  • I want the 2v8 and 5 vs 5 game modes.

  • Matchmaking is probably the hardest problem Game Developers can try to solve, there is like a million variables and concerns to take into account. Calling the efforts so far a joke is just rude and crass.

  • yeah, I really wish bHVR would get on this issue right away. Even tho its low priority its been asked for and hoped for, for AGES.

Time to do something about it.

The fun fact is, that there wasn't one in Phasmo either. First it was just a number getting bigger and bigger, now it is 20 prestige levels that do nothing but provide you with a new ID badge, but you have to grind everything anew (like old prestige in DBD). After P20 you also only have unlimited levels.

What I want to say is, that how similar both prestige systems are and yet the devs are handling it so differently.

No the Fun fact is the P100 Red Crystal icon is about as meaningful as an ID badge but both games also have people who are unhappy with the reward the developer picked, Dbd has the most rapid fans of the two, that is why there has been a diffrence in response.

I guess we will see if bHVR changes and go back on them not wanting to lock content behind such a large work amount.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

It is also very interesting how Phasmophobia is going to add prestige rewards which are cosmetics (they don't have any monetization btw), but BHVR thinks it's FOMO....

    right...

Yeah, that was what Prestige was originally developed as. a time sink for players who don't have other games to play.

But instead some players went, "Oh so you are challenging me bhvr?"

and bHVR is like: "No no really"

and then after 3 month, players ask for a reward knowing full well there never was a reward.

  • what @LapisInfernalis said. An effect overlay to put on every skin on the P100 character would be awesome and a great reward.

100% better than any single cosmetic.

  • 5. Dream Realm: All pallets on the map respawn, but not all of them are real.

Me playing Killer, having chased one survivor for 2min, finally about to down them. Pallet respawns...

    "fun focused"

Hahah yes super fun focused, that's exactly how ill feel if that happens.

You don't think usage rate is an indicator of a perk being valuable? Sorry, that's just super wrong. Don't even know what to tell you.

The fact somebody picks the perk is 100% an indication of such.

What do you mean? Are Iron will or Self Care now amazing (or even decent) perks? Or Blast mine? 😂 They have the same or even higher useage rate then Inner.

Also objectivly speaking, Inner is mediocre at best. The time it takes to get a heal off is roughly the same time you need to Selfcare yourself. Finding a totem, cleansing a totem, running to a locker, hiding inside of it. These are a lot of steps and a lot of time for a perk that is risky to use (Pentimento). The only positive thing about it is that is works very well against Sloppy. On the other hand it is insanly bad against UW (cleanse totem).

Apart from that, Self Care can be used as often as you want without any prep or dependency that a totem may be nearby. And you know what? Self Care is also pretty bad.

True, you are not wrong because I feel that way. You are wrong because Spirit Fury is absolutely fine on its own without enduring, for cutting off seconds of getting hit with a pallet its pretty damn good. That fact that its gets even better with the addition of more perk slots is nice but that isn't the end all or be all of that perk. The seconds you can shave of is undeniably useful.

Thats fine and it is your opinion. I personally would never run Spirit fury without enduring.

Yes. They are decent perks. No matter what you find laughable, the numbers speak for themselves.

That's fine and it is your opinion. I personally would never run Spirit fury without enduring.

Its an objective time reduction, the fact you think its not enough isnt an argument.

A popularity of less then 5% tells pretty much nothing about the quality of a perk. According to that, Blastmine, Quick and Quiet, Flashbang, Iron Will and Self Care are great perks (they are not, rather C to F tier).

I think it would be nice to have some extra Synergy with other perks. Makes the game more interesting. Agree to disagree.

Spirit fury on its own is not good at all, so i am not "wrong" just because you feel that way. Apart from that, we were talking about synergy and Enduring is definitly boosting this perk without any doubt.

There is no agreement between us to buff perks that don't need a buff. Not at all interested in buffing perks that are already above average. A neither interested in giving already fine perks even more advantageous synergies. Much Much Much rather just buff weaker perks than plan out synergies for them.

