Example: everyone (literally) compain about outdated factory that pollutes rivers and forests, and people suffocating from smog, but you are for keeping it because sometimes you may need a cheap plaster. And what means "to the Survivors". Aint you a survivor sometimes? Because that's very convenient to play only a fun role. But that is very selfish to think that 4 people should suffer because of one's entertainment. I think everyone could cope with losing some cheap cheesy tactics to the benefit of the game in general.

Be careful about that sorta thinking, just because it isnt a problem to you does not mean its fair to everyone.

It would be far more fair to remove cheap exploit so "everyone" wouldn't end up on high MMR where they don't belong (because they used an exploit) and get completely steamrolled by skilled survivors, what only give birth to more annoyance and anger.

In short, killers survived basekit BT, survivors survived nerfed DH, everyone could survive absence of facecamping (There would be crying from bad killers and the beginning, but when didn't that happen, right?), and it improve health of the game drastically.

Personally, playing a survivor is something like go naked through blackthorn thicket, everytime super frustrating and painful. You should try it for once to see other point of view. Playing killer is always fun, I get that. But we need other side too.

everyone (literally) complain about outdated factory that pollutes rivers and forests, and people suffocating from smog, but you are for keeping it because sometimes you may need a cheap plaster.

    Sure ill play a hypothetical.

Yeah, lets not disrupt our only supply of plaster. We need to make sure needs are taking care of before we destroy the only source of it. I also want to say idk how this smoking polluting factory came to be the only supply.

And what means "to the Survivors". Aint you a survivor sometimes? Because that's very convenient to play only a fun role. This game isnt a charity.

I'm sorry, are we comparing people complaining having a bad time in a video game to environmental pollution?

    Really?

Is that seriously how far we as a species have fallen?

Its called giving a hypothetical, its not a comparison. Its an examination of the following the logic of a person's mind.

We are just examining the idea.

I know there as been a bit of back and forth now but in an effort to condense my disagreement with you down. Excuse me if I'm not wording it 100%.

To me, it seems you are arguing that doing gens is not as worthy task as doing other actions in a trial and thus should award less points. This is the point I disagree on. I think doing gens is just as important (mind you, I'm not claiming it's more important).

it seems you are arguing that doing gens is not as worthy task as doing other actions in a trial and thus should award less points.

I'm not arguing for that, it seems that just is the way things are and I'm fine with how those things are given the concerns I raised before. We don't know for true what values bHVR had when they set it up. I can only give what I think bHVR believes in and defend my own concerns which has been blown off as illegitimate before.

  • I would rather bHVR change Insidious to have + 2 seconds of Undetectable time, like Lethal Pursuer. or something.

What you suggest would be better as basekit for Killers.

Fair enough. We just disagree on this subject. I'll leave it at that.

Fine with me. I would have liked to figure out where I was wrong about it tho. Thanks for the conversation.

So tell me. How do all 4 survivors escape (survive) without doing gens?

You don't survive anything by just fixing a generator and you DO get points for escaping too.

Survival has to include the Killer and I think this is why most points are given for such interactions.

But ofc you wont get the correct answer of this from me, only my thoughts. You should ask bHVR about this.

I don't get why the most passive play should reward you more than it does, it seems logical to me that it would not.

Let me get this straight beforehand: I'm genuinely interested in this and not trying to push my survivor/killer agenda or attack somebody. I literally don't understand. Because when I just ask questions or make suggestions, people start to get angry and go full toxic mode.

First of all, if we remove something situational and destroy this way a huge chunk of unhealthy gameplay that lead to frustration of so many people (survivors hate this for obvious reasons, killers drown in negativity and insults, etc etc). I think it is a fair trade.

For example, adding 5 seconds unhook protection basekit was also inconvinient (telling you as a Hag player), but we still living with it and managed to play still and no one died (figuratively speaking).

Second thing. In my whole experience I don't remember a single time when it could punish me. If someone running near hook, I'll chase him, I would chase someone anyway, in this scenario I don't even have to search for the next victim. And the hooked one is completely useless. I don't remember many times when my survivors in my killer-games proceed through hook stages (few times when they got one-two complete potato clueless survivors).

First of all, if we remove something situational and destroy this way a huge chunk of unhealthy gameplay that lead to frustration of so many people (survivors hate this for obvious reasons, killers drown in negativity and insults, etc etc). I think it is a fair trade.

I disagree here, I don't face camp and I don't like to have my situational situations go to the Survivors because someone else camps.

How is that a fair trade to me? It isnt.

In my whole experience I don't remember a single time when it could punish me.

Be careful about that sorta thinking, just because it isnt a problem to you does not mean its fair to everyone.

