To be honest, I used to care. I used to do everything I could to give killers a good amount of BP and play nice, including self sacrificing myself. Sometimes it was appreciated and the rest of the times I'd have EZ thrown in my face.. eventually I got tired of it.
I used to care.. until killer mains repeatedly told me "Your fun isn't my responsibility." So I learned from them. Granted sometimes I'll still be nice when it looks like they're struggling... but the same is never returned when I'm struggling. Instead they use it to their advantage and I kick myself for being such a schmuck.
I used to care until I came to the realization that killers don't see me as person behind the screen, so I've been trying to do the same.
-
I've had a few Spirits slug everyone within the first few minutes and left everyone to bleed out.
A irihead Huntress, not too long ago did the same thing.
A Plague recently hitting me on hook in the basement the entire game. I only held on so everyone else could get out and thankfully they did.
A Doctor who wouldn't let my girlfriend do anything. Killed me and the other two randoms, then kept her alive to shock, drop, pick up, and repeat to the point she ended up in tears and took the DC penalty just to get out.
These are just the ones off the top of my head from recent games. Not to mention the countless hateful End Game chat messages from killers, which all of the above also were guilty of.
Anyone who says toxic killers are rare don't play enough survivor to know any better.
-
Eyy, just as a lot of people around here like to call tunneling and camping a "strategy", so is playing immersed, considering that is the only way to counter those plays.
-
I'd love a new idea for hooks. There's plenty of times smashing the keys and it still lets go.
The idea of "banning" or even punishing someone who is already breaking their keyboard for this game, or even had a genuine slip up, is pretty dumb though.

Shouldn't be any excuses, if you give up you're trash at the game. Like sorry but my opinion wont change, you're being selfish and f ing other people over because you dong like certain killers or perks, like grow up it's part of the game... you cant get better unless you actually try simple as.
Curious, Do you feel the same way about lobby dodging killers?

I've never been attacked by a Killer in end-game chat. Not once. Not ever. Killers simply do not spew vile comments in end-game chat with the frequency of Survivors. I believe people that anecdotally say it happens, but it's so rare it's not worth mentioning. Meanwhile, Survivor ego is so insanely out of control that their end game salt could carry an entire pretzel company and there are Youtubers that dedicate their entire channel to collecting and displaying all the insane end-game reactions they get from salty Survivors. There is no such Killer equivalent.
Consider yourself lucky then. They can be rotten and malicious asf, and often.
Then again, when you're playing killer you can't really experience another killer in the chat.

And just what do you mean by tunneling? I get accused for tunneling if I spread out all the hooks and just get someone on second hook at all. Nonsense. Last night I walked a dying survivor to the exit gate and let them wiggle free and they teabagged on the way out. This survivor garbage is how you perpetuate toxic killers. Play fair but don't give an inch.
That might have been their weird way of saying 'thank you' or acknowledging your kindness.
There's not enough emotes to communicate things like that unfortunately.

And your point is? Are there some Killers who will dodge because they suspect a SWF? Sure. Are there some Killers who weirdly dodge because they don't like a particular Skin? Sure. But if you read MY post you will see that I point out that MOST Killers leave a lobby for other reasons. In fact, many Solo Survivors now leave Lobbies if they suspect a SWF because the experience they get is downright awful when paired with a team. Being a "Red Shirt" sucks.
If you have an issue with longer Ques, play Killer yourself. The key reason Ques are longer is not people dodging Lobbies, but a disparity in certain regions and time zones between ratio of Survivors to Killers. A much bigger problem is people (usually Survivors) who disconnect in matches at the drop of a hat because things aren't to their liking. Following that issue is the plague of people who commit suicide on the hook and leave the other Survivors holding the bag. If we want talk talk about "dumb reasons" for things, someone choosing to leave a Lobby before a match has even begun is pretty far down on the list. :)
Why ask me a question if you're going to disregard my answer?
I never said ALL killers. I said A LOT of killers. I never said there weren't valid reasons, just as there are valid reasons on both sides. That doesn't change the fact that people dodge over dumb reasons as well.

