The best thing in this chapter are the two perk changes and the new Shelter Woods.

The thing that annoys me about the Eruption change is how they essentially made that perk weak and for me that should not be the way to go. Yes the incapacitated needed to go. But why not give it another strong effect taht wouldn't be as oppressive as the incapacitated. Aura reading can be strong but keep in mind that it won't do anything in the case of Eruption. Because it proccs when you downed them so if you want to get any value from it you need to slug survivors. Maybe a 15 second repair speed penalty or the gen being blocked would have been the better solution making it not as oppressive as before while still being strong. If the devs want to avoid a stale meta they need to make more perks strong in order to give the meta more variety. But instead they decide to nuke perks that are being used too much and call it a day. IMO a cheap solution to a stale meta. If they want killers to not use gen kicking perks as much as they do right now how about buffing other perks? Revert Ruin to 200% (the deactivation condidtion can stay), buff hexes (blocking the totems at the start) and make Jolt work with special attacks (after all it rewards downing a survivor unlike CoB + Overcharge).

  • @stonedcandle said:

So what you're getting at is you want Behaviour to limit perks like it's done in Tournaments. Okay.

I would actually be down for that. Survivor cannot bring the same perks and killers cannot bring 4 slowdowns. That sounds like a good deal for me tbh.

  • I mean as someone who mains Billy I completely agree. If I manage to land a successful curve against a survivor and he presses E it clearly shows me that he is better than me and I got outplayed. So DH is fine. I should have just stopped right before the chainsaw would have hit him just in case he has this perk.

  • That's way too strong. You can get rid of shack pallet immediately especially if you spawned in shack. There is a reason killers can only interact with dropped pallets (aside from blocking not dropped pallets with Blood Favor)

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

It’s only really good for sustained map traversal, trying to catch up to a survivor that is 30+ yards away, or for purposely blinking beyond a survivor to zone them.

It’s way less useful for mid range chases than the range addons were. You can’t fully charge a single blink anymore, and it uses both your blinks. And the 2nd blink immediately kicks in, and goes so far, that it’s often hilariously bad trying to pinpoint the 2nd blink to get into lunge range.

I haven’t seen any streamers use it well in mid range chases yet. But it’s hard to find streamers that want to play Nurse anymore, because most of them either stopped playing Nurse, or plays Nurse a lot less than they used to, since the triple nerf happened.

Well I stopped playing her because of her new chase music it gives me a headache.

Regarding the addon: It's not that hard to 99 a blink so it's almost the same as before if you don't want to use both blinks at once. And it still helps in mid range depending on the survivors position. Yes there are moments where that addon shouldnt be used but like I pointed out it's pretty easy (atleast for me) to 99 her blink.

  • @Chadku said:

It takes both charges and you can't fully charge your blinks if you just want to use 1.

lol at your nurse pfp asking for a range nerf

I'm a P100 Nurse to be precise. I never played range because it's just overpowered and it would require having a new muscle memory. Most Nurse mains agreed on the fact that range was op so why do they make another range addon?

  • @sizzlingmario4 said:

Yeah it really doesn’t go well with her at all honestly. The terror radius themes are fine but the actual chase theme is really loud and unfitting for Nurse.

    I agree. It's really unpleasant.

  • @Piruluk said:

In reality this an excuse, before Nurse chase music was very quiet, some Nurse mains can't stand that their extremely overpowered pet has now appropriate chase music(easier to lose survivors), you want it to reverted so can stomp even easier like used to

What the hell is this comment? No I'm not asking for her to be easier but I literally cannot play her anymore without getting a headache which should never be a thing. And no I don't need a competitive advantage I'm a P100 Nurse and good enough to stomp you if I want to. But the music is too loud and the sounds are penetrating my ears. It's very unpleasant

  • It's going to be the skull merchant. No Anti-Loop, passive pressure and map traversal. Just a big oops by BHVR

Huh...so you're literally not allowed to play certain killers and that's considered balanced to you guys?...

