Soul Guard has changed?

Before the recent patches Soul Guard worked after being saved from the hook.

It always helped me against tunneling after unhooking.

Now Soul Guard is not working anymore.

Something has changed?

Comments

  • If that was the case it wasn’t intentional

  • Are you sure that was Soul Guard and not someone else's Borrowed Time?

  • Soul Guard only works when recovering from the dying state. Are you getting it mixed up with Borrowed Time?

  • Did it? If it did I'm sure it wasn't intended.

It's only supposed to work after being healed or picked up from the dying state.

Also, the unhookers may have been using BT.

I'm 100% sure that i had no Borrowed Time effect.

Soul Guard was active all the time and allowed me to take a second hit.

Borrowed Time: gives the "Endurance" status effect for 10/12/15 seconds (which really annoys me, btw, flat increases please BHVR) to the unhooked survivor when theyre unhooked within the Terror Radius.

Soul Guard: gives the "Endurance" status effect for 8 seconds after being healed from the dying state.

Recently BT got a change to the timers, it used to be a flat 15 seconds of Endurance then 10/15/20 seconds of Deep Wounds, however the basic functionality hasn't changed since patch 2.4.0, when the "Deep Wounds" status was introduced to the perk.

In other words, Soul Guard has never done that.

I always used Soul Guard and was able to take a hit afterwards. And i remember that the perk was active for at least 5 seconds after unhooking myself, i relied on it every match.

Maybe it was a bug? i really don't know.

If it was a bug more people would have abused it & used the perk. I'm pretty sur it was your team mate having BT which give the exact same effect.

You likely had the BT effect.

Soul Guard never worked like that and I have not seen any bug reports of anything similar.
