I’m guessing Merchant took priority. She went back the drawing board like 3 times now, so idk how long that’s gonna take.

If you cherry pick the bad stats now you have a personal stat tracker that shows you’re garbage at the game (which no one wants.) and it’ll still struggle to affect the combined stats of the other 70,000 users
If you cherry pick the best games then you’ll have good stat profile but prove that the killer doesn’t need buffs.
Huntress is sitting at 47% KR and 52% KR on average the past year so tell me. Which one is it? Either way, you lose this argument.I'm not arguing anything beyond the fact the stats are unreliable? Which you seem to agree with?

The incidence of survivors contracting crows during seemingly innocuous activities is alarming. Crows are spreading at an unprecedented rate. It is clear that we, the people of the Entity's realm, must come together to find a way to stop the spread of the public health crisis these crows represent.
It will take the effort of survivors and killers alike. We'll need The Blight's deep knowledge of alchemy, Orela's medical expertise, Mikaela's magic, and David's ability to just punch the birds as they accumulate. Ace is not permitted within 10 miles of the mitigation effort, lest he gamble our efforts away.
But for real though, it's messed up to get crows when you're on a gen or doing the exit gate...

I can only imagine that Alien and Five Guys at Frederick's had different conditions on their contracts with the respective IP holders
Sure, but it’s still weird. Maybe they only got the license to the first film, so they couldn’t lift any in-universe locations?
In my humble opinion, either:
Nostromo’s realm gets a rename, since it’s functionally pointless for it to be Dvarka Deepwood.
Or
Nostromo’s offering goes. The offering itself is weird anyway. Most if not all map offerings are small objects you could reasonably hold in your hand, but Nostromo’s are… two whole-ass blast doors??
-
I think the question here is why Nostromo got its own offering, even though it’s supposedly in a realm with a completely different atmosphere. Vecna’s map was also not given a specific offering.
Like, why is Nostromo in Dvarka Deepwood? The only thing they share is that they’re both in deep space. It’d make more sense if the Nostromo somehow crashed on the same planet, but I don’t think this was ever mentioned.

Its not latency, he just doesnt face the direction he's aiming but instead the direction he's moving (backwards is the only exception)
So if he's straffing left or right, it looks like he's facing a completely different way and his red stain reflects this as it faces a completely different direction. So when it ends up throwing it, it looks really janky
That's a weird one.
But then, I guess anything's possible.

Thanks for replying with the info. Do you know if you can leave a Twitch stream playing in the background, muted, will it still count that time as watched?
Yes, it will count.
-
@Unimatrix00 said:
Okay, how do you get them?
Ok so this assumes you're not playing on Switch, which doesn't have Twitch intergration.
If you're new to Twitch Drops, it's a mechanic often used by streaming platform Twitch that rewards viewers by simply watching streams. For our purposes, to get the rewards you need to have both a Twitch account and a BHVR account. Once you have linked both accounts, you can look up a DbD streamer that's currently live and has a "drops enabled" tag, and you'll automatically start accruing watchtime. It doens't need to be consecutive, and it can be from any streamer with the tag. It's completely free, but as I say it does require a functional Twitch and BHVR account.

You honestly can't think of a list of things that survivors do, that killers might think are unfair?
I really don't want to sound like an arse but I don't think the question I asked was that difficult. You're still coming at it from the wrong direction.
I don't need a list. I want you to tell me how you imagine survivor gameplay, if they play 'fair' according to you. 'Cause from how I understand it, 'fair gameplay' as you define it looks like a solo queue'r who's sticking to gens at all times. I'm asking you to tell me how I'm wrong here.
I'm trying to establish what the equivalent to a killer deciding not to tunnel is, in so far that actually exists.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:

Survivors could refuse to do the following, out of fairness for killers:
- No flashlight or flashbang saves
- No pallet saves
- No hook sabotages
- No bodyblocking the killer
- No using voice comms, specifically for extra game advantages
- No excessive hiding from the killer
And this isn't a list of things "I" find unfair. It's a list of things the killer role in general can find unfair. I personally don't care what strategies people do, but if people want to make a big deal out of "playing fair", then they might as well have lists of restrictions for both sides of the game.
This is still not an answer to my question. You're coming at it from the angle of 'what's not allowed', whereas I'm asking you 'what's left'. But, I'll humour it anyway.
1: Annoying, sure, but unfair? Hardly. This isn't even possible basekit, either.
2: You might have an argument if you're referring to specific builds and coordinated strategies, but pallet saves in general are not what I'd call 'unfair'. Game sense is important here.
3: Again, annoying, yes, but hardly unfair. Also not possible basekit.
4: This one I might agree with on a conceptual level, but again I ask how often this influences a match to the same degree tunneling does.
5: Coming at it from a pure fairness angle, yes. But this is a video game, and people play with friends for fun. Besides, the people who use comms for an explicit advantage aren't all too relevant, since that's a different kind of player than we're talking about here.
6: That's what the AFK crows are for, heavy-handed as they are rn.

I just want people to stop having a double standard.
If someone thinks it's important for killers to play in a way that is fun for survivors, but doesn't think it's important for survivors to play in a way that is fun for killers… that is a double standard.
Whenever someone announces the fact that they play killer in a way that is fair for survivors, I also want them to announce they play survivors in a way that is fair for killers.
That is not an answer to my question.
What does survivor gameplay look like without using any of the strats you find unfair?
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3948675#Comment_3948675
It's still giving the expectation that killers should sabotage their kill rates out of fairness towards survivors, but survivors aren't expected to sabotage their escape rate out of fairness for killers.
It also sends a message that killer strategies are a problem that need to be nerfed, but survivor strategies are fine and shouldn't be nerfed. It's a major problem, when people honestly think the bulk of problematic behavior is only created from one side of the game.
What do you want survivors to do, though? Should they only ever do gens?
-
If you're looking for PvP, I'm afraid your options are very limited.
If you don't mind PvE, The Outlast Trials, or maybe even R.E.P.O might be more up your alley?
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3948585#Comment_3948585
Because it shows a double standard, that people feel like killers should "play fair" for survivors, but survivors don't need to "play fair" for killers.
Because if you were really concerned with playing fair for both sides, then why aren't you also announcing that you play survivors in a way that is "fair" for killers? Why are you only concerned with announcing that you play fair for survivors?
I'm not sure if it's a double standard, due to the assymetry of the game. Tunnelling is something any killer player can choose to do from the jump and have it determine the match outcome, whereas flashlight saves are singular occurences, and obviously require a flashlight. Pallet saves are quite rare in my experience. Bodyblocking is the best comparison, but you'd already have to be losing for a succesful bodyblock to influence the match outcome.

Yes. If it's lowering your win rate, it still counts as sabotaging.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3948533#Comment_3948533
Does that mean that if a survivor can achieve escape rates far above 40%, that there is an obvious problematic survivor behavior involved?
But then I have to ask why you care?
I have always despised pursuing ‘optimal’ play, in every game I play. I’m just here to have a good time, not sweat my balls off.

If your kill rate would be higher if you tunneled, then your sabotaging your kill rate by not tunneling. And it raises the question of "if killers should sabotage their kill rate for the sake of survivor fairness, then why aren't survivors expected to sabotage their escape rate for the sake of killer fairness"?
If you are claiming your kill rate would eventually settle down to where it is now, then it's basically saying that players don't need to do strategies that are unfun for their opponents, because MMR will settle it back down to the same amount. And that raises the question of "does that mean survivors don't need to flashlight save or hook sabotage, or do anything else that might be unfun for killers, because they would have the same escape rate if they played "fair" or "unfair" for killers?
Is it really sabotaging when I’m winning the majority of my games anyway?
You’re not supposed to win every game, y’know. I certainly don’t need to win every game. I get rolled sometimes, and that can be frustrating yes, but that’s life.

It's 100% true. Not sure what you're on about. I'm just saying that if you press the Sprint button when being healed, you interrupt the heal and as long as you continue to hold it, you cannot be healed. What about that isn't true?
Mostly the "this serves no purpose part". That was unclear on my end, mb.

