None of those actively promote tunneling a survivor though. Yes a Huntress may be able to get a down from range, or a Trapper can try force a survivor to run into his trap, or a Nurse can not give a care in the world about the endurance status effect knowing she can catch up instantly, but if those killers see two injured Survivors in the distance after a recent unhook, none of their powers are actively promoting going for one of the survivors over the other. If it's close to the end of the game you might be inclined to take a kill where you can, while if it's early game it really depends on your morales in DBD and if you care about the other side having a fun game or not.

Wesker's power, as mentioned before, does promote going for the unhooked survivor given they're infected and the other injured survivor isn't, which is a plausible situation.

But if those killers see two injured Survivors in the distance after a recent unhook, none of their powers are actively promoting going for one of the survivors over the other.

That is not true, All Killers play by hook stages so they all can benefit from tunneling. Huntress can and will tunnel, and its not because of just hook stages. a hatchet to the back really helps with tunneling and Killing. They are all actively being promoted to tunnel.

You cant just say you are right on a technicality because Hook stages are not part of the Killer Power, every Killer plays with those. You have to make a better argument than that imo.

All Killers have powers that are designed to help them Kill Survivors.

Tunneling is a way to Kill Survivors by pressuring their hook stages early.

Any Killer that has a power that kills is going to be helped with tunneling with their Power.

Your idea that Wesker's Power somehow "Promotes" tunneling instead of like all Killers, a Killer Power which is useful for Killing & also useful for tunneling seems nothing more than being against Powers that help with Killing, when that Killing is used for tunneling.

If we took that idea seriously, recently unhooked Survivors should be immune to hatchets / traps and all sorts of things when tunneled. But you don't seem to want to do that because of a technicality?

Either way you slice this, I don't think I'm in for meddling with Killer Power on the pretence it promotes tunneling, when almost everything in the game on the Killer's side can be argued to be help tunneling, I mean promotes tunneling.

It could be fine if bHVR made Killers with a Power that could never help them with tunneling, but that would make that Power useless when tunneling was the right choice. So that might be a bad power.

Ok, my claim isn't that tunneling is illegal. They've done things to counter it (haste + enduring status effect after unhook) and there are perks to counter it such as Decisive Strike (which while doesn't do a great job at it, it still helps).

Still, it's undeniable that Weskers power promotes it. After your first hook, the only survivor that will have been infected majority of the time will be the hooked survivor. While this isn't always the case, when it is the case it makes tunneling the hooked survivor quite easily when they do get unhooked. This is due to the fact that if the Wesker player does decide to tunnel, the survivor will eventually be fully infected and will be much easier to catch.

No other killer really has this. Yes, it is often easier to go for the rescued survivor as they're already injured, but no killer actively promotes going for that survivor (other than wanting to get a survivor out early to make the rest of the game easier, which every killer has).

I'm under the belief he needs a nerf due to this, while also needing a buff to compensate it as this isn't a nerf because he's too strong, but rather a nerf cause he's frustrating to go against, something they did wrong when they nerfed Freddy without compensating him with buffs to try and promote a more fun playstyle.

While my changes might have been a bit much, @JustAShadow made a good suggestion of infection not passively going up after being unhooked until you take a Conspicuous Action. This limits his ability to tunnel while not nerfing his ability to chase other survivors, and on top of this he believes two of Weskers stronger uncommon Add Ons could be made base kit as a result (which would be nice but I would like more on top of that).

TL/DR: Tunneling is fine but his power promoting tunneling is problematic, therefore warrants a nerf while also receiving a buff as compensation.

No other killer really has this.

No other Killer has a Power that makes it easier to down an Survivor by tunneling them?

Bubba, Trapper, Hag, Nurse, Trickster, Huntress comes to mind real fast.

Sure their Power might not slow the Survivor by 20%, but their powers r equally or sometime better to tunnel with than full infection.

Huntress can eliminate you with a single hatchet at range, You wanna tell me how that cant be used to tunnel a Survivor easier too?

Take video conference, hit survivor as he's being unhooked (animation lock) and enjoy free 8% debuff = end of chase really quickly....

Cant many Killers end chase really quickly? If that is the logic, then all Killers are problematic.

Other than the fact that his power promotes tunneling but whatever you say.

Wesker's power promotes tunneling. Need I say more?

