no way, that is a lie. someone who is okay with Nurse as a survivor? thats a myt- no a legend from eons ago,
One of my favorite killers to face. The only killer I absolutely despise is Trickster.

Trickster. His amount of Knifes he can throw makes me feel like dodging them is pointless since he is going to down you anyways. He is not strong by any means but annoying

Going to disagree on that one.
Even though i do agree that people tend to complain a bit too often about things they haven't put to much thought in. Not complaining about anything would lead into actual problems getting through
Like the double locker blind tech, or boil over making it impossible to hook people. Those things didn't happen that often but are still game breaking. Imagine if people didn't complain and gave feedback about such things.
Sadly these kinds of complaints is the manure that allows the game to grow.
Stinky but necesarry
I never said anything about talking about problems. The Eruption meta is problematic too. What I called out in my post are people acting like their role is impossible because one certain thing. The double locker tech had basically no counterplay. But how impactful was it in your games. I faced that like twice. And in both matches I still won. So was killer impossible now because of that? No, absolutely not. Was is a real problem? Yes, it totally was. But saying that winning as killer is impossible because for example the HUD update is ridiculous.

I am going to give you several hints at the strategy I am refferring to. It can be a strategy that existed at any point in the history of DBD.
If you believe your opponent is using this strategy, you must drastically change the way you play to have any hope of winning.
When taken to the extremes, can be used to hold the game hostage.
The killer constantly drops chase on survivors while this strategy is in play.
This strategy involves forcing the game into a specific area of the map.
This strategy is extremely unfun for your opponent(s).
I will edit the strategy I am referring to into the post at a later date or after someone successfully guesses what I am thinking
I thought maybe slugging but you said that the killer constantly drops chase. So what might it be? You already said that the answer is not 3-gen so that's out of question. Maybe constant bodyblocking while the killer chases a survivor but I don't see where you hold the game hostage. It also can't be the PTB Reassurance since your are not constantly dropping chases. It also can't be the old sabo where hooks can'T recover since the killer isn't constantly dropping chase. Honestly I'm running out of ideas so I'm staying with slugging even though that's most likely not the correct answer.

Its either that or they provoke reactions out of people for content the have the audacity to act surprised
This is why I think Aaron Duke's recent video was so important. We should focus more on the positive things this game has and why we originaly started playing.
-
It doesn't surprise me though. GoJ is heavily survivor sided with the amount of pallets you can chain together and a ridiculous main building so is it really shocking that a good amount of survivor mains would vote for this map. The Game also favors a good amount of killers despite the amount of pallets so many killer mains that main a killer that thrives on this map would love to play on this map more. Honestly I'm fine with Ormond, Coal Tower and DDS being more often in the map rotations.

After announcing a future system that will prevent us from going to the same maps over and over again we are going to be in an event where we play the same maps over and over again. Love it. Hello dead dawg, Ormond, and coal tower.
This system will only prevent us from getting the same maps twice in a row. That doesn't mean that you will only get GoJ once per day. You can still get it every 2 games

That's exactly the reason why I hate watching a lot of dbd related content. It's either and bear with me when I say these examples.
"Rank One build?"
"Best killer build (literally meta)"
"Ultimate Survivor Build (literally meta)"
"Salty..."
It's either constant videos of running meta to win, salt farming, or camping Bubb videos. Nothing original it feels like
It's also funny how they want to tell us how salty and toxic one side is but they are salty and toxic all the time. There is nothing wrong to tryhard against toxic survivors/killers so they don't get their way but I often have the feeling they themselves are not even a bit better when it comes toxicity.

