So that both players can play it and outplay the other side?
I mean, if you dont want unsafe Loops to be fair, you should be ok with God Loops as well.
A loop should never be fair. Survivors should always be the underdog in every scenario and aspect of the game.
A "fair loop" where Survivor and Killer have an equal mind game chance still isn't "fair" because the Survivor is buying time for THREE other people.
-
If medkits are ruining your game it's because you let the injured guy go.

At "no-mindgame Loops" Bloodlust has no purpose anyway. Once all of those which consist of a strong Window are reworked, there are only strong Loops with Pallets, which become weak when the Pallet is broken. This would remove Bloodlust anyway.
The bigger problem are unsafe Loops, Killers simply have to press w despite being outplayed by the Survivor. Unsafe Loops are fair for both sides, but become unfair once Bloodlust kicks in.
Why should a loop ever be "fair"?

Survivors: Constantly mock and belittle the killer. Tells killer to uninstall
Killer: Uninstalls
Survivors: Where did all the killers go?
:D
Yup. I got 7 friends to play. Two uninstalled after Survivor bullying and two more will play but won't play Killer again.
This is the part where the same people that want faster queue times are supposed to mention turning off end game chat and getting a thicker skin instead of acknowledging that dirtbag Survivor mains are pushing players away.
-
Honestly, it's the way they are treated. I had two friends that I wanted to try this game out, and after a few experiences of being treated like garbage by survivors in the endgame chat they walked away from the game.
"Trash killer. Uninstall."
Well, guess what?
They did.

M means mature for mature (adult) audiences but also those mature audiences should be mature... You know?
Mature in this context meaning "not appropriate for children". Not mature as in "respectful to everyone".

Okay, just a hold up here. How hard is it to be nice to others? As someone who plays both sides, I can say I've just seen the mot childish attitudes. This game is rated M. If you want to play a childish game, Spyro and Kingdom Hearts are always available (I love those games by the way, no hate). Survivors, there is no need to tbag me at the exit gate, flashlight click, or make it miserable. Killers, tunneling and camping make the game boring for everyone. It isn't cool. This is a game for adults, let's act like them.
Also, Deathslinger needs a skin where he's shirtless.
Rated M means adult, not polite.

Oh right
The chase mechanic, objective speaking, does further the objective. Sure their is a chance that a person can run the killer for a long time and not get gens done but what about the cases in which it does get the objectives done. As I said before just because a strategy does not work all the time that doesn't mean it's not a strategy.
It means it is not the same as tunneling. Killing a tunneled Survivor is the literal Killer objective. A 360 does not grant gen progress.
-
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1968121#Comment_1968121
That isn't the definition of tunneling. The definition of tunneling is absentmindedly chasing a single survivor. You tunnel vision onto the single survivor preventing you from thinking or seeing correctly, thus the term tunneling.
Going for a weaker survivor when it makes sense isn't tunneling.
I think the term for what he means is "tunnelling off the hook". But I don't see what the issue is with going after the obviously injured Survivor. What incentive do I have to go after the fully healthy person except the Survivor's Rulebook For Killers™ says I should?
-
@dspaceman20 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1968240#Comment_1968240
But why aren't they the same? Why aren't both strategies?
I literally already explained this.
-
What is the point of disconnecting over just suiciding on hook?
-
@dspaceman20 said:
Ok I'm probably going to get backlash for this but since 360s are the new topic I feel I should express my opinions on it.
I think 360s and tunneling are the same due to the fact that they are both strategies the player can use to try and win. Both have counters to it to try and handle them. It's no different from any other strategy the survivor or killer has to win.
If you disagree and believe they are not the same please explain why?
It is not even close to the same.
There is no counter that tracks how many 360s to victory you are.
A tunneled Survivor advances the Killer's objective directly to remove all 4 Survivors from the game.
A 360 is just a chase mechanic and does not further your Objective at all. No amount of 360s will win you the game. Only generator completions.
"but sNoW, dIsTrActInG tHE kIlLeR hElPs gEt gEns DoNe!!!11!"
Not necessarily. Everyone has horror stories of "that time I ran the killer for 5 minutes and no gens got done". It doesn't assure anything. Tunneling someone out of the game however is a direct 25% advancement of the Killer's win condition.

