If that's how your games are going then the anti-camp mechanic will probably result in even more DCs.
Fine by me. Result would be the same, next match would be even quicker, plus camper/tunneler will suffer, unlike current conditions.

Solo survivor destroyer, team comp SWF no chance.
That's basically every killer, but I'd argue about SFW no chance.
Design - great.
Gameplay - great.
Mechanic - great.
One of the coolest aquisition DbD got.
-
I literally have fun with any killer that don't camp or tunnel (which is SUPER RARE).
I struggle with some killers more and don't know how to counter them (ghostface, singularity, nurse, blight), but it's still fun when they not being morons and not stick to single survivor or put nose into groin of hooked survivor.
-
I don't know how current "meta" helps, but SoloQ is as frustrating, as always. Want to crush everything around when I play survivor.
-
Although I don't use this "playstyle" (as well as camping), I can surmise why it's "fun" for someone. It comes only to two ways.
1) hurt/annoy/troll someone. I haven't saved the links, but in general it's "show 'em pesky survivors", "if I don't have fun, no one will", one kid in the post confessed that when he has bad day at school, he picks insidious Bubba. So the gist is: weak miserable personality.
2) Very scared to lose even once and clinging at least to a single kill. Problem with killers is that it's really a walk in a park on low MMR to mid-uppermid SoloQ. After that, when you get more hardcore survivors, you have nothing to oppose them skill-wise, but ego forbids losing, there go the cheapest skilless tactic. The gist is: weak miserable personality.
So we see in reality it's only weak miserable personality.
Did you notice, that if you face camper/tunneler, 80% there will be hook slaps, bleedout and/or BM in endgame chat? It's just as a common rule. If team somehow counters scum tactic (break the camping or god-looper got tunneled), there will be either DC or so much trashtalk that your eyes will burn.
------
By the way, I lied, I facecamp sometimes when doors are opened, also find it is very OK when killers do, because they literally have nothing else to do, plus this endgame-collapse fight is always fun and could shift the scale to complete victory or complete defeat. EGC is my favorite part of the game on both sides.

It feels like Meg is the loudest. Also she constanly panting like very experienced smoker. And she's athlete!
Looks like life in the fog really harsh, if Meg started smoking so much....
-
I think that it's just very new feature, that appeared only with Nick. Ripley already has voicelines, maybe they will give voice to previous characters, but next ones will probably have voice as standard.
Remember that after Ash, the first lobby-talker was Ada and Bekka, and after that Jill got voice, and almost all characters after say something.
So I think it's just fresh feature.

I mean this in the least rude way possible, could this be a you issue? All three of those Killers have a lot they can carry over to the other, and as a Billy main I wouldn't put any of the three as toughest (albeit all three are tough) .
Like I struggle too much with Trapper and Hag, but in no world would I call them hardest to master, I just ain't that good to plan everything out like that... if that makes sense :p
Of course it my issue. Blight is the second tier killer after nurse, I see what people can do. I opposed tons of Oni's, and had my share of Billies. It's just there's something I still don't know, but I can't do anything with them, the momen I use their powers, I give survivors room to breath and escape. Back in a days, all "adepts" I did by NEVER using their powers.
So I don't quite get your point. It's obviously my issue, but aint what this post is about?
P.S.
I was hag main for a year. Love that granny <3
-
Hardest are Billy, Blight and Oni. After 1600h I still cannot do anything (or just ignore their powers), literally anything, just either M1 or lose.
Second are Nox, Bubba and Nurse.
All others are very manageble. So it's extremely subjective.