You are. Just don't expect to win if the other side is going to tryhard.

  • @Dbdfan398 said:

Because it would show what we know already

    • High mmr is miserable
    • only a few killers are viable at high mmr
    • swf is miserable to vs
    • game is becoming stale - same thing over and over. Their genuis plan is to do massive reworks, but all that does is replace the same old thing for new same old things. People ( especially in MMR ) will always use the best perks / loadouts
    • Map offerings need to be removed

High MMR is a myth. Once you reached the MMR softcap you can vs anyone above it. So as the killer at top MMR you can literally vs survivors who just reached the MMR softcap.

Not every SWF is a comp deathsquad that is playing like their lives depend on it.

If you want to win you are always going to bring the best perks. I mean you literally stated that only a few killers are viable at your MMR so you probably play those killers because youwant to win. So it's only fair if survivors do the same. The only way to tackly a stale meta is to make more perks strong so you have more variety. If you just kill meta perks it will always be stale.

I agree on your map offerings argument. They are not healthy for the game.

Did you just say he deserves to lose because he chose to play trapper against a 4 man?

He did. Rightfully so. That would be like if you complain as survivor if you run a meme build in soloQ and then complain that the Nurse on Midwich stomped you and you didn't escape. If you want to win you need to do it properly. If you play off-meta perks/killers just accept the fact that you don't win if the other side is going to tryhard.

  • @Tostapane said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3355564#Comment_3355564

it isn't that bad you say uh... try to play as a trapper aganist a well coordinated premade... it's impossible to get something done with your power unless you (how courious that everything will be reduced to the same 2 kind of gameplay in order to get something done) camp a hooked survivor and trap everything near the hook or tunnel to death someone (in this istance camping is a lot better since the trapper basekit is more suited for that kind of gameplay).

Yeah let's play the weakest possible killers against survivors that play with the best loadout possible, you see where your argument is flawed? Those who really want to win are going to. If you want to win as killer play a killer with a strong power and loadout on the survivor side a SWF with a strong loadout. By playing trapper you are already going to play with a weak power so what's your point? That weak killers should be buffed? I agree but that doesn't mean that killer is only possible because of altruism. I'm a Billy main and whenever I get sent on Eyrie I know I will get 5 hook stages maximum but you know that's what happens when you play on a map that makes your power less useful. I just accepted the fact that Billy is just not amongst the strongest powers in the game so it would be sily if every game would be a walk in the park for me.

  • Why should we deny soloQ players this privilege? SWF has it. So what's the point of denying soloQ players the information they need to be more efficient.

The only thing I would give killers is which survivor has how many hook stages (like in the survivor HUD). This is especially beneficial for killers who want to play fair.

  • Killers tryhard because that's the only way they can win against a genrushing SWF

Survivors genrush because that's the only way to win against a tryhard killer.

Do both sides know if they face a tryhard killer/genrushing SWF? Most likey not but it doesn't matter for them. Winning is the only thing the community seems to want no matter how boring their playstyle is. This game is an arms race where the side that prepared themselves better wins.

I stopped caring about winning as killer at this point. Now I play almost exclusively Billy and try to go for curve hits that I can clip so I can rewatch them later.

I would rather wait 10 minutes than to play 5 back to back games with Wesker.

I said what I said. Stop gaslighting me cuz you don't agree.

    How am I gaslighting?

I can tell you straight away why longer queue times are a horrible idea. They drive people away from playing this game. Heard of VHS? That of one of the core reasons why it's dead. Teen in VHS is a lot of fun while monster is absolutely stressful. So barely anyone played monster. Almost everyone wants to play teen. This led to teen queues being 10-20 minutes long. And that drove players away. Most people don't want to wait a long time for a match. They willl simply go and play another game. And that's why I thik your idea is horrible.

  • @HugTechLover said:

This eryie is not worse than the old one. You can’t be serious.

Depending on which killer you are playing.