Would you kindly explain me, why you think that way? It is pretty weak compared to many other healing perks.

On top of that, the buff would not be that big. Using 2 perks slots and a lot of time (blessing and locker takes very long, and it is a one time thing) is even after the minor buff still questionable if this would make inner a strong perk or not.

Well sure, according to Nightlight, Inner Strength is like 23th most used Survivor Perk. This coupled with the fact that it allows healing without a team-mate makes it extra powerful only with a little skill on the Survivors part. I run it myself and its so good to be not reliant on team-mates. To buff Inner Strength at this point would require a good argument, which a hope to buff a Synergy isnt.

    @xEa said:

Ahm, yes of course it does exactly that. That is called synergy.

Spirit fury would be close to useless without Enduring. UW is strong on its own, but becomes a monster perk with Dead Mans switch. Self Care is pretty bad but is somewhat decent with Botany. Tanacity on its own is god aweful, but with power struggle and Unbreakable, it becomes really good. I could go on and on and on.

yes, the Synergy is. but the Perk isn't and it does not need it. Buffing a Synergy dont make up for perks needing a buff and a strong perk most CERTAINLY dont need to be part of a good synergy aswell-

But you are also wrong about the perks, I use Spirit fury without enduring. Perks have to hold their own first and a synergy is is just a bonus onto those. inner strength dont need that bonus rn.

  • It would be great if you could come with some examples of the map design you dont like

  • A great first step would be to make all Offerings account wide for each side. ofc Bloody part streamers and event offerings can be used on both sides.

  • I rather want a Scooby Doo Chapter. bHVR has the connections. Just make sure shaggy has an AI Scoobydog following him around.

  • I would be nice, if they talked as much as Nicolas Cage cause that really brings out their character.

But it would also be nice to hear their voice when you play as Killer.

  • No improving one perk does not buff another. OR Surely you dont mean to say Inner Strength itself is underwhelming?

It wont be the saving grace for boon perks, but it cant hurt to create a singery with another perk that is not that popular aswell.

but it cant hurt to create a synergy with another perk that is not that popular aswell.

absolutely incorrect, inner strength dont need a buff.

the whole point of boons is suppose to be that they're high skill-cap to use but get good rewards when activated. it is meant to be high-risk, high reward. now they're high risk, low reward. as a result, nobody using them. the reward is just not good enough.

point being buffing inner strength wont change that.

  • The reason boons are underwhelming isnt because they lack synergy with Inner Strength. Its mostly because they are too difficult to use, You dont need to buff one of the Survivors strongest perks and hope that makes boons more viable.

bHVR just need to take a big critical look at boons and make gameplay related changes to them.

  • But you CAN buy those Rift cosmetics in the Shop usually a year after, except charms and a few others.

What I think is absolute trash is that the people who complain about FOMO wont allow bHVR to give us a heads up regarding Rifts running out, I have asked bHVR to give us a warning so I can get what I want with money if I didnt have time to clear the Rift this time. But nooo... fomofomofomo.

Please start giving heads up regarding the end of the Rift again bHVR, maybe 20, 10, 5 and few days before the Rift ends.

and just ignore the fomo detractors, if you are gonna have a Battlepass you must support it with heads up too.

  • @Chaosrider what does "resetting" means in case of the MMR System?

Do you wanna flush players out of it by random while they are in Queue?

    What is being reset?

  • Survivors have gotten borrowed time base kit and a new mechanic to make face camping disadvantageous.

How much more do you need?

Sounds more like you wanna make it impossible to guard a hooked Survivor, which eliminates such a big part of Killer gameplay.

fewer individuals would find it to be a viable strategy, fostering a more dynamic and engaging gameplay experience.

for you maybe, but you are not the only Killer around.

  • If they did that to Flashbangs, why would anyone run Leon's perk then?

  • @dakhnas The system was never meant to affect Killers who proxy camp, only Killers who face-camp.