I think this is part of my problem. I've been having the most difficulty with Trapper (go figure) and I try to mind-game pallets when I can, but it feels like the survivors are inside my head.
I haven't been trapping them either because I've been testing out the new purple bag so I don't want to waste my traps at pallets if I can't pick them up; the few times I've tried that, they've been conveniently disarmed right as whoever I'm chasing is headed back to the loop.
I try to do the trick where you start to place a trap and start, but they usually make enough distance to get to the next loop.
For trapper its more beneficial, as a "rule of thumb", to place traps when no one sees you, also in unexpected places. Everyone expect trap in a doorfram or under pallet, but never on popular path between two POIs, for example.
As for mindgames, you could stuff up many aura perks that activates during chase ("I'm all ears" for example), and just see how survivors behave inside certain loops, how they react on your movement and your red stain. Last two are very important, with that knowledge you can bait them into doing certain things, and you will know when to vault window, when to hide stain, when to show it deliberately, etc.
-
It's very hard to tell without example. If you could provide record, it would be helpful.
Without that I can only imagine EGC with Made-for-This + Hope. Or you don't like breaking pallets.
-
Tunneling only fair for new Alien, when he crawls in his tunnels. In all other cases it's cheap cheese tactic, because it destroys weaker teams and completely backfires against decent teams.
So no, "noob-stomper" never fair.
-
If used to apply pressure, very ok (although could be boring sometimes, but ok). If used to harass players and show killer's feeble-mindedness, then not ok.
-
And note, that Otz went against very coordinated survivors with top-tier perks, doing random perk streak on not very strong killer. And on not the easiest map for clown. And still he was doing pretty fine, 6 hooks. If not some mistakes that throwed him back a lot, he could still beat them.
But yeah, let's nerf survivors (solos, of course)
-
I'd rather had feature that prevent encountering certain player (like in Dark Souls), but I understand why they never add this. Although I wish they would, at least a dozen slots.

Oh yes of course, I forgot this one.
But I was talking about creatures coming from african or middle eastern lore,
Correct me if I am wrong but the Wraith doesn't belong in this category ?
One guy made a poll sometime ago about which lore to include, there were a lot of ideas. We got modern culture covered, but if we are talking about folklore, there is motherload of ideas.
From African i'd pick Baron Samedi or Jhinn/Ifrit right of the bat. But besides that, there are slavic, greek, central american, south american and many many more. The only japan could provide hundreds of killers (although I'd pause on japanese, because we already have two onryos, oni, titans, new skin sets, etc etc.)
-

I thing Wraith might be from Africa, but I'n not 100% sure (his powers and add-ons are connected with VooDoo, so he can actually be Afro-American). Although I like geographical and timeline diversity this game have, so I would like to see more killers from different regions and times.
P.S More survivors not from present times, like Victorio Toscano, and Gabriel Soma may also be nice.
Very true, he is Nigerian.

The Twin's whole playstyle revolves heavily around slugging and camping, more so than any other killer in the game. For Survivors, if your not constantly making sure to be healed up you'll just end up losing the match because Victor is unloopable and gets downs incredibly easy, and for Killers if your not slugging and camping chances are you'll lose because of how awful their time efficiency is. Speaking of Victor he has a million and one issues for both sides as well like how his hitbox on the survivor perspective looks absolutely unfair and as Killer having to deal with his awful FOV and tendency to get caught on invisible objects makes playing as him unfun for both sides.
There are also a million more things I haven't mentioned like how unfun it is to be kicked by a survivor, how awful most of the twin's addons are, how every single time you land a hit as Victor you have to wait for 5 seconds for your cool down to end and 3 seconds to regain control of charlotte, victor sometimes randomly dying on stairs because of how his death, survivors holding victor turning you into a boring and weak M1 Killer with some map knowledge, how easily maps can screw you over, need I go on?
Well, if I understood correctly, problems in three ways: bad playstyle, technical issues and some inconveniences. In my personal experience, I could name lot of killers that feels much much worse. The only thing I see that should be taking into account is technical problems (Victor's interaction with map) and hostage problem.
But in general, I still don't understand why are they hated that much. If we start same problem-list for any killer, it would be no less (some aspects less, but some bigger).
Maybe I don't have enough DbD experience, only 1600h, but I'd definetely choose to play Twins over Blight and Oni by far, for example.
-
Hopefuly never.
Don't know everyone's hatred about Twins. Just played them yesterday, very fun to me.
Victor's "Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" and "Ooooaaaaaaaaaaaah!" are priceless too.
By the way, if someone answer me, I would be grateful.
Ok, some complaints I heard and rather understand:
Skull Merchant - forever 3 gen.
Old Sadako - slugfest.
Artist/Knight - hold W (absolutely pointless complaint because it's basically for every killer, unless you Ayrin/JRM)
Pyramid/Nemi/Wraith/Trickster - tunnel-tunnel-tunnel
For a certain extent: Bubba (because almost no one plays like "play" him and he's just an airvent for miserable dunces)
But what Twins did wrong?

