I mean, you can hear her? A bot will know what information it’s receiving, and act accordingly. They're not going to misinterpret the information they're given.

My favourite type of forum comment is one which references a very specific niche moment that not everyone knows about.
Like you can infer what it's about very easily but you really had to be there in the moment.
I mean it’s the single most iconic thread I ever made on these forums.
I still think about it a lot.
one specific comment in particular
-
At least it’s not about one specific charm this time…
-
The time of "Body is 1 character too short" is gone, I see.

Running an Oni for 4 gens on Hawkins. He got a Claudette within 20 seconds after that, but camped me to death with NoED.
One of the very few times I considered being camped a compliment.

Getting killed, even by *scare cord* camping, doesnt "rob a survivor of the ability to play the match". Progressing generators, evading killers, the all beloved chase and looping... playing the game, as is getting killed.
The game also doesnt suddenly become a "unwinnable 3v1", that'd only apply if the game loads with only 3 survivors. the 4th had enough opportunity to do stuff before getting chased and killed.
It's not the getting killed part that's the issue. If anything, that's only good thing about it--it's guaranteed to end eventually.
Found with Lethal and went down? It's inevitable, no matter how long it takes, especially if the killer is worth their salt. As a result, 2 of the 3 facets of survivor gameplay were never available to the survivor. No gen progress, no evasion to be had.
Your second point is irrelevant to my argument. Not to mention that it doesn't apply in the above scenario, which isn't at all uncommon or hard to do.

Combine this suggestion with basekit Unbreakable changes and we have officially arrived in the No Mither Era
I'm just utterly bewildered by what this would result in:
Hit-'n-Run killers would become A-tier overnight
Nurse becomes even stronger
Oni can't hold all those blood orbs
Victor can't attach after the first hit
Myers' power is reduced to a slightly faster vault
Plague has virtually no power at all
So many perks are straight-up dead
I can't-
-
Are you actually suggesting basekit No Mither?
Guess we haven't heard everything after all.

DBD community mentality of acting like using certain strategies is a bad thing will never not weird me out. The killer has no reason to apologize for tunneling on purpose, let alone on accident. That's like if survivors apologized for working on gens while the killer is busy chasing someone else. Why would they apologize?
It simply comes down to the fact that robbing one player of the ability to even play the match, as a strat, is not healthy for the game.
-
A limiting factor that I know for sure exists is that hatch can't spawn in places where you'd be able to see the survivor clip through the ceiling if you were standing under it. This could be the reason why The Game and Midwich don't see hatch spawns on the second floor, but RPD does.
-
Very, very rarely. Been playing since fall 2018, and I've only gotten 2-3. And one of those was me not realising it was a pity kill.
-
Reporting them does work. You need to record evidence and submit a ticket here: Submit a request – Dead by Daylight
-
Adrenaline. It just kills any motivation to try, especially if there’s more than 1.
NOED, ‘cause it tends to come out of nowhere. Icy eyes may mean NOED, but that doesn’t mean only Icy Eyes use it.

I guess some servers were unplayable so the event was extended. I'm glad for it because I wasn't done with the deep rift yet.
As for Bubba, good riddance. Rest in piss.
You do realise that, if the license does end, players will still keep Bubba if they already had him, right?

Except it happened way before the weekend.
Ngl, finals have messed with my perception of time and I was convinced it was Sunday today.
That said, I still don’t expect BHVR to respond anytime soon. This thread is likely to be deleted come Monday.
-
Coldwind, Ormond and most notoriously Garden o’ Joy have a handful of these, yeah.
-
Y'all are forgetting it's the weekend. These things have nasty habit of showing up when BHVR is not in office.
-
This is often referred to as "cross-progression", and BHVR has stated that while the Switch is in the works (for over 2 years now), Xbox and the PS consoles were not going to feature it.

The common (someone made a YouTube video) build for this is hex: face the darkness, sloppy butcher, hex: thrill of the hunt, and insidious. Combined with the add-ons that block survivors from seeing the box and one that shows the cenobite the box location.
You injure one survivor and go stand on top of the box for the rest of the game.
So there's a permanent chain hunt because you're body blocking it. Face the darkness can't be cleansed because, with thrill, it takes 28 seconds to cleanse the totem, but they are forced to scream and interrupt the cleanse every 25 seconds. You can't heal the injured survivor because of sloppy and the interrupts.
The game is a win, but is guaranteed to be an excruciatingly long match for survivors.
With the snowmen, you get insidious for free and can put ruin in for even longer matches. At that point, you have a 45 minute slog for survivors who basically earn nothing in two categories for the game.
And the killer can go afk after the first minute.
Edit: autocorrect.
Oh I'm not saying this isn't an issue, but I just don't see it being pressing enough for the devs to fix it before the event comes to an end.
-
Long and the short of it is that there's nothing quite like it.
That, and I tend to be very loyal. Happened with Don't Starve up until 2018-ish, and now it's DbD.
wonder if it has something to do with the setting...
-
I mean, if he's just standing on the box, he's not stopping gens, is he? Slowing them down, sure, but you can still do 'em.
-
I can vibe to practically anything (except maybe screaming metal), as soon as it has a sense of familiarity to it. Last week, I caught myself vibing to a full half hour loop of mario kart wii's version of the gameboy bowser castle course.
Also FNaF SL custom night music is my go-to "i need to focus" music. Very specific, but haven't found anything that worked for me like Venta Black 10h loop does.
Also also, whatever you want call this. I cannot describe it as anything other than stimulating.

and right as you lift your finger, skillcheck pops up and you blow the gen losing progress anyway 😂
Still beats 25 seconds of inactivity, or doubling the time needed to complete a gen.
-
Yes. We all noticed demo leaving, and he wasn’t played that much either.
Besides, there are plenty of players that do enjoy them.

