@Huge_Bush If I'm remembering right, the devs have said that killers body blocking in such a way is preventing the survivor from participating in normal game play, which is a reportable offense.

i DoNt TuNnEl, i JuSt HoOk TwIcE wItHiN 60 sEcOnDs!
Killers who complain about DS will wipe survivors out of games within two minutes or less if DS wasn't a thing. Invincibility or not, there's a reason it exists still.

Do they, though? Maybe if they’re nearby and don’t have any other leads. Otherwise if I’m the killer I’ll go defend nearby gens rather than go to one that is already a lost cause and the survivors presumably have already run away. There are few safer spots to heal than by gens that are already finished.
And if you’d rather run away to fond someone else to heal than you are to fix the gen then it tells me that you have zero long term plan for survival. You’re sure not going to escape with that behavior unless it is through the hatch.
Yes, they do, which is why I stopped allowing myself to get healed after the gen pops.
Killers go to popped gens just as often as they go back to unhook, which is very common. They go to where they know someone is. Especially with perks like Tinkerer being run almost always. With that you likely won't finish the gen before the killer shows up anyway, even with two people on it.
-
IMO getting off a gen to heal is better than finishing it first. Once it pops, killers tend to go towards them because DUH someone is over there. Then there's an injured survivor being an easy target.
If a survivor won't get off the gen to help, then I move on to someone else who will and end up making them a last priority when they need help in return.

They are called new players. I know a lot of you have years in this game, every perk at purple, everyone at level 50, et al.
Some people started during the holidays, and to those new people "Open an Exit Gate with Detective Tapp", who is a level 1 character with no perks, is a gigantic pain in the ass.
As far as new players go, the afk killers are purposely deranking to stomp and bully those very people.

They are NOT the equivalent. At all. A DC'er ends the game. An AFK'er makes it easy mode.
When my new friend needs to unlock a door with Ace for a daily, she can do that against an AFK, she can't against a DC.
Need to unlock 3 chests?
Cleanse totems?
Get a new item and escape with it?
Harvest a Canker?
You can do none of these things against a DCer.
I hate to say it, but if an AFK killer is what you need to get things done as a survivor, then a game like this probably isn't for you.. or your friend.

Not much of a challenge when they are on coms with OoO. No point playing.
Do you say the same thing when it comes to playing against stridor spirits or irihead huntress?
-
Double posted for some reason and I don't know how to delete one. Whoops!
-
AFK killers are the equivalent of DCers. You can't condone one while shaming the other.
SWFs aren't to blame. If killer mains on this forum preach anything, its to accept the challenge or don't play at all.
-
Killer Logic: SWF = Navy Seal Sweat Squads of Death
Actual SWF: Derping around together just trying to have fun.
-
Why slug the last guy? People complain about DCing players.. but you wanted to punish the only one who tried to play anyway? Why?

Killer terror radius, spine chill, premonition, crows, keys allowing you to see where the killer is, object of obsession, swf on comms all give the you a advantage. See what I did there? Do you even play survivor? Maybe at a low skill level because fengs most of the time are trash
And yet if there's only one survivor left, SWF is useless. They can't watch the killer.

Wth is this argument "they're faster and have unlimited tracking advantages" Imagine legion moving at the same speed as a survivor and how do killers have tracking advantages? This is so dumb I want to leave the discussion lol
Scratch marks, crows, on top of perks like whispers, strider, and spies. Not to mention perks that help you see injured survivors and blood trails.. Do you even play killer?
-
Doing bones is easy. Constantly getting chased off of them because undying shows auras is what makes it an issue imo.

A killer should not be denied a 4k because survivor bad = free escape
A killer isn't entitled to a 4K when they fail. They're faster and have unlimited tracking advantages. If a single survivor manages to escape against that then they deserve their escape. Killers are against FOUR survivors, not a 'team, not three and a free kill. FOUR.
-
Why stop there? Why not make the auras visible 100% of the time? Better yet, change the game to remove the 4th survivor all together? They clearly don't count as a player and should just give the killer a free kill anyway.
But then... why should the third keep playing? The first two died, so they should just give themselves up. Guess they gotta get permanent removed, too.
-
Decisive Strike is a thing.
-
Those who unhooked me in front of the killer once with intentions to do it a second time end up wasting their time because I'll suicide on hook as soon as they reach me. Yes it's naughty.. but in those instances I don't care anymore.

I always figured the traps purpose was to keep someone busy and off of gens with the side benefit of killing if ignored, that way piggy can freely go after others.
Their purpose then feels defeated once tunneling happens... like why use the trap in the first place?
-
I actually used to main Jeff. I never realized how hard I had it until I tried someone else for a day and it was suddenly like I was playing a completely different game. Went back to Jeff... and moved onto Feng.
I feel like I'm a huge target and Killers just want me out of the games ASAP at all costs when I'm Jeff(or Adam). Now I can at least play the game.
-
This happens to me more often than not. It's to the point that I don't trust vaulting or dropping pallets unless I'm absolutely desperate because they feel like death traps.