Still sounds like a rant but ok.
The chat censorship in DBD is a bit weird indeed but it is there for a reason. They could definitely have a look at it and see, if they can't improve it because sometimes even words like "Haddonfield" get censored. But I see no reason to remove it completely.
There is a difference between making a game a "kindergarten" (your words, not mine) and trying to do something about toxicity. You have probably seen how mad some people can get after a game. It's definitely a good thing that BHVR don't just allow everyone to say whatever they like in end game chat. In my opinion this should even lead to harsh penalties, if it happens regularly. Although I am not exactly sure how they handle this right now.
It seems you let it get to you a bit more than you'd like to admit. I completely understand that because deep inside you know it shouldn't bother you but somehow it still does. I've been there too and it still happens every once in a while. An important thing to remember is that these are all just people. They might say rude things but at the end of the day they have no idea, who you are and wouldn't say something like that in person. They say it because they are upset and this is a way for them to blow off some steam. Misery truly loves company. And if you are miserable yourself than you should still take a break and see how you feel a few days later. You'll feel a lot better and your games will be more enjoyable.
I really don't understand why are you trying so hard to put misery on me, but ok. I just raised the topic. I don't know this Elodie, I saw her first and, probably, last time in my life. It's just I had time to finally press "record" button.
Personally, I don't understand why chat couldn't be open in game for grown ups. More of that, I know 100 and 1 way to outmaneuver chat-censor and say very nasty things (if I wanted ever), tested it with friends. But in the end only decent people suffer. It's like ban all kitchen knives because some drunkard stabbed his wife somewhere. Drunkards will stab wifes with screwdrivers or broken bottles, but normal people will have hard time to cook.
And yes, objectively, I'm also up for making game more sportsmanship and competitive, rather than venting area for miserable simpletons. If we stick with kindergarden, one way is just file a report with attached "video-fixation". Another way: exit game without losing bloodpoints (let idiots nod to bots all they like and not waste people time).
But, on the other hand, I'd remove all restraints both in game and on forums. Again, it's a game for groun-ups (officially), right?
-
@Xernoton said:
"OMG. Playing survivor is so horrible because killers are terrible people."
I'm gonna give you the same advice I give to killer players that are this frustrated with the game. Take a break. Go outside, enjoy some fresh air and touch some grass (literally). It will help you tremendously. Then come back in a few days (if you like) and see how you feel.
This is only a game. And if you can't enjoy the game, then it is the healthiest option to take a break.
You are completely missing the point.
Either 18+ game should stop being a kindergarden, or be a proper kindergarden (where strict counselor reprimand kid that misbehave). But not something in between.
I couldn't care less about this idiot, some miserable kids literally in every second game lately, it's just when I was playing as killer and we have aftermatch chat (very friendly one), and I had to squeeze through mad censor algorithm for no reason, because what if some kid could see some word and get hurt. Here we can see Elodie that did absolutely nothing wrong (opened a gate), and thats ok.

What hypocrisy? Having a clip of a killer being toxic doesn't mean killer complaints about game balance aren't valid.
This is just a clip. For all we know this Elodie t-bagged him at every pallet and window and he's just giving back the same energy.
Nope, she didn't.
Hypocrisy is censorship in EGC, when you have to somersault to talk to people, because it's all "######" randomly to protect some very innocent player from accidentally seeing a bad word.
Steam forum bans for unknown reason (and no explanation).
Removal of cosmetics because someone suddenly find it offencive.
But here we have undoubtfuly harassing of player (and if needed, I can record dozens of such videos), and it's ok, it's fun.
There is saying "You either take off your christian cross, or put on panties".

