Title. It feels like every other game has a survivor team who just holds M1 and does all the gens in 5 mins. The only counter I found is being Gen Slow Freddy, but it's such a boring build IMO that I just loose all fun playing it. Tru3 on twitter even said he's done playing killer because of how bad it's gotten. I shouldn't have too play a boring build just too have a chance at red ranks.

Something needs too be done with gens too make killer actually fun again. You either run a super gen slow build and make them game lasts 10 years and become bored out of your mind, or play a fun build but loose after 5 mins. I don't know what exactly needs too be done, whether it's more gen time or nerf too toolboxes and Prove Thyself, but something needs too be done so red ranks don't feel so miserable.

The fact that you quote Tru3 in and of itself highlights some ridiculous insights here. Tru3 is an entitled killer main. FULL STOP.

    Quick History Lesson:

The devs never expected the 'survivor juking' phenomena at release, they expected 'sneaky sneak' survivors. Tru3 would reiterate this, about how survivors are 'just supposed to be sneaky', yes he would go on and on about 'sneaky sneak' games. It was an interesting take and certainly was a play style but it was SO BORING. Boring to play and boring to watch. One of the things that gave this game its popularity was the chases.

Then we cut to him playing killer. One of the last twitch DBD games of his I watched, he went on and on about swf and that it's not fair. Completely discounting why it ended up in the game because twitch streamers like him COMPLAINED about lobby simulator with survivors wanting to play with friends at release. The devs gave us swf because of HIM!?

Anyway this last game I watched it finished in a 4k and he did some cute pirouette and started saying 'oh i meant new killers', regarding how unfair swf is.

Tru3 is a waste of time.

I use windows so I know which pallets have been used by other survivors, I've lost count the amount times I've gone to areas expecting a pallet to be there only for it to have already been used. In my opinion it's a very underrated perk for chase route planning.

Good point. But as a side point don't you get similar information from Bond?. What I mean is that Bond gives you greater situational awareness overall.

To be more specific, I tend to know what areas chases have happened in and know if I get into a chase to stay away from those areas, that couple with knowing where or at least having an idea where to move to next is usually enough.

I guess I'm just curious on your opinion because maybe in prolonged chases is when you find it most beneficial?

  • Examples like this is why the 'timeout system' just isn't going to work. This is an example of a miserable survivor experience.

People just aren't going to stay in miserable games.

‘the devs do not even recognize swf as a problem’

    Quick history lesson:

SWF wasn’t in the game at release. But human beings, being the cleaver adaptive entities that they are wanted to play with their friends in a game that had coop online elements (surprise!?). The devs had designed the game around soloq, so what happened? LOBBY SIMULATOR. That’s right friends would join lobbies looking for other friends and wait in the lobby to see if their friend would join and if they didn’t before the timer ended, they’d leave and repeat this process. The end result was a game of lobby simulator that took longer than the 4v1 game. It was bad for Twitch streamers, killers complained about it and survivors wanted to play with their friends.

It was a huge miscalculation on the devs behalf for something that is so obvious in hindsight, hence SWF was born and the devs have been compensating ever since. Infinites gone, bloodlust added, entity blocker added, vaulting/map nerfs, pallet nerf/reduction, increase ‘one-shot’ mechanics etc etc. It’s a huge list.

The devs DO KNOW SWF IS A PROBLEM that’s why the game has been on the trajectory it has been for so long. But I feel like were back at your experience in this game because your statement makes your bias clear to me.

Because the REAL people punished here? SOLOQ SURVIVORS

‘how you mind game god loops’

Well I’m not sure how willing you are (or I am for that matter) to get into the nuance of this because generally while I appreciate it’s frustrating to encounter they always typically break down, especially against a good killer. Add to that recent BL nerfs, never mind an ENTIRE LIST of nerfs to survivor surviving mechanics and I’m really just left asking what more do you want?

So unless you want to get specific then I’m just left saying , yes, if you’re a good killer you can mind game it and if you can’t leave it and go after someone else and if your hex:ruin 5 gennies are still up ######### are you even complaining about.

‘but the problem is why they are sweaty’

For all your points I still see regular games that result in a 4k with 5 gennies up and survivors finishing with 3k, 4k, 5k BP etc. My only real response is that sometimes killers want a quick game, some killers think its funny to screw over survivors over and the game lets them do it.