I find my issue to be with Matchmaking more than anything else. When the incentive is less than 100% to either side my matches are usually fair and I can pick out the individual mistakes or instances that shift the balance of the match. When the queues are more unbalanced and the matchmaking gets borked in favor of queue times I'll have those matches of stomps going either way.
Matchmaking issues are understandable but atleast yoou are not trying to spin it in a way where one side is supposedly impossible now

Yeah I saw that post, I evven replied to it. And it was the final inspiration for this post. I obviously don't want to target anyone that's why I didn't mention them and I don't want to put blame to the poster of that thread. Doing that would add absolutely nothing and that person posting the thread is not by any means one of a few that does it. It's a community wide issue and I'm kinda getting tired of it. He was just an example of it but I wouldn't have made this post if it wouldn't be that common.
-

but then what would streamers make content about? the lore? the art? nah. it's gotta be clickbait youtube rage posts about balance.
True. Bait videos that will fuel emotions drives in far more viewers than just trying to reasonably discuss balancing issues. But hey the community and especially Twitter loves us vs them so people will keep going into this direction. I often see people so emotionally loaded in this game that they starting fights in comment sections where they are insulting each other. Like you can't say anything about this game without someone saying "yeah your comment just shows me that you are blah blah blah" and accuse you of doing something even though they can't even know if that's the case.
-
So soloQ should just be as miserable as before because YOU have a streak of bad games? Blaming your losses on the HUD buffs is ridiculous. Even SWF were not unbeatable. If you have trouble winning maybe try to ask you what kind of misplays you did. Where could you have done a better choice. And why did the survivors got atleast 2 man out. it's insane how this community aimpy can't see when it's their fault, both killers and survivors. Weirdly enough I haven't have the feeling that survivors are OP now. There are only a few instances where I got genrushed but I usually still ended up at a 2k even without the sweaty tactics which are camping and tunneling.

Midwich is not killer sided. Don’t let the devs’ statistics (which say it has the highest kill rate) fool you.
Midwich is the most killer sided map. It's small, it's very easy to 3 gen and patrol gens in general and survivors often have trouble finding gens which cost them a lot of time. Aside from that most pallets aren't very safe. Onryo, Nurse, Blight, Dredge, Hag and many other killers excel on this map. And even though only the courtyard has grass the fact that Trapper can shut down entire entrances makes him a viable killer as well.

The fengs i see arent using her for her perks. Its purely cosmetics wise. Which theres nothing wrong with but that goes back to my point people would use other characters if they had better cosmetics
I was talking about the original reason, why they are maining this survivor. Of course over time people will play with different perks than the original survivor has. But the main reason why they were playing the survivor in the first place is most likely because of their perks. You just stick to a survivor and THEN maybe buy some cosmetics. I started maining Adam because I liked his perks and even though I'm not playing him with his perks anymore the reason why I play him has nothing to do with cosmetics. I just sticked to keep playing him.

If you can’t get to a tile off those 3 seconds, that’s a you issue. Perk should be about providing a 2nd chance when you need it most, not free getaway on the spot that rapes you cause you picked someone up.
It's 2 seconds to get away since you are locked in an animation for the first second. And not every map is filled to the brim with resources
-
People need to stop acting like cosmetics are the only thing people care about when playing a survivor cuz it's completely wrong. People are maining a survivor because of their perks. What kind of beginner friendly perks does Elodie have in comparison to Feng. None in comparison to Alert and Lithe. Appraisal is underwhelming, while Deception and Power Struggle only work in some niche builds. Alert and Lithe work just fine by themselves and need no perk synergy. Do I think Elodie could get some more cosmetics? Yes but come on. We should not act like cosmetics would be a gamechanger.

