    Cause you'll just be face camped anyways and then die. I'd be ok with giving them points equal to the struggle, but it'd just be boring to have to sit and wait for your death to move onto the next round.

    Generally it's true, but if the killer hits the unhooking survivor before the player has control over their character, the attack is void and the survivor, maybe with Adrenaline, can run away. Rare, but not impossible.

  • Yeah, water, snow, even lava or underground nets of galleries!
  • @not_Queen Do you agree with this No Mither change, to make it secret, so usable?
  • Without rewards, what's the meaning of Devotion?
  • If suddenly appeared alluring rewards for playing as a survivor, players would be encouraged to comply.
  • @Whispers23 Gifts would be items, in my opinion, maybe new items, but also BPs are good. Do you agree with the idea of adding Shrines as secondary, but not irrelevant, objectives?
  • What a brilliant idea!

    I suggest that there are seven shrines, so, if a survivor worships:
    1) only one shrine, they are simply free from the handicap;
    2) two shrines, they are granted special, consistent gifts or rewards in BP;
    3) three shrines, a big handicap is inflicted to the killer.

    It will create a conflict: every survivor will desire to worship the second shrine to get gifts and rewards, but, doing so, it will be more difficult for a survivor to worship the third in order to reduce the killer's abilities.

    Every survivor will have appropriate notifications and count in their HUD, while the killer will see the shrines' Auras.

    Balance changes and rules:
    1) worship interaction will be very fast, i.e. 15 seconds (if 60 seconds were required, the game would become as difficult as with 10 gens to repair, almost impossible for survivors, given they are also handicapped);
    2) maps will become greater, to compensate survivors' more activities and to avoid a big concentration of shrines and gens;
    3) the killer will not be able to damage shrines and worshipping interaction can be interrupted and resumed, without losing any progress;
    4) a shrine touched by a survivor cannot be worshipped by the others, but a survivor cannot worship a new shrine before ending the previous one;
    5) who escapes handicapped will earn a big reward (and a trophy).
  • Yeah, it could be reworked, for example revealing if someone repairs a gen before 30/45/60 seconds have elapsed from its damaging.

    It would be illegal, too.

    Game developers can ban at their discretion for any reason they see fit. Players don't own the game, only the ability to play it on their terms. Player agrees to those terms in the form of a TOS, which can be changed at any point and time. Hell, they could amend "anyone who doesn't spend X $$ per month cannot play (also known as a "subscription")" and it's 100% legal, as proven by any subscription based game.

    EDIT: And before anyone pipes up "there's a difference between being banned and restricted access for not paying a sub", reread my original post that clearly states "restricted to KYF", not a full ban from the game.

    When we bought the game there wasn't any of these clauses, and to apply retroactively a so severe penalty not for misconduct, but for insufficient cleverness should be challenged in courts by groups of angry players.

    Aside this, can you imagine what kind of boycott the Developers should suffer? They can write all the clauses they like, but without customers' money they are condemned to bankruptcy.
  • Forcing a player may convince them to abandon the game: what about incentives in bloodpoints or other rewards?
  • DbD is NOT an university examination: players cannot be banned because they are not clever enough. It would be illegal, too.
  • Killer's power could be Changeling and Calumny, i.e. changing its skin and creating a false terror radius around whoever it wants (oneself or innocent survivors).
  • My idea of Thing is a kind of direct emanation of the Entity: do you imagine how horrific and spectacular it would be if the hand of an innocent Jake, near to a gen, pretending to repair it, suddenly became an hideous claw to hit a mate approaching to help him? Heart attack!
  • If the Community agrees, we can ask the Devs to implement this guarantee of game fairness.

    You are underestimating the paranoia survivors should suffer: trust would be replaced by suspicion and cooperation destroyed, that is an easy victory for the killer.

    "Johnny is that you?"
    "No"

    SWF mode always helps survivors, what's the news?
    Tom (with Premonition): Johnny, the Wraith is 20 meters in front of you.
    Johnny (with other perks): Thanks. I'll change my way.
    Does it mean the Wraith's cloaking is useless?
  • I'd prefer a secondary objective than a more complex primary objective, and DbD should remain enough different from Friday 13th.