Billy and Bubba are two of my most played killers (alongside with Nurse) And they suffer even more. The dead bushes didn't get fixed and the pallet density is higher in the center of the map. And Billy was actually stronger on the old version since it was pretty easy for him to traverse the map. But the gens are more concentrated towards the sides of the map which you often can't traverse directly to. And it's also worse for Bubba since you can play way safer as a survivor now because the resources are closer together so chaining loops is now easier than before. For both killers this map has become absolutely atrocious (Though it always was bad for both).

  • This community really is willing to torture themselves with longer queue times. Just FYI: If they have to wait longer to find a game then you have to as well. All your change does is to increase queue times artificially which doesn't make sense.

  • I can see your point but there are things you can do so it won't be a free escape. Don't hook them near an open exit gate (If it's 99 and the survivor that got unhooked tapped the gate to open it they lose BT) and wait out their basekit BT (the chances that the unhooker has BT are near 0). I think that basekit BT is still fair since there is still room for counterplay but I wouldn't complain if it would deactivate in EG.

  • Punishing a player for a certain playstyle that has been demmed valid by the devs should not be punished. What you should rather do is rewarding those that play fair. BP incentives and even Iri shards for consistently playing fair should be the alternative solution. Altering the games pace based on how the killer plays is a horrible idea.

Stopped reading at the word "entitlement" because you're obviously not smart enough to know anything about anything. You think that we players are entitled that's because you scream the words I'm a killer main and have no friends.

Reading your comments it just confirms my theory. It's all about "me, me, me" never "us". You are one of the most self centered people in this forum. Guess Yun-Jin is your main lol.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/365442/how-i-would-change-map-offerings-though-there-is-a-reason-this-wont-happen

I fully agree with the proposal. It's not the first time it has been made if I recall (maybe by you in fact, I don't remember.)

The achievements being slow to get isn't an issue.

For a long time, the 3-blink-grab Nurse achievement has only been possible with a perk that also disabled going trough wall. Imagine how slow a survivor has to be to get grabbed by a 3-blink Nurse he sees coming for far away.

Or the infamous Evil Incarnate achievement that can be so easily denied.

It has been said several times that if an achievement is at all possible, then it's "fine".

I don't think that I made the proposal in the past, this should be the first time so it might have been someone else. I also think as well that achievements are not too big of a deal - after all, they are still doable. But I'm also aware of people thinking that the requirements for Outbreak Breakout is too much and that's why I'm thinking that it's not going to happen.

  • Well thank the devs by making a system that punishes you for being chill and nice and rewards you for being a sweaty tryhard. This game is all about winning now because the devs want to make this game competitive and "skill based". You get no value from being nice and playing either way feels soul draining now. I don't camp or tunnel and I still win regularly. But it's not about winning for me anymore. Even if I win I don't feel rewarded by it. No, it just feels soul draining. This is why I'm going to take a break.

  • This chapter is fully fledged. They put work into designing a killer and two survivors with a functioning power, a mori and music. There is no way that this is a false flag. Also no way the license holders would agree to something like this.

I mean sure but with a playerbase as large as DBD's that's still thousands of people.

Even 4 thousand people are going to be an underwhelming majority. And honestly it doesn't feel like many like this chapter (I don't like it either). The backlash on this chapter is incredibly large. Yes sometimes I see people saying that they actually like the concept of the new chapter but if you look at most content creators, most comments most Reddit posts and most forum posts you don't see many people saying they like it. This chapter is going to be review bombed once it's live and that's kinda sad if you watched the behind the scenes video where the devs look clearly very happy and excited about this chapter.

  • It's completely normal that assets are going to be reused and it's not like she looks completely like Trickster. The chapter is really bad but they have been working on it for quite some time, so it's not to be expected that they will scrap the chapter. We should just hope that BHVR will make as many changes as possible before it goes live.

  • I would argue the current speedboost is okay so I have an alternative solution to fix DH: The perk shouldn't work against insta down powers like Billy's chainsaw. It's ridiculous that you can tank through that (BT should be the exception).