I don't think that I'm owed more game time. I just want to enjoy the game as much as the killer is. But whatever, you probably sit your ass on killer all do if we're gonna be frank.
I play 80% Survivor and 20% Killer.
Sorry, Frank.
I just know that when I AM playing Killer, my mind is going "I need to kick this generator, then break that wall, then down that Jake before he unhooks Cheryl, NOPE here comes Kate with a flashlight, look left LOOK LEFT, now hit her, avoid the protection hit from David, oh CRAP Jake got the unhook anyway so screw this I'm re-downing Cheryl".
My Survivor gameplay mindspeak is more "Spine Chill is going off... a few more seconds. Okay, let go. Back behind the rock.... it's a Demo this game. Okay. He kicked the gen. And off he goes. Okay, back on my generator!"
SEE THE DIFFERENCE?!

Yes tell me the counter play to where I ran a deathslinger around for 5 gens, literally start of the match I get chased in the first 10 seconds, run him the entire time without even getting a single hit. 5th gen pops and I get downed from his 4% speed boost one shotted. What’s my counter play to that?
Why are you spending THAT much time with the Killer? Good God, you are playing with fire and deserved to be downed.
-
@Kellie said:

Or people want to enjoy the match too and don't want to sit still for a minute, just to have the killer wait behind them and hook them again. People like you throw the word 'entitled' around so much it lost it's meaning.
If you think for two seconds that you are "owed" more game time by the Killer then you are very much entitled in every sense of the word.
The Killer owes you nothing, and it is in his or her best interest to take you out immediately. He is under zero obligation to let you go and in fact has a very good reason NOT to.
-
It's because Survivor mains are entitled to think they should get a full 8 hook game where they get lots of gens done and escape.
It completely r/woooosh's over their head that the Killer's job is to take you out of the game ASAP. It is not his job to provide you with a fun and entertaining game. He's your KILLER, not the host of a party.
-
Survivors: "NOED is a bad perk because it rewards the killer for not doing their objective. You need to start doing your objective to get rewarded by a perk!"
Killer: **Runs Barbecue & Chili**
Survivors: "NO NOT LIKE THAT."
-
I say yes, but I never pay it forward. I respond to the same Survivor that BM'd me.

Pop is 25% very little if players do gens
Blood echo is pointless
Blood warden people 99 gates so pointless and it's a one time use
Dead man's doesn't allow for gen regression, actually stops ruin and pop from being used plus its obsession hook only
Devour and lullaby are nice but hexs which can be spawned on at game start or right next to gens
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1962105#Comment_1962105
It does but it's also a hex, I personally love the speed boost from it at 2 tokens but I dont care about the rest and hexs are lost way to easy
So what I am getting from this thread is that there are plenty of perks that do what you are asking for, it's just that none of them are good enough for you.

Who gets to decide what is toxic?
To me using flashlights is toxic, but they're a part of the game.

bullying as a killer never feels as satisfying as bullying as a survivor, because when you take out swf out of the equation you just end up feeling like an ass at the end. as a survivor bullying feels good because the killer is supposed to be the power role and when you have 16 second chance perks between all of you and the power of coms, you really feel powerful when you bully a killer.
This really shouldn't be a thing.

Although slugging isn't bannable, I'd still be careful. A 4 man bleed out when you can easily hook people could be considered holding the game hostage.
It's not because the Survivors will die from blood loss. It's kinda the point.

It's not that specific ritual. It's just one that I mentioned. It's that it's a Killer one. I just think it's stupid that it tries to convince me to play the Killer side. Killer is so boring in my opinion.
So just swipe every killer ritual. You only lose out on bloodpoints if you somehow get four in a row, and these forums are constantly boasting about how they get 30K blood per Survivor match, effectively making a single ritual barely one match's worth of bloodpoints.