Jesus no, enough with the basekit sh*t man. Y’all want the whole damn perk roster basekit at this rate.
There needs to be a proper way of dealing with playstyles like tunneling without having the need of running a perk. That's also why I want Grim Embrace basekit. Play fair and you can stall them from genrushing you.
-
I mean it's your job as killer to create deadzones to have shorter chases. If a survivor runs from pallet to pallet try to get rid of some of them and then pressure gens. This is why I love tinkerer. It tells you when to pressure gens and which gens to pressure. Eventually they will have to run into large deadzones and that's the part of the game where you are putting a lot of pressure onto them.
-
the fact that this still didn't get fixed is ridiculous. I played recently as KNight on Ormond. Mid chase the survivor ran to the pallet and I wanted to summon a guard to the pallet to kick it before he could make it. Instead of that I grabbed him of the pallet because he vaulted at the same time when I wanted to kick the pallet. I let him wiggle free because I never abuse exploits. But it really surprised me because I thought they fixed it.

https://gonintendo.com/attachments/image/15970/file/e985e46cf38ae5a3bf9ebb02d95d8133.png
Looks like we need:
MAJOR buffs:
- Nurse
- Trickster
- Hillbilly
- Demogorgon
- Doctor
Minor Buffs:
- Trapper
- Blight
- Twins
- Deathslinger
- Huntress
Minor nerfs:
- Pinhead
- Sadako
- Wesker
And if you disagree, then you don't believe the game should be balanced around average players, you believe the game should be balanced around average SURVIVOR players, but balanced around the top tier KILLER players. Which simply shows that you are extremely biased.
So which is?
Do we:
- Balance the game around average players
- Balance the game around top players
- You are biased
First of all everyone is biased in their own way. You can't change that. Also killrates are extremely inprecise for a killers balancing. Nurse in the top ranks is the most oppressive killer by far but a baby nurse won't get many kills and drains the statistics. If I would make balancing changes they would have to do with making her more beginner friendly while she stays almost the same for experienced players since they are already pretty successful in pubs. We need feedback from the community to see how problematic a killer is. Statistics are not enough.
Like I said: you can never make an asymmetrical horror game balanced. You always need to adjust things so nothing is going to be problematic. Balancing the game around top tier players is just as important as balancing the game around average players. In both cases the survivors and killers should never have the feeling that they are getting slaughtered every game and while the top tier players should have the feeling that they earned the kills/escapes the average and low tier players should not get the feeling that they have to tryhard every game.

Exactly, so you agree then that we shouldn't balance the game around the "average" player right? I'm responding to this part in your post where you said:
And how often do you go against those teams? Probably never since these survivors did this streak as some sort of an experiment. Nobody is going so tryhard in pubs like Hens winstreak squad. So my question is simple. Do you balance this game around the "average" player, because that is what the vast majority of players are? Or, do you balance the game around top level players like hen, or alf who are able to win 500+ games in a row?
Just because they are not the sweatiest, most tryhard team doesn't mean a SWF is average. Even top tier SWF will not play like this. We need to balance around all players. You need balance for average, beginners and top tier. This is not a game like Rocket League, this is an asymmetrical horror game so there is not really a competitive nature thus you need to make this game enjoyable for good and bad players.

probably one of the more interesting interactions ive had. tried to argue with me during end game chat, i left and he decided to seek out my steam profile to continue his string of insults.
Some people are just so mad that I'm genuinely baffled why they keep playing. It's clearly bad for their mental health if they are being so angry.
I played as barebone Nurse on Father Campbell's Chapel. I played fair and non toxic. They still gave up anyway. After the game 2 survivors were pretty salty, told me that they'll report me (as if me playing Nurse is reportable lol) and both of them left me nice comments afterwards too.
I cannot take clowns like these serious. Telling me that they'll report me (for whatever reason) but then proceed to wish my family a very bad illness plus insults. Like are they even using their brain for one minute? I could have literally reported them for harassment and that could have had some serious consequences. I obviouls deleted those, they don't deserve to have a plattform on my profile.

