Why are you playing if your equipment isn't working properly?

Creativity is always nice to see here and I can see you have put alot of thought into it.
I too would like to see a vampire Killer.

I removed it. I thought about it all day, I don't think myself that was a good idea either with how many improvements The Knight is getting on this topic.
Thanks for your support, though.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3515321#Comment_3515321
It's unfortunately true. The Knight has a difficult time to apply pressure and activately hunt survivors without Map of the Realm. Call of Arms is necessary to improve the quality of setting up his guard.
I forgot to add the most important and frustrating part. Whenever you're too close to a pallet, a generator or a breakable wall, you can't activate your power unless you walk a few cm away from said object. That's what I hate the most about his power and I can't believe myself how I forgot to add it in the list. I edit my post and put it in the list.

No.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3515340#Comment_3515340
I agree with you about The Jailer but not about not letting The Knight manually cycle guards. He should be a killer that has full control over his power and choose his guard by free will. This will immensely improve the quality of life of The Knight's power.
If you want to reduce the amount of use to one of his guards, I suggest to put a cooldown on it so you can't summon the same guard too often, or balance The Assassin. I think one of these two balance options will make The Knight not too oppressive during a chase? Perhaps a token system can be in place and then it goes on cooldown for example "The Assassin has 2 tokens. After he's summoned 2 times, put on cooldown for x seconds" then you have to use different guards? Any suggestions are welcome.
I think @ARTRA & @Snowball777 made good suggestions to turn The Jailer a useful companion.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3515591#Comment_3515591
I like that suggestion where you get bonus movement speed inside The Jailer's patrol vision circle. About selecting your own guard, read my above statement why I disagree.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3515597#Comment_3515597
Yes, The Jailer needs more of that. With Made For This often in play, he's basically running the Olympics!

Right? There are many more killers that suffer the same fate as The Knight. This is why you see so much use of Marvin's Blood then nerfed later by Behaviour. The Twins with their Toy Sword Add-On which also got nerfed later. My suspicion is, they look at their statistic and see these Add-Ons are used too much, so they nerf it.
Instead, this has proven me wrong, because reading the 7.2.0 | PTB patch notes, I can clearly see that The Knight didn't receive a nerf to Map of the Realm but instead they nerfed Pillaged Mead.

I would like to see changes, but I dont want to see nerfs without compensation. Killers are already so unpleasant to play and its hard to get a Kill.

This issue is still an issue.
-
if the facecamping changes coming, self unhook is going to be a thing without perks.
Tho I dont know if it will help with using the hook to get out of the game.
-
I agree on "Adding Map of the Realm to The Knight as basekit"
Because that addon makes playing him SO MUCH easier and SO MUCH MORE pleasant. It seems like bHVR took a good Killer power and then nipped it down to create addons. Sorry guys, but it really does look like that. I think bHVR has a problem with making Killers and that are downright unpleasant to play unless they use specific addons or are severely skilled with said Killer. Knight (Map of the Realm) and Deathslinger (Spit polish Rag + Wardens key) comes to mind with Guard range and reload speed.
I think bHVR could improve the game a trillion percent by removing addons that are grossly overused and normalizing the part of their Power which uses those, This is a way you can open up our considerations to different addons, instead of designing the Killer and that specific addon to be our only choice until we get good enough at the Killer or forever if we dont.
Please consider this point bHVR, I would be so happy if you made considerations to Killers based on this and made addons equal and not essential, even tho I asked for this many times now, but here we go again.

I don't think it would be healthy for the game until the fix camping, stacking these perks would cause unwinnable situations as STBFL is problematic in the current state of the game as it is.
I would say just make the perk not able to be stacked or a cap, but looking at gen speed ups and slow downs and heal slow downs that just doesn't seem to be a thing they'd do.
bHVR is already developing a solution of Face Camping.

That's true, I had a game just yesterday where shots that should have missed hit, and shots that should have hit missed, it was extremely frustrating.
Yeah I recommend just ignoring any argument about skill, its just objectively untrue.
I mean, look at Survivors who get hit through a window like 10m from said window. "Just skill it lmao"

your missing shots so you should get punished as killer for ineffective power usage. he is high skill killer but the gun has too much counter-play on survivor end along with too high terror radius with 110% m/s making pre-running gens too effective.
most of the time they are not missing their shots, its server delay and hit validation, connection that sometimes takes the shot away from you.

How about a feature that enables you to prevent encountering a particular Survivor and their perks?