‘Survivors do need something new..... A new objective, new mechanics’

    Agree.

Totems weren’t there at release and Pig along with Legion added new mechanics to slow the game down. But Legion has been a disaster, since release. I’m not going to get into why but only point out that on steam the Legion DLC has a mixed rating compared to others that typically have a Very/Mostly positive rating.

  • A few people have commented with varying pings. They all report ridiculous hit boxes after vaulting or getting hit through pallets.

It actually looks like deliberate coding. As in the devs wanted to keep the killer advantage they used to have when they hosted games, so have tried to emulate this on dedicated servers.

why only delete her lol delete all killers and rename the game to gen simulator 2020

Cause the other killers aren't broken.

You're not exactly a bastion of insight here are you.

  • @Elegant said:

It's something the devs really need to address but they likely never will. I've played with so many friends who were new to the game that quit and never came back because of how hard they get camped. It's not even just a handful of games. It would be every game or every other game that the killer would proxy camp or hard camp and tunnel one of my friends until they got downed again. They wouldn't even get to play the game because they would get hard tunneled/camped the moment they were spotted by the killer. As a new player they don't have great concepts of looping or mindgames so they don't last very long in a chase. So if they get spotted early, they are basically dead within a few minutes. Newer killers don't care or understand the concept of emblems or that they lose points for camping. They just want to kill someone and don't really care how they do it. They need to figure out a way to get rid of this in high rank games or they will have a high turnover of casual players

This is the best post in this thread and its unforgivable that BHVR have had this problem SINCE DAY ONE.

It's highlights why BHVR have ultimately painted themselves into a corner now. The 'time out' system won't work, because all the devs are doing is reinforcing all the negative aspects that lead to people leaving games to begin with. But you can't do anything positive for survivors, without the collective killer community nerd raging.

Just look at all the posts after legion and nurse were nerfed.

It's impossible to recommend this game to a new player if they are interested to play survivor.

  • Nurse: The broken killer that should never have been introduced to DBD.

  • Killer mains thinking the devs favour survivors over killers.

  • @Endstille

‘Deadspots still exist in the game’

Yes, just look at the new map for a recent addition. What you seem to be complaining about is bugs. Which is something that you can’t blame survivors on lol. There’s bugs that negatively affect survivors too. Welcome to DBD. The devs will fix it, and if they don’t I see it as more the limits of their engine. Your point is still mute. Accept it or find a happy place somewhere else.

‘What do you mean by mindgaming’

Bit disappointed you won’t work with me on this one because I think you do know what I mean. Especially if you play nurse. It means getting the survivor to commit to something that ultimately is to their detriment. Go on the wiki for some DBD killer plays if you’re still not sure what that means.

    ‘Actually I play mostly survivor’

No I don’t think you do, or if you do there’s a context to it like you’re new to the game or you were a killer main but started to play survivor more recently. Because your posts indicate that. Until you explain that context, I’m just going to have to call you out on that.

‘I do not like to no longer or rarely see the killer anymore’

You know what’s funny is that I do enjoy playing against nurse but its more in the context of an average nurse. A nurse that hits some of there blinks but not all. It’s against a good nurses that makes for a boring game, that you feel like you’re in an open field, running in a straight line.

But that’s the core issue, hoping the devs can moderate that because they can’t. Hoping the nurse is average, hoping the nurse won’t play sweaty and won’t proximity camp and tunnel. Because there’s nurses like that out there. You sound like you would be a fair killer and I’m sure you do make for good games, but the nurse is broken and sweaty killers ruin it for everyone.

  • The OP shows why I never take items.

I have stacks of items and addons that I never bring for 2 reasons.

    1) As soon as you bring something, you expect to use it. If you don't get to use it, it just upsets you. So why do it to yourself.

Also I feel people will try say 'oh but what about killer add ons'. Which is just stupid. Because if a killer doesn't like a lobby he'll dodge it. He can add certain perks if he wants to get the most of his offerings. The centre of power is where it always has been.

    2) Because of the OP. Even if we assume hes a nice guy who doesn't bring the sweaty builds/addons just because he can and does only play sweaty when others play sweaty. It's still that mentality of 'well I only did, because you did' which is just pathetic. So it's best to baby the killers feelings in that regard while in lobby.

The OP asked a loaded narrow question.

