New releases don't get killswitched. It would kill the hype for the release stone dead, and I strongly doubt they'd want to kill the hype for the single most requested license the game's ever had.

So perk tiers just do nothing then? What is the point in upgrading the perk? 😖
Guessing that the so-called 'shadow-nerf' is a bug causing all tiers to display the tier 1 values.

My friend checked for me, they all say 1% 😭
Well that's bugged then.
-
Wait but if it's 1%, then what are the other tiers?
Talk about a wasted perk slot.
-

The audio issue in a match is caused by the killer‘s power, so it‘s unique to him.
The ability to unhook was removed, but you can regain it by equipping specific perks.
The Bloodweb sound issue I don‘t know. I imagine it‘ll be fixed within one or two weeks.

I get that and I do try my best to work around that, however a lot of gen spawn locations don't provide a good enough place to sit without being at risk of getting grabbed or insta downed
Call me a psycho or an idiot, but I'm a person that runs No Mither and I do it to improve my looping skills (And yes, It has actually been working. It adds pressure onto my every move and forces me to analyse better) but that shouldn't then mean that if I want to run a perk that I enjoy running that I'm therefore guaranteed to get hooked all because the killer has no heartbeat when they don't have any reason to be undetectable
I mean, by running No Mither you are exposing yourself to stealth killer’s main strength: the fact that they get first hits off pretty easily.
It seems a touch silly to complain about that when you handicap yourself in the exact way that massively benefits stealth killers. -

Game is fun to me and all people that play it. If anyone doesn't enjoy the game then why bothering playing it? Just go play something else.
That’s not what you wrote.
You wrote “not meant to be entertaining”. That means that means that devs did not intend for survivor gameplay to be fun. That’s different from players having differing opinions.
-
@Elan said:
Killer isn't meant to be entertainment for survivors. And there is limitation of how fun he can be to go against while strong at the same time.
So… half of the game isn’t meant to be fun? Why would the devs even bother then?

Feel like posts like this would be a good use of the new stats function. Everyone someone insists that they're not bad and they play both sides... we can just ask for a screenshot of their games played stat.
Isn’t this the exact reason why the devs don’t want to show players their MMR? Like, well intentioned as you may be, this just comes across as you trying to shut down someone’s complaints because they’re supposedly less experienced.
“Git gud” with extra steps

So the dozens of maps that have long walls or small spaces that provide no sightlines or any way of looking to see if the killer is there just doesn't matter then right?
Like Hawkins lab, Generator's in shack, Hospital map. Not to mention maps where the generator is in a jungle gym and there are very big blind spots that block LOS in that direction.
So basically, you need to be able to see through walls in order to counter stealth because ofc, it's not the stealth that the issue, it's the survivor/player
Game sense also helps a lot. Is nobody being chased? Where did you see the killer last? Is there any chance at all they might be coming your way? What are your blind spots, and can you put your back against a wall?
-
This is probably also the reason why the stats are accurate for other people. Some of us linked our accounts straight away.
-
The platform you're playing on keeps track of the entire time the application is running. BHVR's stats only show time spent in trials, so that doesn't include time spent waiting for a lobby, spending BP, browsing the store, selecting challenges, reading lore, etc..
It also doesn't count time spent in special game modes, like 2v8, as of right now.

True, but they probably should have predicted this and upped survivor incentives to make it a little more tolerable.
Isn't that handled automatically?
-
Everything sounds like it's to the left of me, which is really confusing.
-
I'm mostly surprised that it uses my Epic Games account name, which got randomly assigned to me
I obviously changed it years ago, but apparently that never went through.
-
Well, that's hardly surprising.
-
I still don’t understand why people were so opposed to the finisher mori, when the abandon feature as it is currently implemented does more or less the same. Hell, the finisher mori was better at it, since it called the game for the killer as well.

ehhh if you didn't know The Thing and CandyMan are 2 licenses that i know of that DBD decided to blacklist and will likely never be brought into DBD. I don't know the reasons why, but the devs likely have a very good reason why they're excluded.
Also yes keep the killers primarily horror icons.
Do you have a source for that? The Thing I can understand, due to its only logical power being useless against SWFs. But why Candyman?