And you know this how? Shall we call you Professor X? Killers could be leaving a Lobby for all sorts of reasons:
- They forgot to set the correct Rift.
- Real life is getting in the way, and they would rather leave a match before it starts than disconnect.
- They see a Player they have fought before that hacks or uses Lag Spikes.
- They see a Player they have fought before that uses foul language, hate speech, etc. in the chat.
- They see "TV" of some sort in one or more Survivor's name and don't want to be in a Stream.
- They see a group that is made up of all identical Skins and don't want to bother with that.
- They see the tell-tale signs of a Bully Squad, such as a large number of Flashlights.
- They forgot to to change something in their Build from the previous match.
- They recognize an actual "tournament" SWF they fought before, and don't want to fight it again.
- They just decide they don't feel like playing anymore and want to watch some funny videos on youtube.
None of these are dumb reasons, and every single one of them comes up far more often than your theory that people don't like certain cosmetics or Skins (as all Survivors are merely Skins). While I rarely pull out of a Lobby, there are several reasons on this list, numbers 1-4, that do come up for me from time to time. Oddly enough, it is Survivors who cause far more delays by someone exiting the match after it starts to load because they don't like a particular map Offering. In the end, for whatever the reasons, I prefer Survivors and Killers alike to leave a Lobby BEFORE a match starts to load than to do so afterwards or disconnect (or Suicide) in a match.
Read back on this very thread and you can find killers admitting to it.

@EvilJoshy said:
I find it pretty ironic survivors don't want killers to leave if they suspect a swf. On the other hand survivors feel it is their right to leave a match if <insert reason>
/coughdoublestandardcough
It's asking for equality. You want us to go through a match, then killers should be willing to do the same. Not just because they lobby dodged to bully easy survivors.
-
It's not even always SWF.
Killers will dodge for dumb reasons like they don't like certain characters or cosmetics.
Lame asf.
-
Also throwing out that a lot of times SWFs aren't even on comms.
Sometimes it's people who just met in the game before, enjoyed playing together, and sent invites. Like how dare people make friends in the Fog!

Steam profile viewing is built into the game. Players advertise their Twitch with their in-game names. No 3rd party services are used.
If I advertise my Discord in my name it wouldn't be any different then.
-
Are SWFs who happen to be in the same room also cheating?
-
@Jasix said:
Gotta love how some salty killers blame SWFs and comms over and over. I play survivor 60% of time I play and MAYBE 10% of that is with 1-2 friends. I love it when a killer "only" gets a 1-2k and in end-game chat goes off for the survivors being in a SWF... when we are all complete strangers. I literally made a 30 minute video of approximately 20 killers in two weeks freaking out (and acting about as mature as an 11 year old who just discovered the F bomb) and screaming "F'ing SWFs!" when I play solo.
I mean it doesn't surprise me from all the hyperbole and vitriol on these forums from quite a few "killer mains."
This has happened to me quite a bit when playing solo as well.
If SWF wasn't part of the game they'd find some other excuse for their losses rather than looking in the mirror.
-
Everyone saying that using voice comms is cheating should go to the official DBD Discord and warn everyone using the voice chat channels in there. I don't think they know.
-
TBH with how the game has become lately... would anyone be willing to lend their licensed characters to DBD/BHVR anymore?

He has the power of God AND Anime on his side!!!!
-
Hag traps tend to give me bad motionsickness. I don't expect anyone to change the game for me or people to stop playing how they want. I just take the loss.
-
My personal opinion is killers can tunnel and camp all they want. Make the game as unfun for everyone else as they so desire.
Just don't throw a tantrum when survivors decide to play stealthy and/or genrush to avoid such things.
I swear killers want survivors to throw themselves on hooks for the ez wins, but they'll somehow find a way to complain and call survivors entitled for that, too.