Are you claiming your kill rate wouldn’t be higher if you had camped, tunneled, and slugged?
Because if your kill rate would be higher, then you’re sabotaging yourself with these restrictions.
What? No, the opposite. My killrate is at 73% without tunnelling. That's pretty good, I'd say.
So, if I were to tunnel, that would go even higher. For a while, at least, until my MMR has settled.
For the record, I have no objections against slugging (that isn't longer than it has to be), and camping is fair game to me in the endgame.

”Fair for survivors” basically means not doing any killer strategies that might be unfair for survivors. And it doesn’t matter if playing this way lowers kill rates.
“Fair for killers” would therefore, basically mean not doing survivor strategies that might be unfair for killers. And it doesn’t matter if playing this way lowers escape rates.
So really, just make a list of things killers complain about. It would mean never using voice comms for extra game advantages. It would mean no flashlight saves, no pallet saves, no hook sabotages, and no bodyblocking killers. It would pretty much be sabotaging your own escape rate, just so it’s “fair” for killers.
Because that is literally what is happening in this thread. 56% kill rate is really below average. It’s literally sabotaging kill rates, for the sake of survivor “fairness”.
So… you were just being facetious.
I mean, I posted my own stats here as well. I got an-above average killrate as it turns out, and I don't tunnel either, so that last bit seems a touch dramatic.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:

Interesting. According to the patch notes, it should still be possible to ‘go next’ in this specific scenario, yet you can’t.
No wonder why there’s confusion. It’s borked.
-
This isn’t how it works, tho?
If there’s only two survivors left, and one’s on hook, the hooked survivor can speed up the sacrifice as before.
-
@thrive2survive said:
If you hold the Sprint button while you are downed or even injured, you cannot be healed You don't even have to be running to get this to work. Don't move and hold Sprint then see if anyone can heal you. A lot of people don't know this. There really is no purpose for it other than using a perk like Plot Twist successfully without a teammate interrupting you. If someone wants to be downed and not let you heal them just to screw the team over then unfortunately they can do that as well.
I wouldn’t say this is entirely true. When you’re being healed, you are locked in place until the heal is finished, the healer stops, or you stop the healer by holding run.
There have been plenty of instances where my healer wasn’t paying attention, and didn’t see the killer coming, when i did.
-
Pretty sure this from the patch notes is referring to that.

My point is that. The devs obviously care that people are "matched" accordingly based on skill. That by definition means that the game is competitive. DBD is not a party game.
Let me ask you this.
Do you think Mario Party, or Mario Kart match players together with a hidden MMR? Or do you think that they just throw together the first few people with decent ping together?
Mario Kart does, actually. It’s not even hidden either.

That is a fair point, my friend.
I just chose to do it right now because you can't really "go next" anymore. Sure, you can still DC, but that will mean having to deal with an even harsher penalty. While some people will still give up, the way it had been happening until this point is no longer possible.
I guess I’m suspecting that they’ll do a partial revert. That, or people will find a loophole and ‘go next’ that way.
That one “we saved the city” spongebob meme comes to mind.
-
I’d say to wait with retrospectives like this until the measures have had some time to settle. I’m not convinced the ‘epidemic’ is over.

See that would make sense... given things are often 0 indexed... but I checked Dracula's perks and found entries for all of them... and since 0 indexing is likely I also checked Houndmaster (which would be index 37)... and all of hers are there too...
I wonder if Pinhead's/Demogorgon's name changes may have messed up perk indexing... also wonder how general perks are indexed, but if general was 0 as you 'd assume that would correct the misalignment... and I'd still be Dracula or Houndmaster...
Sadly I went to double check this morning... but it looks like the stats refresh has wiped my existing stats and only displays the new stats from yesterday, even on all time view... So probably need to raise a bug for that on the stat tracker...
But yeah... I can't figure out what this perk is logically... I started trying searching for random general perks to see if I could find one missing, and Shattered Hope was one missing... but there is a chance I've never ran it too, so it won't appear in the list 😅
So yeah... I'm stumped...
Wouldn’t Houndmaster be K38? Since Springy is killer 40, Kaneki would be 39, and HM came before him.
Unless Trapper is killer 00?