Thats why they called in the Anti-Face-Camp System.

Now I agree that Killers such as Slinger, Huntress and potentially Trickster have been able to game the system and still be able to camp with face-camp levels of success, but still its a great success cause I have not seen a face-camper in a long time.

I really wouldn't call him hard neither.

You need more knowledge (where to use which bottle to get hit) than actual skill in my opinion, but that's true for most killers.

What is skill if not "knowing what to do when and where"?

Don't you think that Clown is op? his base speed is too fast for a killer that can slow survivors, with add-ons its literally impossible too loop. I woudnt have a problem if the slow was a skill shot that is pretty hard to hit, but his bottle are AOE. This is littrealy absurd.

There is still skill in landing an AOE tho, try clown yourself hes not an easy killer.

I understand that Dying Light is showed as it modifies actions speed so the player doesn't have to ask "why I'm healing people so fast?", but there is no reason to show STBFL to the obsession as it not affect his gameplay in any way.

Also, what we need is for less perks to be shown to survivors (e.g. Dissolution), not more.

but there is no reason to show STBFL to the obsession as it not affect his gameplay in any way.

    i would tho 100%

    Really quick note on this:

This might in fact be why to the devs the Dredge and other killers look perfectly fine: They have an overall decent killrate. Not because they're in a good spot but because very few people know what to do. It's easy to win against survs who don't know about the killer specific things they need to do.

We don't make decisions solely based on kill rates. Kill rates only show us where a problem might be, they don't tell us whether or not there is a problem or what that problem is. We spend a lot of time gathering feedback and watching gameplay before committing to changing something.

That aside, matchmaking is incredibly complex, so it's difficult to account for absolutely everything. To shed some light on why this isn't the case at the moment, most skills you use as you play are transferable and work against multiple Killers. Managing your time and deciding when you should be working on a generator, when you should be healing, and when you should be saving are all things that will come in handy no matter who you're facing. Memorizing the layouts of different maps so you know where to run is always going to be the same. Looping a Trapper isn't very different to looping a Legion, or a Pig, or an Oni, and so on. Some force you to play a bit more differently, but there's still a core set of skills that you bring with you.

The tricky part with splitting your Survivor rating into a rating for each Killer is that there are a lot of Killers in the game - 34 and counting. In practice, this would mean that your rating against any given Killer would only update 1/34th of the time, making it very slow to adjust. If you were struggling against the Dredge, for example, you would have to play many matches against them before your rating would lower to a more comfortable range. It takes a bunch of matches to estimate where you should be, then many more to fine tune it. In order to have an accurate rating against each of those Killers, you would need to play hundreds if not thousands of matches.

I think the real problem here is that really good advice against a Killer isnt something the game gives at all, truth be told you DO have programmed the game to show some messages while loading. but those messages are not sufficient to a survival strategy.

You really SHOULD improve them to helps survivors AND Killers more.

You have fog whisperers and brilliant community experts, Why not ask them to pool game knowledge to make the loading screen tips?

I want to bet you a free next chapter Peanits, if you guys got the community experts together to make some better loading screen tips this game would improve in gameplay standards at least 5 fold.

  • @OrangeBear said:

I think this is a good idea but it might be jumping the gun and not necessary since it is a huge nerf as is.

My stance is that Hex Perks and Obsession Perks should have parts that make them somewhat easier to deal with, because of their stated weaknesses to being found and cleansed for example then they should be powerful perks. I think this could be great standard to set for those perks, Obsession Perks? yeah but the obsession is gonna know.

  • No I LOVE HASTE.

  • Yeah, bHVR is really sleeping on Buckle Up + For the People combo because its been going on for MONTHS now.

Genuinely, I don't know if they even know its annoying or if they wanna keep it cause it makes some streamers happy to do it.

  • "Wow, I cant believe the Anti-face Camping update didn't solve Proxy Camping"

Indeed. bHVR never said they would remove proxy camping.

