She has 2 blinks… a good nurse will typically use the first blink to get near you then react to your movement and use her second blink to smack you. That’s IF she didn’t already hit you with the first blink. Sometimes good movement will throw her off and you buy yourself a few more seconds but other than that you’re screwed.
Well same counts for the second blink. As long as a Nurse isn't too close, you have time to react to a blink by judging those tells. And as long as you are dealing with first blinks your movement should lead you to that safe distance for the second one. Besides it's possible to use a pallet to counter the second blink partially. I know people claim that she ignores them, but that isn't completely right, because she has to commit to one of the two sides of the pallet and throwing it can push her blink back/block a lunge.
Anyway of course at some point you will find yourself outpositioned, but that is kinda the rule for all chases, when a killer plays perfect. Doesn't changes the fact, that it takes them still quite some time.
Besides that Nurse isn't comparable to Spirit, because like I said, she has a bunch of tells. You always can see where she will blink to and what she is doing. She has a clear visual and audio feedback of her power.

POV: A Nurse sees you, then times her blink perfectly so she lands right on your butt. You can’t counter that. The only thing you can hope for is that the Nurse messes up her blink (over/under blinks).
Well then you shouldn't stand still in the open. I mean, you can hear a Nurse charging her blinks, you can see the direction she is pointing at and if it isn't a very short/quick charged blink have definitively time to react to it and outposition. She has a lot of tells survivor just ignore.
-
The theme of these teaser goes into witchcraft/wicca. Well we will see where this goes. PTB for midchapter shouldn't be too far away.
-
While Stridor is still more than just enhancing the audio, it's not worthwhile, because it kinda messes with your perception of distance in the game. The few moment, when I used it or Stridor like effects, I've found it too often that I misjudged Survivors positions because of it.
So yeah, it was only useful in countering Iron Will that has been negated. I'm kinda glad they did. Now it's more open too see how useless the perk and it's effect is,
-
And also do bones/remember totem locations for NOED and pray to the entity that the camped survivor doesn't suicide, because there is no ingame reason to stick around, if you are camped.
The only true counter to camping is that it is boring for the killer as much as it is for survivor.
-
Not that I know of. But it might be possible that it might visually appear like that, mostly because of latency or other visual bugs. Nurse's blinks are kinda sensitive with that. Happened more often in the past with omega blink nurses and deticated servers as far as I know. But haven't seen it for quite some time.
-
If you run into a lot f them. Then I would start recording every match etcand get familiar with the report system
This can actually make things even easier for Behaviour to track them, because if Hackers get matched more against experienced players, they will most likely be reported quickly and banned.
-
I kinda want to have a classical graveyard map and a good theme around it.
Something about the fear of deep water or space.
Ad also maybe something going into strangeness/surrealism. Hard to point out. But really a chapter where things just don't seem catchable in the way they are.
-
Leaks aren't really problematic. And nature of things. What is more problematic is when people spread misinformation. E.G. taking speculation as a leak, or claim teasers as leaks etc. But misinformation is a general rule on the net. And sadly quite natural.

That is my hope as well but its so odd a chapter is disappearing.
Netflix always seemed so chill so why now?
They are a business after all. Just because it's nice to work well with them, when there is a contract doesn't necessarly mean that renegotiating the licence won't turn out to be a hassle. There can be so many reasons why. Too expensive, numbers aren't satisfying enough or general strategy change for licencing.
No matter what it is, it's sad considering how enthusiastic the DbD community always was for a Stranger Things chapter.

Because the update sucked lots of the old enjoyment out of them. You need to run a overheat add on to not be punished for using your power. Can’t rely on shorter dev add-one since one you become 4.4. And another you need to be pallet stunned and only for 30 seconds. You have awful animations where survivors can vanish off your screen because your fov is weakened. Hit boxes are a joke they don’t bump into things on purpose but for some reason still hit objects that don’t even touch the chainsaw. He’s not as strong as he use to but the fun in him was zapped.
And not forget map design. His high mobility feels getting more and more limited by random stuff on the map or new maps beeing designed in a way, that he can use his high mobility less than other killers.
-
The reasoning makes sense considering that rank isn't relevant anymore. The problem is more with the SBMM beeing a complete intransparent black box we as the players just have to trust working as intended and can barely check if it actually does.
-
I'm pretty sure Si stands for Simulation and they are finally releasing the Dating Sim we all craving. ^^
No Joke by side. No clue what it might be. Not much you can build up with yet.