Ok grandma, thanks for the lesson.

Still doesnt change the fact that the killer couldnt mindgame those infinites.

Hoping that another survivor wouldnt stay the hell away from the terror radius sounds like such a controllable counterplay for the killer.

'Ok grandma, thanks for the lesson.'

    haha someones triggered.

  • Yea looks like a miserable game. They probably should have left early.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

You cant mindgame infinites.... thats why they were infinites ... bruh.

    lol

Were you even around when REAL infinites were a thing? Apparently you don't know that infinites would break down if you got more than one survivor into them. But hey, that's l2p ;)

  • @Endstille said:

    @FearedbytheGods

Please explain in detail where the nurse exactly broke the game.

Survivors had to rely on skill instead because that is what it took to juke a nurse. Knowledge about the killer and how to handle it or why did some people lasted longer in a chase than others with her? Magic i suppose.

Prenerf basekit nurse was the best to play against, not breaking the game at all. If you played the game for such a long time, you should know that nurse had many deadspots which screwed her blinks completely. Ofc that is something that survivors would need to know to play against such a killer but we cant have that right?

Just remove everything resembling skill for survivors and be a better lab rat with memorized routes.

Despite the slight hyperbole type slant to your post you raise some good points.

'nurse had many deadspots which screwed her blinks completely.'

Yes, there were dead spots and survivors could use them and it persisted for sometime. But the devs actively worked to remove those dead spots and nurse mains figured they could come at those dead spots from different angles to remove them. There was never a 100% safe place EVER from nurse blink. So its a mute point resolved over time.

'Survivors had to rely on skill'

What your referring to here is 'mindgaming' the nurse, because if a nurse knew where you would move next, you'd take a hit. By that logic you could have left REAL infinites in the game because my strat for them as a killer was to mindgame the survivors. So just to make sure you're consistent in your argument, not just picking and choosing.

'Just remove everything resembling skill for survivors and be a better lab rat with memorized routes.'

Then you show your true hand. Another upset nurse player that final got their due.

This is not about 'timing', it is about the inconsistencies in server ping. What WOULD have stunned the killer with good timing actually DOESN'T, because of the server latency.

So now there's a problem with having to waste pallets because you often can't be sure that another loop could be made because of the inconsistent server ping. So you can risk the loop, but be punished for not guessing whether the ping is good enough or not and get hit through the pallet.

'What WOULD have stunned the killer with good timing actually DOESN'T, because of the server latency.'

It might have something to do with it but I don't think its just server latency, if you see some people's comments they mention that they have varying pings. I think what explains it better is the devs coding and how they allow some kind of 'cross over' I guess you could call it. Basically to the advantage of killers.

I admit that i'm not that old, and i never said i'm old player, but that doesn't change my point. Both of them were nerfed. She got changed recently too (i agree her add-ons need change, but not her base power)

And introducing the nurse doesn't justify the existence of infinites. Not every killers were nurse, and i don't think that you did not abuse the infinites when going against other killers.

And i don't really understand what you wrote in second paragraph.

"A good nurse that always hit the mark". Are you suggesting that the mark is you? And what's wrong with a nurse player that is good with her can hit the mark consistently? Are you saying that those people should not be rewarded for how skillful they are?

And that brings to my final question. Have you ever played nurse before? Or killer in general? If you think that nurse is still op and deserves further nerf, play her with 2 add-ons that nerf her lunge and blink distance, without perks in rank 1 for 10 games a row. Let's see how many 4k you can get.

Before you tried what i suggested, i have nothing to discuss with you

'And that brings to my final question. Have you ever played nurse before? Or killer in general? If you think that nurse is still op and deserves further nerf, play her with 2 add-ons that nerf her lunge and blink distance, without perks in rank 1 for 10 games a row. I made rank 1 killer when there were REAL infinites in the game, there was no exhaustion so Sprint Burst would recycle during chases and could be used in conjuction with Balanced Landing. Back then too, Auto Haven had long walls and more pallets when there was no 'slow vault'.

I think this conversation is done.

  • @OmegaXII said:

Wow... just wow... i never seen people justify nerfs just because she was broken.

So let's apply the same concept for survivors.