@Xendritch said:

@Seraphor said:
Why is your screen so stretched?
21:9, for some reason HandShake removed black bars and stretched the video
-
Because you can't emotionally damage and harass bots, I think that's the main reason.
What I think devs should 100% do is to NOT SHOW TO KILLER that there are BOTS, only in result screen. Only survivors should see that.
Normal killers will go easy on survivors anyway if they struggle too much, out of sport, but ones with some "griefs" and "resentments" will only target human survivors with twice effort.
-
OMG! What did they do? Survive and escape?! Outrageous!
Looks like another killer-player got used to easy effortless wins, skyrocketed his MMR and now meeting decent teams. And, of course, it's everyone else's fault, definetely not skill, temper and entitlement.
I think it would be wise to further nerf SoloQ (and Pig, why not).
-
Unless you're doing some crazy experiment for YT content, it would be insane to grind it.
This thing will help:
There is a pack with killers/survivors, plus old DLCs are being selled for almost nothing, if not on steam, but on online shops. So the only financial impact could be only latest DLCs.
-
My only rejection about Alien is that it's hackneyed and stale. It's EVERYWHERE! Even in Mortal Combat. Worse variant would be only Predator.
Still, it's a very iconic character and suits DbD well. I hope they add something with wall traversing and stealth, would be super fun!
But if devs throw in a map in 70-s Hans Giger style, then I'm all wet!!!
P.S. I already know what mori will look like 😁
-
I agree, perk is OP, need nerf. Bubba players are not supposed to do such complicated things like looking at the HUD or just paying attention. Bubba players are supposed to go "Vrrrroooom!" and then stand under the hook for 3 stages. Rinse, repeat. Everything that steps out of this simple algorithm throws them off, seen it million times.
-
Very strict Jack, because I don't know beforehand what my teammates will be, plus there are very limited options as survivor (unless you want to end up game very early)
It's:
- Kindred (info, must have and irreplacable)
- Sprintburst/Lithe (chase, to prolong as much as possible)
- Inner Healing (to have healing backup, replaced former CoH)
- Distortion (to survive/trick/ambush + info)
Unless I want to fool around and throw the game, these four perks cannot be replaced.
-
You mentioned it absolutely correct: condemn napalm for weak teams and terrible against strong, that are good at chase, and she has no chase power.
What about:
Nerf - 0.5 condemn, no objection
Buff - some chase power:
- walking through pallets/windows while demanifested OR
- manifesting wraith short speed boost OR
- quicker manifestation without speed penalty OR
- enhanced "Wallpaper" (like 2-3 seconds with very long flickering intervals).
-

I think it's more surprising what Killers are near the top. Clown, Onryo, Pig? Very surprising.
I think "weak" killers are just very nische and some very very dedicated people find way how to utilize their power to the maximum. Vivid example: OnePumpWillie.
For clown one guy (Arinad) even wrote huge guide. Best perk: Zaichin Tactics, who would have thought.
It's just Blight/Nurse like, learn how to drive and you are top-tier speedracer. Others requre meticulous research.
-
Favorite: definetely flashlight. That means they won't touch gens, or at least very little. If I need to win, I'd wish for bully squad.
Least favorite: that's kinda hard. Medkit means that they will spend time on healing, toolboxes could bring some problems, but in spite of common delusion, dedicated gen-rush squad are VERY rare. Probably when survivors bring no items, then it could be anything: Inner Healing, attention to gens, careful gameplay, blastmines, lot's of things.
-

I love that tunneler demagogy. Flaw in this statement: killer is not playing efficient when tunnel, he just prey on weakier teams. And when getting matched with better teams, start to cry "What the hell! I was chasing 1 guy and all gens popped!" Yes, darling, they are. Because if you would do what mentioned in point 1, you wouldnt waste your learing time with cheap "noob-nuke" tactic in point 2.
Tunnelers and campers are basically cheaters if on low MMR there were no security and on higher MMR all survivors are stuffed with AntiCheat protections. "Oh my god! Where are my easy wins?! What happened?!"