  • @Tibbymane said:

This is something that needs to change badly in the DBD game itself. There needs to be no dc penalty for survivors because they won't do anything about camping people out of the game. They actually promote toxic killer gameplay by not allowing us to dc when a killer just sits there and watches you get sacrificed on hook. This is ridiculous as a avid consumer of this game and someone who spent their hard earned money on it, I should not be penalized for not wanting to play a game with someone who just camps every game they play. We all have had those consecutive games where that's all the killer player does because they aren't skillful enough to do anything otherwise. This game is probably more toxic than league of legends with a completely smaller community and that's saying something. As someone who plays the game a lot ( not more than most ) I should have the right to DC when I feel If nothing is being done about this problem. This game loses its fun when that's all killer players do because it takes zero skill to do so ESPECIALLY IF ITS A TOXIC BUBBA! If nothing is done about this I can pretty much guarantee that this community base is going to drop significantly when the new texas chainsaw massacre game comes out if this problem isn't dealt with. Also one more thing if a killer also has a horrible connection the survivors shouldn't be have to suffer a bad host killer connection because it reacts horribly for us those that have good internet. I should not be a hostage because they cannot afford good internet. That's their problem but without me being able to DC for free I'm in fact held hostage to a game I have to suffer so therefore it should be a bannable offense unless I can DC for free. I know the devs aren't going to read this or do anything to fix it because lets be honest they've had more than 6 years to do so, this is more for the community and my question to you all is: Why should we continue to support devs who don't actually care? Whose only concern is to continue to make skins as a problem solver just to get your money? Who won't change anything unless its for a dollar?

This post contains all sorts of delusional entitlement. NO(!!!) DC penalty for survivors? Great! Now they DC whenever they mess up, play against a killer they don't like, play on a map they don't like, play against a perk they don't like the list is long. The core reason for DC penaltys is that survivors are not just DCing where it's appropriate, but because the devs are very aware of the entitlement of this playerbase. This community complains about everything anyways. No they are not promoting toxic gameplay by not allowing you to DC without a penalty. The Devs stated multiple times by now that camping is NOT a bannable offense and thus you have no right to DC whenever you please. And guess what? The campers also spent their hard earned money on it but I know, I know. It's hard for you to think about anything else other than "me, me, me" which is exactly how your post reads like. It's always about you, never about other players. That's why you also shame killers who can't afford good internet. I mean you actually think that you should be entitled to DC when killers have bad internet... like what? Also if you think that this community is more toxic than League players you are massively delusional. The killer is not there to cater to your own fun, they play this game to have fun themselves. If winning is the very thing that's fun for them so be it. Your argument of the TCM dethroning this game is also sooo original. It's not like that has been said like 10 times in the past. Oh, Last Year: The Nightmare, Friday the 13th, VHS, Evil Dead: The Game is finally gonna kill DBD. I am looking forward to this game but again: Thinking that a single horror IP will dethrone DBD is so delusional, I'm honestly baffled about ridiculous claims like this. Also: The killer is not the host of the game. You are playing on dedicated servers. You should stop blaming killer players for all your problems you have in game. And the killer having a bad connection is not holding your hostage. If you don't want to support the game then leave. You are clearly not enjoying this game anymore.

And just in case you are saying that I just wrote my post because I'm an entitled killer main that searches for an excuse for camping or tunneling or having a bad connection: I am playing with highspeed ethernet and camping and tunneling are not my preffered playstyles because it's boring as hell but I do understand why killers do it (which you clearly don't). Peace

Agree, but I do like the blood drip kind of and the death pose lol, literally straight out of family guy

But yeah i do agree it's pretty dumb they didn't even get the survivor to look behind them and then she stabs them in the stomach multiple times, she's not really invisible like Freddy does in his mori and the drone should really be giving it away

Honestly there should have been happining more with the drone in the mori. Perhaps a gunshot. Or a laserbeam would be nice. But no. They serve absolutely no purpose.