Yeah, if Im using an addon or perk it would be great to summarize the effect it had for me. I want to know it rather than feel like it makes a difference, alot of dbd is about feeling it makes a difference and idd like that different.
Like if Im using Sloppy Butcher. tell me how many seconds I increased the survivor's healing.

Probably because games shouldn't be balanced based off complaining on forums without also seeing if actual games frequently play out the way some are claiming.
and yet the game often is. Done in part from exactly that reason.
-
A Killer side option for making the screams the Killer hear be a short scream & not loud with be excellent QoL for Killer.
Would be nice not to be forced to hit the Survivor to interrupt that ear piercing scream.
-
After bHVR have been trying everything they can do to make those strategies impossible to do isnt that like... sending mixed messages? If they view it as an exploit, what other exploit themed skins would killers be getting? Forever Freddy? 3gen Skull Merchant?
-
I want to know who is paying for it, because THAT group should get the feedback on the poor rewards.
I dont know if its Amazon buying the rewards for their gaming Service from bHVR or bHVR buying advertisement on their platforms.
-
The Alien is human tho,
Like the classic Xenomorph the way we know them only happens when a facehugger eggs a human, it is also as flawed a being as anything ever. After all, a middle aged adult completely outsmarted them, TWICE. A little girl managed to hide from them, despite the "heightened pheromone detection"
Honestly, the Xenomorph is a brute and pretty dumb, It will fit right in :D
-
I agree it would be nice to hear from bHVR again on this front, by all metrics I have seen its a overly complicated killer to play. Word from bHVR would be nice rather than the onslaught of "just get good" that players who dare speak out about Singularity get these days.

Sure, just don't want to see post of killers complaining that survivors are bad and just pre drop pallets
You will see that here cause for every 100 opinions of dbd there are 100 more.
-
@BlueHorkew said:
You want survivors to pre drop pallets even more?
Isn't there enough perks that punish survivors for stunning the killer with a pallet but get countered by pre dorpping?
with all the pallets the Survivors have, the more they predrop the better.
-
I think its pretty wild that when Survivors get agitated by a perk, its nerfed swiftly within months. But if Killers are agitated by a perk its held off or ignored for years before its even approached for a fix. You would think as the sole person responsible for the gameplay for 4 people every match, the Killer would have a sweeter deal in this game. But no, bHVR is always squeezing those lemons sour.
If how the players on the receiving end think of them is even up for discussion, then Where is the Killer perks that are as agitating to Survivors as MFT are to Killers? Cause I don't see them and this game should treat both sides fairly right?
The least idd like to hear from bHVR is why the latest Killer perks has not entered the meta, like all the Survivor perks that have entered the meta like uhm... huh... hum... well, the last Killer Meta Perk was from Knight, I hope we get lucky from Alien then, jeez.

That's really sad that we don't have any info yet on how well this worked out. My guess is that they can't say too much about the differences now compared to before the new HUD because all this data is not really substantial.
If the MMR system is working mostly correct (and I assume it is because I haven't really seen anything that would suggest otherwise) it should balance out win rates overall. So the difference would be minimal.
Also, they'd have to differentiate between 3 SWF and 1 solo, 2x2 SWFs, 2 SWF and 2 solos and 4 SWF and different MMRs. It's only logical that new players don't benefit from the improved HUD as much as more experienced players do. When nobody knows what they are doing, vague information is likely not going to make much of a difference.
Especially point 3 is interesting. I don't know why BHVR are so reluctant to share future plans on specific things like solo queue improvements or killer updates / reworks. Even something like: "We can't promise anything yet but it is on our radar and will be closely monitored." can help and will leave us reassured.
I agree expect I think the MMR system has way way way more Lobby Dodges to deal with rn than normal. After a week after Singularity release I would just get hardcore juicers as Survivors and it just continued. There has to be more people above me in MMR who dodges lobby and it widens enough to include me.

