@George_Soros Ironically, its cheaper to buy whole DLCs from the game's steam store page than a single cosmetic from the store..

On topic. I haven't bought anything coming from Behavior in a while and I plan not to support them until they start actually fixing #########. Saying that they are planning on fixing things are empty and meaningless without action.

@se05239 I think you're too hard on them. A LOT of recent changes are great, and we also tend to forget that even though a number of new bugs come every time with a new chapter, many of them are fixed relatively shortly (Trapper unable to grab from trap or Legion blades exploit come to mind, also there are significantly less occurences of infinite loading screens... and there are many more examples). Also, gameplay/balance issues are slowly but surely solved: just think about the much needed healing nerf some time ago, DS rework, or the upcoming MoM change.

I definitely can't see any major (gamebraking) problem with the game. And despite of a lot of annoying issues, you gotta admit: the core concept of DBD is brilliant, it's insanely fun to play (yes, insanely frustrating too at times but that just shows it's greatness). And it clearly involves a lot of hard work and knowledge... this is something that deserves our gratitude. Whether we show it by buying stuff so they can continue working on the game, or at least by not criticizing the existing problems too harsh, is anyone's own decision. But the good immensely outweighs the bad. That's how I see it at least.

... end of sermon, sorry for going off topic.

  • @DudeDelicious if you say so. To my experience, survivors rarely miss Overcharge skill checks. But I believe it works out for you, for me almost anything that involves kicking gens is a waste of time, except PGTW... maybe.

The only time I hate the end game is when the hatch spawns in between two doors close to each other.. Zero chance to escape in the short time available.

Also its kind of funny that the last few years killer mains have been complaining about "free escapes" but they aren't complaining about free ecg kills lol

@CornChip EGC sacrifices are not "free kills". We have to find the hatch, have to protect both gates, succesfully guess which one you're on... not a free kill by any definition. If there are at least two survivors alive in endgame, gates are very easy to open while one is chased. If there's only one left, well, that's on the survivors. You can't expect an easy way out if you're all by yourself against the killer. It's just you're used to it because it was that way for a very long time. Fortunately, with EGC, it's fixed now. EGC definitely improves the game a lot.

  • Hook action requirements can make it hard, in no small part due to DC-s and hook suicides. If you find yourself in a position where two are dead, one is downed, and one is on first or second hook, drop the downed one repeatedly next to the hooked one so he can wiggle out, save his mate, then down him again, hook him and let the other do the rescue. Continue until they are dead on hook. They may think you're being "toxic", but it actually helps both you and them to get more BP and emblem score.

The other difficult part is Gatekeeper emblem: especially with a Clown without Ruin, you're gonna get genrushed hard. Not much else to do about it then finding and downing people as fast as you can. Soft camping is recommended too, but keep in mind they may not be as altruistic as you'd hope, so adjust accordingly.

With PGTW you COULD do an effective 3 gen strat, but unfortunately, if they fix 4 gens too fast, you'll lose a lot of Gatekeeper score anyway, so I wouldn't recommend going for it. As others said, your best bet is to try doing it while you're on low ranks.

    Good luck :)

EDIT: oh you got Adept Clown already. Yay. Anyway, congrats :)

  • Was a dumb perk, and while one can be dealt with, if 3-4 survivors had it, it was a nightmare for any M1 killer. Changing it is necessary, get over it.

That said, I don't think "Protection" hits is a good approach. Taking hits while killer is carrying is not a good strategy, don't think it should be rewarded (fine by me though, I love Mad Grit anyway, but it's a dumb thing for a survivor to do). I think they should just remove the speed bonus for the third hit, and, like with pre-nerf DS, there should be a reliable indication as to which survivor has it. This way it would still have a usefulness for the survivor who uses it, but would give a chance to killer to prepare for it. (So we could tunnel the living crap out of them, same as we used to with DS users :D )

  • Rancor is a weak perk... If you're the obsession, just stay away from gens when there's only one left, and go stealthy when it's done, until one of your teammates opens an exit. Then leave. And don't forget, it's NOT an aura reading perk, it just shows the killer your location at the moment a gen is done (similar to screaming with Madness), but it doesn't give them any indication of where you're going (unlike BBW, Bitter Murmur and so on).

    Really not a big deal.

  • Absolutely not. If they miss Overcharge skill check, you'll be notified anyway. If they don't, (often they won't) you'll just get annoyed when seeing your white generator turning yellow without the explosion.

Really, there's not much point using Overcharge on anyone else than Doc.

  • I need a lot of Rubber Gloves though. Some of them kinks can be risky if done without protection.

  • @StarMoral yes it is, watch the recent dev stream.

  • Geez, they're trying to make the game better. Nothing "shady" about it... You seem to not realize, while new content may look good on paper, and some obvious problems can be fixed in PTB, the real test of any new mechanic is live game. These fixes are necessary.