Funnily enough, Nurse also presents the easiest counterplay to Eruption.
Hear a woosh? Let go of the gen.

Just want to be clear, this wasn't something that only affected UK server - it did affect other servers as well, although not quite as prominently.
Ah, that's good to know, I'll edit the title accordingly. Thanks!

If the Anniversary is The Evil Within I will lose my contents.
That said, Onryo isn't exactly a high priority, especially compared to Twins. Why they haven't received any changes is likely due to lack of bandwidth
-
From how I understand it, these changes only affect the phrase displayed at the end of the match, and by extension, the qualification for the killer adepts. Nothing more.
Though I do wonder if it interacts with the hatch, in any way.
-
If Nurse gets unique TR, we’e officially reached the point where default TR + no environmental indicators = Bubba
-
They never said it was the only survivor-sided map.
Also, nerfs have priority over buffs.

Sweet baby jesus there’s so much here
2023 starting off strong!

I do notice it, but I find it hard to care for it. The vast majority are P10-20 anyway.
I'll always be a bit suspicious of P100's, but that's just paranoia, ig.

Boon: Watching Ward
[whole boon spiel]
Whenever the killer is within range of the Boon Totem, the Boon Totem’s aura turns red. Any survivor within range of the Boon Totem when this happens hears a sound cue, and the UI and ambient VFX will turn red.

You can still report people in-game, which gives BHVR their steam ID.
And if BHVR finds that they were cheating; they will still get a ban on their steam profile.
So it seems to work fine to me.

reporting them In-Game is the best way to report someone
Have to add that submitting a ticket with actual evidence is required if you want your in-game report to do anything.

You do realize that you're not in the majority who understands the purpose of the game...IT IS NOT to kill every survivor as fast as possible. IT IS to get as many points as possible. Camping and tunneling make you lose points while max points can be easily obtained with just 8 hooks....don't even need a kill. Until players learn the real goal of DBD, they should have no say in strategies or anything cause they are 100% making up their own rules. Hell all 4 survivors can get max points without doing a single gen. It's sad how the community makes up their own rules to the game to make them selves feel righteous or whatever.
Imagine telling a dev that they don't understand what the point of their game is.
-
@JohnnyB87 said:
Cheating is horrendous in this game anymore. And they don't even hide it cause behaviour doesn't do anything about their "ban" offenses. Literally nothing. The game is quickly going down the gutter due to consistent l0sers using hacks and the fact that players are just the most toxic ever on both sides....no one plays the game for BPs, like it's meant to be played, they either, as a survivor, have to gen rush and leave....boring...or, as a killer, camp and tunnel players out of game....also completely boring and pointless cause you don't even need 1 kill to get max points.
on a side note, all those saying that there isn't cheaters in the game, I can guarantee are probably also cheating LOL
That's verifiably false. CoconutRTS has various videos on him getting cheaters banned. I myself have gotten cheaters banned, as do most other forum regulars. Not a single soul is saying there are no cheaters, no idea where you got that from. Throwing a baseless accusation immediately after that is also not helping anyone.
Also, saying that playing for BP is the "intended way to play" is entitled. People are perfectly allowed to play for the win, no matter what that looks like. It's when the "win" becomes flat-out denying the other side the ability to play that it becomes an issue, in my book. Though that's still a completely different thing from game balance, fun-that-was-had, or even ethics, however.
-
Weird. My experience hasn't been anything different. I definitely noticed some players had a near-constant red ping but I myself hardly noticed anything.
EU-West, by the by.
-
On the flipside, if the gates are on opposite sides of the map, it’s really bad for the killer.
It’s really just luck. Only Midwich and the two RPD variations have static gates, so it’ll never be fair
Also, Wraith doesn’t teleport. If you were with 4 folks but were unable to get a gate open, that sounds like a skill issue to me. No Way Out could’ve been used I guess, but that’s not a guaranteed 3k against 4 standing survivors.
-
Dumb question, but did you actually restart your game?
-
that is all
-
I think it’d be more interesting if we had variations for where the hook is.
It looks a bit silly to just have to watch the ceiling whenever it’s an indoor hook. Especially the basement, where you can often see the corpse being dragged up through the ground and then just popping out.
Why always up? Why not down for a change?
-
Thinking it’s possibly Overcharge, Unnerving Presence, Jolt, Eruption or Pain Resonance.
Overcharge triggers a very small skillcheck when you touch a gen the killer has kicked, and Unnerving makes all skillchecks smaller when you’re in the terror radius. The “great” section is unchanged, but the “good” section is about half the usual size.
Jolt, Pain Res and Eruption just make the gen go kaboom regardless of what you’re doing on that gen. Though since you mentioned skillchecks I doubt that’s what it could be.