  • You have to read a lot of Suggestions regarding this topic to follow along.

But the jist is loads of suggestions in the past are bad cause they intersect with normal gameplay, so you cant do much and it just ends up getting in the Killers way. You might say you are okay with power prevention mini rules if they get in the way of someone Face Camping. But I dont cause I play Killer and sometimes when we play around a hooked survivor. I think that is fair, I believe the Killer should have control of their power to punish that kind of play.

We killer mains can buy a lot of really powerful things with blood points as well. Scoring is off in some categories for survivor. I see low bp earnings on the survivors I face all the time. I am directly responsible for that because I play killers that deny chase points like wraith for instance. I am also directly responsible for this when I play characters with gigantic terror radius's survivors tend to get way more BP. You are gravely mistaken.

The killer you face greatly effects the amount of bp survivors can potentially get and that isn't right. I say this as someone who doesn't really play survivor anymore at all because it isn't in a good spot.

Not really, idk about you but sometimes it seems the extra good addons only show up every 3 bloodwebs.

While when I play Survivor will get a med kit almost every bloodweb.

    Its not equal at all.

"Now idd like to know what makes you think "both role spending" is as high as to make my concerns invalid."

Because I think you're concerns are misplaced. If you think certain items need a rework, fine, discuss that. The way to do that isn't to say playing survivor should reward less BPs so it's more difficult to purchase said items.

As for "Passive play" the whole objective of survivor is to power enough gens to power the gates and open then escape (I know you know this). Sure, doing gens is the most boring part (for both roles) but why is it considered less than and worthy of less? Like I wrote, before you can distract the killer until the cows comes home but is no one is doing those gens it's for naught. So yes, to bring it back to the OP's argument I don't see why you deserve less BPs for doing that task.

Because I think you're concerns are misplaced.

No, it isn't misplaced when those systems are clearly related. if anything those systems needs a rework before Survivor blood points are raised.

I think its considered less worthy because it isn't really part of the game, the game is the interactions between Killer and Survivor.

Like being a Face Camper or Gen Jocky is pretty much not playing the game imo.

Could be a clue Survivors are called Survivors and not Gen Repair men? Obviously you need to Survive, not be a maintenance engineer.

  • We could also make Pallet Amounts dependent on MMR.

I think you could easily make a fair argument,

That a high mmr Survivor should be able to do with less pallets and a low mmr Survivor need more pallets.

I'm not talking crazy amounts here, But I have seen high MMR Survivors playing willy-nilly with pallets cause they have so many.

I think its a consideration bHVR needs to make soon.

  • I agree, but I also think that pallets need be more changeable part of the game. I think the game could benefit from a small pallet reduction and then the introduction of Offerings such as these:

Survivor Offerings: [Green rarity, Adds one Pallet to the Start of Trial.] (this stacks to 4)

Killer Offerings: [Purple rarity, Removes 2 Pallets at Start of Trial.] , [Ultra-rarity, Removes 4 Pallets at Start of Trial.]

Its time we get to play with that element of the game and help this game with having more engaging offerings.

I still don't understand what is wrong with 1 survivor run around hooked survivor. It's at least 2 don't do gens, it's like ideal scenario to me. I couldn't count how many strong teams fell apart doing this (only yesterday SWF with flashlights and Reassurance fell apart to Merchant on Cowshed for the very same reason)

cause it intersects with any system to prevent facecamping.

  • You wait for the Update this week. 😅

  • And how would you propose to nerf that without changing the game experience for us who play Bubba but dont facecamp?

The problem with most anti-face camp features that people on these forums keep cooking up is that if a Survivor decides to loop around a hooked Survivor. It all falls apart.

"You think everyone will just start leveling Killers with the extra bloodpoints? "

I do. I think a good percentage of the player base does invest in both roles. Either way, if you have an issue with certain items, fine argue that but limiting the amount of BPs earned is not the way to go about it.

if you have an issue with certain items, fine argue that but limiting the amount of BPs earned is not the way to go about it.

I think you misunderstand, Im not arguing for points not to get looked at. Except outside of non interaction with the Killer, it seems to promote a passive playstyle.

Now idd like to know what makes you think "both role spending" is as high as to make my concerns invalid.

The bro is just scared to face survs with stronger items/add-ons.

Leave alone your poor entitlement man, that's not a valid argument

Games with 4 BNP has nothing to do with being scared, its just very boring and non-engaging.

If you think that notion is entitlement, then we have a non argument.

  • Hubris is a weird perk, Once Survivors see it they predrop for the rest of the match.

  • Hopefully the Devs will take action to address the prevalence, impact and strength this perk has on the game.

