Or we add the feature and balance everything else around it knowing that all players are now on an even playing field, or have the option to be on one, if it's kept as an opt-in feature like the visual tr will be.
Again though, you are missing the point. It would be effectively removing a part of the game's design for the worse, making it less skillful.

It's really crazy how Myers has been left in the dust. He's received barely any updates since his release, despite being so underpowered. Why is such an iconic killer so bad.
Even his model hasnt been updated, despite looking like ass. Laurie and Haddonfield got visual overhauls, why not Mikey?
-
Why would they bother making cosmetics for a Survivor that nobody plays? Might as well ask "hey where are all the Twins cosmetics?"
-
Yeah, as Jesterkind has said, Knight already has a built-in anti-camping mechanic. It's just that some Survivors dont actually seem to know it exists. I've seen so many Survivors just leave me hanging on a hook waiting for the guard patrol to disappear while Knight is halfway across the map, not knowing that guards dissipate if you unhook somebody. Some people really need to actually read power descriptions.
-
I mean its slightly annoying that it doesnt count towards challenges, but also how often do you actually face P.Head. He's just one killer out of many.
And even then, it's not like he can use cages exclusively. Unless the Survivors are just constantly running into torment trails, he's gonna have to use hooks too.

I think accessibility options are good most of the time, but only if they dont make things worse for everybody else, which is exactly what this would do. Being able to detect subtle sounds like footsteps or breathing is a skill core to the game, and adding subtitles or visuals for that stuff would remove the skill from it, because pretty much everyone would use it even if they aren't hearing-impaired. Making the game worse for absolutely everyone else just to accommodate a very, very small percentage of people. It would be like outlawing peanut butter worldwide just because a very small percentage of people are allergic.
If this was a singleplayer game, there would be absolutley no issue with adding accessibility options like that, and would be a absolutely fantastic addition, but this is a multiplayer game, so changes like that affect everybody, even those who dont have the option enabled, and in this particular case, it would be affecting them for the worse.
-
They probably werent cheating, it's just a very poorly thought-out mechanic.

Again, make other exhaustion perks more useful, I'd rather bring other exhaustion perks but most of then have too many caveats to be useful when you actually need them.
The other exhaustion perks are plenty useful and dont need any kind of buffs. In fact, most of them need nerfs. Dead Hard is just the absolute top of them. The only two that are somewhat reasonably close to balanced are Smash Hit and Overcome.
DH has already had it's issues discussed to death in the rest of this thread, so I wont go over it again.
SB, Lithe, and BL all are very strong speed boosts that allow you to easily waste an additional half a generator or more worth of the Killer's time pretty much every single time you get into chase.
Head-On is a bit more niche in solo play, but still okay. In SWF on the other hand it's crazy good because you can communicate to set up "ambushes" to completely ruin the Killer's chances of catching somebody.

Just don't get DHed :)
Ah okay, so you have zero argument, got it.
-
Honestly I'm kind of shocked that we havent gotten any new crow perks. Calm Spirit and Spies are the only ones, and they are -base game-.
Like we literally got a crow-themed Killer and none of the perks that came with her have anything to do with crows.

Well since you said "just tap on reaction" ima answer back with " just don't get DHed as killer"
What are you even talking about. Killer starts their swing, you press button. It's as simple as that. It's easily the most overpowered perk in the game. It's description might as well just be "you have an additional health state".

Which also means you might not pull it off,, there sre cases where it's stronger and there are cases where it's not even close
Not really. It's trivially easy to pull off. Just tap the button on reaction, or use it as you approach a pallet to force a lose-lose situation on the Killer where if they swing, you zoom across the map with the dead hard boost, and if they dont swing you get to drop the pallet.
It's not hard.
-
He's still terrible.

DH was already massively nerfed
It wasnt. New DH is stronger than old DH, they just made it take slightly more skill to use.

After over 300hrs in this game playing a mix of killer and survivor I’m really on the edge of letting this game go.
now don’t get me wrong, a coordinated swf is very powerful but I mostly play solo queue like many others.
the problem is that in solo queue you have no idea what other people are doing, their is no coordination at all. Unless one of the survivors is amazing at looping or the killer is a newbie. You will die 10/10 matches.
playing as a killer for the last couple months I’ve never had a game where I didn’t get less than 3 kills. It’s just so easy to win. I enjoy survivor more because it’s much more challenging, albeit too much.
i think what this game lacked from the beginning was a way to communicate with other survivors. Having a voice chat even if it is just proximity chat would have been critical to this game being able to bring new players in for the long term.
swf can communicate and killers can still succeed? Why punish solo players?
anyway, just needed to voice my opinion. Would love to hear others thoughts.
thanks.
After over 3800 hours, and as someone who primarily plays solo queue, I can firmly say that Killer is not too powerful.
The majority of Killers are far too weak, in fact.
-
I think the grab mechanic is so buggy and inconsistent it should just be replaced with making Survivors Exposed when they are doing a grabbable action instead.
-
Complete meme build, has basically zero chance of winning against any halfway competent survivors.
-
It's near-impossible to rescue against a Bubba camping the basement.... but all it that means is the Killer is spending 2 minutes sitting in the basement doing nothing, during which time the other Survivors get to do generators completely free.
Basement Bubba can only win if the Survivors throw the match, either by the hooked survivor suiciding, or by the non-hooked survivors wasting time trying to rescue instead of just doing gens.
It's annoying to play against, yeah, but it's far, far, far from overpowered.

