I rather don't care about customization of basement, but if you want it and bHVR wants to make it happen, then why not.
Im more of a fix Killerpowers and perks than a more cosmetics kinda guy.
-
While someone could imagine the bHVR mapteam suddenly becoming godlike beings to make the perfect maps, I RATHER doubt that will happen. They made a very complicated map generation system and yes it has some flaws, but the good outweighs the bad there. I personally RARELY have critique for the map design cause I understand its supposed to be unpredictable.
So while 3 genning isnt a major problem, its still good they are getting around to make a solution that insures good gameplay experience even when a 3 gen happens or gets forced. In fact bHVR promised us that 3 gen solution to come out next year so that will be exciting and I the solution works so people can be happy.
-
check the wiki, but bHVR dont have a system to preserve event tomes atm
-
The last Survey did not have a what killers needs addon attention next, but I guess they are still down on the stuff they are doing until summer.
-
His passive is instadown.
-
Well thats why playing to win is a bad idea. Play to have fun.
-
it seems to be because bHVR did a test, they had discussions internally about what more they should do with perk icons and showing players. So now they are knee deep in a bunch of stuff they are trying to make work.

But these game modes could be fun here as well. Even you do not really like to see it along with the one mode which is wished for so long time. I absolutley understand it. But it just is natural that game developers go with the current stuff. And Among Us and Prop Hunt just is very popular. And sure it is just a copy, that is why I do not set it above the 2v8 or 5v5 but it would be my next game mode I would like to see in this game. Since imagine an Among Us Mode with survivors and killers in it. Or a tag mode.
And maybe I repeat myself but I think if they just suggested the modes, they already work on some of them. So I am very curious which game mode comes first to the game.
The least likeable mode I saw in the survey was the lottery where all items and perks are random. That is not good.
But these game modes could be fun here as well. ... But it just is natural that game developers go with the current stuff.
Could be, or could be bad copies. But you say its natural the game developer would go with current stuff, then they should go with 2vs8 because that is not only a current mode suggested, its literally their game but twice the input.
-
Look my guy, while you only have to worry about your own opinion and quickly decided what games changes would be good/bad for you. bHVR has to make that decision FOR ALL OF US, including those who disagree etc. Even an entire company cant do everything fast. We CAN ask and push bHVR to develop things before others and we should, but it comes with the understanding that bHVR has 117 other things they COULD be doing.
-
You cant blame your current mmr Killers for that, when you bring your wife first time playing up to your mmr its your fault, the Killers she would get to play as would be very good. in contrast a first time player would not be.
you should let her play vs her own mmr for a while before you give her a challenge she cant compete with.
a casual mode would not fix that because people would still play hard in casual mode.
-
I'm convinced 2v8 will be the most popular mode suggested this first time, what the final product will look like we dont know.
Yet I'm slightly disappointed that hooking wont be part of it, it seems bhvr wants that part to be out since 8 survivors could gang up on one killer. But im fine with that really, its a huge part of the game, a great gameplay moment and lightborn exists too. So yes, you may need to be quite good to vs. 2 flashlight users, but its not impossible. Besides I would look forward to KWF (Kill with Friends) being a thing, some coordination would be great, plus the broken ways different killers could combo would very much make hooking vulnerability a necessary counter play.
-
We all know swf has an unfair advantage.
How big is the advantage 5%?
-
There were many new game modes suggested, but I think bHVR does not need to copy other games into their own.
Community have been asking for 2v8 for a very long time, this could introduce Killer Lobbys and Kill with friends in the main menu.
two survivor teams vs each other for generator control vs 2 Killers would also be a good idea. using 2v8 as base.
idd really hate to see that 2v8 which is the oldest suggestion for this game get side lined for bHVR to rip off prophunt or amongus.
-
Have you never tried to unhook while being haunted by a guard? You should try it, you might be surprised.
-
I do, while a button would be super convenient I think the best solution to adding random perks feature is to create 4 perks more that just pick a random perk for the slot its in. This could mean, we need to find those perk in the bloodweb AND we need to level them up too. But the best feature would be that it allows us to plan PART of our build and then throw the rest to the winds.
I am not at all interested that random perks gets introduced as a game mode, I was so disappointed when I saw it finally as a new Game mode instead of a feature I can use regularly in normal games.
bHVR has only said they are "interested" in a random perks feature, but I don't want a random perks feature to sit in the idea pile at bHVR HQ when it ought to be SO easy to implement since they already made a challenge with it. I'm not a game developer, idk how hard it could be really, but they are at least 1/3 the way there.
Please with sugar on top bHVR make 2024 be the year of Random perks feature.