  • The Skull Merchant's mori is literally a more boring version of Freddy's mori

  • If they are just randomly hitting it's probably deranking (losing mmr) or farming points. In both cases they use programms that just swing so the game doesn't recognize that they are afk.

  • Well I'm glad that it lost the core reason of it's oppressiveness, however you should never do something with current progression but flat progression. That's what I don't understand. Nobody said to the devs that they should nerf the regression part as well.

  • Yeah... that was pretty underwhelming

  • @fulltonon said:

I like how you blatantly says "kill rates will be over 50%" without any actual evidence that backs up it lol

Come on. The killrates were over 60%. As if the Eruption nerf will drop it down to under 50. I literally play every game without that OP perk and still do very well. And tunneling is effective enough to make you win most games depending on how good you are as killer. As if Eruption is the only thing that kept killrates high.

    wrong.

oh sorry, i just did the same as you. saying something without a real argument.

and btw i never said "killer impossible". my argument is that with all the changes it has become really difficult for not-so-strong killers and maybe with not-so-meta perks to get balanced matches.

if anyone denies that killer perks are nerfed with a baseball bat, denies that killers dont even get a hook counter, denies that lower tier killer struggle <on average> a lot more due to many survivor friendly changes and denies that gens can be done much faster... i dont know, then that one is maybe playing another game?

You are delusional thinking that killers somehow are in a bad state just because of the recent survivor buffs. It's your fault playing with the weakest killers and a weak build against full meta survivors. If you want to win, how about bringing a proper loadout? It's like you want to get those wins gifted to you. Yes low tier killers struggle more then the strongest how shocking...

Also who denies that killers don't have a hook counter? Literally never mentioned in my comment lol.

"you still have a good amount of alternatives to Eruption"

Like what ? No, seriously, i'm sure you have more knowledge than me and i don't know those alternatives, can you name me a few ?

"looking how you can improve as killer"

Again, you're for sure more skilled than me, please tell me how i can improve my Mayers/Freddy/Twin/Trapper gameplay, maybe on Decimated Borgo map without using any gen regression perks

"a full potential survivors can stomp most killers to the ground."

I'm sorry i'm confused now, haven't you just said killers are fine and it's just a matter of skill and now "most killers" are going to be stomped against good survivors. So..are killers fine or "most killers sucks" ?

"Balancing wise killer is in a good place."

True, trapper is so in a good place rig..oh wait you meant Blight/Wesker/Spirit are in a good place..is that you meant right ? And for balance you mean exactly what ? They are strong against low level or new players and have no chance against a comp team or even a medium skilled team on almost every map ? Well yes if you mean that yes, killers are balanced.

You are twisting my words which is fine but I want to clarify some things:

    1) Here is a list of alternatives:

    • Gen kicking perk synergize just fine without Eruption
    • Pain Res + DMS
    • Gen stalling perk (Corrupt Intervantion + Deadlock) can buy a lot of time
    • You still have many info perks: Lethal, Discordance, Tinkerer, BBQ, Floods etc.
    • Save the Best for Last
    • Sloppy + Terminus is the perfect counter for those who use Adrenaline and don't bother healing
    • Other endgame perks help as well

like I said. Plenty of alternatives

    2) What you can do is recording a match and reviewing it afterwards. Also it's funny how you listed the weakest killers on one of the most survivor sided maps and an unoptimized build and used that as an argument against my post. But that was never my argument. I mean killers overall not the weakest killers when everything favors the survivors. You are making a silly comparison here. Even with Trapper you have a chance of winning if your build is optimized and the map isn't too terrible for him. Also my argument was that killer won't be impossible just because Eruption got nerfed so your argument missed my point. You rather hyperfocused on the weak end of the killer spectrum and asked me: "how are you supposed to win on these scenarios?" But that wasn't my point. Overall killer is not impossible.