Is this official that itll be a paragraph chapter or just leaks?
Technically speculation based on leaks that it's only a killer with only two cosmetics(one of them likely legendary/very rare based on pricing) and an original survivor launching later with the midchapter.

Honestly, could be technical reason. Might be easier to link all three cosmetic parts together than just two.

I don't see why this concept is so hard to understand for some people, like if I get Haddonfield randomly I wont dc usually but if someone sends me there yeah I'm task managering that #########.
That's why Map offerings might work better as secret offerings. Or it might be better, if offerings aren't officially know at all. It just add to a toxic mindset, that make you think "Oh. My opponent is wishing for that map. Wonder how they wanna exploit that." Starting the match already with a negative mind.
I've seen myself doing that. Saw it on other. Doesn't matter if survivor or killer. Maybe killer players do it more often. which just comes from the general nature of the game. Might make the community slightly better.
-
Clown is actually human based on his backstory. If you watch/read stuff like Mindhunters e.g. which is about demystifying of serial killers, then you would realize how close he is to real ones. And it's not problematic to present those people as humans, because they are ones. Yes, that's frightening but actually fairer for the victims than trying to demonizing horrible people, who did unspeakable things. By demonizing them you kinda are trying to put those people as exceptions or look at them as kind of a fantasy, that isn't real. Away from the "normal" protected real world. I'm not a fan of that mystification some serial killer got. Jack the Ripper is the best example for that.
But they are part of the real world. They are humans. Horrible ones, who did unhuman things. But still are human. And showing them like that doesn't make them look like better person. Just human.

A better hook counter wouldn't have any negative effect in regard to tunnelling,
A Killer that's purposely tunnelling can easily remember who it is they've chosen to target and a better hook counter wouldn't benefit them any.
But for a Killer that isn't purposely tunnelling and would rather spread the hooks out to be nice/get the most bloodpoints would use the counter to reduce any accidental tunnelling they might do.
I personally think it has less to do with tunneling rather with encouraging focus in certain situations, where a killer can track or see several survivors and will choose the one who is closer on death hook than the others. Of course that can already happen with killers who have a good memory, but when killer have the information, they will focus more in situation like these. And the devs kinda want to prevent that from happening.
I personally don't agree with that, but that what I think is the reason why.
-
I'm always all in for a flamethrower killer, but we already had a good bunch of them lately.
I think another stealth/track/preparation focused killer design would be nice. For preparation I could see somebody, who set up devices that can throw things by command e.g.
A tracking focused killer would be the hardest to pull off to feel balanced. And with stealth we kind already have a good bunch of options there as well.
Of course I'm always open for licences. Candyman, the Master from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Big Daddy, I'm all open for such, if done well.

Back then, survivors could see the killers ping and just dodge, if the ping looked inconsistent.
Now both sides can get dedicated.
The ping indicator in the lobby didn't help. You did run on a regular bases into killers, with a green lobby but as soon that the game was running everything was laggy and slow. As annoying certain bugs on dedicates servers are, there aren't on the level as it was back then with P2P.

