I love Freddy, and I am one of the types that believes Adrenaline is overtuned. I always put it in top 5, at least, and in my opinion, the reason we did not see it was because the other 4 were more consistent. That being said, I have to admit, it is cool flavor that adrenaline wakes up survivors. Freddy could use some help... A lot of it. But I kind of like that interaction.
I don't, and Adrenaline is one of my favorite perks in the game.
That interaction was not made to be "thematic".
It was made to nerf him even further.

I wouldn't put lightborn on because flashlights are generally very easy to deal with.
But very few teams all switch to flashlights at the last second because they intend to play normally. I've never in my time playing this game seen four players switch to flashlights last second and end up not facing a bully squad.
But have you seen the elusive bully squad that doesn't last second switch? The ones who already have four flashlights the moment you join the lobby?
Those are worthy of respect.

if Adrenaline countered Terminus, the whole point of the perk would be pointless. It'd be DoA.
Adrenaline countering Freddy is cool though.
Adrenaline waking you up has always been very unnecessary.

What he is telling you is that there is no reason for you to interact or comment on a thread you actively dislike. It just makes the situation worse for you and everyone else.
It is like writing a complaint on a thread which most users are praising something (an appreciation thread, for example).
While you can do it, it doesn't mean you should.

I agree 100%. Tunneling is too rewarding right now. You tunnel someone out early and it's over for them. They made it much easier with the last update. Pretty good job so far.
You said the thing!

@Aven_Fallen said:
The problem is that tunneling has become way too easy. Killers are always claiming that Survivors have so many second-chances, but if they all resolve around Endurance, this does not really help.
Yes, there is Basekit-Endurance and yes, you can increase it with BT. And yes, you can run Off the Record. But all of this is gone after one hit. The Devs can also release 100 Endurance-Perks, this would mean there are 100 Perks against tunneling, but it does not help when all of them get disabled at the same time.
Stacking Endurance was nonsense tho, logical that they have removed it.
However, without DS at 5 seconds, it does not really help to have OTR as "replacement". BT + 5 second DS is a better defense than BT + OTR. Killers also just tunnel and can pick you up without anything, because even if you have DS, 3 seconds (1,7 seconds of distance) are not enough.
I mean, OTR giving Endurance to yourself is a good thing. Because it was just dumb that you had to rely on another player having BT to have a chance to get away after an Unhook. But basing everything on Endurance does not help.
And the worst part is that the Devs were seriously thinking they would do something against tunneling and camping.
This.

Usually, I buy a DLC when I feel like it or really want a specific perk.
The only exception is the ANOES Chapter, which I bought together with the base game. It was one of the reasons why I decided to play DBD in the first place.

Freddy and Freddy.

It's the same thing as when you and others put Freddy on the podium, say he's fine, say he was S tier before his nerf, and say that his original version was the best. I'm beyond words at this point. Where do y'all see the game breaking-ness of these killers, man?
Think of it that way:
You are in a school, and you wish to learn geography. You can talk to every single student if you want to, and they will have their own points to discuss, but the best approach is to talk to a geography teacher, because they are the ones who studied and dedicated themselves to the subject.
Me and Gann went far past the average killer player's process of learning how to play a certain character, and the same can be said about other Forum members and their mains (such as Karu and PH, for example).
To completely disregard the opinion of someone as dedicated as we are and call them "not real" is straight up disrespectful.

Killer adepts became more challenging when Plague came out.
- As of Patch 2.6.0, the Adept Killer Achievements have become more difficult to obtain as the Emblem and Pip changes make it progressively more difficult to achieve a Merciless Victory the higher one is ranked.
Indeed, and even though I was playing before Plague's release, I didn't bother going for adepts all the way back then.
Terrible mistake.
-
Old perks.
-
Funnily enough, the rarest achievement that I have is Adept Twins.
-
Speedhackers, sadly.
-
Can we?

Yep!

I played a Cowshed 1v1 with @TheGannMan and it was a very fun experience.

Nurse is fun.

Saying she's a shell of her former self is a bit too generous. Her nerfs have absolutely ruined her. I don't know how one could even put her in B tier. She can't see or hear the survivors! What is she even supposed to do with her speed or invisibility if she doesn't know where survivors are? How is she meant to be played? She has Mother-Daughter Ring/Cherry Blossom to make her fast and sense survivors, but even then there's no scratch marks. It's no mistake I never play her unless I'm running that combo. Her other add-ons mostly do nothing, and a few do quite something. People say, "She gets to use her power too often!" but being 110% for like 15 seconds with no other ability is terrible, so naturally they call her recharge add-ons OP. People also say, "Just use her power in short bursts" but her start-up animation takes SO LONG that you almost lose as much distance as you gain when you phase, which almost forces you to run her quicker start-up add-ons (which should be base). And for the millionth time, you can't just rectify all this by wearing a "$1000 headset". There's no way to straight-up hear survivors better, because the base game's sound for survivors sucks. The "Spirit + headphones = EZ win" equation is the biggest myth in this game's history.
TheGannMan can say that nothing's changed and that she's S+ tier all he wants. It's not real.
Yeah sure, the opinions of someone who has put a LOT of time and dedication into Spirit is clearly not real.