Why are we having an effect to deliberately be annoying and triggering?
Because the Killers literally impale and main Survivors, its fun to give them something to do back if just for a while.
-
I agree, it would not be a bad idea to make new Ormond map that is a bunch of cabins in a snowstorm.
Reduced visibility is not something they have considered for a new map and idd like to see it.
Then if the map turns out to be a horrible idea, the weather can be returned to normal and we just have a regular snow cabin map.
Its definitely an idea that bHVR should try make one map with, and keep it for a while, making sure they can use the map without snowstorm should that program fail.

If most people think that half an hour of waiting for each game mode is acceptable to play, and just play 5 minutes.
extactly more modes will DESTROY wait times so new modes being in the same pool would be a good thing.
which is why I think 2vs8 is the least problematic of all modes.

Maybe custom match mode, but not base mode
I imagine when you start searching, you pick what modes you sign up for and then its just first come first serve.
probably the best way to handle it.

A theme park is okay but an abandoned building with very surreal/unnatural things happening is not? I mean, sure it’s subjective and it’s okay to not like it but this kinda feels like gate keeping?
gatekeeping? what.
No I mean the abandoned building, even if the furniture in on the ceiling, its not scary or unsettling.

Off the Record does deactivate in endgame - if you are unhooked at that time the perk doesn't activate.
Maybe Im wrong, but I swear I see it used endgame.
Could bHVR consider displaying the perk icon to Killers for like 2 to 4 seconds after hitting an Endurance Survivor?
Like there are so many effects for endurance, its hard to know what I did wrong. or does bHVR still consider that sharing too much info?

Coincidentally, it also used to work during the end game as well. The issue here is at that point in the match, being unhooked made you practically untouchable. If the Killer chose not to go for you, you could still run in and take hits to protect the others. If the Killer did go for you (or was forced to because you're taking hits), you could crawl to the gate in most cases before the perk ran out.
In other words, as soon as you got unhooked, you were safe. There was zero risk because as long as it was equipped, you would be able to make it to the gate before it deactivated.
If DS is deactivated during Endgame, Why is Off-the Record not?
-
We need a Carnival/ Theme park. 100%
I'm not entirely sold on the horror aspects of Garden of Joy, abandoned buildings are not scary.

10 sec seems bit too much, it would be devastating for 110% killers and Nurse is completely screwed.
Something like 6 sec would be alright in my opinion.
The balance specifics be damned, at least we can agree on a solution.
-
The Queue will normalize in weeks. How about bHVR releases new content as they please? Loads of people wanted this Killer.

I mean, DS in it's current state is pretty worthless unless you are right next to a god pallet or window.
Even for pure M1 Killers, the minuscule stun doesn't give enough distance to matter for more than a few seconds until you're downed again. And that's not counting ranged/fast Killers that can re-down the Survivor nearly immediately after the stun ends (Nurse, Blight, Slinger, Spirit, Wesker and Huntress to some extent, Chucky etc.).
DS needed to be disabled in endgame (that was just bs), but it's nearly useless after the stun nerf. It's just not worth using. If the Killer doesn't tunnel it's a wasted slot anyway.
The perk needs to be changed to pause the Killer's power for 10 sec after then stun to function equally against all killers.
and maybe it needs to be able to fire twice in a match.

nope. and if it was that would be a badly designed Killer.

Kicking already is bad, no need to make it worse. Gen kick meta is also dead.
If anything, devs should simply adjust gen spawn points to prevent gens from spawning too close. Everything else is on survivors and it makes no sense to hold their hand and reward them for their poor choice of generators.
So you are saying, a three genning Killer would not kick the Generators? thats a new one for me.
-
Disagree the perk is created so it makes the Killer not camp, if you cant avoid the Killer for 20 seconds after a hook, then you need to go down in MMR. Come down to my level, We have cookies.
-
I made up some solutions back in October,
- Repeated Kicking has lower and lower effect until Killer cant even kick.
- Repeated Kicking will explode the generator and spawn a new one furthest away from the remaining two.
What do you think?

I’m an EU player lol I disagree but that’s ok people can have opinions I think without basekit bt sometimes it could be worse but it’s definitely worse now in my experience I’ve chewed through a lot of decisive strikes in my killer time lol and have tunnelled quite abit until I realised how miserable I was making the game for other people and just realised id rather express skill than rush a win
My memory recall isn't opinion and I just checked most of my saved endgame screens, We got at least a use rate of above 40%.
I dont know what bHVR is planning to do, but making DS any stronger will sky rocket the use rate and we will have the same problem.
-
I have never played a game quite like this that has to be fixed so much
Dwarf Fortress. World of Warcraft. Counter Strike Source. Kenshi. Rimworld. Team Fortress 2. Arma 3. Payday 2. PUBG.
PICK ONE.
Honestly, it just seems you don't know what a Live Service game is and that opinions differ on games.