First off, to those who celebrate, Merry Christmas. To those who don't, still happy holidays.
Now for this hilarious match that just happened. The match starts and things go great for me as Freddy. Three people get downed near the basement and I put them in there. Now here's the funny part. I get my teleport and I teleport as far away as possible in hopes that the last person will save everyone (there were bloody party streamers played so I felt bad). Instead, she hid for the entire 2-ish minutes and everyone died on first hook. Then she found the hatch and waited for me, she dropped a pallet on my head then teabagged me and jumped in. I find this hilarious. She literally did nothing all game and she thought teabagging would like show me that I can't catch her and she's better than me or something? Even though she hid and let everyone die on first hook. That was just hilarious to me. When I play survivors I wouldn't have let everyone die on first hook, even if it seemed hopeless I would have tried. So would anyone else?
Gotta ask... was it a Cheryl? I've come across so many that play this way that it's automatically who my brain used to fill in for this story.
-
I honestly miss when hooks could be sabotaged to 99%, but Sabotaging has been nerfed, too. Now it's kinda useless.
-
When playing survivor I try to do this on purpose to throw killers off my trail. Run one way, then backtrack another. Maybe even run loops around objects a couple of times before casually walking away.
It might be survivors doing this on purpose more than the scratches looking like a mess on their own.
-
Asking this in killer dominated forums.. kinda obvious which answers you're gonna get. Ask the other side and you'll get a different answer.
Both sides like to believe they're neglected.
-
I love hunting for bones! Sometimes (quite often honestly) it feels like there's not enough bones in a game for everyone. There are those games I get them alllllll to myself though, but I don't mind because I'm greedy with bones.

Orrr it feels negative because it feels like someone is purposely going out of their way to ruin your experience.
I don't care if I die, a lot of times I sacrifice myself anyway as long as I actually get to play the game. I get killers are here to kill, but it feels very mean spirited when they're denying you the chance to even play the game because they find it fun.
-
I like all the comments saying OP is being toxic and played horribly. Nowhere in the original post did it indicate either of those things.
That's like saying survivors against a cloaked Wraith in the corner deserve depips and deranks.
If the killer can't catch, down, or hook anyone, then survivors aren't going to get any altruism.. therefore that hurts their score and leads to a depip, no matter how well you did at gens or chases. Even just escaping doesn't earn much. You need all four.
-
Sometimes friends and family just want to play together. That doesn't mean they're purposely abusing anything. Survivors aren't always out to ruin a killer's time.
-
They go down every Tuesday for maintenance.

Detectives Hunch. Small Game. Maps/Addons. Distortion. Off the Record.
There, counters, for every aspect of ruin/undying.
But hey - you literally said "I don't want to run this cause I need my DS crutch". That's a you problem. Not a Ruin/Undying problem.
Either use the counters, or don't - but when counters exist, you don't get to complain. I've been playing DBD since 2016, nearly 5k hours in the game. Do you know how much I get tunneled? I honestly don't remember the last time I was truly tunneled.
Running Those four perks all the time just to counter ruin+undying is the epitome of boring.
Also, lucky you for never getting tunneled. That's truly rare, especially since you can read in many recent threads how many killers openly admit to tunneling as their main 'strategy'.
-
Downs 4 survivors and hooks 3 all within 60 seconds... goes for fourth hook still within same 60 seconds.. gets one DS.. loses the game.
Something doesn't quite add up here.
-
I've been accused of hacking a few times. Most notable are when using Calm Spirit, and another because I was the last survivor and managed to open a door and escape before the killer could get to me.
-
If they're SWF then they're both already being punished by the DC penalty. If they want to play together they both have to wait for the time to run out.
-
Some points for being forced to play bait would take a little bit of the sting away when you can literally do nothing else to earn them thanks to the other side playing like ^$*@!)
Whether it's hook camped or slugged.
-
Haaaa... And people complain when survivors play super stealthy with plays like these being made.
-
@Chrisko said:
Would it help to get a Bloodpoint compensation amount for survivors who are camped ,tunneled, mori'd or slugged (for a certain amount of time)? It's not the complete solution but it may help somewhat.
Honestly, that would be better than the ZERO survivors get while being forced to look at the ground for four minutes til death.
-
You should know by now that n o b o d y cares about survivors having fun. I'm getting jaded to a point that I've started to not care either because, honestly, what's the point?
-
I doubt it will get "fixed".
Deadzones have become too big and too many.
RIP pallets.
-
I get motionsick from a lot of First Person POV games. Not all, but some of the killers will make me nauseous to play.
When I do play killer I don't have the heart to kill anyone. I might hang them once or twice, but not kill unless it's for a challenge (or they're purposefully being obnoxious.)
Survivor doesn't give me either of those problems, plus I can on that side of things with my girl because it's one of the only cross platform games we can actually play together without triggering motionsickness.
Until I can afford a Playstation or she can afford a PC, we're stuck playing Dead by Daylight.
-
Had six in a row recently. Life is good. ESPECIALLY that first hook mori.
One killer actually apologized saying they brought it on accident tho. Didn't use it. Thank you, Hag lady.♡
-
There's was/is another thread going on where killer mains say they purposely tunnel down a survivor so they can have 3vs1 for "balance"... while this one they say STOMP THEM BECAUSE 3VS1 IS NO FUN.
Face it. It's really "slaughter because we like it and dgaf about anyone else while making up lame excuses for our behavior."

I recently binged watched the excellent Ted Lasso, and a quote that stuck with me was “winning matters, and that’s ok”.
As long as a killer is playing within the bounds of the game rules, there is no grounds to complain, or expect the killer should play certain way just because someone DC, or because that killer is expected to know the difference between solos and SWF.
A player is allowed to play to win, and that’s perfectly ok.
Does the same go for survivors? Are they allowed to try to win as well because around here that feels like a big NOPE.
-
My experiences are usually Claudette, Kate, and Feng Min working against the team. Last night especially was really bad when it came to Kate to the point we were lobby dodging them.
-
It doesn't matter. Solo, swf, dc disadvantage or not, sweats gonna sweat.
It's funny that it's the same people that complain about SWF that sweat the hardest on disadvantaged solos tho.
-
Hatch games are also being fought for recently because of the "Escape Through The Hatch" rift challenge.