Personally its fine on one person once, but ON 4Survivors 1 times each chase? nonononono get me out of here.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3375110#Comment_3375110

There's plenty of us who play both roles and spread our BPs out. Lately more often than not the BPs I gain on survivor go to my killers. So it's a flimsy argument to say I don't want survivor to have more BPs because they will use it on more items.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3374947#Comment_3374947

Someone doing all the gens is still doing the work. Yes, the survivors engaging the killer are doing work to prevent the survivor on gens being interrupted but on the same side if the gens aren't being done keeping the killer busy is a pointless task.

So it's a flimsy argument to say I don't want survivor to have more BPs because they will use it on more items.

More Bloodpoints is gonna mean more items, Item prevalence increased a lot when the bloodweb changes rolled in.

I don't see how your personal usage of bloodpoints invalidates the assumption that giving Survivors even more blood points will increase the problem further. You think everyone will just start leveling Killers with the extra bloodpoints? Hardly.

Okay, so let's nerf Killer BP gains because some Killers addons are too strong and you can buy them via BP.

I am asking you to stop making every thread into a meta discussion.

Its funny you say it isn't a discussion about meta and yet you just mentioned it and talked about it, gave an argument about it. Yet you seem to complain to me again and again that it isn't a discussion about meta. Its rather Hypocritical.

I'm am not even discussing them, I mentioned them as related issues. But you are making your best attempts of jumping on that trying to make me to think I'm going off topic when its clearly related. This game is ripe with intersecting systems and one change somewhere affects things elsewhere. Mentioning concerns about related systems isnt trying to change the topic, its valuable insight.

I have had zero issue with Dead Hard since I started playing DBD in 2019, so no it is not related.

Over-rated perk, that never even needed to be changed--it boggles my mind that a killer cannot wait 1 extra second to counter the perk. All Arguments made in favor of its oppressiveness are gross exaggerations and niche cases.

That is not my experience at all. Sometimes I try to wait out Dead Hard for 5 seconds and then they still get it off in time.

I don't think that is a niche or exaggerated annoyance.

  • @kingcarl2012 is right, don't feed the trolls.

There is a max amount of attention you should give and if Survivor wants to spend it whining when they should take it and make it constructive feedback and send it to bHVR. You can be generally open to suggestions, but don't get fooled by non arguments. Look and see, @Iron_Cutlass the Green Player does not address your query at all, It is all floppy passive aggressive behaviour from them.

When someone starts being passive aggressive, just type lmao and leave.

Sure. The rare Feedback Giver might be in Post Game Chat, but the Feedback Giver will be know by the quality of their feedback.

Don't let your good will get you into a scuffle in PostGameChat, live is too short for that.

  • Does Terminus not work better against Adrenaline?

  • Insta-down addons that a very easy to pull off has always been in poor taste in this game imo. Iridescent Head and Redhead's Pinkie Finger are really strong and the drawback isn't really making them fun. Iridescent addons should change the power in fun and interesting ways while giving a slight advantage.

These days those addons just means its gonna be, ONE OF THOSE GAMES.

  • Yeah, its pretty spooky.

  • Then what are the incentive to ever get in a chase? Surely this game should encourage interactions with the Killer?

  • @Pulsar said:

Pretty sure they're talking about SM.

Try not to de-rail threads by shifting them to discuss what you have issues with. Make your own post if you feel so strongly

Nope, its pretty much related. There are loads of unfun strategies and perks in this game. Its a point worth keeping in mind.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3375151#Comment_3375151

Thie is not a meta discussion.

This is about equalizing Survivor BP gains.

If you want to rage about the meta, feel free to go to the other numerous posts.

Nope, like I said. its a related topic. You can buy really powerful thing with blood points.

I am not raging, its clearly issues that affect each other.

  • Nope, its what OPs talking about "Least Engaging Gameplay Of All Time"

  • You should try a game vs 3 Dead Hard users.

Skull Merchant will be getting assistance soon this week.

But engagement level and fun is a very subjective value to judge, feels a lot like sidelining the actual problem for a subjective opinion.

  • Its a related topic for sure, You can easily buy meta with bloodpoints. And with more points the problem will become even worse.

If you’re seeing them so often how I’ll more points make it worse? Any survivor worth their salt has all the items they need to be sweaty

The healing meta is stupid but that’s why we nerf medkit not keep survivor points low to “reduce” the number of medkits

case then ill likely see them even more and used every game.

  • @Phasmamain said:

“Killers being different” is no excuse for certain killers just not giving chase points

There’s already too many items on both sides. It’s not an issue they can and will solve anymore so no harm done

So you’re saying being chased and dodging Victor isn’t engaging with the game then?