  • Pharmacy silences chests' searches.
  • It's a reasonable doubt, because of your strong opposition to the idea that survivors could have a perk to gain effectively more BP, and nothing else.

    I wrote my arguments, you your replies, that's it.

    Other comments by other players? :)
  • @Wolf74 I don't know any statistics: I wrote of my personal experience about hundreds of rank 2 trials on PS4.

    And what's the link between ending game stats and the need of WGLF's more effectiveness? You ignored my arguments about the main theme of this thread.
  • @CoolAKn Your proposal would require a more complex mechanics change: if devs agree, nothing in contrary. The other solution is a more simple remedy to a perk everybody knows you are using, which makes it useless.
  • @Wolf74 Sorry, in your opinion I would be wrong about what? Strawmen? Where? I'm not attacking you: you can be the best player ever, it's not a personal fight, I don't want it. And "Tu quoque" is a logical fallacy, too.

    You forgot to answer the central argument of my post: I'll rewrite it below.

    WGLF is a perk to gain more BP: it gives no heal, no enemy's detection, no high speed, no help in game, just bonus points after the end of the trial. It should be useful to the player, not the character in gameplay, so it's a poor perk: if even this simple target is purely hypothetical, then it's nonsense. Isn't that reasonable for you? Are you moved by rage against survivors? The fact many people play as killers to develop their survivors is an evidence something is wrong in gaining BP system.

    My proposal about WGLF buff is oriented to increase its effectiveness:
    1) healing a mate hurt or in dying state, unhooking or protecting others could all be stackable;
    OR
    2) every unhook or protection could give 37,5% BP bonus, within a maximum of 150% BP bonus.

    And - I add this now - my proposal should not make the survivors more powerful in game, just survivor's player experience better, more funny. Why do you fight against that purpose? Without satisfied survivors, the game is over for all. If a killer's perk, built to give them only more BP, were useless, I would agree with its buff: why should I ruin players' right to develop their killers within a reasonable time? It's a game, not a war: both parties deserve to have fun. Think about that.

    False. In a vast majority of trials, the killer sacrifices all survivors. And we are not talking about a more powerful survivor in game, but just not to force the player behind a survivor to wait months to develop their preferred characters.

    And you get that stats from … where exactly?
    Personal experience?
    May you are just bad and that why you see so many 4ks.
    Sorry, but your claim is pretty bold and not backed up by anything.

    Are III-50 at rank 2 and hundreds of trials enough for you? Remember that argumentum ad hominem is a logical fallacy: attacking your opponent, instead of their words, is simply wrong.

    WGLF is a perk to gain more BP: it gives no heal, no enemy's detection, no high speed, no help in game, just bonus points after the end of the trial. • @Fabijean @ToolboxMotley That's the solution: the survivor with No Mither shall begin the trial healthily, but, if wounded, cannot be healed and only survivors can see their state.

    Do you all agree?

    @Wolf74 Do you really think any of my proposals could ruin matchmaking, because an epidemic bloodlust would determine a big majority of players to act as survivors? I've not written: "You will earn 10,000 BP for every save"! O.o

    It's not about what I think, it's about what happend when WGLF was better.
    It already happend before and that was the reason WGLF got nerfed to it's current state.
    It's not "believing", it's just experience.

    Between black and white there is grey: 200% is excessive, 100% is not enough, so 150% may be proportionate and balanced. Or, alternatevely, devs could make this 100% effective and not simply hypothetical, by making healing other people stackable.

    I'm sincerely sorry for your awful experience, but lack of education and respect is not a devs' fault: people should remember that behind killers and survivors there are human beings, who deserve to have fun, not wars or humiliation. Of course everybody hates unsporting behaviours, but some guys think "I lose = opponent's unsporting behaviour, what a bastard, why don't they die with torments?": arrogant and frustrated people, take it easy, if you lose, try again, and enjoy: over all, it's a game!