Yes, actually you do. When I ask for the base of the claim, and you just state the claim again to me. It makes your claim look very baseless. Many Killers tunnel in this game, what makes this merit a nerf then? last I heard tunneling was not illegal?

Oh my… you’re really going to compare blending in to a killer power? No, it’s not even close. Yes, survivors can be advantageous in choosing their skins but they aren’t guaranteed a map that will accommodate it. Furthermore, killers can see what survivors look like before the game starts and there are plenty of ways to help find them regardless such as aura reading, scratch marks, the fact that they’re hella loud, killer instinct, anything that makes them scream…. So yeah while changing cosmetics can be advantageous it’s not near comparable to how different killers are.

Im not comparing them two, im saying Dark clothing is also a problem. If Power is a reason to ban a character, then cosmetic color stealth is also a reason to ban. You and I may disagree on the severity, but it IS a problem. So if you want to opt out of that use, its only fair we also get to opt out of what use survivors get.

  • And have everybody leave trials based on a tiny number difference? bad idea.

  • This is like the 7th post I have seen on this subject.

And ill say it again, yes this is a good idea.

  • The Killer can also just do a little error and lose the game.

  • @DavidHypnos said:

Because all survivors are the same lol killers all have different powers

Some Survivors have skins that make them almost impossible to see in Dark places.

  • Why are the Killer not then able to ban some Survivors then too?

  • What if we could pick 3 Survivors to never face/less likely face?

    Goodbye, Nea, Kate and Mikaela.

  • Why are you waiting by hatch? Just leave when you see the hatch.

  • this would also mean, you could fool around all game and annoy the Killer and other survivors and still get 2mill free bps at end of month

  • If you buy two bags of flour but you only need one, Do you get the second bag refunded?

Perhaps if the Store is super duper nice to you, you need to go here and ask for it:

    https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=9329839132180

I dont think bHVR is legally required to do anything. But ask them anyway, its a shot in the dark.

  • How is Wesker tunneling more than any other Killer? Why does this merit a nerf on Wesker?

    Next up (KNIGHT REWORK)

The Knight can have 2 Modes like Doctor

even tho pre rework doctor had 1 mode.

The Knight would be able to create a patrol path like always.

    but heres the new Addition.

In Chase he would be able to lock onto a surviver and Press 2nd active ability button to Summon a Guard To Enter Chase 14 meters from the surviver and insta Plants the flag.

    nay!

    I unvote this feedback.

Huh. The only question that required three answers formatted like that was: "Which characters and realm represents best Dead by Daylight?" i answered Jake Park, the Huntress and the Red Forest.

I got that question too. But I expressed I play a lot of Killer and only killer mostly and I played the newest Killer too- so that's probably why they wanna hear me out. What did you express in that regard?

Its like when designing Cars, its a good idea to hear what people who drive cars think of driving cars and not bicycle riders?

Well, considering that I did say the game wasn't properly balanced in the survey, I'm dissapointed I didn't get those pages.

Its probably a combination of saying you are a high hour Killer player, playing mostly killer or something.

Here is what it looks like.

PS. the only correct answer is Rework Hillbilly/Twins.

  • @BarnesFlam said:

Oh, are we getting different surveys again? I don't remember anything about the balance of specific killers while doing mine.

I got this response shared via image on discord, expressing themselves as feeling pain over reading it. I too felt that. But I should have been more skeptical, this response is just an answer to the rude quip and its not a sorta final word on Made For This as the way it was shared and read -- this is the first response would have read by bHVR on Made For This feedback, but that isn't what this is.

But I only realized this after like 30min of feeling and reading like bHVR does not acknowledge the feedback we give here.

But you're not doing anything about the part people are complaining about...?

As for OP, I would rather not tie it into chase mechanic, but that could work I suppose. However it would feel really bad.

People complaining about something isn't the sole reason to change something, data and statistics speak for the results of the things bHVR adds into the game. As I don't have access to that, I can only suggest changes and I think the healing part is overkill.

Its one of the oldest Game developer lessons, if people are complaining about something, its not always the things they are talking about in the complaint that is the problem. However I do agree their complaints warrants investigations, but we know bHVR is already looking over it and reading feedback. My feedback so far is that I want to see the Perk as speed perk alone first.

  • I dislike Made for This as much as the next Killer, but you got to not gut the perk and make it useless for Survivors. or they wont consider it and then the Perk serves no purpose.