  • custom icons seems like the pettiest thing to make money from

  • Yes. you are losing the game. YES the KILLER is securing maximum Kills. But that isnt a problem-

  • I agree they should add atleast 6. But you guys think too small...

What they should add should be a code system for builds, so we could share builds, copy paste them and have it instantly change.

They could also make a drop list system so we can store even more builds.

  • I agree, its not fun when the killer can catch up in seconds and there is nothing you can do.

  • No Kate should not be a free Survivor.

But bHVR should reach an agreement with the Community on which perks super good for for new Survivors and then make those perks available at all times for discounted price in the Shrine. THAT is how I wish bHVR would address the problem.

  • I think running this perk would be detrimental to my efforts. All the Survivors has to do is stop using their items for 30 seconds.

  • Geez, How about you get my MMR instead then? I have been facing Survivor Bully Squads all though the Holidays.

  • I dont think dbd needs voice chat.

Rather more emotes and a ping location system for Survivors.

  • @CammyChameleon said:

    Simple:

    Basekit Anti-Camp/Delivarance

Soon to be base kit Anti-3 gen

Killers still haven't received one of the most requested perks. With that being Corrupt

Killers still haven't received one of the most requested perks. With that being Corrupt

You do know that buffs are only given out when a class in this game is OVERALL performing poorly or an issue needs addressing?

Do you think Killers are overly performing bad against Survivors or there is an issue that needs to be addressed regarding Killers?

Those are the questions you need to ask and answer.

  • Actually, knockout provides another way to waste survivors time. There needs to be more slugging perks, or perks that activate on downing a Survivor and give power to the Killer that way. Knockout is unique in this way, and Idd rather want more.

  • I think we can all agree there are flaws with the current system:

    1. Players who wanna give up can easily die themselves on hook. (the chance to unhook is so small its a good method.)
    2. Players dont really know when the best time is to unhook. (I see people trying unhook at the slightest delay in rescue.)
    3. Players who wanna take the chance can die on the hook trying. (removing their second hooking before rescue.)

I can see why removing chance to unhook is so appealing, cause it solves all the problems.

    1. Players who want to give up and die on hook, Cant.
    2. Players who dont know when to, dont need to cause they cant.
    3. Players who wanna take a chance, Cant.

I agree that removing the chance to unhook self would be a good idea.

But I think instead of giving players a choice, I think bHVR should just allow players to take a chance in situations that are hopeless.

We would just need to define the situations were Self-unhook/ take a chance should be allowed.

For instance, when there is only one survivor left running, idd say thats a situation thats calls for it.

  • Passive abilities for Survivors was on the table in 2017, but bHVR didnt like the idea then, they prefered people to be able to play the Survivor they want.

What new argument do you have to undo this?

  • Netease does not need to produce any new content for the game, bHVR does that so they can just relax and do whatever the want.

So ofc Netease can do gameplay modes that bHVR dont have time for.

  • A lot of you will disagree, I don't care.

That's not how you convince people.

  • The Game freezes when the effects happen the first time in a match. its like those effects are not loaded like the other effects or there is no low quality version of the effects that makes them lag so much. The freeze is like 3 sec long.

  • The Killer cant face camp from a distance, so there is no reason the anti face camp system should activate on range.

  • Update: within a few games of writing this post, I had the "pleasure" of going against one of the biggest blight mains on Twitch.

Look bHVR, I know there are many factors that go into SBMM to make sure a consistent match time is maintained, but I don't see why it could be considered fair in ANY WAY POSSIBLE that I lose like 5 matches as Survivor in a ROW and then face one of the most cracked Blights in the Community. This make zero sense and the system has a problem you really ought to solve.

Some of your best player go AGES without finding a match and then your system pairs them with me.

Worst of all, I switched to Killer the next match and got a full on bully team so you cant tell me there was not matches for the best players there was, your system just dont match them up for whatever reason.

You should really try putting a penalty (15min) for dodging a lobby, because there is no reason that cracked full lobby squad should have been matched with me over a a better Killer other than the Killer dodged.