    3) I literally said "at full potential"... as if the survivors you go against always at full potential. No full potential means Hens's winstreak squad not your average SWF you go against. Winning against those will still be very possible without Eruption if you play your cards right.

    4) Even mid-tier killers are in a fine state. Stop using low-tier killers as an argument of why killer OVERALL is in a weak state. You can also say: Oh survivor is just fine? What about me playing with OoO and no mither? is survivor still fine then? Well if you play in the weakest form possible don't be surprised if you lose. I'm talking about killer experience OVERALL not in every case. Because both sides obviously have issues.

Why should the weakest killers on the roster with bad loadouts be able to compete against the best players on the other side? That would be a horrible game. It's ok if better players win. There's nothing wrong with that. People have this notion that killers should always be able to compete regardless of killer choice, build, or skill level. Why? That wouldn't be a balanced game at all, it would just be tipping the scale in the other direction.

Well it's true though that we should make the weakest killer atleast not completely useless and be able to compete with the stronger killers, otherwise there is no variety at the top level. Sure trapper will always remain weak, but you can still make meaningful changes to him or atleast the maps that have 0 grass.

Exactly. Just because one side got buffed/nerfed, doesn't mean that the other side needs the same treatment as well. Perk on survivor side are typically not comparable on the other side. What needs to be done is that we look into all perks and need to decide whether it's priblematic or not.

Sorry to tell you bhvr hire me as a gardener to cut grass and throw salt at the field.

Also i painted in yellow trapper traps.

Jokes aside, i like trapper a lot but man is it hard to get results, long time i dont play trapper, just feels sooo bad unless you play basement trapper.

I've played him recently for a few games and the results were mixed. There were really successful matches where everything worked out in the end, there were matches where a coordinated SWF was demolishing me but they all stepped on traps at the end, giving me a free win but there were also matches where I had almost no chance of winning. It was mainly depending on maps. Grass is such an important factor for him and I hope BHVR realises that and give maps more grass.

Also stop cutting down the grass you meanie :(

  • Well maybe the recent survivor buffs lead to more survivors being more coordinated. If that would be the case maybe BHVR can see how strong survivors can actually be on certain maps and make meaningful changes to killers

  • Even though he is the poster boy they have long forgotten about him ingame. Let's see if the new Red Forest is still viable for him or if they removed all tall grass

Ah yes the typical argument brought by the DBD community: "You are saying that thing X will happen that means you are doing it already and you just searching for excuses blah blah blah" Never in the thread did I state that I have to tunnel more because of the upcoming Eruption nerf. This thread was based on my experience. The Ruin and Pop nerf lead to a massive surge of tunneling but got less after people used Eruption more and more. For me I experience tunneling in my survivor games in like 4/10 matches. But I'll estimate that it will be in like 7/10 matches after the Eruption nerf. It's also hard to believe that your killers tunnel every single game as you state.

Ah, there it is. The ultimate statement: "more tunneling (and camping)" due to upcoming Perk Nerfs. Which always feels like a threat aka "Dont nerf this or we will tunnel more!!"

Guess what Killers already tunneled the ######### out of Survivors. And it will not change, you can buff every Killer to Nurse- or Blight-Level and buff every Perk to the strength of current Eruption and Killers would still tunnel.

In my thread I never stated that I'm going to tunnel more. This post was based on my previous experience as survivor when Pop and Ruin got nerfed into the ground. People had the need to tunnel more to achieve the same results like in the past. But tunneling got less in my games after people realized just how overpowered Eruption is. Well my bet is that it will be more rampant in my survivor games since Eruption will no longer carry killers after getting gutted until the community discovers another extremely strong perk that can single handedly carry killers to easy wins like Eruption does. Not every killer wants to tunnel but most killers want to win games, so they will resort to excessive tunneling every game, no matter if it's a genrushing SWF or casual SoloQ survivors.

honestly, probably better. That plus the idea of inverting the hook aura hiding so that it's more difficult to actually wander off to a more distant hook.

Yeah. That could be included as well.
