Hey, please post bugs and issues here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
-
Huntress hands down is my forever babe. She can crush me with her thighs any day she wants to.
-
We have a reporting system, WHICH I have commented above and how to use it and no, we don't ignore things. Report them and the ACM team will handle it.
Please check out the post I posted before in which I explained and posted a link to the rules that explains a few things about reporting something in the game.
-
The synch error is known and being investigated by the devs. I know it's terrible, but they're looking into to find a fix. Please be patient.
-
If someone uses a slur, you can report them in the endgame (a in-game report is mandatory) and send additional evidence to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com You can read here more: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
Please be assured that the team takes such offenses very serious and they're handled with professionalism. Read through the rules, there's more explained to it, but please know that slurs are something we definitely don't tolerate in the game.
-
Everything is handled by a case by case basis. You might not be informed when a action is taken or which action is taken - not everything restulsts in a permanent ban immediately. So punishments might be handed out, but they're not immediately permanent bans.
Also proof has to be sent to the DBD support and not Steam support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com Please send it there instead of Steam support and explain that you have reported them already before.
-
It has been acknowledged and they're working on a fix. They do care, but some things can't be fixed as quick as others. I totally get it's frustrating, but please be patient - it's being actively looked into.

From what I can tell, it seems like the Nightmare Edition contains the following:
The Curtain Call Chapter
Shattered Bloodline Chapter
Stranger Things Chapter
The tagline says it features the original award-winning game. Would that be the The Last Breath?
The Last Breath is the chapter with Nea and Nurse, that should be included in the base game itself. Shattered Bloodline is Spirit and Adam, Curtain Call Kate and Clown and Stranger Things Nancy, Steve and Demodoggo which are genereally paid DLCs.
Edit: The Hag and Doctor DLC should also be included for free in the game.

This was not meant as any hate. It's purpose was to try and help the devs by brainstorming what might be wrong if it's actually not working correctly. A lot are saying the same that everything is reversed and a few are saying they seem to be fine for the most part.
It might just need a higher point system for a bit to get players in a spot quickly then reduce it a bit after a week so good players will be removed from lower matches faster, reducing the overall stress on new players, in general. What are your thoughts on it, if you don't mind me asking? Also, hi. I don't believe I've seen you before. I've only seen 3 mods so far reply. Nice to meet you.
Well, as there are some things not working as anticipated, we should wait until those have been tackled actually. It might then work as intended, but there isn't much information I can share or have at hands. I think then suggestions can be made about it.
Also nice to meet you too. I have been here for a while, just went a bit MIA due to exams.
-
I do have to say, I understand if you want to make a thread to point things out, but looking at this: The title and the image are the only information given. If you want to put out a statement like this, try to reason why you think that, because with just this image, it's not much to work with and frankly, not really constructive in any shape or form. The devs communicate so much on the forums with the community and respond to threads as much as they can, so if you feel like this, a explanation why you feel like this would be for the best and not just this image.
The image doesn't help to properly point out why you feel this way and what you think could be done differently... So sorry, but please try to at least voice your criticism in a manner that can possibly help people to understand why!
-
Well we do have Jane and Jeff, too.
-
The save file is saved on the backend, so you should be fine playing on someone elses machines. It's basically like you're switching PCs, you can still play the game and keep your previous progress.

Excellent! Thank you very much! Killing it as always Myers! 😎
Well, the knife isn't just for decoration after all *sip*
-
I added the channel for you in the OP so it's easier :)
-
I'm excited to see this. Reminds me of the group that made a fan movie of one of my other favorite games... Makes me a bit nostalgic and excited! I'm happy and excited for you.
-
There are certain things that aren't working as intended. It has been noted and we're aware and looking into.
Some changes have been made to the backend and I think there will be further changes happening, but that's nothing I can really confirm. Once we have more information, it will be shared with the community.
-
I do like the MacMillan maps, but I have this phenomenon: Each time I load on any map, I will always say "I hate this map." So, I like maps, but also hate them.
Only if I load into any of them.
-
While I can't go into details as to how the MMR is supposed to work, we're are aware of certain things that are not working as intended. We're giving this our full attention and will hopefully have more information shortly. So please remain patient.
-
First of all, I'm really sorry that you're having a unpleasent experience. I hope it will get better soon.
If you believe that someone is cheating, you can report them in the end game by clicking where their name is. You have to submit a in-game report and any additional evidence can be sent to support. Read more about it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules
Also in regards of the matchmaking... We're aware that there's certain things that are not working as intended with the new mm, so it might be related to that. I know it's frustrating and I'm sorry for that, but please remain patient. We're giving this our full attention and will hopefully have more information shortly.
-
Hey, we are aware that there are certain things that are not working as intended, we are giving this our full attention and will hopefully have more information shortly. I'm sorry that it currently is ruining people matches right now, but it's being looked into. It's all I can tell you right now.
-
Also I do think no. It will make it hard if we want to continue contests and BHVR has a dedicated art team full of awesome people that incredible creativity. Businesswise speaking, like pointed out before, it wouldn't make munch sense either.