Sadako. Mainly because my playstyle with her that revolved around the survivors ignoring the tv’s, which gave me on-demand map mobility. Said playstyle got gutted, so I lost my main for a while.
Then Unknown went and did that exact same thing, but even better. So I gravitated towards him.

REMINDER:
You have only a few obligations in life:
-your family-whoever signs your paycheck
-yourself
Anyone trying to tell you that you have some obligation to stay in a video game and punishes you for not doing so is a cancer to your life.
You have NO obligation to BHVR. You bought their game, they chose to coddle the toxic environment players. Show them their mistake with your wallet.I want to point out that I do not give a single ######### if I get banned for speaking truth because it only that this group is so frightened by actual reality that they want to ban people for speaking out against the bullshit
I’d say you’re also obligated to adhere to the law.
More abstractly, some people also subscribe to the philosophical concept known as the ‘Social Contract’, which states that, in order to maintain social order, ‘rational’ people willingly relinquish some of their freedom. If the macrocosm of that is society at large, the microcosm would be us relinquishing the freedom to dc at will to maintain a playable game. -
Does it have to be a shonen manga/anime, though?
I’m sure there’s dozens of suitable properties, but I’d prefer ones that actually are horror. -
The FoV can be adjusted in the settings, if that helps.

Yeah no that was someone using an unlocker tool. Always report on sight.
Also, what does it matter the "Dev" didn't survive that game. Are you saying dev must win at all times? Not necessarily. There are devs that play the game.
-
I think it’s fair to assume that the moment the license holders are willing to lend out Jason, BHVR will be on it asap.

Well, at least there's the guarantee that he won't be coming soon, since he's able to talk about it.

Cote said they were thinking about Star Wars or something like that.
Even so. Darth Vader, of all characters.
Surely he was joking?
-
Is there a layer of irony I'm missing here? 'Cause Darth Vader is so out of left field that I'm kinda shocked to see 3 separate threads about it.

down voting my comment is craZy just because i said everyone plays on steam the majority do, all he has to do is just get a 8$ steam account and play the ptb that way its that simple if 8$ is so hard to cough out for the ptb and your on epic you got some financial issues.
…
it also requires having a PC. One that can run DbD.Misread topic ignore. And laying down 20 dollars/euros to buy a game they already own.

Dead by Daylight is M rated, which is 17+.
So if we follow the ESRB, then no, minors shouldn't be allowed to play this game.
The UK uses PEGI ratings, which uses 18+ as its ‘mature’ cutoff.
Not that it matters, since kids will ignore it regardless.
-
It kinda raises the question how they’d do multiple prop killers. With Nemmy and Wesker, the props served a near-enough identical purpose, so they could be combined into one prop. But it doesn’t make sense for Singularity’s printers to also be, say, Plague’s fountains.
Not to mention that it’s strange to me how killer props don’t have priority over chests, but that’s a different topic.
-
I found this bug so fascinating, because it gave us regular players a chance to look at how the first-person perspective is pulled off.
Some killers got it rough, holding those poses.
-
The shadow is technicaly accurate. It's just that the shadow you're seeing is the shadow of the first-person animation, which needs to make sure nothing is getting in the way of the camera. So the model gets contorted, and the usual idle animations aren't used at all.
It's not a T-pose per se, but it does result in funny looking shadows.
-
I kept forgetting it existed. 🤷♀️

there was a community vote for a Killer?!?!
In China, yes. They wanted to make a Chinese killer, so they threw it to the Chinese playerbase to vote for inspiration. What they voted for was a real and alive person who is trying to "cure" gaming addiction through shock therapy. I think the story goes that before the release, the devs shifted gears and turned him into the Doc we have now. Léry's originally had Chinese text on all its signs too.

