Yui isn’t on the same scale as Jeff’s pure volume of grunting
Also in an unarmed fight I’d say Jeff would win
You haven’t seen what Yui did to that stalker then

The knife would be embedded into her torso before her instincts registered what happened.
Yui is tough enough that even if she did get stabbed, she would pull through and finish the fight.

Claudette will just teleport to Yui's shadow and stab her before she can realize what happened. Yui stands no chance!
Yui has incredible instincts that she doesn’t even need to see.

Can she have a cooler beard then Jeff though? Don’t think so.
You see Jeff is so loud when injured that he actually intimidates the killer
Yui’s loud and has a cute voice. It’s so cute that killers will spare her.

Oh yeah. Yui is a literal angel, she can do anything.

Claudette can travel from shadow from shadow. She can beat Yui at any race.
Yui beat up a stalker with a knife that evaded her home. I think if Yui and Claudette fought, Yui easily wins.

Incorrect. Claudette is the Supreme Survivor. None can match her majesty. Not even the entity can control her. She moves between the worlds harnessing the power of shadows and only enters the entity's realm when she seeks to torture the poor killers.
Go watch the Cursed Legacy DLC trailer and watch Yui on that bike. She’s such a badass and no one can outrace her. Yui’s the best and it’s just facts.

Cause this is like one example this ######### seems to be constantly happening. I always see people send verbal abuse in chat the discord when I was in it was a complete ######### mess of racism and homophobia. Like every DBD platform I go to there is always someone or some group of people being awful people.
I really don’t see that much toxicity. I see entitlement but there’s a huge difference between that and toxicity.

How exactly does one person being an ######### automatically make the whole community bad?

Hey, it's not a competition.
Jeff is cool in the way that your dad or uncle is; he's a really creative, friendly, and smart guy with a huge heart and a lot of stories to tell. (The guy takes care of dogs without homes. He's literally a hero.)
Yui is cool in the way that an action hero is; she never says die, gives zero [BAD WORDS], and overpowered the stalker that broke into her home with a knife. (Everyone likes to say David could take Legion in a fight, but Yui canonically did)
You may personally appreciate one type of cool more than the other, but that doesn't mean they don't both have merit, y'know?
I didn't mean it like that. I just really want to show how much Yui means to me. I'm just joking when I say she's objectively the best survivor because at the end of the day, the best survivor is all of them. It's just a matter of which survivor that someone likes the most. For me, it's Yui.

Jeff is objectively the best since he requires the most skill to play
Have to disagree. Yui is the best and takes the most skill.

If we are going off this list, then yes.
However, anyone who plays DBD even a bit knows Jeff is the best survivor.
Listen, I like the characters in DBD. Most of them are cool but no one even competes with Yui.

Yui is objectively the best survivor

Then how come I haven't lost to a single nurse since crossplay came out unless my whole team died first?
Because chances are, you have played against bad Nurses. Bad Nurses are easy to beat, but what makes Nurse unbalanced is if you master her, survivors literally can’t do anything.

@Blueberry said:
Favorite killer to play against and as.
She just punishes bad survivors and most survivors on average are quite bad. I've had no issues facing Spirit at rank 1 for thousands of my play time hours. If I can do it, so can everyone else. This is also just through play style, it gets significantly easier if you actually happen to be running specific perks (it isn't necessary to run them though). Those perks also aren't asking significant commitment from you either as most those perks are literally meta already and are just good in general against all killers.
It almost sounds like you’re insulting survivors’ skill when you say they’re bad because they can’t counter Spirit. Ussylis and Zubat hate playing against Spirit just as much as most people and they’re some of the best players I’ve seen play, but because they can’t counter Spirit, that makes them bad?
What is the counter play then? Is it throwing a pallet and hoping she ended up on the wrong side? Survivors’ skill is meaningless against Spirit because there is no indicator on what she’s doing. I don’t want her nerfed to the ground, I just want her to give actual reasonable counter play while remaining viable and fun to play, that’s all.

Mastering survivor with your friends wins you the same amount of matches. Tourneys between top tier nurse and swfs go both ways in the win column. Luckily both are actually four leafed clovers, I really only see nurse players knowing how to counter her.
We aren’t talking about SWF in this thread, this is about Spirit and Nurse. I’m aware that there are things both sides have that are unfair because I play both sides. Your comment is a prime example of whataboutism.