    I'd say instead,

    1. Removing the Healing Effect is good idea as its just adding sugar on top the sugarpile.
    2. Keep the 3% effect as is. As its still strong and its most appealing quality.
  • Passive stat bonuses would be easy but disappointing to me, I much rather the Survivors having their own lil Power to differentiate them. However chances are ever smaller for that, that bHVR would rework so much of their game for Survivors.

  • You know this forum is for feedback, not debate challenges.

To both of you, they wrote that trapper is meant to be a beginner killer. A killer with a simple power meant to be easy to pick up. They don't just want to turn Trapper into a complex killer. His killrate being fine means he doesn't need drastic changes, but they still are looking to give him a bit of love to make him feel better to play.

A couple of anniversaries ago we got a trapper QoL patch, included a full addon overhaul alongside Trapper getting a basekit +1 trap. It didn't break Trapper in anyway and overall just improved the experience for playing that killer. I doubt we'll see a full addon overhaul again for him, but things they could do are touch some of his least used addons to make them more appealing or messing with trap spawn logic so you don't need to walk to the otherside of the map to grab traps.

Trapper is just never going to compete with Nurse and that's fine.

Nobody is saying Trapper has to complete with Nurse. I am not ever am comp player.

However even so it Trapper was originally meant to be a first Killer, that still isn't an excuse for not addressing the many feedbacks about the Killer. The Trapper was called weak before that last QoL update, clearly the problem was that update was not enough.

I guess we will see what "an small update" will do for him, but there are other killers out there still which is very rarely played or seen.

This is what my post is about, being balanced isnt enough, they should also feel great to play.

To make the distinction between a big overhaul and a more restrained number-tweaking. I imagine addon changes and a few number changes are in the cards- things like setting speed, maybe if we're lucky some trap spawn logic changes.

trap spawn logic changes, would be SWEEET.

  • @jesterkind said:

Not that I'm against your idea, but I'm not sure how the Reddit AMA screenshot supports that argument? If anything, that proves they are paying attention to basic maintenance and gameplay feel, since Trapper's getting an update despite being fine in the stats.

The image is not meant to support the argument, it just highlighted the issue for me. That issue being, People are asking for change but since balance is fine, they feel things could be kept the way they are or whatever the small update is. Not the best solution imo.

Well better make sure its here buddy, cause it sounds very powerful https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/categories/bugs

  • This would just encourage tunneling, Why would I ever go for the healer now if there is a chance they have MFT and its active?

  • Why is the thinking nerf Sloppy Butcher and not buff Solidarity, Resurgence and Reactive Healing to work despite Haemorrhage?

  • Its likely bot replacements will fix this.

So everyone can stop caring about it because it doesn't matter anyway, and still win because game will be balanced around it.

I personally feels good when I don't have to care about defending specific gen anymore.

Sure and someone would feel personal good when Survivors start the game on hook, that does not make it a good idea for a game.

  • Then there would be no strategy in forcing Survivors off some gens if they always automatically get the advantage in the end game.

  • bHVR does not need much time to make a determination on how many of the Singularitys's attemtps at using their power should not work by Survivors. its pretty clear by anyone who has played them that Survivors have quickly understood how to use the EMPs and how to disable the Killers power effectively.

If bHVR didn't step in the Killer would just die out, Imagine that a Killer dead on release, nobody wants that.

It isn't a question of skill, its a question of usability and access to power right now.

  • What if you lost half your stacks per hit instead?

  • I am seeing Hope + Made for This on at least one Survivor every match I played today. Its just a free way to give the killer a disadvantage in chases at no costs. And on top of that it makes you have Endurance after healing, its just too much for one perk.

There is no way this perk isn't gonna be overused, splitting it into two perks is my suggestion.

Dont worry. We might not go anywhere that is fine, but I'm still going to address the points you bring up in hopes to inspire bHVR to consider it another way. Especially the accepting of "Perk Uno gameplay" which I think is very worthwhile addressing and I hope that nugget is noted by bHVR. I really don't want to play a game designed that way.

Even so Agreeing to disagree was always the default. There should be no hard feelings between us here, just the points, the feedback and our feedback to the feedback. I am also Sorry for saying I think you a troll, I see now those ideas run a bit deeper when you clarified them for me. Still 100% disagree with the underlying ideas.