@batmanscar said:
the pink suit of the clown was done by an outside source @all the replies so there are a lot of talented artists so I think this would benefit BHVR , BHVR do not need to pay just accept submission and put them in the shop and if they are purchased then the earnings would be split between BHVR and the artist @mandy

With all due respect, you didn't quite read what i wrote.
The devs stated that the system has been tracking your ranking for the last few months, but wasn't being used yet for matchmaking purposes. So it should have a general idea of your MMR (not perfect since it wasn't matching based on it, but it should at least be in the ballpark). And these are matches with me playing on my MAIN killer i play several games with a night. Here are the facts.
- I have 1k hours played
- I am rank 1 every month for the last year or so.
- I have played hundreds of games the last few months
- I have played 50 or so games in that time as nurse
- I have played 30-40 games in the last few days since MMR has been turned on.
- 15 or so of those games have been as nurse.
- My last nurse game i played earlier today i got 3 rank 20s and a rank 5. the rank 5 had 200 hours played, 1 of the rank 20s bought the game yesterday on sale, the other had played for 20 hours. I'm unsure on the last because their profile was private.
The way skill rating is calculated is hidden, so I can't comment on that. Please give it some time, this is the main emphasis on giving it some time.

This ignores one of the statements made in the thread you linked:
Ratings are initially based on your performance over the last few months, while the system has been collecting data in the background.
This is obviously not happening, because i played easily hundreds games in the last few months. Easily 50+ on nurse alone, and i'm getting survivors with literally 4 hours played who just bought the game on sale on my 1k hours nurse...
This is out of one of the Q&A threads.
Q: For Killer specific Matchmaking: How will ratings work for newly released Killers? (e.g. Do you start from 0, or is it based on your other ratings?)
Every time you start playing a Killer that you haven’t played before (either because they have just been released, or because you have decided to try something new to you), your rating with that killer is weighted based off your ratings with other killers. If your Rating is relatively high with your other killers, then your default rating with a new killer will be weighted upwards somewhat. Regardless of where this weighted rating ends up, the system zeros in on a 90%+ accuracy within ~10 matches. The intention is to give you a head start towards playing balanced (and fun!) matches as quickly as possible.

I do this but with No Mither & Dead Hard instead of Unbreakable.
That sounds interesting. Might give that a try!

Well, great minds think alike :D
It definitely sounds like a fun build, I'll have to test it out soon!
Definitely try it out! Lots of fun to be had.

Speedy Crawling plus Flip-Flop. I like it. Might I suggest Boil Over to complete the build?
NEVERMIND THERE NEVER WAS A FOURTH PERK OF CHOICE. I completely forgot I use Boil Over in the build too. My scatter brain has left me. See, I got distracted.
It's a fun build and usually brings joy! In some situations it has helped me 😁 But I use it mainly, cause it's fun more than anything else!

I have a buddy that LOVES Flip-Flop. He has complete faith that it will save him and it honestly has sometimes too.
As for Deerstalker, it's saved my butt a few times when I lost a Survivor on the ground lol
You would be amazed seeing me play. I see something interesting and look away. A lot. I'm easily distracted. So deerstalker saves me a lot of time.
I will take Flip-Flop to the grave with me. It has saved my butt many times. I have a combo I do really enjoy, which is Unbreakable + Tenacity + Flip-Flop and whatever fourth perk.
Let's say... it doesn't work a lot, but it can be fun!
-
Flip Flop. I don't know why, but I have started playing with new builds and I have found a build I really enjoy, but only with Flip Flop. I know, not the best perk, but it brings me joy. Well okay, one of the reasons is that both my hands are damaged, so when it comes to wiggling, it does make it easier for me.
For killer it's mmh... Deerstalker. I keep getting distracted quickly, so I tend to use it to find whoever I wanna find again.

The matchmaking has been updated. You can read up on it here: Link 1, Link 2 and Link 3.
It has been activated on PC and Consoles.
Ranks don't matter anymore. The game will calculate your skill rating and match you based on that with people in the similar skill rating. As it was just implemented, it might be mismatched, but the more you play the better it should get. Give it some time and it should adjust itself.

but because myself and multiple people are being matched against people with hundred, hell even thousands of more hours against them, who we can at least assume would be better players (there are more factors behind what makes a good player, yes, but time spent in the game is a biggie), would that mean our MMR number would plummet because of being pitted against players who can literally and figeratively run circles around killers, or killers who can cream survivors?
In regards of hours - hours aren't a clear indicator either of someone's skill. There are players who have a lot of hours, but they have a average game performance. There are people with little hours who have a good game performance, of course this can be reversed again.
Yes, i'm aware of cases of people who have just started out, but it goes back to the fact that the new MM was just recently implemented.
While I cannot give clear answer in regards how it's calculated or whatsoever, it could happen, but then you can build your skill rating back up.
-
Yes, it has. A few times. Sometimes it w as wanted and sometimes not. But the Pig Traps are meant to delay the game rather than to serve to just kill, but obviously I have died to them