I just really hate playing Killer. I don't find it to be anywhere near as fun as Survivor. I shouldn't be coersed into playing what I consider a lesser side.
Then don't. It's as simple as that. The daily is optional.

It's not about being able to complete them, except for the Nurse one because I just suck with her. It's the fact that I have literally not gotten a Survivor daily ritual in almost a week. I know you don't have to do them, but I like being able to get the few thousand points for doing something like unhooking three people. I don't want to go in and play the Clown and try to hit 3 intoxicated Survivors.
I don't understand why people balk at "Hit 3 intoxicated Survivors", a daily I can do in literally 5 minutes or less and get it even if every single Survivor escapes, but clap their hands like a seal over a daily like "Escape with Bill" when it might take you four matches to get a single escape out of him.

No, the system is nothing close to ‘fine’. This is the blind undying support I mentioned in my first sentence LOL.
*Logs in*
*Chase the Survivors for a total of 180 seconds with (Insert Killer you never use and have no desire to use either because it’s level 1 or you just don’t feel like being forced to play it)
*Removes ritual*
*Hit 4 Survivors with the ability of the Killer you just confirmed that you don’t want to play as. Oh and this time you have to wait 24 hours before you delete this one*
Sounds almost like an outdated RNG daily-hub that pigeonholes you into playing either a Survivor/Killer you have no desire to play as just to collect a cheap 30k bonus that you should be able to get by choosing a specific role in the first place. Mind you this 30k you may or may not get easily depending on what the RNG gods decide is chump change considering you have to pay 4-6k per item for more tacky RNG nodes on the same strand as your desired item that you may not have to level up 20 times just to find. It’s all outdated, and the Daily Rituals are icing on top of that cake. I love this game I just tell the blunt truth
It's not blind, undying support when I literally just criticized the grind costs.
You don't have to do the rituals. And you can store up to three, cycling every day. Whether or not you do them is entirely up to how picky you are. There are archive challenges that mandate specific characters as well. Yet no one ever seems to complain about those.
I have never, EVER managed to get my daily rituals all the way to three and not had ANY that I felt like I could knock out in a single match.

I play Killer & Survivor 50/50, i'm rank 1 in both and have been for quite some time so i'd like to think I have an unbiased opinion when it comes to nerfs and i'll be the first to agree that Undying/Pop didn't need to be nerfed.
But with that said, how much is too much? It seems like every single patch I see countless posts begging for survivor nerfs.. and then when you finally get what you want, you immediately start asking for another nerf?
In most recent events.. Infinites got nerfed? wasn't enough. Toolboxes + all Addons got nerfed? wasn't enough. Gen speeds got nerfed? wasn't enough. Hook saboing got nerfed? wasn't enough. More maps got reworked? wasn't enough. Keys are being reworked? wasn't enough. Decisive just got nerfed and Object has been confirmed for a nerf at a later date? Still not enough..
Now I see people demanding a Dead Hard nerf when anyone who uses it knows you end up dead on the ground 7/10 times.
I mean hell.. Just last week I saw someone asking for a Spine Chill nerf because it wasn't fair to stealth killers.
Will you truly ever be satisfied? or is it human nature to just constantly want more and more after you get your way once?
I don't buy that 7/10 Dead Hard doesn't work thing. If Dead Hard was that horrible I wouldn't see it CONSTANTLY when I play Killers.

Adrenaline rewards a survivor for completing their objectives.
NOED rewards a killer for failing their objectives that's how they're different and that's why people complain so much about NOED since it rewards a killer for basically losing up until that point.
That is not how it works. This is a garbage myth perpetuated on these forums.
The Killer did not fail his objective. His objective is to kill. As long as the Survivor is still in the match, he has not failed. He's only failed if they escape.
There are many perks that do not go off until the endgame collapse. It is another phase of the game. It is not "that period of time where the Killer has lost".
I have had many 4Ks that took place during the endgame collapse, none of which used NOED. By this stupid logic, I "failed" the game.
No, that's not how it works. That's not how any of this works.
-
My question for you is... why do you hate new players and why do you want to chase them away?
-
@ukenicky said:

This is what a lot of people already do unless they know exactly where the lit totem for NOED is.
One kill is better than none but killers shouldn't be relying on NOED to help them secure many downs anyhow.
Why not?
Killers and Survivors "rely" on their perks all the time to achieve effect X or Y.
Why should NOED be any different than a Survivor that "relies" on Adrenaline to escape endgame or "relies" on Dead Hard to avoid dying to a downing hit?
-
This same thing happened to me with Huntress and Ruin.
I have like 5 Killers all under level 20 that at least have Yellow quality Ruin. But Huntress? About 2 MILLION bloodpoints beyond level 50 to get Ruin on her. Ugh.

My idea has always been to remove the Exposed status effect and instead give the Killer the ability to mori survivors regardless of their hook states.
They'd still keep the speed boost as well just no instant down. Personally I think it fits the idea of "No one escapes death" much better and allows the perk to retain a level of respect and power.
Imagine going all match without being hooked and then getting mori'd at the end due to NOED lol kinda like a Rancor sort of thing but yeah. I just like the idea of baking moris into perks now since the mori offerings are hot garbage and this would make NOED feel better for Survivors because they can't be OHKOd by it but good for Killers because they can mori anyone they want with no hook pre requisites
This would have the exact opposite effect.
"No One Escapes Death" - except the other 3 Survivors because they all hit the door and bailed out while you were stunned throughout the entire Mori animation gratuitously killing their ONE friend.

They should implement that if you delete a Daily you get one from the other side automatically. (And especially not with the same Character. Like, if I dont want to chase people with Freddy, the next Ritual I get should not be to get two Sacrifices with him, lol.)
I'd rather swipe a Killer I don't want into a Killer I do want.
I'd much, MUCH rather get "Get 4 Hatchet hits in with Huntress" rather than "As the Demogorgon, slay 1 Survivor by your hand."

Or they can....you know....get rid of an outdated RNG daily system that nobody seems to like except diehard fans that think there’s never anything wrong
For context, I play both Survivor/Killer, I have multiple prestiged characters on both sides and I still have to say It’s not a good system. It would definitely be on my list of feedback if given a survey or if I got asked for the reasons why I’m taking breaks from playing more often. If players only want to play one side whether it’s killer OR survivor then they shouldn’t miss out on one of the only sources of the main currency in the game or alientated for that decision. What makes it worse is that the rift pass is currently an unnecessary micro-transaction that will give you little points outside of poor quality reskins/other cosmetics that you forget about quickly, so you’d think one out of the two only outlets of bloodpoints wouldn’t be as inconvenient as it is. I’m not complaining for myself more than I’m empathizing with those affected by the Ritual RNG
**BUT**
For the sake of this topic let’s be honest... the Bloodweb system is severely outdated and way too grindy/RNG which already adds to the long list of valid stuff that pushes players away, and if you’re a real fan of this game you wouldn’t support a feature that further alienates **any ** of the remaining players. If a casual survivor only has one to two hours of playtime in a given day but they exclusively play Survivor, do you really expect that they randomly stop doing what they’ve always preferred and what they purchased the game for to go ‘Hit 4 Survivors after uncloaking with the Wraith’ just to get a lowly 30k points ? That’s delusional, and any real fan of the community or player with 1000+ hours here knows it’s a bad system but will probably still have fun with what we have anyway because we still love it.
Nah, I still say you should play both sides. The system is fine.
You'd get much more mileage defeating the grind by reducing bloodweb costs. Reduce the price of every item in the bloodweb by 2000 bloodpoints and a huge relief for the players not sitting at 3K hours with every character at P3.
-
Play both sides and you won't have an issue with daily rituals sitting there and rotting.
-
Where the hell do you FIND these people?!
I am up to 265 hours into this game and I never once been called a slur. Not once. NOT EVER.
I've gotten a lot of "trash killer" and so forth, but never any kind if slur - racist, homophobic, or otherwise.

I really wish you got a notification. This game could use some positivity. I'd leave glowing comments for every Killer that ever gave me the hatch.