Besides, we're talking about DLC-s that cost what, $6? 5? I trust it's not going to make you go bankrupt.

  • I bought him just because I buy all characters that come out. Never used MoM, except when getting Adept Ash. Hell, I don't even like Evil Dead, it's so dumb and unfunny. I just want to support BHVR, without spending on stupid cosmetics.

  • I have two opinions regarding this matter, and I disagree with both.

  • I'd rather mori the other, even more annoying Justin. Yes, I'm talking about Trudeau.

  • Yup, that's about it. I'm having a hard time ignoring pips, but that is the smart thing to do. Just try to kill as many survivors as you can ;)

@George_Soros How the hell am I supposed to understand it?

Ignore the lyrics, and enjoy the music. Btw it's not a German thing, Germans are decent, normal people. It's Austrian. They're the craziest psychos on the planet.

I wish I could force survivors hear this too when they're in Madness 3 ;)

  • Camping is ok. Tebagging is ok too. Nothing to see here, please move along.

  • Not sure about the Ghost.

But I'm listening to this while playing Doctor:

  • For the longest time, I could not imagine that Kate would ever have any decent competition in the hotness department.

Jane has proven me wrong. Now I fell unable to decide.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

The only Buff No Mither really needs is the removal of the Injured-Music.

    This.

  • Sacrifice. Yes, a game from 2000. To this day, the most brilliant RTS game. Very intricate world, campaign is full of humour. Multiplayer is viciously hard to master, but intense. There are still a handful of maniacs playing it.

  • It's a game: you want to win, the other guy wants to win, you can't have it both. If you suggested a DC exemption for the really mean move: slugging all of you but not hooking, I'd support that, because it really is only about making survivors miserable and waste their time, without any benefit to the killer. But DC-ing right before your third hook, while I admit it's not the worst kind of DC, is still a DC. Since you're dead anyway, you don't ruin your team so much, but on the other hand, you save about 20-30 seconds of your life, while losing your BP, so there's no point to it, other than expressing your frustration.

Generally, starting to make exceptions for DC-s is not a good idea.

@George_Soros I am not even sure why making him as fast as before would make him too strong. He still have to suffer a long-ass stun and cannot bodyblock while fatigued. And multiple stabbings don't do ######### anyway.

"Gotta Go Fast" was one of the fun things Legion had going for him before.

@se05239 yea it's really not even about Legion being strong or not. You just blaze through the map, jumping through vaults as you please, slash relentlessly, feeling formidable and powerful... that experience is gone now. Such a wasted opportunity too: I honestly believe that it would have been possible to leave Legion's core design as it was, while making the moonwalk thing go away, changing Deep Wound mechanic to make it less annoying, and possibly tackling Killer Instinct (give it a counter).

It is what it is now, no way there's gonna be Legion adjustments anytime soon. My biggest worry is that the Freddy rework will take a similar path: I'll be very disappointed if he'll be made stronger but less special.

  • Pretty much in agreement, the vault speed nerf is the worst. Legion's uniqueness came from them giving you a sense of being fast and agile, and it felt good when you were fed up with the slow normal vault of other killers. And the FF movement speed is nearly as bad.

The only thing that HAD to be fixed was the moonwalk exploit. Other than that, the whole outrage about Legion was that a lot of players hated the concept of a killer that can almost inevitably get you, if committed. Plus, though there has always been counterplay, survivors would have had to give up the meta, and they didn't want that.

Legion is still a relatively effective killer. But man, is he boring...

  • They're probably freemasons. Avoid them, they want your children.

  • You need to get married.

  • Man survivors are just squirming to somehow get their free escape back.

Sorry toots, you have to put some brainwork there. A new experience, I know but you'll get used to it.

  • How about this: if the killer closes the Hatch, the archangel Michael descends and carries the last survivor to safety? Hm? Would that work for you?

  • @GrootDude said:

    @George_Soros only on pc.

@TreemanXD ??? You have aftergame chat on consoles, right? But you don't have lobby chat? Consoles are so dumb.

  • Well, I guess it'd be a lot of work to creat a whole lot of new props to perfectly fit certain maps, so we'll have to do with pallets. Although... I wonder if the devs have ever seen a real pallet. I'm not sure what size they're using in Canada, but standard EU pallets are way too small to effectively stun someone.

Oh, sorry @Mushwin , I know I know: water. Right.

  • Solo players have a perfectly good chance to discuss basic strategy in the lobby though. Failing to do so is on them.

  • @FeelsVeryBadMan oh yes, I was thinking the same about the Temple: what the hell are pallets doing there? Shouldn't there be something like carved stone blocks or something more in style? Not that it effects gameplay, but a little off.

  • Don't care much about that, except... I'd love to see a mori where you push Dwight's head under water until he stops twitching :)

  • Oh come on @NuclearBurrito Rancor is not going to help you.

  • @NeonAlien if it's any consolation, I've only played like this three times so far, and I always got caught and murdered in the end. They were funny games though.