First off you're the one who cursed me out over me saying you probably dont have skills. I dont get why cry baby killers like you want it to be nerfed into the ground. Why can killers have good perks and survivors cant. If they can make the timing why cant they use dh against your power? Also they have to be already injured to even be able to use dh against you. And in your original post i thought that you were saying that youve gone against people using dh all game while injured. Like i said you seem upset over nothing
I didn't curse that is just BHVR censoring. I said "what the f-word" and it got censored. It's not getting nerfed into the ground if it wouldn't work against his chainsaw anymore. It could still counter Nurse's blink attack, Blights lethal rushes, Huntress hatchets and so on but the insta down powers which are meant to insta down you anyway. It's especially annoying if not borderline unfair against Billys power since you can tank through his power. A power that has already strong limitations, is hard to control and easy to counter. Successful curving is one of the most skillful plays in DBD so why should the effort be punished like that? I'm literally fine against it working against most powers, it requires timing and reading of when killers are going to attack you. But against Billy's chainsaw? No way! And yes they have to be injured to use DH but you forget something. If I insta down them with my power and hook them they are injured when being unhooked and good survivors are going to stay injured against the chainsaw killers since they want to be able to tank a hit against their powers. If my post read like I was insulting you I'm sorry about that but I still disagree with what you said. And I'm definitely not crying about your comments all I'm doing is giving my opinion.

I will admit, being able to DH against special attacks shouldn't be a thing. Super silly.
Tbf I'm not advocating to make DH useless against every M2 just the insta down powers since they already have plenty of counterplay and if you get hit by those you shouldn't be able to extend the chase.

Saying that dh shouldn’t work against m2 is like saying noed shouldn’t work if you have adrenaline that sounds ridiculous…
Oh really? So in your opinion it's okay that Billys power can be hard countered by staying injured even though pulling it off is pretty hard on certain tiles? So we should just punish skillful plays like curving by allowing survivors to tank it? Also you just compared two perks together as a counterargument to me saying that DH should not negate insta down powers. And no DH should still work against M2 attacks like Nurse's blink attacks, just not Billy's chainsaw sprint or Bubba's chainsaw sweep since those powers are meant to insta down you. Both powers are also easy to counter so it's kinda ridiculous to make a perk to be able to entirely negate these powers.

You seem upset buddy. Lol
It's always nice when people hide behind empty statements when they know they have no counter argument. But hey, why even bother giving an explanation if the other side won't even properly respond to it. Either give me reasons why DH against insta down powers has to do with skill issues or perhaps just don't say anything if you don't have anything to say. And to answer your pointless comment: I'm not upset just confused about how people countering my power with DH by staying injured the whole match is apparently a skill issue.

They are common perks on both sides.. Eruption, call of brine, pain resonance, Noed are very common for killers. Its just hypocritical to only complain about one and not the others.
What has this to do with my comment? So I'm not allowed to tell you what annoys me about DH if I don't simultaniously complain about Eruption as well? Yes Eruption is overkill and needs a rework ASAP but that still has not anything to do with my comment. DH should not negate insta-down powers period.
-
@K_Nottie16 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336192#Comment_3336192
This seems like a skill issue on your end if you really let a survivor be in the hurt stage the whole game.
I literally just said if a survivor DECIDES to stay injured the whole game because DH counters my power, how is that a skill issue? I don't let survivors be in the "hurt" stage, they just don't bother healing. The best survivors will never heal against Leatherface, Billy and maybe some other killers like Michael because DH hard counters their power. In fact when I play Billy or Bubba I WANT them to heal because that means they are not on gens during that time. That's why I'm happy whenever I hear the boon sound as those killers. And how is that a skill issue if someone Dead Hards a successful curve as Billy? Isn't that the opposite? Or is it very easy to get a curve hit in your opinion?
DH should just work against attacks that take away one health state. Insta down powers and exposed should power through Dead Hard and it's not fair IMO that they can negate powers that shouldn't be negated in the first place. I'm fine with BT and MoM working against those powers, not DH.
-
The main issue with DH is that it hard counters insta down powers (especially hurts Billy). Like how is it fair when a survivor decides to stay injured for the rest of the match so they can't get instadowned against my saw? It's the biggest punch in the face whenever I get an insane flick only for the survivor to press E and still being good to go. It just shouldn't work against insta down powers. Other than that it is in a fine state.