@Gay Myers (Luzi) The Q&A thread that you linked to has PatBrutal saying, "We’re specifically monitoring the experience of new players to ensure the system doesn’t immediately throw them games where they are hopelessly outmatched, and we have a few techniques that we’re implementing already to help with this."
Are these "techniques" just not working or have they not been implemented yet?
Like it mentions in some of the other links, it takes time for it right now. It only has just been activated. Tweaks and adjustments can be made to the matchmaking along the way,

so what do we do in the meantime? put up with it for an undefined amount of time? just dont play for a couple weeks? the latter seems the safest, because if you just 'put up with it' then your MMR is gonna be lower than what it should be due to the amount of rank 1 survs against yellow rank killers and vice versa. (for frame of reference, im a rank 10 killer playing doctor against usually rank 1 Sweat With Friends)
Ranks don't matter anymore - you don't get matched up based on whether someone in green rank or red rank. The skill rating matches you up based on performance and as it just has been quite recently implemented, the system might take some time to adjust your current skill rating. Which means the best way to get better matches it play continously.
-
It can be very clear if a player was forced to do so. Examples: player wanted to get out, but kept getting downed and not sacrificed or a survivor is forced to do all gens, etc.
These are just examples. It's handled case by case basis.
-
Things are handled as a case by case basis. Farming is not recommended, as some users might not want to do it and it's hard to express that in the game. Please remember that forcing a player to farm with you against their will, is most certainly a reportable offense under the griefing category.
I can't give you a clear answer, I'm sorry. If the player was not forced and admits to it, then you should be okay, but if they didn't want to farm it can fall under the griefing category.

Does that mean if you unlock a new Killer that you have never played, you automatically get put against the strongest people and then slowly rank down? I played 4 matches as Deathslinger now in total and every single match has been against some red ranks. I managed to get 4 kills in my 2nd match only because one person killed themself on the hook, if that didn't happen it surely would've been another 4 people escape.
So if you say it requires 10 matches to calibrate, how come the first 4 matches are all exclusively against red rank Survivors while I am a total noob...?
I hope the "Skill rating of a Killer" is not based on an universal performance rating of that specific Killer but the actual player that controls them???????
Statistics have shown that red rank does not equal the player being good. Previously it was possible to get red ranks by playing the game more than enough - that's something which changes with the new MMR. You might be put up by red rank players, but the possibility is that their MMR rating isn't as high despite them being in red ransk. They might have just played enough before. This post goes a bit more into detail about it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173606/news-matchmaking-update
Here is another post you can check out with Questions asked by the community being answered. The last one explains a bit more in regards of playing a new killer that you haven't played before:

Skill rating my ass, he unlocked his killer two hours ago, why is the game throwing red ranks with probably more than 1k hours at him ? If ranks don't matter, what does ? We saw daily complaints about people with 2 hours in playing with vets, I'm askin' you, what matters ? Currently the MM appears to be "Eh, just put them at random until it matches sometimes" Surely there is a metric, surely there is restraint with the mm, because clearly it doesn't look like there is any kind of median whatsoever.
It has been explained before that it takes some matches for the skill rating to go into effect properly in that regard, if it's a new killer of if you have started a new game.
-
The MMR has changed, basically the rank numbers do not matter in that regard anymore. You get matched based on the skill rating of the killer you're using. Here's a Q&A that goes into a bit of detail about it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/179192/community-questions-skill-rating-matchmaking

Basically, ideas that are shared on our forum can be used for the game in the future - that's why we have this section of the forum, and we have this disclaimer to advise our Users that this can happen.
-
I think it falls under the same thing like the Entity imagining worlds, but not getting it quite right. That they grab things from the real world sort of to speak, that might be a way.
Maybe lorewise it could be explained to keep the survivors and killers entertained?
-
No, that shouldn't really be bannable, but it is patched like others have said.
-
To clarify some things: There are reasons why we might skip escalations, some of them are listed here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/137-forum-rules (it's best to check out the whole Rules & Info link though.) We do not comment on bans publicly, but privately to ensure the privacy of the users involved.
I recommend reading the forum rules and getting familiar with them. If you have any questions, we have a dedicated moderation team that will gladly answer your questions and concerns. Here's a list that has all the Community Moderators as of now listed. Please contact them and not other people from the list.
There are higher ups you can contact: The Coordinators, which are me and @MandyTalk. You can contact us on our walls on the forum here and we will get to you as soon as we see it. Please keep in mind that forum bans are not appealable itself though.