Of course they are being sarcastic.
Obviously BHVR will only give 10,000 BP. They have to look after their bloodpoint economy you know.
-
Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear about what happened. And you shouldn't really expect anything from BHVR about this. If this issue keeps effecting your ability to play, just take an extended break from DBD.
They will fix it, hopefully sooner rather than later, but it will take time, and you're better off just doing something else with yours until it's fixed.
(To anyone else, the devs may have the best of intentions, but let's be honest - the reality of the situation is that any given issue with the game is going to at least take around a week to get hotfixed, if not until the next patch or longer.)
Wait, ya'll are getting Bloodpoints??

Debunked over and over. No killer is swinging from across the map. Server desync issue. For each 'hit' that looks like this there is a corresponding miss somewhere else that you aren't noticing, or just think you are that good.
I'm aware that it's desync and not hitboxes. The fact is survivors are still dropping from several feet away and that the desync is favored towards the killer.

@DetailedDetriment said:
This is going to be a huge problem with the upcoming tourney. Killer should get free Brutal Strength to compensate.
Killers already get free hits across the map... so no.

First of all, it's obviously the Survivors who hurt and bullied him.
Secondly, you guys can still beat him with 3 people if he gives you a break just because you're down a man and you will almost certainly teabag him to show "how much better you are" at the gates even if he plays like a good sport.
And last but not least, he might have absolutely no idea that the player is AFK in the first place.
I think I found the guy who was playing your Freddy!!

Amen 👍
Didn't get the idea why undying had to be nerfed
Survivors: give us more stuff to do than only repair gens.
Devs: ok here's undying
Survivors: reeeeee that perk is to strong an rewards bad killers
🤦♂️🤷♂️
If anything, it punished survivors who didn't bother about bones.
It was fine by me and never had trouble with it.
Sam with old ruin.
1 of the reasons it was nerfed was because when newbies try to repair a gen together with veterans and was annoying they could not do it.
The only reason you could do a gen together with a veteran as a newbie was in a swf.
If you play in a swf you know the risks and are willing to take that risk.
Imo there was nothing wrong with the old ruin.
And they could have tweaked it like now so pop couldn't apply on it as long as ruin was up
My Only issue with undying was that it showed auras near every dull totem. With how long it takes to break them the killer was always on you before you could finish destroying it.
-
Wow! Killers who don't lobbylodge SWFs?! I'm actually impressed!
-
Because gens are all a survivor has right now, they can't really do anything else.
-
Do you even play? Killer animations always take priority.

Guess that's one for the killers - and disabling the maps was the right thing.
When survivors were getting stuck in droves on maps with the hill ramp they left that in for weeks.
Not to mention killers would complain that survivors were exploiting the hill if they got stuck because survivors would do gens freely. Meanwhile if survivors got stuck it was free hooks for the killers.
How is the hitbox issue not also exploiting by that logic?

Hi!
Why is the killer I chose a problem? I'm curious now lol.
I chose her because everyone says she looks like me haha. That's it.
Spirit gets a lot of hate in general because she's very strong. A low risk, high reward killer. You'll find lots of threads around here complaining about her and her lack of counterplay.
If you like her you should play her, she gets a lot of hate though. I think it's more towards the killer than the player.
-
I was playing survivor and had that EXACT thing happened. Had to clean up puppy puke and make sure he was okay. Came back to the killer and other survivors giving me heck in chat for going afk. I explained what happened but they didn't care.
-
Tbh you're probably gonna get a lot of heck for your killer choice, too, as bad as that sounds.
Turning messages off is the best option to not see them.. but you don't see the good ones either.
-
Yessss, kick them in the face!!!!!
-
Silly survivors for wanting to do more than lay on the ground. So entitled!
If you don't want to play slug simulator then throw yourself on the hook so killer can get their hard earned 4k.
-
When killers do anything it's a strategy.
When survivors do anything it's every bad word under the sun.
Anything bad that happens in this game is the survivor's fault. Now you have your validation.