Just because something is rare, doesn't mean it is balanced. God nurses are also rare, yet we keep nerfing her, even though the stats bear out that she isn't OP based on your logic, because nurse has the lowest win rate, we should actually be buffing her (devs are going for a 60% kill rate):
https://gonintendo.com/attachments/image/15970/file/e985e46cf38ae5a3bf9ebb02d95d8133.png
https://gonintendo.com/attachments/image/15972/file/a02ac4d6e71d06d644e0b235bb4249b3.png
I never used killrates as an argument. Nurse is (basekit) by far the most powerful killer in the right hands and as you just showed on the top 5% MMR she has a killrate of over 60%. That Nurse that beat the squad was very strong and she had a build specifically made to secure at least 2 kills. It just shows me that if both sides pla at their full potential, the top tier Nurse is going to win. You know exactly why the killrate are not an accurate depiction of her true strength. A god tier Nurse is almost never losing games high killrate or not.

and then again, if that's the way it works then why didn't I get 15 ez wins in a row after the long breaks for the killer ?
I have a hard time believing you that your very first game was against a 2k hour SWF. No way! Also you said that you got a 2k hour SWF as killer but how many hours did the killers have? If you get easy wins no diff then they are most likely babies. Just play survivor for a certain amount of time, your matches will get more tryhard and miserable.

I don't believe you that you go against death squads regularly, they aren't that common. And you don't get those squads by doing nothing. At the highest level of play, survivors are far more powerful than anything ANY (yes even nurse) killer can ever bring. No killer will ever be able to stand a chance against a team like this:
Far more powerful than even Nurse? Guess which killer obliterated their streak and it was not even close... like I said: adjusting your build and playstyle can be the deciding factor. And how often do you go against those teams? Probably never since these survivors did this streak as some sort of an experiment. Nobody is going so tryhard in pubs like Hens winstreak squad.
-
The best way of punishing gens before friends is by confirming second stages and that is very easy since they try to wait for the last possible moment until they have to save.
I had a match as Billy on dead dawg. Mid game I hooked a Yui and she was second stage. Now while I chased a survivor I noticed that a Meg was walking (she had sprint burst) towards the hook and the Yui was about to die. So I capitalized on that and chainsaw sprinted towards the hook downing Meg when she was about to unhook the Yui. Yui died and now I had a much bigger pressure. This mistake was what cost them the game. And this is literally the deciding factor in almost all of my games. I lose because I'm too nice and allow them to prioritize them to do gens before unhooking even though I should punish that. More and more survivors are trying this high risk high reward strategy of unhooking late so they can do gens so I should capitalize on that as killer.
-
@CosmicParagon said:

Those "multi-thousand hour survivor teams" are spending a lot of time and money in the game. No way they won't cater to them. If you fell that you are going against those squad maybe adjust your build and playstyle. That can help you winning more games.

I believe it's in the game since a few months and the fact that BHVR has not adressed it yet is infuriating. It literally makes an entire power unusable if you don't hold it until you trigger the tantrum. There are other bugs on Leatherface that they have not adressed yet.
-
They need to change the way Bubba accelerates with his chainsaw. If I remember correctly it reaches full speed after 60% of your first charge - which is the reason why it takes him longer to accelerate with chili and Carburetor Tuning Guide. Chili extends your charge time and carburetor merges all charges into once. That has the problem, that you accelerate extremely slow on top of the -2% movement speed penalty. This should never be an iri addon. All it does is taking away the fact that you have to time charges which is not a good thing especially since beginners should learn how to time the charges (and it's an iri addon thus very rare and you don't get to play with it every game). It also has the massive disadvantage that since all your charges are being merged into one you will always have 0 charges if you end your power that also includes breaking a pallet.
Maybe Bubba needs a set time until he reaches full speed no matter the duration. I think after 1 second he should be at full speed.