I don't think that BHVR is unable a project as big as DbD. I think the issue is more, that DbD became that big. They definitively didn't had in mind that the game will be a long life lasting game as a service with receiving a bunch of graphical updates with the ninth console generation.
Honestly, if Deathgarden would have been a success and would have experiences a similar growth than DbD, than I wouldn't have been surprised, if it would have been much more stable and less wonky from update to update, because I think that project was designed right from the beginning as a potential long lasting GAAS title compared to DbD.
-
Behaviour already released a bunch of official information towards the event on their broadcast event. https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/5th-anniversary-broadcast-round-up
Assuming that we will see much more than what is know right now, is basicly speculation itself. And the information that was given is quite clear how similar both events will be. As long nothing additional has been announced, it makes sense to go by the current information given and discuss and criticize Behaviours plans based on that.
And like said. The Cake leak, was more of a datamine, and is kinda a fact as well, that the way the cakes work currently in the game files, that they don't stack. Criticism might have been overblown. I agree. Especially because the actually information wasn't shared properly. But still it's a fact. Even if it doesn't come directly from Behaviour themselfs. Doesn't have to be.
-
I was quite lucky. Originally I wanted to do an archieve challenge for pulling people out of a locker with Iron Maiden. But the team I played against on Shelter Woods kinda gifted it to me or were too inexperienced^^
But I also hooked and hit survivors to build some pressure before I got to Tier 3.

DeadByDaylight.log
So over a year passed. Got a new PC with a fresh Windows installation, tried everything in the general guidelines. But sadly I still suffer from this bug. It happens less, but is still happen quite regularly for me when playing SWF, that I have to restart DbD a couple of times.
I refreshed this thread, because the issue still stands as it is and I have a log-file from the last time it happened.

I would add on a large part was the simple mechanics of the game.
It was easy to pick up and play even for the most casual of gamers yet hard to master for those who stuck with it.
Many have a love/hate relationship with the game so the devs did something unique no other game released could as something has kept these people playing.
Yeah the game mechanics are quite important as well. The horror feel wears off through repition. But it's gameplay still gives you something when it happens.

The only thing I care about is that I'm refunded for all the Mori Offerings I still have unused once they make it no longer Offering. :)
Since the retirement of New Moon Bouquet the Ebony Mori is the only ultra rare offering in the game. DbD has an achievement for burning an ultra rare offering. Doubt they will just retires Moris but maybe turn them into a new offering. At least they will have to come up with a new ultra rare. Maybe even one for survivors.
Besides that I agree current Moris aren't really toxic. Just not in a good state, because there is barely a reason to use them compared to bloodpoint or map offerings. And the Mori animation isn't really a good reason for something you will have seen thousand times at some point.
-
Honestly I think, if one of this perk were an issue, than I would rather call out Infectious over Starstruck. But even without it I wouldn't be sure, if it's not just you playing good enough as Nurse or that survivors you've faced weren't good enough to break the combo.
-
The horrible pallette vacuum and the times self caring in a corner was a completely normal phenomenon^^

@Blueberry said:
DH needs to be brought down to their level, not them up to DH. Head On and BL are probably the ideal level.
BL is the most situational exhaustion perk, that can even be useless on certain maps. That's definitively not the ideal level.

Nurse has clear tells and gives survivor feedback based on everything she is doing. You hear and see her charge her blink and for how long, You can see her blink and how fast she blinks to the location etc. That's why she is less frustrating to face. You see what she is doing. How she is doing it. etc.
You still feel more in control against her and that's why survivor find her less annoying.
And you can do more against Nurse then lose LoS. She has counterplay. Just chases have different rules for her. But that makes her a game changer. She also doesn't ignore all game mechanics. And Nurses don't spam their blinks. It's their main mechanic for traversing the map.

Actually no, a killer cant be in 4 places at once at the same time but a survivor can do bones quite easily... and people only say do bones because of noed which isn't that strong and can be countered by perks and items. While the pressure gens is killers struggling
I agree that NOED isn't too strong and dealable. But "Do Bones" still is used as a simple excuse for the frustration people feel with this perk. Especiall, if you done a good bunch of the totems, but still got hit with it, because nobody else did. Or because you can't find that ne totem that happened to be on a well hidden spot etc.
Frustration isn't always about strength. I mean compare it with Rancor, which should be more frustrating for the obsession player right? But we rarely hear complains here. And I think this has more to do, because Rancor is something people are better prepared to deal with. You can see the killers aura during the trial and figure it out, you get exposed immediatly etc. And also while it's seems "more unfair" that you can't remove it like NOED, by destroying totems, it's probably less frustrating, because you know that you couldn't have done anything anyway.
-
I think people who uses her physical size as an argument, just don't want her in the game over classical RE characters in general and are just looking for reasons. I persnally don't expect her. Maybe as a legendary skin, if possible.
In general, if I think about it, it remembers me of the Ridley-is-too-big-for-Smash-discussions the gaming community had back then with Smash 4.