If you really wanted those kind of productive conversations you would not start psychoanalizing the counterpart of the conversation like you have been doing since the first post, so let’s get down from that high horse a bit.

Your argument of this perk being overused and hated can be applied to Wesker, who is the most played DLC character ever and that’s fine because he is strong and fun, what a character is supposed to be. People just hate him because he is every other game, same that you say is the case for MFT. New content are supposed to be fun and strong, if not nobody would buy or try it and will just stick to the same 4 perks for survivor for 7 years and Nurse/Blight with 4 slowdowns.

Again, find your way to have fun and counter what you find unfun if it bothers you that much until it gets changed or a new flavor of the month arises. There are already counters to MFT in some killers addons, and definitely in perks, the main problem is how most maps are designed what leaves the point of this discussion. I’m sure more perks soon to come will work well against MFT, the same way they released Reassurance to band-aid the complaints on camping (people were also being catastrophic and dramatic and you see how the game is still perfectly playable, consistent good results for killers as well, handshakes all around). Acting like the game is unplayable and impossible to enjoy because of a new perk that can make its ay in the meta every 3 months if lucky enough to get a good perk is just delusional.

    Cheers!

Me stating my beliefs about your attitude based on what you say isn't psychoanalizing.

Additionally that post was not even my first response, in fact it was you who first suggested the problem was in the mind to me.

Other than that, looks like you finally have decided to address the point, so lets run through that:

    • In an attempt to dismiss the point about Usage and Feedback you refer to Wesker because if usage numbers and feedback mattered then Wesker would get nerfed.
    • However that isn't necessarily the case, while Wesker is indeed used a lot he is still reasonably balanced.
    • IS the escape rate for Made for This Survivors better or worse at certain MMRs? bHVR will know this.
    • It is also easier to nerf a perk over develop changes to a Killer.
    • So they are very different in caliber.

So no, it isn't hypocritical to have Wesker be Wesker. Perhaps arguments could be made that older Killers needs to be shined up to compete with Wesker, Trapper anyone?

There are already counters to MFT in some killers addons, and definitely in perks,...

Perhaps there is, but that isn't a good idea to do balance. You cant ask people to be forced to bring a perk incase some other player brings another perk, indeed you bring up Reassurance later, but I think I dare say bHVR has learned that is not the way to balance around things. Indeed as well with borrowed time and reassurance, measures have been and are being undertaken to have that be a solved part of the game instead of playing Perk Uno.

So I dont buy this argument as being bHVR's intention at all.

(people were also being catastrophic and dramatic and you see how the game is still perfectly playable, consistent good results for killers as well, handshakes all around). Acting like the game is unplayable and impossible to enjoy because of a new perk that can make its ay in the meta every 3 months if lucky enough to get a good perk is just delusional.

I don't really believe in assuming people are liars when it comes to feedback, I doubt bHVR does.

I also don't really have big problem with hyperbole, if a person is saying the Killer is unplayable. It does not literally mean they unplayable. That is fine, because we can understand what they mean or we can ask them.

  • @Dark_Alex said:

Actually, they can. Wesker sprays are also limited, but have you ever run out of them?

They could but the Singularity reapplies them so fast. Limiting it would make survivors run out fast.

What we have to do is see what bHVR releases as a fix soon, and then make feedback from there. I doubt they will consider limited uses.

  • @adaw0ng said:

Why would I address the problem you brought up when I don’t see it as a problem? Looks like you want me to agree with you that bad. There are plenty of things in the game I don’t like and you probably do see them as normal and even healthy, and that’s fine! My point stands even more now because I have played more games against that combo as killer, and I still got consistent good results. If you don’t like it, more power to you! Hope you find a build and gameplay that allows you to have fun. Cheers!

Asking people to address point is not asking them to agree, I address points people make to me all the time on these forums because that is how you have a productive conversation. It allows me to give a perspective on the point, one perhaps the developers have not heard before thus giving more feedback.

Its also courteous to the other person you are speaking to, but idk you don't seem the type to want to have a productive conversation here if all you do is dismiss it as "mindset problem" Yet the feedback from this thread and other threads are undeniable to bHVR, made for this is quickly becoming overused and hated by the community at large, luckily bHVR does not dismiss issues with their game as "mindset problems", they do game changes.

I am here to have a productive conversation cause that helps bHVR the most and pointing out why "mindset problems" is a bad accusation excuse for a problem was an extraordinary pleasure. Even though its easy pickings, bHVR is smart enough for that.