Survivors was fundamentally broken at the beginning, real infinites everywhere, incredible vault speed, fast gen times, broken flashlight, toolboxes.... ( the list goes on)

Devs should never introduce something that is fundamentally broken, right? So let's nerf them to the ground because this is the only thing you can do at this stage to survivors who has fundamentally broken since release.

    Have a nice day :)

'Devs should never introduce something that is fundamentally broken, right? So let's nerf them to the ground because this is the only thing you can do at this stage to survivors who has fundamentally broken since release.'

    rofl are you triggered?

That's basically what happened..... If you bothered to check my list of things added for killers overall. Also you still need survivors no matter how 'broken' they are, as you claim. I don't mind to just delete nurse and go back to working on these 'OP survivors' I see you keep mentioning.

We seem to be in agreement O_o

Nurse was nerfed the same time where those infinites gone, so what are you complaining about?

Are you saying that those infinites that did not have any counter were fine? You said that it was only killers that complained about the infinites, so you actually think that those loops are fine?

Are you sad that you cannot run nurse around loops like with other killers? If you do, you have my sympathy, and you deserve to be killed by every single nurse.

'you cannot run nurse around loops like with other killers?'

Now we get to the heart of YOUR argument. A good nurse who always hits their mark. I have an analogy of survivor running in an open field in a straight line. Because that's what your arguing for a 'degree of challenge, but I still win'. And you're not evening talking about REAL infinites are you, your talking about pallet loopers too judging by your framing.

'Nurse was nerfed the same time where those infinites gone'

Once again, you either have no idea or your just lying.

No, infinites were up a number of months after nurse release. It was only after devs realised killers were still complaining that infinites were gone. So along with some nurse tweaks (I struggle to even call them nerfs until recently) you had infinites gone, bloodlust added, entity blocker added exhaustion added and now more recently with end game timer and hatch close ALL benefiting your precious nurse.

I'm sorry but you are either new to DBD or you don't remember the history of this game.

  • @Vetrathene said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/896847#Comment_896847

Killers still complained because not everyone wanted to play nurse. And her power was fine, it was her add ons that where the problem. And the changed those...and then continued to beat her with the nerf bat for no good reason afterwards.

'Killers still complained because not everyone wanted to play nurse. '

My point exactly and I actually stated that in my prior post along with why nurse should never have come into the game.

Nerf the nurse again because turning a top tier killer into a bottom tier one is the only thing you can do at this stage to a killer who has fundamentally broken the game since release.

What I find so amusing is that my arguments have stood the test of time. I'm making the same arguments now I was making at nurse release. The anecdotal emotive arguments against my points don't offer anything.

Just because nurse had it 'better' before doesn't mean it should have been there to begin with.

  • @Sluzzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/896602#Comment_896602

Your reward for finally and successfully landing a hit is negated when the survivor presses E. The entire chase resets, you have entered your fatigue again with a super long and annoying 6 sec recharge. In the meantime, 3 survivors are humping a gen and the survivor that should have been down is half way across the map. Because they gained so much distance, they jump in a locker out of your sight and magically heal because of Inner Strength. After the nurse finally hits the survivor twice again, the nurse has lost because 3 gens are popping now and nobody hooked. With how optimal survivors can potentially play, nurse needs zero downtime.

What I love about this story is that it requires SO MANY preconditions to be in place for it to bear fruition.

    I like my story better:

Nurse has survivor, survivor hits 'E' nothing happens so gets hooked. Nurse has BBQ and sees 2nd survivor coming to unhook and blinks to them and immediately gets a hit. A small chase ensures but is over relatively quickly and the 2nd survivor is hooked. The 3rd survivor who had been running around the entire time trying to find the hex:ruin is now in a chase with the nurse. With 5 gennies still up the 4th survivor leaves his gennie to unhook the first survivor. The first survivor whose now in struggle state, seeing the direction of the game gives up and dies. The second survivor seeing the first survivor give up decides to suicide on hook. The third survivor who is downed now, has no points so leaves the game accepting their time out because there is no point to stay.

Hatch spawns next to nurse who promptly closes it and the 2 doors are adjacent to each other so with the high mobility nurse whose hitting all their blinks its inevitable the 4th survivor will die. The 4th survivor, whose actually smart, realises this, so decides to farm totems and get 3k+ points before end game finishes listening to the nurse blink between the 2 adjacent doors the entire time.