Please can you not comment if you're going to propose something which makes 0 sense, you can only repair a gen, you can't repair a gen 3 different ways.
I was merely doing a joke. You literally said as a solution that you can't hit a survivor twice meaning that you can down NOBODY so you can't do your objective. And yes you do the gens by holding m1 obviously but you know there is that thing called loadout. And there are those perks that are being called gen progression perks. And those are fairly common nowadays, might I say way too common. What I'm trying to say is that survivors are focusing more and more on gen efficiency. BNPs are not a rarity anymore and quite few survivors run almost 4 gen perks. And that is obviously okay. It's their objective thus it's in their interest to get it done quickly. Instead of being altruisic and more focused on chases survivors are leaning more and more to sticking to gens just like killers are tunneling more commonly. Both sides want to be efficient doing their objective and that is fine.
But hey if you are really against tunneling I have an amazing idea that couldn't be abused by survivors: BP incentives for fair play. Why shoud we always punish for being a naughty player when we can reward the good ones instead? Maybe make the now patched out BBQ stacks basekit? And to incentivize survivors to be more altruistic we can make the former WGLF BP stacks basekit as well. That sounds like the way to go for me.

based on these comments i see most of these people are killer mains....
Based on your comments I see that you are a survivor main... and is there anything wrong about it? Your subtle insult against players that prefer a certain role is meaningless and you really shouldn't be saying that since your bias seems to be on the survivor side. And there is of course nothing wrong with being biased towards a side. But let's take your comment more serious and let me explain that your idea won't work.
There is a reason why you go against the same killers all day. It's because these killers are being picked very often. Now imagine survivors have the option to ban 3 killers. Not much as you say. Well expect painful queue times since most survivors would probably ban Nurse, Blight and a 3rd strong killer. VHS currently has the issue of insane teen queue times since like 6 months and it essentially led to it's death. That's because people don't like waiting an eternity and just move on to another game.
If you want more variety in killers you face they need to create incentives. BP bonus for playing unpopular killers and buffing the weaker killers to make them more viable

Hmmm...maybe you do not watch the popular streamers? Every one of them who streams constantly successfully dh and go down. Maybe you have selective hearing? Listen to their comments and watch their streams. Probably the easiest one to observe this on is the JRM. I want the game fair for both sides. If a killer could not hook because of a broken game function I would not try to dissuade them from asking for a solution. Why do you want the game to remain broken? Are you a killer main and don't care about fairness?
I am a killer main indeed but that doesn't weaken my point just in the slightest. I almost never have a problem getting the endurance hit when I'm actually successfully pulling it off. Also keep in mind that DH is dependent on your ping. With a bad commection you are not able to time it well anyways. But you know that is the issue with timing based mechanics in an online game. SO the solution should maybe be to rework DH to make it not timing based anymore? You never can make such a perk not being dependant to your or the opponents ping. And your proposed solution has nothing to do with fixing your problem and only sounds as a band aid fix to cover up the actual problem with the perk.

This is how genrushing should be nerfed
Its clear that genrushing will always be an issue, yes its a "strategy" but it becomes obnoxious when 9/10 games that's all you ever see.
I propose a cap on genrushing. How it would work would be by the following;
- If survivor is genrushing to win in a game
- The next 2 games the survivor will be unable to work on a gen
- If the survivor rage quits/dc's in any of these two games, it will add +1 to the genrushing cooldown timer
This would not only make the game fun again, it would make the game fluid again too!
See how ridiculous that sounds if you flip the coin? Getting a survivor out of the game quickly or being efficient on gens are valid strategys (yes it IS a strategy even though you don't like to admit that given that you put quotation marks on strategy) to win the game. It is in the best interest of both sides to beat the other that's how the game works. If you don't like getting tunelled maybe play another game because it makes no sense whatsoever to "balance" it. A 3v1 is much easier to deal with thatn a 4v1.