  • Your OG post just happens to be a bad idea and you attempted to bs me cause your don't like disagreement. I mean, you could at least have addressed the problem I brought up, but no you went on with "mindset problems". A weak fallacy if anything.

its only the companies fault if they advertise something that is not true. If they would say the new killer is super strong and easy to play and then you buy. Then its the companies fault.

But if there is a 2 week public test build and you even bought it 5 days after the official release..., well

The company is not to blame if you dont like theire product.

But of course you have the right to point at the things you dont like, but you have no right to blame the devs for those points you dont like.

Interesting, so I if there is plastic in the food I sell, but I never claim to be selling clean food. By your morality its not my fault if you buy it and get sick? I mean after all, "sounds like a you problem, other people dont get sick."

yeah but you can still inform yourself about the killer and how hard he is to learn. And even if there is no information on it, you can just wait until the release to look it up. When you first played him days after release you would had a lot of time to look him up before buying the chapter.

How hard does reliable information have to be at the moment of buying have to be before a guy like you who blames people so easily says its the company's fault?

I bought the Killer on Steam, didn't say anything about that on there. Either way, Customers always have the right to complain.

if you dont inform your self about what you want to buy, you have no right to complain to the devs that you dont like it. They showed you what you were buying and you just not looked at it, bought it and now you complain that you dont like it. Makes no sense to me, but ok.

I would still complain if I was not satisfied and bHVR wants my feedback.

thats your good right, if you want to do that. Like i said, thats just my opinion. I am just saying if you buy stuff you dont like, you are a part of the reasons why the stuff is like this.

Even if that was true, how many Survivors do you think knows how to play against the Killer after 5 days?

I can tell you, everyone I played against today knew it VERY WELL.

thats true, thats a part i did not really think about. i apologize.

It tells me a a lot when you admit you don't know what player onboarding is.

ok, i read up on this and yes, bhvr is pretty terrible at that. But i kinda like to find things out myself and not getting every bit pre cut for me.

But i honestly dont know why you think it tells a lot about me that i dont now things a bout game design/development, i dont think those are things you need to know by name if you dont work with or around it.

if you dont inform your self about what you want to buy, you have no right to complain to the devs that you dont like it. They showed you what you were buying and you just not looked at it, bought it and now you complain that you dont like it. Makes no sense to me, but ok.

The Steam buy page says nothing of the character's difficulty.

@Emeal Also serious question. I'm not gunna bash you no matter your answer. I want this discussion to be as civil as possible because I love debating and conversing with others. But do you have the camp and tunnel every game playstyle? I'm just assuming you do due to your answers. If so take a week and try to play for 12 hooks without securing stages and all that jazz and get back to me. And tell me what games went easier for you. I personally don't care how people play, but it's just beneficial for the game's health if people want to chase and get a ton of hooks without camping, tunneling, and excessive slugging.

This whole proposal would make it so killer's wouldn't have to do what you're saying is fine. Because they would be interacting with you more than ever giving you a chance to get more hooks and not worried about losing 2 gens in the first chase. Survivors will still do it but this discourages it. More interaction with you is less stress so the need of tunneling and camping isn't needed as much.

To your question. No I don't usually face-camp, its very rare. Tunneling? yeah, if I can get away with doing it. But I don't stay by the hook that is far too boring, but if they unhook next to me. Ill delete the unhooked zero problem. A Free kill for me.

Im not going to make it the aim to get 12hooks, I see that as being the Survivor's playdog. Nah Im ending it when I can. Sorry.

And, to you second point. You might want to rephrase it if you think Im this dyed hard face-camper every game.

How is it biased thinking that a player doing more should be rewarded more? It's also not biased since we're talking in hypotheticals. The player who receives equal reward as a player doing more than them is absurd since one player in this scenario is doing more.

Its biased thinking cause you are using a value system to say which playstyles are good/bad, you even told me that yourself.

Its isn't unfair either, its basic work smarter not harder. But you can make a choice and play either way here. whatever you want.

Well my bottom line is that if a killer main knows what they’re doing MFT on its own without other haste perks wouldn’t be a problem and it’s unfair to revolve any game around players who can’t even play the game

An interesting theory sure, but you need to demonstrate that being true and then figure out how to teach that to all Killers.