But to truly reply to you. Don’t assume that “I don’t know what the issue is”. Because have mained Spirit in the past and still play her (not nearly as much though). I think she’s very fun to play and I’m gonna play whoever I want.
She used to be extremely broken and she got a bunch of changes that made her more bearable. People will always complain about her regardless.
She only needs a few changes. Letting the survivors have a clear indication of when she is phasing. Maybe also small glimpses of her while phasing similar to old Freddy. Her actual power itself is not going to change but making it so the survivors have more information to work with while she is phasing would be the only thing she probably needs.
People will still find a way to complain though.
All people want from Spirit is an indicator she’s phasing and to be more interactive to go against, that’s all. People like me don’t want her nerfed to the ground. Believe me, I used to main Spirit and wanted her changed to make her more fair to go against but right now, she just isn’t fair and is too easy to get good with.
-
She may take a lot of skill to play, but she ignores every defense survivors have. Mastering her is a guarantee win almost every match which isn’t balanced.

Spirit is not a snowball killer. Nurse, Myers, Oni, Twins, and Plague are arguably better at snowballing than Spirit is. Sure she can end chases easily but she still has a recharge on her power and is 110%. She’s not downing the entire team in 30 seconds like an Oni or Myers.
I don’t think you understand what the issue is with Spirit. It’s not about who can snowball the best or down survivors quickly. It’s about the lack of interaction she has when it comes to playing against her. Survivors have no way of telling what she’s doing which turns it into a blind guess for survivors. It’s not fun and rewarding gameplay, especially for the fact almost anyone with headphones can pick up Spirit and 4k most matches.

She definitely requires skill (Though not as much as blight imo) but she literally breaks the game when learnt
Pallets? Nah
Windows? Nah
Walls? Nah
That is definitely a problem. Mastering Nurse is an instant 4k 99% of matches. That statement should illustrate how unbalanced this killer is.
-
@Phasmamain said:
I think I’ve made my opinion clear but this killer pretty much goes against everything that made playing against a killer fair
The only killer who is more unbalanced is nurse
Nah. Nurse I agree is unbalanced but at least she requires a ton of skill.
-
I’m glad that I stopped maining her. Just wear a headset and you’ve mastered her in like 5 games. She’s atrocious to go against and can be fun to play as but all those times I’ve played her is a lost cause because she isn’t fun anymore to me. She needs a rework badly because she’s the most unhealthy killer for the game right now.
-
Haddonfield is equally oppressive as having to write a 3-page essay for Literature class that’s due in less than 24 hours. This map is atrocious and needs a serious overhaul.
-
Soul Guard only works when recovering from the dying state. Are you getting it mixed up with Borrowed Time?

Those loops work but he might be running into people doing the J flick so it's possible hes having a harder time than he should as a new player
They did say the J-flick was going to be removed right?
-
Yui is higher. Any Means Necessary isn't that bad of a perk as it can be very useful in comms and for helping save resources. It's situational but the value you can get out of it makes the perk heavily underrated imo. Breakout is also situational but it can save lives. In specific builds with Sabatuer and Empathy, Breakout can be so fun to use. I remember one time against a Ghostface that Breakout actually came in clutch and saved my teammate's life. Lucky Break is the only perk that I won't argue because it is pretty trash and needs a rework desperately. Overall, I'd say Yui belongs in D tier.

Good tactics are to break LoS, put objects in between you and Blight, take sharp corners, and try to make as much distance as possible to force him to use extra charges for his power. Short car loops are your best bet against Blight. He can't really use his power at loops like that, so he'll need to chase normally as an M1 killer in those scenarios. Blight really shines the most at T and L walls, shack, and jungle jims. Against a good Blight, it's very tricky to avoid him at these tiles, but what you can do is predict where he's gonna slam and try to juke and confuse him while you're right on top of him. It's kind of like getting really close to Billy and juking him while he's back revving. It's not a guarantee it will work, but it can throw them off and it can help with figuring out if he has any slam duration add ons. You can also Dead Hard into him while he's rushing towards you, you can hop in lockers because he can't check lockers while he's using his power.
I did my best to explain good tactics against Blight, and I hope I was helpful.