Survivor map offerings don't take priority over a killer's map offering.
-
Even though I hate current DBD, I really don't think it was a waste of money.
After all, I had tons of fun when I bought the game, all the way back in 2018. DBD used to provide me with a level of enjoyment that no other game could.
And those golden days were worth it. I would buy the game and all of my DLCs again, if it meant returning to a better time.
-
Of course!
More than anyone does.
-
Freddy, old version in particular.
The killer I love most.
-
Mine was with Old Freddy in the past.
I don't remember the number of trials, never really kept count, but I do remember it ended because of a key.
-
Ruin's nerf was unnecessary...but I didn't even like "New" Ruin anyway, so it doesn't really matter.
If the perk is going to stay that way, there is no reason for it to remain a Hex.
-
Ghostface.
No point in having "reveal" as your main counterplay when you can't reveal him because it doesn't work.

Okay, thread over. When GeneralV says something shouldn't go back to its old state, you know it was messed up. :P
But yeah, the nerfs to both Self-Care and DS were baffling. So was bringing back PR/DMS, honestly.
Truer words have never been spoken :)
-
Freddy.
Even if I HATE his current power, he will always be special for me.
-
The developers themselves have sabotaged the horror and thrill of the game by ruining the maps and taking away things like the Moonlight offerings.
A spin-off has nothing to do with it.
-
This achievement is mostly a matter of luck, to be honest.
I got it in 2019 against an AFK Huntress.
-
Self-Care and DS are better options, imho.
Dead Hard should have been nerfed back in 2017.

The license price doesn't change with the upgrade.
When you upgrade the engine, there is a conversion. Worst case scenario, some code needs to be adapted but it's never very different. It's not like if UE5 was an entirely new engine.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3117550#Comment_3117550
Changing engine, no. Upgrading the version, yes. They've done it in the past.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3117600#Comment_3117600
But was it because of an engine change, or just because they tend to mess-up a map or two after each new release?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3117779#Comment_3117779
It is, they've done it in the past.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3117829#Comment_3117829
It would be surprising. The engine doesn't suddenly becomes slower with upgrades. UE5 is a power-house. It can do way bigger scenes than its predecessors. It implies it potentially can do the same scenes faster.
Engine change.
-
Hopefully never.
Engine updates usually mess the maps up. It happened before, around Legion's release.
-
Then do it.
-
It has never been a problem.
-
Now that is very impressive, my friend. Congratulations!
I only managed to do something similar once, with a Winter Party Starter long ago. It is a good memory, because such saves often are.
-
Nurse is, and has always been, fun to go against.
-
Naturally.
I honestly never thought I would miss ranks. Not because I didn't like them, I actually did. But because I did not think BHVR would take a system that was in the game since the beginning and replace it with something that doesn't even work.
That particular line of thoughts did not age well.
-
I never really went for perk combos as a Solo Q player, to be completely honest.
Just my usual build has always been enough.

Go on, explain, please elaborate to the rest of us on how this is a good mechanic...
When Wraith was introduced, it was at the very beginning of the game, Wraith was the only stealth killer and Insidious was the only stealth perk in the game at that time, Lightburnning was introduced as a way to balance him out since there was so little in the game to suppress the killer's Terror Radius. (Keep in mind, old Wraith use to get Lightburned in 1 second and was stunned for 4 seconds.)
It's 2022, and we have a lot of ways of suppressing the Terror Radius to where Lightburnning being the balance for Wraith is outdated, it is punishing a player for using their power on an already weak killer. Other killers do what Wraith does but better, and they dont have to deal with Lightburnning at all.
Lightburnning on Wraith is horrible. On killers like Hag, Artist, and Nurse, it makes sense due to their powers being decently strong, but again, on Wraith, it is outdated.
Nah, don't feel like getting into yet another pointless discussion where neither side will change their minds and will just keep talking and talking until the thread is inevitably forgotten.
I just like the mechanic.

Can I ask about the EGC thing, because I thought it was active to prevent holding the game hostage
Sure!
I hate it. Always hated it, ever since it was first introduced to the game.
If people holding the game hostage was as common as some people say, which I highly doubted, I strongly believe it should have been solved differently.
-
It is a good mechanic.
-
Favorite: Freddy.
Least favorite: Ghostface.
-
DBD hasn't been truly survivor sided for a VERY long time.
-
I honestly just want the reworked maps reverted.
It doesn't even have to be a forced change, merely an option to choose between the older and the newer style.
-
-Not a single version of Freddy was weak enough to be considered low tier.
-Leatherface did not require a full rework.
-Endgame Collapse is a terrible and unnecessary mechanic.
-Blight sucks to play against.
-
Self-Care desperately needs a buff.
It must return to the meta level it used to have.
