I miss the old red skill checks. There's really no skill involved in skill checks anymore.
-
I'm one of those recent reviews. I've played a couple thousand hours and never felt it necessary to share my thoughts, but the last couple updates finally compelled me. It seems a lot of players reached their tipping point.
Also since we're posting screenshots:
Looks like they hit an all-time peak for negative reviews with patch 4.5.
-
Slugging is better because NOED takes a perk slot. Don't go for 12 hooks if you care about winning.
Also, you seem to treat slugging like it's unfair or something. It's 100% a viable and fair tactic, and if you want to win against experienced players, you're gonna have to slug more often than not.
-
Playing something else for awhile. I heard Civilization might be a refreshing change. ;)
-
ZubatLEL. His compilations on youtube are pretty great, although his Twitch chat is.. questionable.
-
Unless they move the Survivor portraits back to the bottom-left, I just can't get jiggy with it.
Also it still says "remaining" next to the gen icon, which is totally unnecessary. And when the gens are done, it says "stop survivors from escaping." Really? Is that not obvious? It's a waste of space and feels like the game is holding my hand. Maybe when I down a Survivor it should say in big white letters "Hook the Survivor" too.
-
Any Killer without mobility (meaning most of them) is at a huge disadvantage on large maps. So unless they figure out a way to give all Killers mobility, maps need to be made smaller.
-
I forget about charms so often they might as well not exist. Why were they added again? At this point they only serve as fodder to fill the empty slots on the free rift.
-
People come to forums to complain, mostly. So on average you get irrational arguments based in emotional response. The asymmetrical nature of the game only fuels the fire. My advice? Learn to recognize when a poster is being irrational and move on. Don't waste your time arguing or worrying about their opinions - you need to pick your battles, and you will never win using logic vs. emotion, at least not in their minds.
-
Then you are doomed to starve like the rest of us!
Jokes aside, I have the exact opposite problem. I wanted to play on Xbox for convenience, but all my stuff is on PC so...
-
Nah the UI is even worse for Killers because of the first person camera. At least Survivors got individual hook counters.
-
It takes a lot of practice and precise timing. I've played a few thousand hours and I still mess them up!
I agree though. Sometimes it gets me killed trying to go for a blind. Sometimes I forget I even had the flashlight equipped for the entire round or I don't get chased by the Killer so I never have a good chance to use it. Screw it man, just run a medkit instead haha.
-
I wish Left Behind didn't exist. It's only ever good for playing selfish. It encourages negative behavior like old Dying Light promoted tunneling. It should be changed again.
-
It could work as a custom game mode. But like others have said, adding a public queue for this would be pure chaos and exacerbate many of DBD's issues (bugs, queue times, balance, bad teammates, etc.)
-
I used to unlock my FPS but it led to more bugs. For example, there was a patch where you couldn't leave the basement and would keep teleporting back. Turned out it was related to unlocking FPS.
There are some benefits, like skill checks are generally smoother and seem easier to hit. But the devs probably have it capped at 60 FPS for a reason, so keep in mind uncapping is at your own risk.

blood is good and all. but being silent>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> not dropping blood.
we can all agree hemorrhage is the worst effect ever right?
Absolutely. I'm so annoyed that there are purple add-ons for hemorrhage and nothing else. Freddy's Z Block comes to mind. It's hardly worthy of a brown add-on let alone a purple.
-
Idk why so many people care about realism. I play this game because it's fun not because it's realistic or has stellar graphics. I'd much rather have less clunky movement if it means looking a bit more silly.
And why are we bothering with this anyway? Surely balance and gameplay should take priority over animations. As 1000 people have already said, don't fix what isn't broken.

Bro I'm rank 2 and survivors there still feel like they have to get there trap off soon as they get off the hook. It's not just noobs. I run an extra traps because there's always that one or two that get it off first try so I make them do it again. I played against a pig last night and get left on a hook by a claudette because she wanted to get her trap off. That dropped me to a rank 5 survivor. That stupid (BAD WORD).
Bad players exist at every rank. Against a proper SWF she is powerless. Bad Survivors make her seem good.
-
Pig. Too RNG based even with add-ons. Her kill rate is inflated by bad Survivors not understanding how her traps work.
-
Also the devs seem to value seeing blood very highly, hence why they throw the hemorrhage status effect on so many add-ons lol.
-
In my humble opinion, I think since the Mettle of Man fiasco, they've been preemptively handicapping perks on release so they don't get out of hand. The only exception being Hex: Undying, but now even that has been neutered.
-
Bunny Fengs be like: Of course you realize this means war.
-
Your first example is the intended use I think. You want a slow bottle on one end of a loop and a fast bottle on the other so you're sped up while they're slowed. Of course, this doesn't really work on short loops, so you'll just be using the standard slow gas most of the time. They really should've given each type of bottle its own capacity. 4 bottles isn't really enough to utilize the new ability.
-
Aside from the UI being too spread out, I also hate that it says GENERATORS in big letters next to the symbol. Anyone who's played even 1 game of DBD knows what the symbol means. It's such a waste of space, it hurts my eyes.
-
I'd love to try it, but I don't think the devs are interested in adding any other game modes. They always say no every time it comes up in a Q&A.