keep in mind this is more of a rant/vent i've just went through. not just now, but almost everytime.
am i the only one who gets A LOT of those annoying swfs when playing killer? but when i play as survivor, all of my teammates are always the opposite. this is the main reason why i'm scared to play as the killer, because most of the times the teams that i go against are those t-bagging toxic swfs. of course i *sometimes* get normal matches but THOSE people are the low-life creatures that make me hate the whole match and play killer in general. and also always the "gg ez" in post-chat, even when only one of them escapes through the hatch(which they also t-bagged at until i hit them but still escaped).
i wish there was an option where you don't wanna go against people like that, just anything that won't make my whole experience pure hell. i truly enjoy being killer but those rats made me a survivor main. honestly, what's even the point in being like that? does it "entertain" you by spamming the crouch button 24/7 while getting chased, throwing a pallet, vaulting, standing, literally while doing anything just to annoy the killer purposely? or something else? don't forget the whole "flashlight flickering" thing, and of course most of the time all of them 3-4 carry one and just try to spammingly blind you while you try to pick up someone. even surprising how they get gens done SO fast somehow when at the same time they just..."waste" time while trying to annoy you.
words can't explain how much i hate them...just play the goddamn game normally. it's always those nea's, feng's, ace's or even sometimes yui's. now, i don't want answers like "people like that exist, ignore them, play casually". i don't need to hear the same bs over and over again, i just wanna see whether someone can relate to this highly and also feels this level of anger when going against a team like that. ideas/suggestions on how to not queue with teams like that would also be interesting and helpful to hear. i mean, if i see a lobby with high-prestiges and flashlights, i immediately leave because i just know it's gonna be something...well, not enjoyable. even worse when 2 or more of them turn into their p100 character the last 5 seconds. come on, i don't wanna get "bullied" by some idiots in a game, i wanna play with & against players that are casual/average, even with swfs but NOT that type.
I think the problem is there has begun a severe lobby dodging problem since the Singularity Release, what happens then is that those dodged lobbys increase the range for Killers, its much more likely that is the kinda lobbys you are getting.
-
So I noticed a few things, the initial DC penalty was lowered to 60s
Source?
-
Are Killers not supposed to be frustrating to go against? This isnt a walk in the Park kinda game.
-
Trickster has a 45% winrate on Nightlight, assuming Trickster is anywhere near that I suggest some changes.
I think he would be way better if he needed more knives to down, but was raised up to 115% movementspeed.
also his ult, you need to make it more interesting. Like it changing his attack for a little while, like a shotgun mode for the blades.
-
I think the real problem is that people would think the Shapeshifting would be the ENTIRE Power, yet its much more likely that the power is just used as a stealth mode. This game is an action game. So the time that a Killer would have to be stealthed would have to be very small, small enough for any SWF communication to be an obstruction rather than an advantage.
-
This suggestion is kinda speculatory unless we get bHVR to spill the beans about soloQ vs. SWF again.
idd like to get a word on how the new HUD info worked and improved the game, answering these questions.
- Current SWF / SoloQ winrate difference?
- what has HUD info changed?
- Are there any next steps?
-
Its the same animation, but its the Camera tilt which has been removed. bHVR wanted to add a forced camera tilt to all killers after every successful hit. and loads of Killers fought them on the PTB feedback forum over this. The message was clear, the Killers didnt want to be forced to look down after landing a hit so this is the result.
I think in terms of raw gameplay its better cause bHVR dont jank my vision away from my target.
If you wish to create the old effect, just look down briefly after each hit.
-
Its not a bad idea, but How would you propose a Bomb Killer would function?

There's no reason to fear DS when you are a mobility or ranged killer, it literally only gives the survivor 2 seconds to run, completely laughable
And even if 5 seconds won't deter them, it still allows the survivor to actually get somewhere
Not if you use it in combination with line of sight blockers. DS takes some skill to use.
-
I like the Portraits.
I think the Survivors might have been dipped in oil before the photoshoot but other than that its fine.
-
@BlueHorkew said:
Don't know, maybe to not give disadvantage to the survivor. I would be really angry if a killer found me because Nic Cage wouldn't shut up.
Then maybe bHVR should have made a system that only sends a voice line to the Killer when the Killer downs him or drops a pallet on him.

No. Not for Loop-based interactable objects where camera angle provides counterplay. In these cases the camera follows the object you interacted with, at the very least providing a connection between action and the camera movement.
The on-hit lookdown was stupid because to actually provide any benefit in open ground it would have to be as significant as Nurse or Legion Lookdown, and Survivors already got the on-hit speed boost which they could use for distance to break line of sight with terrain.
You are free to look down if you wish to look down when vaulting for immersion sake. I don't want to do it.
Im busy killing survivors instead of worrying if my immersion when vaulting is good. And yes ofc bHVR trying to control my vison gets in the way. All I ask is for bHVR to stop getting things in the way of my ability to Observe the world I kill survivors in, Thanks.
-
I don't know why bHVR has such a big interest in making it as uncomfortable to play Killer, how our vision must be forced in certain ways. How about you let Killers control their own vision and stop making forced vision animations for the game? Just an idea.