  • Now you're just mischaracterising my argument and conflating your own arguments

She's broken, she's always been broken. She was introduced to counter REAL infinites and killers still complained so REAL infinites were removed.

She should never have been introduced because she broke the game. This magical line of yours where she was 'OK at one stage' doesn't exist.

And you pointing the finger at me while misconstruing my argument is the equivalent of trying to rile up the mob while yelling 'get him'.

Devs should have never allowed such a broken killer in the game to begin with.

If you look at how the game was upon her release, the Nurse we had before the rework would have been underpowered as ######### compared to what survivors had.

    That's just not true.

Nurse was OP at release and hard countered EVERYTHING survivors had, including REAL infinites. Not the soft pseudo thing people claim are infinites now.

You either weren't there at release, or you're just lying.

That simply isn't true. Both sides have had buffs and nerfs. The Devs have been remarkably even.

If they destroy one thing from one side (Legion) they destroy another from the other (MoM).

It is incredibly foolish to think the Devs are sided one way or another, though, I'm starting to think they just don't like Legion.

    'The devs have been even'

Based off that statement alone I know you haven't been playing since release.

Legion (along with pig) was an attempt to make games longer by introducing different mechanics and do away with the boring obnoxious Hex:Ruin. Legion has been a disaster, killers have complained about it, ever since release. It's one of the few dlc that has a mixed rating on steam. Usually you see Very/Mostly positive.

It's also why you've seen a return to 'oneshot' killers and why we'll continue to have the boring obnoxious hex:ruin as meta for the foreseeable future.

  • @Pulsar said:

If I have a miserable game as Legion (90% of games) I should DC so that the Devs buff him?

Of course not, that would be silly.

    And yet killers do.

Infact you're arguing my point. My point still stands, even on the ground of killers.

Of course not, that would be silly.

And yet killers do. But you're not really arguing my points, infact my same point could be applied to killer.

    Want to know my hot-take?

Games were finishing to quickly and the boring obnoxious Hex:Ruin was the main way to prolong them.

I think the devs tried Pig and legion to try and extend games with different mechanics. The result? Legion has been a train-wreck, ever since release. I stuggle to remember a happy time for legion. Even now, most dlc's get 'mostly/very positive', legion dlc is still 'mixed'.

That's why we've gone back to 'one'shot' mechanics and still have hex:ruin as the go to.

  • I've played since release. I've watched the trajectory of this game for sometime.

The reality is that many survivor mains left this game a long time ago or migrated to survivor/killer. The devs 100% have a killer bias, all their marketing is surrounding it. Survivors are just reskins.

That's why this forum and the dbd reddit before it have so many killer focused players and why it feels like survivors are expected to just 'suck it up', lest they become 'yet another salty survivor'.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/896620#Comment_896620

To make an extreme example, if someone shoots my friend, is it okay for me to shoot someone unrelated to that?

I am not denying the fact that this was breaking the rules, but there were other actions OP should have taken if they truly wanted them banned. Ultimately, @mmain nothing can change the fact that you and them both broke the rules. The only thing you can do is record the footage and send in a support ticket, I can give you a link if this happens again.

That's a round about way of dealing with it and according to the rules the best way to do it. What you need to understand is that rules are a system of control. I understand that without rules we have chaos. But then what you need to understand is that some rules that are designed to control can have a bias weather intentional or not.

My point still stands, if survivors are d/c from miserable games it speaks volumes because you're saying that you refuse to participate in that, therefore the devs need to change it (or ramp up the banning). That's what it comes down too.

  • 100% agree with OP.

    Quick history lesson:

At release when you had REAL infinites not the pseudo-infinites you have now. The debate was over REAL infinites and their place in the game.

As a killer I didn't mind them because a number of things tended to play out.

If a solo survivor went to it, i left them. I'd let them finish gennies that end of the map and make sure to keep 3 gennies close together on the other side. I'd have no problems with kills and point generation.

As infinites got popular, ALL the survivors would head to it. Creating a traffic jam and created easy points/kills as the survivors all got in each others way.

Anyway killers still complained and hence THE NURSE WAS BORN. Completely countering EVERYTHING that allowed survivors survived, infinites included. I suspect that the devs did this to try and keep the complaining killers happy. Did it work? No, because killers had their preferred killer and so they continued to complain and so the devs removed infinites, but by this stage we had the nurse.