I don't think it can ever be a viable perk. It's concept is a perk that benefits you for having dead teammates and being the "sole survivor", but... That's not what you want in a perk unless you're sandbagging, which is in itself not something to be encouraged.
The only thing I can think of is splitting up it's power so that you get 55% of the total effect just for equipping the perk, and for each dead survivor you get the additional 15%.
Naturally the maximum aura cancellation would have to be nerfed because 40m of personal aura cancellation is kinda huge just for equipping a perk.
Great breakdown. The core concept of needing your teammates dead to have an effect is never going to be good.
The only time this perk might shine is if you play super selfish with Left Behind and a Key. And even then, it might not have any effect if the Killer doesn't have aura reading perks.

That's why I think deactivating DS if you heal someone is stupid.
And unhooking someone is stupid too, let's say you're in the basement with other survivor and u got unhook, and then unhook X survivor, now ds is usseles and the killer is coming back for you.
Seems fair to me. If the Killer managed to hook multiple people in the basement, they shouldn't all be able to get out for free. That's what Borrowed Time is for.
You gotta choose if you want to save your teammate or save yourself. Unhook your teammate or save DS. Being able to do both is overkill and why it's being changed.
-
Killer: 3K or 4K
Survivor: Escape or 20k+ BP or Run the Killer for 4+ gens
-
Change for the sake of change, I guess.
-
My buddy instantly regretted buying Nea's Graff-Crafter skin. Unfortunately he didn't realize it was a set and unmixable with other stuff. I'm still annoyed sets are a thing.
-
League of Legends. At least in DBD everyone has to wait until post-game to flame me in chat instead of during the match lmao.
-
I vote 2018. Tapp, Kate, Adam, Jeff. Kate is beloved and Jeff's corpse paint skin is my favorite skin.

using corrupt intervention makes the survivors who usually spawn on the other side of the map spread out and do gens across the map and when it isn't used they usually do the closest gens, using corrupt intervention basically lessens your chances of successfully getting a 3 gen while applying pressure.
This. You don't care about gens in the distance as Hag. You want to set up a web of traps and lock down one side of the map. Go ahead, let them do all the gens on the far side of the map and then let them come to you. For this reason, Corrupt Intervention can actually hurt more than help.
-
Moris counter DS, pallet saves, flashlight saves, Head On saves, Flip flop plays, Power Struggle plays, bodyblocking, hook sabotaging, and more. They absolutely have value, even if it's only for the last hook.
Though I like your idea of allowing all Killers to kill the last Survivor (Cypress Mori base-kit basically).
-
Then Freddy would be a basic M1 Killer until he injures you. If anything they'll increase the sleep timer from 60 to 75 seconds. Removing it would completely destroy his kit.
-
I've never noticed a difference whether it's on or off. And yet I always check/uncheck it if I'm using headphones or not. It would be pretty hilarious if we found out it was a placebo this whole time haha.
-
With the best add-ons and in the best hands, Blight is viable. But it's also easy to make mistakes with him, so most players might not be able to keep up with the best Survivor squads.
-
We don't even know anything about their MMR system, so it's impossible to judge it. All we know is they're trying to improve matchmaking because the current system doesn't work. Let's hope for the best.
-
Just commenting to say BUFF PIG plz devs <3

PC player here. If anything, I dislike PC players more because they can trash talk me in the chat lmao. Never understood the hatred between platforms. Although I could understand console players not wanting to play with PC since a mouse is way better than a controller.
-
Mobile has a surprising amount of features not present in the main version! A look-behind button would be much appreciated by controller players. I personally suck when using a controller because the camera sensitivity is so limited.

Yeah its annoying, half of them are wraiths, I don't get why wraith, you're gonna afk depip you.may as well do it that a killer that survivors can run around in front of to max chase, that way you aren't screwing others and you get some bloodpoints.
They pick Wraith because otherwise Survivors won't do gens and will tbag in front of the Killer for 20 minutes. At least that's what I do lol. They're probably trying to de-rank so they wanna do it fast as possible.
-
I think The Archives and the constant Rift grind played a larger role in burning me out than the game itself. I binged to get the rewards and was left feeling unfulfilled. So now I usually only queue up when I have a buddy to play with.
I still find this game fun... I guess I've been taking Mathieu's advice and playing some other games for awhile. :)
-
Sunk cost lol.
In all seriousness, I'm a former League of Legends player and once I quit that I needed a new game to fill the void. DBD just happened the next game in line for me. Funny to think about!
-
Hmm your build is certainly unique and creative. You somehow managed to take 3 of what I'd consider to be the most unused Killer perks out there and made a coherent build.
I still can't get jiggy with it, but I respect the effort!
-
As much as I enjoy being able to choose my map, for the sake of balance it is probably best that map offerings are not allowed. That is, until BHVR finally balances every map so they do not heavily favor one side or the other. (Which will never happen because maps are dependent on RNG).
-
Find new friends? Join the DBD Discord and you can find a team in a few minutes. I hope your experience improves in the future.
-
Aside from the bugs, I figure most people got their fill of slugging and proxy camping constantly, and have moved on.
-
The timer wasn't really the problem. It's the activation requirement. Getting a to heal a teammate is never a guarantee, and you need to heal them fully, so if they've been healed slightly by another teammate or use a medkit or self-care, then Second Wind doesn't activate.
It's not the worst perk, but certainly doesn't contend with the best.
-
Hmm good question. I'm surprised God Bus is still around. Maybe because there are 2 different bus spawns, 1 of which isn't very good, so they figure it's fine? Not sure, but God Bus is definitely one of the strongest structures in the game at the moment.