Everything not against the rules is a valid strategy and that is a fact. If it's not valid to you then don't do it but you can't tell others how to play the game.
You have that toxic vibe so if killers don't play "nice" to you then you probably deserve it. I don't have your problems because I respect other players when I play.
Although I could get a cringe shock, I find it fancy quickly taking "toxic-vibes" card, escpecially when attacking and accusing of lies, which is very serious accusation indeed. Thank god it's internet and everyone can not answer for their words.
Won't bother to answer to "valid strategy" or, again, accusations how to play the game and zero possession of information how I play or what people think of my gameplay in EGC, just a demonstration to people who pass by what "defenders" of tunnelers/campers are about.
-
30 seconds chase are indeed too long, unless you're chasing multiple survivors.
Maybe you should play survivor for a change? You know, just to relax. You'll be surprised 😁
-
Super great that they gave her at least something in chase for now, but I'm really concerned about teleports and tapes.
- So with tape I can get 2 condemn MAX, but at the same time I can be protected from teleport condemnation. And if condemnation getting close - just grab and drop the tape in the nearest TV on the way from one gen to another.
- All survivors grabs the tape. Still atrocious 70 seconds cooldown + 15 seconds cooldown + most TV's are off (tapeless=useless), basically no teleport power.
I see that my common action of sweeping the map (when I teleported few times in a row) and finding survivors now completely removed. That's very scary! Valuable information (appearance/flashing of glowing ring on portrait) is no more available 😖
We will see. At least it's a start, and devs finally hear community (I literally never saw that large amount of pleas to buff Sadie). Maybe they tweak her a little more.
Again, personally, I wouldn't bother so much, I'd just simply added:
- iri tape baskit
- drawing basekit (with healing progress condemnation, no healing finishishing, to avoid slugging)
- news paper basekit
- + what they did already with ghost form (I think going through windows would be appropriate too)
We'll see, we'll see.
-
I'm sorry, I'm sort of boomer, not "woke" or any of this stuff.
I think who ######### who and in which positions should be left in the bedroom. It's a personal matter of people.
I agree that legal rights should be provided for everyone, but on jurisdicional level. No "quotas", "marches" or similar .
So, please, let the characters alone, ffs.
(interesting how quickly I'm gonna be banned for controversial opinion)

I played against many non tunneling Nemesis and Pyramids, so your 100% is a lie. It could be 1% even if you only see tunneling you are only 1 person.
Well, couldn't care less, it's 100% to me, and that's what matter to me. Same as it could be 100% in general because you're one of those who calls focusing 1 survivor only completely ignoring everyone and everything else a "valid strategy".

Yep, but as you mentioned, it's around 3/4 of matches. But Nemesis and Pyramid are 100% will tunnel. Trickster also will tunnel 3/4 and 1/4 will camp.

Me using Killer to farm BP at 3 times the speed of my Survivor matches since 6.1.0, running around with jolt + whatever random perk my killer has available at the time, only to open the forums and read this nonsense.
My guy, if anything, I agree killer isn't fun because survivors just drop dead seconds after you find them. I can count with the fingers of both my hands the times I got obliterated by survivors, and two of these times were my fault because I gave kindness to those who didn't deserve it. And I play with the most suboptimal stuff you can imagine because I can't be bothered to stress over unlocking killer stuff.
Go play a couple of matches of survivor soloq and come back to tell me if you've figured out the true meaning of despair.
Kinda feel you here. Going perkless killers because I can and it's funnier, while as survivor I have 4 strict perk that I can't remove any of them so match won't end in first minutes (usually, if some "trouble-in-finding-fun-killer" decides to camp/tunnel as usual, then build doesn't matter).
But I should make that point of "survivor is minefield" is completely true, and it's terribly frustrating, I literally start to feel pain when I start to go as survivor.
As a killer? If it's chore, you make it chore. Game is totally "killer-centric" (I'm not saying killer-sidied, although I feel that way), killer sets the pace, the progress and how things going on. It's chore? Well, it is if you make it chore.
I wish I could see personal statistic (how many matches I played, with who, etc), but in thousands of matches as a killer, I can't remember a loosing time when I felt "oh, it's not because of me, it's the game too unfair". Either it either I was sloppy, or unskilled, or didn't pay attention.