  • @Nos37 said:

You deserve that sacrifice? Then put them on the hook! Why slug them for several minutes? You "earned" it??

@Nos37 no, it's kind of a ######### thing to do. But I expect people will soon stop doing that, because of the small amount of BP you get for it.

  • Devotion does mean something though. Let me translate:

    Dev 1-2: you're getting there.

Dev 3-4: nice. You should get out every once in a while though.

Dev 5-6: ok, you're truly dedicated. If you experience numbness or joint paint in your limbs, try to stretch.

Dev 7-8: you do know you have limbs, right?

Dev 9-10: I'm being serious now. You're on a terrible downward trajectory. Stop it while you still can, meet some real people, get a girlfriend, a job, a life, anything !!!

    Dev 11 and above: nevermind...

  • Of course. I don't care if I'm called sweaty and whatnot. Life is competitive, and competitiveness is life. Not that I don't chill if some survivors DC early or they are just too inexperienced. But the best way to play is trying to annihilate them completely. The thought of running around, letting them farm and in return signaling that I want their cooperation to farm some BP myself makes me cringe.

  • Ok: so, last survivor gets downed, but he gets a free chance to escape, just... because?

Come on. Sometimes survivors die in this game, that's no reason to hand out a freebie. If anything, a somewhat faster bleeding out progress would make sense. I understand it's not the most fun thing to watch your life slowly running out. Wouldn't call it "critical" though, but sure: halfing bleed out time could help a little I guess (although let me point out: if I managed to down you, I kinda deserve that sacrifice). But a free recovery? Nah.

  • This is just a very detailed version of saying "I still want my free escape".

Now why would you want that? You're alone, facing the killer. You SHOULD have very little chance to escape.

In my opinion, the only relatively valid point you make is that if gates spawn too close, then there is no chance at all for survivors. Not a bad thing I say, but I guess the game could be a little more lenient, so minimum distance between gates could be increased somewhat. But otherwise: work as a team if you want to survive. Don't expect a freebie if you're alone.

As for "trolling"... you must realize, the new animation is BEAUTIFUL! Of course many of us killers want to watch it again and again. The novelty will wear off after a while, so there will be a lot less killers doing it, especially since EGC hook sacrifice gives us much more BP. than the automatic time out sacrifice. Until then, just bear with it: frustration is a part of this game. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be a great game.

  • How about those not hiding in lockers learn to hide in lockers? Would it be too hard?

  • Feel somewhat lousy after I tunneled him into oblivion. Just a little though: I hate Ash with or without MoM.

Sandals with socks. Must be purged.

  • I'm not even a great killer, even though I play a lot. But I had amazing results with Mad Grit + Agitation + Iron Grasp combo. Completely useless against careful survivors, but great against overly altruistic ones, which 4 person SWF teams often are.

And yes, listen to those guys saying "take the challenge". Not everything has to be easy.

  • Far as I know, devs keep saying a more effective solution will be there only when the game moves to dedicated servers. As much as I hate DC-s, I think we can have a little more patience.

Btw, I'm certain that one of the reasons why they're afraid to put more decisive measure in place is a part of DC-s are crashes, bugs and so on. Pretty easy to assess: about 10-20% of disconnects in my games happen either right after game started, or at a point when survivors are actually making good progress and I'm stumbling, so it's hard to imagine they actually ragequit. Now, 10 or 20% is not a lot, but still, how pissed would someone be if they were unable to join games for a certain period as punishment for DC, if they did not do it on purpose. Obviously, if someone has a crappy internet connection and disconnects due to that, it should be punished the same way as ragequitting, but when it's a 100% not your fault, it shouldn't be. Looks difficult to find an ideal solution. But BHVR simply can't postpone a solution forever: DC-s are incredibly bad for DBD.

  • No. Evil Dead is bad, but we got Ash now. Child's play is worse. Just no. Please.

  • FUN tier list.png

Doctor is S+ for me though... love having an insanely big TR, and the screams barely a few seconds after match starts :)

Leatherface is mostly there because Speed Limiter double hits are about the most satisfying things I have in the game.

  • I ######### HATE Grammarly!!! Their dumbass ad shows up all the time I'm watching any ######### YT video they're rubbing their crappy product in my face, no matter how many times I clicked on "stop seeing this ad".

Drives me ######### crazy.... Only brainless morons would use that ######### anyway. Learn to write properly without some goddamn crutch. If someone actually needs Grammarly they probably suck so much that they can't be helped anyway.

    Jesus ######### Christ I so ######### hate that #########...

  • I have no experience with battle passes or season passes, but it sure sounds like some brainiac marketing guy's idea of milking kids who can't do math. Cringy.

BHVR, as soon as DC-ing people start getting banned, I'll start buying cosmetics like mad, seriously. I hope others think this way too. Just please don't waste resources and time on pointless stuff like passes.