    I get where you're coming from and you're right. But the devs can work on their game to prevent such behaviour or get rid of it completely.

    Unfortunately, no laws or game programming can get rid of idiots: they exist from the ancient times and will be forever. But you are a clever guy, so ignore them and enjoy the game: play as if really the Entity enslaved you as a killer, as if really your life were in great danger, and good luck for all!

  • I don't think they need to be equal. Killer has to hunt, chase, down and hook to get 1. Survivor has to wait until a teammate gets downed and go for the save. Granted the a save is dangerous, its no where close to the work of hooking.
    It's not equal: with BBQ, the killer gets extra points AND read the Auras; while WGLF grants only extra points to survivors.

    Have you read my proposals to change WGLF, to make it more effective?
  • Bad people. Play your game, don't care of their rudeness.
  • I'm confused. A killer can (shouldn't, but can) camp an hooked survivor, to prevent unhooking and condemn them to death; how could a survivor camp a killer without being put down, instead? O.o
  • It's not mature nor wise who complaints about opponents' perks: of course, they are intended to help who uses them, and everybody can choose the strategy they prefer.

    I understand that, during an event, it should be polite let the opponent get their cosmetics (it's the reason why I don't struggle when grabbed: I'm happy the player who controls the killer earns some serum); and I condemn who, because of their inferior skill, uses unsporting tricks to win, i.e. obstacles the normal game dynamics (killers camping; survivors teabagging when gates are opened, to humiliate the killer ecc.).
  • I saw hundreds killers exterminating a team and hundreds survivors escaping from the trial. Of course, some mechanics are raw (a simultaneous hit and stun with a pallet, for example), but the game IS playable.
  • No games can be perfect: community reports are an essential mean to fix their bugs and improve something new and better.

    @not_Queen During that wonderful event there will be very much grinding, and very much grinding means a lot of extra Iridescent Shards, so I ask: why don't you double o triple the content of the Shrine of Secrets until the end of the Hallowed Blight? It would be an incentive to try new combinations of strange perks, to play more!
    I humbly submit my proposal to you again.

    Have I written anything so horrible not to receive any answer? It seems a good and reasonable idea to me: event --> grinding --> more Iridescent Shards --> more purchasable perks.
  • Are PC players overpowered? A good defeat is better than void victories: you learn, you become more skilled, then you win. I don't like any ghetto amongst players.
  • During this event I play regularly, but, when I am grabbed, avoid struggling to let the killer hook me where they can get their serum: the killer is my enemy, the player behind the killer is my friend, even unknown.
  • I'm a console player and I love nightmares, otherwise I would not love DbD. XD
  • Requirements of something rarer than gold? Franklin may help you: even the best item can be lost...
  • Yeah, optimization is necessary for a funny cross play: every device shall have the same quality of gameplay.
  • "Mouse and keyboard" or "controller"? I don't care. XD

    Let's play all together: if my opponent is more skilful than me, I'm happy to learn.
  • I play on PS4. Devs should allow matchmaking among different devices, in my opinion.
  • In your idea, the player could buy, paying the price, or sacrifice to the Entity, getting a few BPs, an object in the Bloodweb?
  • In parties, a survivor killed or escaped can read killer's perks, add-ons and offerings and inform their mates, and it's not fair... The solution is not quite simple, because parties run on PS4 servers, not Behaviour's, but if some survivors entered the lobby in SWF mode, it's probable that they have a party, so they should be prevented to read the killer's equipment until the end of the trial.

    It's not necessary that other survivors, who have not used SWF mode, are subject to this restriction.
  • I'm sincerely sorry for your awful experience, but lack of education and respect is not a devs' fault: people should remember that behind killers and survivors there are human beings, who deserve to have fun, not wars or humiliation. • Ehi, guys, vials are not the world's centre: players' decisions are more diversified than you think, and I'm sure there will be enough survivors to make lobbies. I have never experienced long queues.