Well. You clearly play just one side then.
I play both sides and I see that a, using DS does not help anything, because those 10s that it can possibly prolong chase are insignificant and hard tunneler will just not mind it at all
b, people indeed stopped abusing it. But let's be honest. DS into headon was VERY rare already. It was like 1 in 100 games or even less. Most people didn't even had a chance to use the perk against me, because I generally don't tunnel so the perk rarely did anything (but sure enough, from time to time it was used aggresively) - if you were able to guess, then that was also free pressure (1 less person on a gen and 1 person that needed to pick up DS abuser).
No, I do not only play one side. I play enough Survivor to get Grade 1 rewards.
It does not matter if many did abuse DS with Head on, its still an awful timewaster and bHVR saw that, it was unintended so they fixed it.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492377#Comment_3492377
The problem that DS was feared is because people have stopped using it, the changes were marginal, they just stopped making it easy to abuse and then everyone dropped it like candywrapper.
All I am saying is, that THIS IS NOT TRUE. People stopped using it, because the perk is now really bad at it's only job. It's very conditional and even if stars align, it still provides very little value. The perk should be either very conditional (like adrenaline) or it should provide you little value (like bond). Or some mix of those 2. It should never be weak AND conditional. Otherwise you are asking for more "Red herring" or "Territorial imperative" perks...
I just dont believe you, I played Killer ever since DS was introduced. Ever since that time it has been run on a person that tries to get in the Killer's way. To stop me from doing my job. Now that the person using DS cant help their team without canceling DS they dont use it. Simple as. I am not blind to whats been happening in my matches. And the reduced time mean they cant use it to trick you into being stunned for 8 seconds with Head on.
Once bHVR cleaned up the perk, they all dropped it. I have seen it with my own eyes.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492366#Comment_3492366
10s is upper bound. For a perk that can do exactly nothing in game. Is useless against high-tier killers. And at reasonable best buys 10s. Also it's a perk that's a bandaid for tunneling - and at best it still just buys you those 10s. But it doesn't matter if killer decides to tunnel anyone else from your team instead. So it's very likely it does nothing in whole game.
Nope. That doesn't sound like reasonable perk.
That does not say much, there are many perks that have bad activation requirements, would not be the first time a perk isnt valuable in a match. If a player makes the choice that they don't need help with tunneling at all, then that's their choice.
I dont know why you bring your grievances with the perk being imperfect to me, you wont get a perk that always gives you value and I would never agree to that.
That said, Im not against a power cooldown to make it more viable against certain Killers.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492361#Comment_3492361
I did. The perk almost always buys like 5-10s at most. The best thing how to utilize it is actually just as a bleedout reset thingy - in this case if I actually eat DH, then it provided some value. Meaning the perk IS TRASH. It can't do anything reasonable on it's own. You need 2 perks that are both suboptimal now to get any value. And THAT is the reason why people don't bring it (not as you said that there's minor inconvenience).
10 seconds is fine, like you already lost a chase and you got another chance for free.
How much value do you think you deserve from one perk slot?
-
@Gandor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492343#Comment_3492343
I doubt this claim.
There's very clear spike of threads about need to buff DS from patch 6.1 saying how tunneling is THE problem in the game. Some threads don't mention DS, but still talk about tunneling - way more then before this patch. That's the proof of the claim.
What video of Otz is that?
lol Sure, if you dont try to confuse the Killer and run in a straight line then the Perk is bad. LMAO.
Do the same test in a normal game Please
But yeah the perk could certainly use the ability to reset cooldown on the Killer's Power.
-
@Gandor said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3492027#Comment_3492027
Right after nerf Otz made a video. Almost all killers were able to redown survivor in 5s after the stun. DS is a joke now. That's why people don't bring it.
Remove drop animation so you have indeed 3s head start instead of effectively 1.8s and people will use it again. Or prolong duration back to 5s. Or give survivors 150% movement sprint for 3s (which means 1.8s).
Then people will stop making sooooo many threads saying tunneling is rampart and there's no real protection against it.
I mean - it's sad that the strategy needs perk to have at least somewhat useable counter - so devs solved it by removing counter in perk form and called it a day (and surprise surprise - tunneling is suddenly at all-time-high).
What video of Otz is that?
Then people will stop making sooooo many threads saying tunneling is rampart and there's no real protection against it.
I doubt this claim.
-
Killers wont tunnel less even if you add two extra seconds. The problem that DS was feared is because people have stopped using it, the changes were marginal, they just stopped making it easy to abuse and then everyone dropped it like candywrapper. If everybody started using it again, then it would be feared maybe. But being not abusable and survivors thinking they are smart enough to outloop the Killer, this is what you get.
Also, if you add 2 seconds the Perk is abusable with Head On again. Allowing 7 to 8 seconds stuns. even worse with the perks we get tomorrow.