The nurse broke the game and now everyone understands why.

Nurse should never have been introduced and infinites should have been removed sooner. That's the long story short.

  • Keep the new cinematic.

The old cinematic just made it look like killers could get a 4k with minimal effort. It's almost symbolic of the majority of posters on this forum.

    😉

  • It's the elephant in the room. The devs will ban, time out etc but fail to address core issues like this.

The reality is that if the devs are creating miserable environments for survivors to participate in..... well, why WOULD you stay? Because of some morale posturing about 'screwing over team mates' or 'it's against the rules'. LOL, please, it's a game, half the decisions the devs have made they expect you to simply engage with it, even if it makes for a miserable experience.

OP if you continued to engage in this scenario, you would be telling everyone that the experience you had was OK. Which it wasn't.

You gotta be kidding me. I think EVERY map in the game had infinites except shelter woods. It is not my fault you don't know where they are.

And maybe they are not "real infinites" but being able to vault the myers house windows like 20+ times before a killer could catch up was definitely a thing. Then you can go to a pallet and do it all over again.

Any super strong window you can vault 3+ times, hit a nearby pallet, and then do it all over again is an infinite to me. Because in the time it will take a killer to chase through it the game will essentially be over. Especially if it's a window you can keep vaulting while out of chase with the killer, which lets you loop it like 4-5 times instead of 3.

That's not an infinite because you can't do it infinity. That's why they have the entity blocker based off your description.

Furthermore if you're in a chase were its happening 20+ times then you were not breaking a pallet or on a linear rail just following the survivor ad nauseam waiting for bloodlust to kick in not attempting to mind game at all.

Meanwhile your camping tactics net you a 4k but then still manage to complain about pseudo-infinites.

    They're still not real infinites.

My issue is highlighted by your PERFECTLY. A camping killer who nets a 4k can still complain about pseudo-infinites because they didn't manage to 4k a game.

The devs have created an entire entitled killer class, with their killer bias.

  • Hit through pallets and after I've vaulted through a window and moved away or am half way falling down, just to give hit.

It feels like cheese and just makes me want to leave a game.

While it is true that it's mainly been killer buffs and survivor nerfs, survivors have been incredibly overpowered for the entirety of this games existence. I would say only now the killers are really starting to get an edge, because every new killer comes with a built-in one shot or has insane mobility (or both) and the survivor nerfs have finally stacked up.

That said, I still feel borderline untouchable sometimes when playing survivor. Even after the BL nerf. Before the BL nerf it was kinda dumb, but also tons of fun, to loop a killer on the many infinites it opened up. There's literally nothing most killers could do about it except leave the chase.

Most killers have no way to deal with looping except to run the tiles and eventually force the pallet drop. There's still tons of god windows in the game. I still have the deliverance + DS + key combo, which when using you need to put some effort into dying because it's so easy to win with.

I love how you conveniently skip over some of the posts made by Desolate_Sands and went to the extremes examples that support 'poor killer, bad survivor'.

Most of what you've described is a niche example or scenarios that require so many preconditions to be in place before they come to fruition. That it's ridiculous you even mention them. It's in no way what you would describe as an 'average game'.

I love all these 'tons' of 'infinites' and 'god windows' you speak of because in my experience as killer, survivors will get a few good turns but it always breaks down. Then again, if your a bad killer i guess its important to hold onto 'infinites' that haven't been in the game for years now.

It's like swf. If you listened to this forum you'd think that every second game was swf pro players making a killers life hell. The reality is that most swf is just mates wanting to have fun and usually results in a 4k. These 'pro' swf groups in my experience is something ridiculously small like maybe 1/30 games. Much like your 'infinite', but even then, its more accurate to call it a pseudo-infinite.

Real infinites have been gone a long time now.

The one shot killer mechanic really ramped up with leatherface and has been getting worse. It's the only hint you provide at any insight.

last i checked jungle gyms are still in the game lol

making killer fairer is necessary, this game would be long dead if infinites are still in

stop being so selfish just because you want to be a completely untouchable god who can no skill perma-run the killer around a single loop

survivor back in the day was so stupidly braindead easy it was basically impossible to die, and here you are wanting to return to that

it's clear what your goals are here

    You're not offering anything.......

Your points are subjective and anecdotal.

People leave cause they get hit once. "Boring" isnt an excuse.