So... here's the thing.
Is Lucky Break + Iron Will going to be strong? Yes. Yes it is. Especially with the current Killer Meta of getting downs or hooks ASAP and snowballing off of that and perks like Thrilling, BBQ, Infectious, and Pop.
Here's the thing though... Killers have the tools to support other play styles. I know because I'm already doing that. You want to know how much I'll care if I lose you after shooting you as Deathslinger when I've got M&A, Surveillance, Nurse's, and Oppression with the Mangled and longer Mend Time Add On? I won't care at all... and you'll be trying to fix yourself to stop Lucky Break's timer for a very long time.
So... I am fairly certain that Lucky Break is powerful enough to be meta, and powerful enough to force Killers to change their builds to deal with it... but they absolutely have the tools to be able to switch up their builds to deal with it.
So Lucky break is good for the game, because it limits Killer's options for playstyle, if it becomes meta? Especially when focusing on direct chases is the preferred way to play for most people.
The big question isn't if Lucky Break will be dealable, but if it will make the game more frustrating or fun. I personally will just play less killer, if it stays the way it was during PTB, because I want to have a choice, if I want to go straightforward or hit and run.
-
Back when they introduced it, I bought Clown and Kate for shards for trying out. Then when Spirit came out I've decided to buy the chapter, just to support. But I changed my mind quickly with the broken Legion patch. Since then I'm getting every original chapter with shards and avid putting to much money into the game.
-
Why not?
-
No, I think it's just a survey finding out which licences are worth to approach.
-
Candyman, Hellsing, Bioshock, Hellboy
Also suggested Buffy the Vampire Slayer which should have been on the list.
-
Nah I rather would like to see that DbD dating sim.
-
One dream chapter would Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Either Buffy or Giles as a survivor. Most likely the Master as a the Killer (Maybe with the option to have an Angelus/Drusilla skin) and Sunnydales graveyard as a map. And I kinda hope that it will happen one day. Question is just how likely is it for Behaviour to get a licence deal for it.
My actual big dream chapter, that would never happen would be Rammstein. Yeah, sounds strange at first, but it's more fitting than you would think at first glance^^ But it will never happen. Doubt that either Behaviour or the band would be interested.
And that would be it. There might other licences that I find interesting like Candyman or Bioshock, but aren't dream chapters.

Love all of them
I’m just so confused on why people are complaining about new Iri head and coldwind
The new Iri head is a bad change, because it doesn't really adress the actual problem with the current one. By hardlocking it, it lost AddOn synergy, but also the actual issue is that it still makes her Hatchets easy chase ending and frustrating. It's not hard for a killer to catch up to a survivor, and just hit them with the first hatched on their back, over a pallet or vault etc. Or just to camp with the hatchet on a hook etc. And I know Instadown killers can do that as well, but Iri-Head have still added that easy first chase mechanic in their kit and that just adds to the frustrating experience.
Of course there was a reason why peole only used it with Infantry Belt, but the change still doesn't adress the actual issue. Just limits it further. It's kinda like old Legion who had a strong ability with no counterplay, but was limited by certain mechanics that didn't adress the actual problem with them.
-
It would be the final nail in the coffin for me.
-
It's problematic in it's current state and will most likely be adressed. It's kinda frustrating because as soon a Huntress player has catched up, up close you will come into a situation where she can hit you with the Hatchet quite easily.
Even if she only would have guranteed one hatched maximal, it would feel unfair. I think the best approach would be like said, to give the AddOn a range restriction, so it only rewards strong snipes. Maybe 40m, so outside Lullaby range. In return it should lose it's downside, by removing so many hatchets from the loadout that makes the infantry belt kinda mandatory. I think that would make the AddOn more fun, without beeing too frustrated for both sides.