Because running at incredibly high speeds and bouncing off walls is fun. Placing snares & teleporting isn't. And Spirit is too easy, so much so that survivors kill themselves on hook a lot of the time, though personally I like playing her addon-less with meme builds.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2075582#Comment_2075582
Amen.
As a retired Spirit main, I do the same thing. I've probably only played two Spirit games in the past two weeks because of how easy and oppressive she is to go against.
-
He's just very hard to get good with. He's a solid A tier in the right hands because he has map mobility and great lethality. Blight being hard is what makes him look worse than he really is. Why would anyone play Blight if they can get the same results with Spirit or Freddy with less effort?
-
Ha I love it. You are a very positive influence for the community :)

Yes, he was. He could be instantly revealed by survivors (1 second) and he emitted a global sound warning every time he activated his power.
My gosh. So much for being a stealth killer. Glad they fixed that and he’s a pretty solid killer now.
-
Well maybe DS deserves it after all the headaches it caused.

@GeneralV said:
I can understand complaints about NOED on other killers, but Trickster really needs it. I mean, the only killer that managed to be weaker than him was PTB Ghostface. Let him have his NOED.
I wasn't around when Ghostface was on the PTB. Was he really that bad?
-
Maybe this can be something the devs can temporarily implement and gather data to see if it works well. It’s not a bad idea.
-
I just wanted that Yui skin that came out. It is so cool.
-
DS is fine, I’ve been able to use it a few times against killers who actually tunnel, not killers that try to do their objective wholesomely.
-
@Zaytex said:
You can't win in the 1v1. His power makes it so you lose regardless of what you do. Drop the pallet? He uses his wave attack. Don't drop it? He hits you normally.
The control of the interaction is completely in his control because even if you fake the drop or something, it takes him a second to cancel the attack and hit you normally.
It's like Spirit or Nurse, split up and do the gens ASAP. That's the counterplay.
Yeah. It’s kind of a shame some killers are like that. That’s why I love playing against Billy or Blight because when I get downed by them, I usually complement the killer player because they made a great play.
-
Absolutely. It will encourage less tunneling which would be more healthy for the game. The threat of having DS could be just as impactful as being able to use it, so I really think this should be implemented.
-
@Eninya said:
Break line of sight, so he has to guess with his power. He's one of the easiest killers to bait because of this reason. Just never let yourself get trapped in a position where he can guarantee a hit, such as a tight corridor with no way out or LoS break.
Breaking LoS is a good strategy, but I feel like a good P Head will be patient and just wait to catch up to you. They’ll only use their power at loops and right on top of you, which is where I struggle the most.

It's the Nurse/Spirit situation where if it's a good Pyramid Head that's exactly how it's gonna feel. But if it's not then it's not so bad. I think the best you can do is to not vault windows when he's close, because you're almost always only gonna get hit with his power when you're locked in an animation and that's bound to happen eventually. As for pallets...you're on your own with that one lol it's a lose-lose unless the PH messes it up. It's a bit similar to Huntress' 50/50 at pallets except PH isn't punished as much for it and you probably won't get another loop out of the pallet if he tried to bait and you guessed right unless it's a short pallet.
Yeah that is true. It does feel like I have no control over it. I just wonder if there is anything I can do to help me avoid a situation like that in the first place.
@AVoiceOfReason said:
If he buttrides you with his power, he'll always get a hit. He'll hit you while throwing the pallet or if you fake it, he'll just cancel and M1 you. They tried to give it a buffer between canceling but it doesn't work.
Yeah, his rework didn’t really fix the issue. Otz even proved that I think.

you need to avoid that by running away earlier, distance is vital against pyramid
if you are stuck in that situation don't drop pallet, preserve it for later and run to another loop instead
even running to the corner of map is effective if all loops are used
Yeah I guess. It’s just when he does eventually catch up, I’m stuck in that situation where nothing I do matters.
-

His entire shtick is the 1v1. It's intentionally not fair.
Pre-drop pallets or hope he falls for window fakes.
I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks his current ability is unfair. Thanks for the response.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
have you tried dropping pallets before he has enough range and time to prepare its power and launch? if you do that, you can loop and prediction attacks are easy to dodge with good reflexes. pyramid will eventually hit you but it will take time depending on loop size, prepare to run away straight to another loop with injury speed boost
Yeah I have, but it doesn’t always seem to be a guarantee counter. If he does stick his sword in the ground before I can get to the pallet, I will throw the pallet and get hit by the shock wave or I’ll not drop the pallet, pick his sword up, and he’ll catch up to me anyway.