Nah, respectfully as the consumer, gimmie more.
If you want me to commit time to consuming art (books, TV, Movies, Games) Then chisel it into something I'd like tp consume. Gimmie More.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "worse in the past." Last I checked, the blood web and it's piecemeal approach to leveling has been the same since launch? At least thats how its been for me? lol I dont know. I just dont bother anymore. Its slow watching it go by. Sorry for the necroBloodweb prices were higher, BP gain across the board was lower, spending was, in the literal sense slower, prestiging completely emptied your inventory, the BP cap was 1 million.
Quite a lot has changed.
Also, with the chapter release, a mass-spending feature is being added.
it appears this topic is several months old. OP’s complaint is less relevant. -
Currently, there’s no way to not have hatch spawn, as far as I know.
-
Bans occur in waves, I believe.
-
That’s rather odd.
How long are the load times? If they’re normal, then in all likelihood that’s cheaters. Or some wild bug that occurs like once in every ten-thousand matches.

Chris Walker from Outlast and an Outlast themed map
I thought about this, but I’m having trouble thinking of a power for him. Chris is ultimately just a big strongman. That kinda goes for most of the Outlast antagonists.
To me, it would be between the Walrider, and maybe the Skinner Man from Trials. Mount Massive is the obvious pick for the map, though.
-
I'd say this isn't unique to survivors, or even DbD for that matter.

It's actually worse than that, because if the killer is bodyblocking a survivor, the survivor is considered near the killer, and therefore gains AFK points at 50% speed. This means the absolute worst case scenario is the killer is bodyblocking a survivor up to 190 seconds (10 seconds grace period + 180 seconds of AFK points at 50% speed), before the survivor gets 3 crows, and loses collision.
Hm. That seems like a grandiose oversight if that's indeed how it works.

Cleary never heard of Mortal Kombat xd
If anything, Mortal Kombat just proves that having gore does not equal horror. Mortal Kombat is defined by its over-the-top gore, and is arguably the main draw of the franchise. MK is far from a horror title, though.

@AmpersandUnderscore said:
It seems a bit odd to me that they finally updated this system, but didn't take some of the more common sense issues into account.
It makes sense, for example, that interacting with the killer's power should at least count as "playing the game" to progress toward removing crows. Things like pig hats, Onryo tapes, or even flame turrets that take more than a couple seconds to interact with/use shouldn't also be forcing survivors to announce their location as well.
On the other hand, they completely whiffed when it comes to the killer being afk apparently. Body blocking in a corner will still force the survivor to get crows and they physically can't do anything about it. They should, at minimum, remove collision when you get a certain number of crows so you can at least phase through a body block to get out. (You can still get hit, just pass through someone - this already exists for falling onto another character)
The third point seems to answer that.
-
Let's see what the changes on the PTB do when they hit live first. The 20-match count might do a lot. Or not, I'm honestly not sure,
-
@DefiantEnd said:
Yeah, that's my problem. When I hold both it doesn't ever do it. It makes me come to a dead stop before I can vault.
I Appreciate the advice for sure! I'm as confused myself lol.
Could you maybe try recording your gameplay with another device, like a phone? I’m quite unsure myself at this point too.
-
Is he even a stealthy character, though?
iirc, in his origin game, he even has a terror radius of sorts. -
@DefiantEnd said:
I'm not completely sure how to record it or I would for sure. But after doing more plays, I found that if I start sprinting then approach an obstacle, I let go of the W key as I approach and just hit space bar and the character will vault the object.
I figured you could hold the sprint key but maybe not?
Have you tried holding both shift and w keys? From how you’re describing it, it sounds like you’re coming to a dead stop before you vault. You need to keep running whilst vaulting, basically.
-
@DefiantEnd said:
Well, honestly I have only noticed it against Pyramid head. I played 3 matches and it was all the same killer lol. So I'm not sure if it's just him or constant.
Hm. I'm not entirely sure, then. If at all possible, could you maybe make a recording of this happening? Maybe it's another bug.