Well someone told them to nerf trickblades during PTB
Nerfing trickblades at some way was kinda necessary, after seeing how people were cheesing it by letting the blades bounce from the ground behind the survivors. The alternative would have been not allowing bounces from the ground. But that probably would have take more time and limit the possibilities of the blades. Adding a second bounce and a point event made kinda more sense.
-
As said Balancing Landing needs some kind of cooldown to it's No-Stagger effect depending on loops. Even though I wouldn't say it's in a great spot right now.
It's the most situational exhaustion perk and can even be completely denied depending on the map you play.
Honestly I preferred the pre-buff version of BL, when the No-Stagger effect had an additional invisible 40s cooldown. That was the time before the Clown came out, I think. Didn't hurt the balance of the maps too much, but was still quite usefull.

I feel like mentioning Hag actually getting buffed self-defeats your own comparison. Maybe the reason people realized Hag's potential is because she got that potential after the buff.
Part of me speculates that if the Trickster gets buffed in a meaningful way, months from now people are going to be like "Everyone thought Trickster was gonna be bad, but then after he was released he turned out to be pretty good!" while conveniently ignoring the fact that he got buffed.
Well that's funny because that's exacly what they are doing with Spirit. Ignoring the buff she got after release.^^

Nope In french there is no It so the devs use she/her, From what i know other languages do that as well for example arabic there is no It they use he/him instead of it So... yeah
Nouns have a grammatical gender in some languages. English used to have ones as well, but lost it. As far as I remember she is probably used, because the french word for entity grammatical gender is feminine. In German e.g. he is used, even though we have an neuter gender, because the german noun we use for entity is masculine. Using "it" would be grammatical incorrect in that regard.

Well, MCote did mention in a tweet either earlier this year or December last year that we'll be very excited for year 5 this year and it's "stars" or something like that. That has been taking in three ways basically, two video game franchises or a movie one. That's all we sadly know so far currently. :(
I'm familiar with McCote's Year Review blog post. The exact word are
Obviously, I can’t tell you what’s next but I can say that we are not done surprising you. We are working on a lot of new stuff for you and I can already tell you that our 5th year anniversary event will feature some impressive stars that will blow your minds.
Honestly as much as I like the speculation, I can only see him telling us, that they have something "great" for the anniversary. Stars can basicly also just mean a well known licence in general. I wouldn't read too much into it yet, before we get better hints. We really need to wait for the anniversary beeing closer. I mean there is still a midchapter coming beforehand.
-
Not sure what they might going for. There are no clues yet. I just hope it's something exciting.

Killer strength isn't the only reason why killers don't get played. Hag is a good example for that matter. She isn't weak, but quite unintential compared to other killers that are much more straight forward in their design. That's why people rarely play her.
Trickster e.g. while beeing a weak killer still has a good game feel to his ability and is quite straight forward. Some might even like his design.
Twins on the other hand suffer from many things that might turn them off. Victor's jump mechanic e.g. is hard to get into, it kinda requires to know hitboxes very well and beeing kicked basicly in the face is quite frustrating. Also their ability is less intuitive, because they are less chase focused like hag e.g. Then there are some restrictions like beeing unable to switch or releas Victor around the hook, that kinda makes their ability feel clunky as well. Their design is also visually not pleasing.
And lastly they were bugged, when they came out. Basicly unplayable bugged. Of course many bugs have been fixed by now, but they lack that initial push a new killer normall gets, that make people interested towards the character.
Trickster still has that push.
-
@EvanSnowWolf said:
That was insanely long loop though. I would not commit to that chase on ANY Killer.
Other killers can handle the loop quite well with their ability and/or their movement speed. It's really mostly Trickster who can't.
