers say that? Must be having some bad memory problems.
-
I was thinking the same thing. The Twins are already dead, BHVR is just jumping on their corpse at this point.

No Mither

This has been happening to me too! I made like two threads about it a while ago, but nobody replied, and I thought I was out of my mind. Glad to see other people are seeing this, too... I guess...?

Ah, yes. The big, manly man's game of Dead by Daylight.

What the actual hell are you talking about

They did not? Evil Dead is more of a Left for Dead clone only a player is the "director" instead to make it asymmetrical.
That being said, I do agree that making it a pvp, especially a paid one, was a terrible decision.
Oh, I've always heard of it as a DbD-like. Huh... Sounds more like that one Resident Evil multiplayer mode from a while back.

@Neamy said:
Played evil dead for a while. Gets super boring cause it’s the same thing over and over, you know what people have with the characters they bring. And the setup being the evil one is so tedious
I haven't played Evil Dead myself, but surely "the same thing over and over" isn't too different from DbD?
-
Maybe a bit too oversensitive, no? Who cares? The fourth surv gets hatch? Good for them, get over it and move on.
-
Four free kills, you say?

This trial is full of gens! How can you sit there and self-care?!