I suppose if you're trying to claim some kind of morale high ground your point would make sense. It's still boring, but hey 'play how you want to play'. amirite.

  • It's boring more than anything. Crawling around waiting to be rescued, it's not a fun game to participate in and I imagine it can make people leave to find a more interesting game.

Ok So will PS4 players ever get dedicated Servers or no? And will they do DC Penalties on PS4 or no? And finally will they ever punish killers who tunnel and hook camp, cuz it's honestly not how the game was meant to be played.

Dunno PS4 servers, maybe yes because PC got them?

PS4 d/c will only be punished if the game moves to dedicated servers.

No they will never punish killers who camp/tunnel. The trajectory of this game has been killer focused for sometime now.

4k's with hardcore camping 100% works, even at rank 1. Even against SWF. This is just a tiny sample of 3 games, I do this literally all the time.

Note how the emblem system doesn't even care much that I camped.

This is the elephant in the room and this is the point that half the people responding in this thread clearly are either unwilling to admit or simply clueless to the matter.

  • There's no benefit to staying in a game like that as a survivor. You BP generation will be low and it will generally be a miserable experience.

If the killer can still put pressure on the map they're score a lot BP.

And the devs wonder why survivors d/c.

    lol spot the killer main?

Talk about completely misrepresenting my points.

Jungle gyms aren't even comparable nowadays to what they were. But I guess if you're struggling, you'll claim it.

No one wants to go back to infinites, but fragile killers like you are happy when survivors finish 3k, 5k etc games, but then you whine when they decide to d/c.

I made rank 1 killer at release. Killers like you are so soft by today's standard.

I don't know how you came to this conclusion when the BL changes should be seen as a fix as it was being abused. I mean, you simply couldn't catch survivors in some instances.

Out of all the patches, I felt this one was the most fairly minded where pretty much all of the changes were moving forward in some way. The changes to BL were good for the game, but maybe not for the survivors that relied on it to keep them safe.

It's more the trajectory this game has gone the last few years.

Infinites gone, jungle gym's gone, bloodlust added, end game timer added, hatch close added. All this has made being killer easier and survivor harder.

You look at the SB vs. NOED debates that happend at release all those years ago. SB now is mediocre at best where as NOED is still a high tier perk.

It's only been recently that killers have started getting push back from devs because the state of the game is disconnecting survivors who know a game is going to end in a 4k so why bother for 3k BP.

And what do we see? Thread after thread recently of nurse players whining, legion players whining, spirit players whining. People talk about salty survivors alot in this forum but ignore the elephant in the room.

I meant killer addons and perks while exhaustion was nerfed 100 years ago and it's unlikely that any survivor will use an exhaustion perk more than once in a chase

I agree with you how exhaustion creates a 'one trick wonder' phenomena.

a psedo-infinite is still an infinite, even if it's not guaranteed. It's why the word infinite is in it. And i've seen launch gameplay, I've seen the hell of double pallet jungle gyms and every map has 3 infinites. However that doesn't mean any infinite can/should stay in the game.

No I'm not going to give you that.

Because for it to become what you think it is requires a whole bunch of preconditions that have to be met and in place before you could even CLAIM it was an infinite. Even then a skilled killer could close it, meaning it wasn't an infinite to begin with.

  • @BunnyTheHutt said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/109621/balanced-landing-got-a-nerf-guess-what-it-needs-now

It def isn't the worst perk in the entire survivor game, you could argue it's the worst exhaustion perk, but I feel it's finally in a good place. I still see survivors run it and still do well, nothing really changed with it except the infinites you use too be able too abuse it with.

Well its day one, so people are still finding out about about the changes so 'i still see survivors run it' isn't a great indicator. I know that personally I've gone back to lithe after trying BL a few times.

Also psedo-infinites aren't infinites. If you played at release you'd know what a real infinite is.

And yet they keep creating more exhaustion addons and perks to make it even easier and boring

What are you even talking about.

The fact that people are still talking about using SB because these 'easier and boring' newer alternatives you mention just don't exist.

I know people on the internets like having opinions, even if they don't offer anything, so I'll put it down to that.

  • @HamdaN said:

id say lithe is the worst right now due to the window hits :(

    100% behind this.

Those window hits are cheap and makes you want to leave a game especially if you get a subsequent 'cheese' it.