I’ve played since 2017 and I started a killer main I don’t want people thinking this is some survivor bias because I play both side but I think a 5 second stun and it deactivating in range of an exit gate is a great idea for the perk I think if you take a protection hit it maybe could deactivate to stop body blocking it’s not gonna fix everything.
but back when there was 2-3 decisive strikes a lobby you were seeing less killers tunnel by a mile off I have been fighting for this perk to get buffed for so long I’ve made about 20-30 posts on it because it’s the only thing that made a killer think twice about tunnelling someone out I think it should put head on on cool-down maybes and something to help body blocking but something needs to change
I disagree 100% with that, that's not how I remember it at all. I only remember loads of DS and us playing through them, either slugging people for a minute to burn it out or picking up the person anyway. That is the EU experience I recall.
Tunneling were 100% in the game back then and it might even be worse back then than now.

Yeah I honestly think after the buff every survivor should run decisive strike if you don’t tunnel you won’t eat it if you body block they slug you guys have gotten used to easy tunnels and so what if it had synergy with head on don’t tunnel boom you won’t get hit with it
It wont change a thing though, I played back when 4 DS a match was still a thing and Killers still tunneled.
If you want to kill tunneling address the issues that makes Killing one player fast the best possible strategy, bHVR cant do that with a perk.
-
@VomitMommy said:
Devour hope doesn't really need a buff.
It is perk that can easily win you games, alone. It should be risky to use.
This is more like a generic hex issue with totem spawns. That should be fixed overall, not just for one hex.
If all hex totems activated on getting your first survivor hook, except the ones with different ability. Then bHVR would eliminate the critique that the Hex always gets cleansed in the beginning of the match and Survivors would have one less person to start looking for Hexes. Its honestly NOT a bad idea.

5 second stun active until you reach like a 16-20 meters of an exit gate once the gens are powered boom you got a perfect perk
Then it will be abuseable with Head on again AND loads of people will use it again. No Thanks.
-
bHVR obviously want to take their time with it and it has to be balanced as well.
They cant just buff DS like everyone wants either.
The problem with Old DS was: 1. everyone was using it. 2. people were still tunneled. 3. you could abuse it with head on.
Off the Record is so much better.

OR
We change NOED as I suggested and when it doesn't activate in endgame because all the killer did the whole match was camp and tunnel 1 survivor at a time, we can say "well, then you should have thought of that before you tunneled."
If the Killer is Camping, you have time to cleanse 5 totems and do 5 generators. Even more so if you use Reassurance.

Doing bones is so 2020 *rolls eyes*. But for real, it would be nice if doing bones were a viable side objection again, but for that, totems would need to be actually worth playing. That achievment where you have to cleanse 100 hexes or bless 20 would take ages in the current meta. I got them done when you saw hexes at least semi regularly, but these days hexes they are so odd and rare.
I cleanse them to avoid noed, while others don't cleanse and would rather complain about noed. Noed isn't the only perk you can avoid by cleansing them. if you feel its not worthwhile to cleanse against Noed, you are just objectively wrong. No away around it.
@IronKnight55 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3593464#Comment_3593464
I can tell you that in a lot of my games if we took the time to cleanse all 5 totems we’d die before the last gen is done. Especially if the killer is tunneling someone out early. NOED is mostly fine, but I would like the speed you gain from it removed.
Then maybe you need to speed up your Gen progression, approach your playstyle scientifically and see what you can improve.

You just need to practice with the killer, took me half of one match to finally start landing his dash.
Overall love the killer, super fun and a unique design with a pretty high skill celling and a moderate skill floor.
5 games isnt practise?
-
I have played like 5 games, I am yet to land a single hit while in slice and dice mode. Not easy to play at all.

Clown is very weak cause he may have a strong power if used correctly, he has no environment pressure.
Nerfing Clown's only good qualities will just destroy the fun for the remaining clown players.

Nobody enjoys curbstomping every match, there needs to be a "challenge", however, nobody wants to put themselves trough a darksouls level match every match just because they are better at the game than the average.
in OW2 terms, the SBMM is just going "oh you hit Platinum 5? hope you're ready to play versus Grandmasters and top 500s every so often"
If you are getting matches with those people, that means you probably play like those people. So there is no problem.

Boggles my mind that this is the only game where smurfing is encouraged by the community in order to have fun matches.
This is intended to be a casual game, forcing one side to sweat like they are playing for the Champions League just so they can have a fair chance at winning against a side that just Holds M1 on a gen is ridiculous.
This is false, you will be called out if you smurf or if you lose on purpose off stream to get better mmr.
But if your only enjoyment of the game is that you DOMINATE people who are not matched with you fairly then true.
However I just play calmly and I don't sweat, and I get fairly relaxing matches.
-
No please dont, the game feels just about right now. If people sweat too much they can just not and lose until their mmr is normal.
-
Just chase tho survivors out or alt-tab to Youtube.

Then the survivors are no longer punishing the killer for camping / tunneling.
Well, then you should have thought of that risk before you didn't cleanse the totems.