I don't think FNAF is a good fit for DBD.
Fortnite? Maybe. It has everything except JoJo. CoD? Nah.
I dont really care for FNAF, but any kind of "would not fit in DBD" argument is pretty much moot ever since The Trickster was added. The aesthetic is dead, anything goes now.

Honestly the entire Obsession mechanic feels vestigial.
1) There are no baseline mechanics associated with it other than the little entity claws telling players that the Obsession is being chased, but as of next patch that's not even going to be unique to the Obsession.
2) There are barely any Killer perks that utilize it, and with very few exceptions the majority of them are useless, or in the case of Dying Light potential even outright detrimental.
3) No Killer uses it as a base part of their Power
4) There are a grand total of -2- addons that interact with it, 1 on The Shape, 1 on Survivor.
5) Only 2 Survivor perks (Blood Pact and OoE) interacts with the mechanic in a way other than changing the obsession target or changing priority of random Obsession selection
-
It's a little of both.
There are some perks that are genuinely terrible and need buffs, such as Slippery Meat, This is Not Happening, Up the Ante, Visionary, ect.
But there also some perks that just need straight up nerfing, like Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Circle of Healing, ect. all of which are so ridiculously overpowered that there is basically zero reason to not run them instead of any of the "average", more balanced perks.
-
I think the biggest problem with the game currently is map design. Like 90% of the problems DBD currently has stem from poorly designed maps.
-
It's not the worst, but it is pretty bad.
-
I dont think we need any more items. Each of the items we have already fufills its own niche. Map and Key could probably use a bit of reworking, while Toolboxes and Medkits need nerfs, but other than that, what we already have is fine. We really dont need any more.
-
BHVR cant even get the one game mode they already have to work right sometimes, much less balance it properly.
You really think they can handle making a second mode with double the amount of players?
-
Survivor by far. I like Killer conceptually, but the game balance is such a mess that playing Killer is an utterly miserable experience if you get matched up against competent Survivors that actually know what they are doing and are playing to win.
-
No, I really do not want to see even more team-mates throwing matches so they can run around the map for 5 minutes looking for their glyph.
-
Whats is the point of having 500 different killers if 99% of them aren't worth playing.
-
Quite possibly the worst killer in the game. Having a Killer based entirely around "hope the AI works properly lol" is a terrible idea in the first place, and to make matters worse is that even when the AI does work properly, it's not even good.
-
Deliverance is already an extremely potent and game-changing perk, it absolutely does not need to be buffed.
-
It needs a total rework. Reducing TR while in chase is such a ridiculously niche effect that it would be bad even if it didnt require getting stacks.
-
As long as they only stick to the original Team Silent games and dont acknowledge the crap later games, sure, why not.
-
Why is the game's mascot so bad. You could literally make half of his addons base kit and he would still be a bottom-tier killer.
-
SBMM itself is not a bad thing, however the way BHVR has implemented it is completely awful.
-
Cool idea, but very poor execution. He's just way too easy to deal with.
-
None. I hate the Killers talking.
-
No, I dont think a extremely under-powered Killer should be made even weaker.
-
I think its a good idea in concept, might need some more work execution-wise.
At the very least it stops the killer from being able to slug all remaining survs and force them to wait 4 minutes bleeding out.
Good change overall.
-
If the Survivors are competent and playing the game correctly, they are at a massive advantage over Killers the vast majority of the time.
Of course if the Survivors are bad and/or playing the game wrong, they can lose, but that is like saying "Nurse is the worst killer in the game if you dont use any blinks or cant land any of your blinks".
-
In terms of strength, Wesker wins easily. Most of the licensed Killers are pretty weak for some reason.

Addressing the symptoms and not the cause is always a bad idea. Find out why people hook suicide and fix those reasons. You might get lucky with an equivalent bloodletting or penicillin, but nothing beats specialized treatment.
Players will kill themselves for literally anything. Hell, just a couple days ago there was a feng who killed herself on the first hook of the match, after 3 generators had already been completed. The Killer wasnt even camping or anything, he had already started travelling across the map, and she just started killing herself immediatley upon being placed on the hook, despite the fact that we were winning.
-
Child's Play / Chucky
-
I initially voted for "no" several weeks ago, but thinking on it more, I changed my mind and do think it was justified.
-
I think the entire Totem/Hex/Boon mechanics should be reworked entirely.
Dull Totems should do something at their baseline so Survivors and Killers actually have a reason to care about them.
Hexes are far too luck-based and aren't even remotely powerful enough to justify the risk of being destroyed.
Boons shoulds be nerfed somehow, 1 perk slot for a very powerful perk that the entire team benefits from is absurd.
Killer should have a better way of defending Totems in general.
-
Hag is definitley not OP, if anything she needs some buffs. She's extremely easy to counter (and even moreso if Survivors have a flashlight or two), and not that strong even when Survivors aren't actively countering her power.
However, despite not being overpowered, she's still just kinda boring to play against.
-
Honestly I'd just want an option to turn all charms off. I absolutely hate how they look.
-
Yeah, probably. Unsurprising considering it's actual effects are -stronger- than old Dead Hard. All they did was make it have a small amount of timing required, which really isn't very difficult.
-
For now? 0.
He's way too buggy to give an actual rating. Cant really accurately say how good or bad he is when his power bugs out multiple times per match, every match.
-
He literally released less than a week ago
Of course lots of people are playing him, what do you expect?