There are still chase points to be had, the idea you guys are trying to to put out there is false. Anyone can look avg. chase points vs that and see that people still leave with a substantial amount.

There’s already too many items on both sides. It’s not an issue they can and will solve anymore so no harm done

Wrong, loads of harm is being done.

The Healing Meta is crazy right now. Survivors don't need even more points for Medkits.

Generators are flying by I am seeing BNP very often and twice a game. Survivors don't need even more points for Toolboxes.

Survivors have enough for now and for a long time.

  • @Phasmamain said:

    Pyramid head invalidates unhook points

    Twins invalidate chase points

    Plague invalidates heal points

Why are you so against more points in general? Literally nothing bad can come from this

Come on now, not every down is gonna be a caging and Killers are allowed to be different too. That's what makes the game fun.

More points for no reason that isnt earned is bad cause it isnt earned by playing and engaging the game.

Plus if will give Survivors way way way more points to buy things on the bloodweb with. No thanks to that.

  • Have we even confirmed the IP leaks is due to Dead by Daylight???

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3374968#Comment_3374968

    That's....actually false.

The KILLER chooses to engage. I can't get chaser points if the Killer refuses to chase me.

However, this isn't about that. It's about survivor bp in general. You get little from gens, little in Survival and Chaser is entirely depedant on the Killer.

Completely wrong, you can get loads of chase by preventing the Killer in getting the other survivors.

  • @Deathstroke said:

They can't really buff killers much if tunneling remain as the best strat. It's even more common now so that might even keep kill rates high as before. The survivor effiency now mostly hurt killers who don't play optimally and play for fun.

Well we know Circle of Healing is on the table to this Summer Perk change. Dead Hard too I hope.

    What?

Who said anything about interacting with the Killer?

This is about Survivor bloodpoint gains and how they are not equivalent to Killer at ALL

This is about Survivor bloodpoint gains and how they are not equivalent to Killer at ALL

Indeed and people chose to not engage with the Killer, you get more points for engaging. Its a choice mate.

  • You get points for interacting with the Killer, if you get less chases then by what right should you have equal bps to someone who does all the work in the game?

  • No, Aura reading is already powerful enough, even tho its a gamble on if the Survivor uses them.

  • OP is out here saying tunneling has no consequences, but in reality there are anti.tunnel.perks, may layout, tons of pallets = time to finish gens. And OP is asking for me more consequences. How about NO.

  • Yes, Mandy please.

I really want a Dredge Icon.

Nah, but the patterns typically aren't wrong.

Eruption needed to be changed for sure, but not to how it is now. Just disable it with 1 gen left and make it block gens instead. Done. Two of the biggest complaints resolved.

That would not resolved the complaints mate.

  • next week, gotta read those updates more carefully.

  • Might be too powerful.

We could also let Smash Hit work with DS, I think that would be really nice.

Sure its a strong synergy, but Synergy that works against tunneling is okay in my book.

  • Yes, Ormond needs hooks on the upper floors it would be nice.

  • This would be a great perk for the chased to use.

But on basekit? no get out.

  • While I love Zombies, on paper a killer that switches sides works poorly, cause its its a dedicated SWF why would they assist the killer? What I think would be cooler would be a Killer that controls a Horde of Zombies, where zombies are directed and flow like water around structures and then return to the Horde. You can easily make your own Killer and they add legendary skins from RE, left4D etc into it.

Vampires are neat but you wont get a flying killer. that would require all maps to be reworked. very unlikely, Its a lovely idea tho. Personally idd enjoy a Vampire Killer, turning into a mist to get over pallets or using their magic power to seduce a survivor to make them slowly walk towards you(requiring another survivor to get up behind and hit the Killer)

The Werewolf idea is perfect, I hope you mean its affected by the moon? An Oni like Killer that does not collect blood, but gets power on a timer when the moon shows itself? I'd like that a lot, I hope We get this.

Also, bHVR needs to add the Thing.

  • Its a Christmas Skin, its available when its Christmas.

  • I would like that if they fixed the issues with it.

Which they probably have with the TEST.

  • @Tsulan said:

But why was the whole concept greenlighted?

Did no one think about how the community would react to a killer, whos only power is to 3 gen?

Cause bHVR play like normal people, not gamers.

My guess is they knew it could happen so when the feedback came in the course of action was clear.

The whole, "Sorry we cant release this chapter cause someone is an arse" I have only played SM once as 3 gen, didnt even bother with Knight. Its not the majority of players who are that scummy, even tho I camp and tunnel as I please. heh.

1 … 62 63 64 65 66 … 112