I dont get why people laughing at someone bringing noed. I remember playing as trapper with only lv 1 noed as rank 19 killer and my trapper is below lv 5 at that time, and i only manage to get 2k (1 before end game and 1 at the end game). The guy i killed at the game laugh and said "lol noed" while he has 4 lv 3 perks. I had to deal with flashlight spammer and teabags just to do daily mission, not to mention i dont play daily and still have around 30-40 hours playing the game and mainly playing as survivor. Some people have some cool perks and they laugh at me for bringing 1 lv noed the only perk i vring. I dont get it
Think of it as training wheels. You using it at a rank 19 makes sense. You're new and still learning.
Someone who's this guy's rank is like.. he should know how to ride the bike by now.
-
@Healthore77992 said:
Oof, sorry for not holding your hand and letting you escape, i mean, how dare he trying to win, git gud lol.
How dare a survivor want to survive! How dare they want to actually play the game! They should just start the game already laying on the ground, because that's the game they wanna play anyway. /s
On a serious note, I hope any killers that do this aren't the same ones that complain about immersive players at the end. Slugging for the 4k encourages that type of play style from survivors. That's their only option to "Git Gud".
-
Now I'm confused. So are survivors always gen rushing or never doing gens at all?
Hmmm..
-
Infectious Fright is the perk I hate playing against the most.
BBQ + Iron Maiden is the combo I hate playing against the most.
-
I come across those types of survivors often.
It sucks being the only one ever trying while the other(s) does nothing but hide. It feels like I'm punished for actually trying while they're rewarded for nothing.
It's even worse when I'm slugged because of it. Then I can't even move on to another match and they're not gonna take the bait and help. This sometimes makes me wish I played immersed instead.
-
You should join the Official DBD discord, join the voice chats where people are playing SWF together, and tell them this over voice. ;)
-
I don't get it. I love doing bones and it feels like I'm always fighting for them with my teammates.
-
Legit sick of people saying swf cheat when one is lower rank than the rest or one is higher than the rest.
Friends just want to play together. Maybe one is new to the game. Maybe one has been around longer.
Most of the time these people want to goof off and have fun together, they're not out to ruin games for killer's. If anything, they get sweat on just for being friends no matter their play style, because killers tend to check profiles in the pregame lobby and decide then that because they're friends they don't deserve a good time.
Sometimes these friends aren't using comms. Sometimes they were coincidentally matched in a lobby. Sometimes it's people who legit just met the last game and enjoyed their teammate enough to invite them to another game.
I've even been accused of being in a sweaty swf squad AS A SOLO Q on quite a few occasions.
I honestly believe that even if SWF was gone from the game without a killer knowing, they'd still blame their losses on SWF and treat the solos just as horribly as if they were SWFing.
-
You used to be able to jump. I don't see how attempting your three jumps is denying kills.. otherwise they should remove the 4% chance all together.
On the other foot If it's your first hook then.. then it's robbing survivors of their deserved chances to jump and struggle points.
Before it was removed killers used that time to hunt down hatch anyway.
-
I hate her for different reasons. Her traps tend to trigger my motion sickness. After too many of them I have to afk and take a loss.
Otherwise I think she's a cutie.

You have not won. 2 sacrifices and 2 escapes is a tie.
Okay, then a rank 8 killer TIEING with the 'dreaded red rank swf sweat squad' is still something to be proud of.
If he's able to do that then he should be in higher ranks. I honestly see no reason to complain.
-
Tbh, if you're rank 8 getting 1-2 sacrifices against the 'dreaded red rank swf sweat squad' then you already won.
2 sacrifices and 2 escapes is balanced.
Unless you're a tryhard who believes anything other than a 4k is a loss.
-
Something similar happened to me earlier. Ran a Plague through four gens. The basement camped me, hitting me repeatedly on hook during the fifth, and proceeded to trashtalk in end game chat. I can only assume she was mad that she couldn't use her Mori but that still feels over the top.
I had three other games, legit face camped by a pig in one, the other was a wraith who facecamped my teammate. (Both legit standing in front of the hook like guard dogs)
I had one Pyramid Head who played fairly and was a decent person during end game. Unfortunately he was the minority.
I took a month long break or so and just returned to find things haven't changed much.
-
@Huge_Bush If I'm remembering right, the devs have said that killers body blocking in such a way is preventing the survivor from participating in normal game play, which is a reportable offense.
