  • Probably because its a way smaller problem than players make it out to be.

My guess is the amount of Blights who can take advantage of those addons is probably very small, at my mmr for instance, I never see a Blight with those addons and the blights I do see, not that epic. If the Blight addon problem was so serious as people say it is, it would be way more up bHVR's priorities. I think bHVR knows how big a problem it is and we dont.

  • If you break all 5 totems before endgame, this cant happen.

  • Yeah, bHVR should push this up the priorities, it would be fun to play with.

Removing the link would lead to worse matches overall - as you're not a new player, so you have a better understanding and knowledge of the game than a new player does.

Your MMR on other killers is not the same as on your main one, if you pick up a new character, but it will be more than that of a totally new player - which is completely fair, as you have map knowledge and game knowledge.

At the end of the day, the worst that can happen is that you lose a few matches whilst learning to play the new killer and that's not the end of the world and does not affect the MMR on your main killer. You can also hop into a custom match and practice against bots if you would prefer to learn the killer mechanics without playing against real survivors.

    Mandy...

At the end of the day, the worst that can happen is that you lose a few matches whilst learning to play the new killer...

its not a few matches, its many matches. You are forced to play SO MANY MATCHES against others while learning new Killers.

Which is why I never play Nurse, its not worth getting into.

Honestly OP has a point, and you guys should consider a special rule for Killers such as Nurse to alleviate this issue.

I don't understand your reasoning behind the Batteries Included nerf? For a perk like MFT to consistently go on for months and the combination with Hope as an end game perk trivializes their means of balancing their game. For killers to ultimately have to be in range of a COMPLETED generator to activate this perk and now you add another side effect that will make this perk never see the light of day is by disabling this perk in end game. You did this with Hex: Ruin. You did this with Corrupt Intervention. Survivors never have to be in range of a generator. All they need to do is to be injured for MFT to activate its inherited haste effect and Hope activates it permanently without any side effects whatsoever other than Survivors having to do their objectives, which gives survivors a total of 110% movement speed when they use both MFT + Hope.

"especially when paired with other Perks such as Hex: No One Escapes Death."

So it's okay for survivors to use both Hope and MFT? Gotcha.

    How is this logical?

Your mind is clouded by whataboutism, bHVR's decision could still be reasonable. a Killer being overpowered shows up easier in stats than a single survivor would when it comes to ratings.

  • The mori animations are easily flagged on Youtube. Dbd isnt your Family friendly Minecraft Server game.

If you must monetize on youtube, get the swear button sound effect out and block it over it when Chucky swears.

  • So if the Killer does his job the game becomes easier for Survivors? How is that fair?

  • Honestly if stacking speed boosts during the Endgame for Killers were such a problem, Just Nerf NOED remove the speedboost.

bHVR should not remove the potential of a new perk because of a bad synergy with an old one.

NOED could use the nerf, it has a high userate and it does not need the speedboost anyway.

  • bHVR literally wrote many different posts about this perk to explain why it was a problem, why don't you read them?

  • Why would I willingly approve of a feature that limits my freedom to push all my perk choices in one direction?

  • My main complaints with Nemesis are:

    1. He is my favorite violent RE Monster, yet his gameplay is short ranged tentacle strikes.
    2. Zombies do something sometimes, zombies do nothing most of the time.
    3. Infecting seems to be 3 times hitting, downing someone with the power takes SO LONG.
  • @Mandy said:

I think there's a misconception happening here, the MMR is not stricter, nothing has been changed with the way the matchmaking is being handled - that's the same as it has always been.

What it means is that players who'd reached the soft cap (whereby they couldn't go any higher), can now go higher, meaning they will be matched with other higher mmr players. This has no effect on newer players who were not at the soft cap.

You can confirm, there has been no changes to the mmr algorithm other than its usual movements?

  • The game takes practise to be good at, you cant expect to win easily after 4months.

  • @Mandy said:

Just want to manage some expectations here - the animation update is completely separate from Live Design. Animation is an entirely different department, so this does not mean that an update to Nemesis is in the works or planned.

Nemmy could use some buffs to make him a bit more threatening imo, like you get to level 3 and the ranged attack is longer.

Like Nemesis seems more like a ranged Killer in dbd than a brutal force, and Im using so much time trying to land that tentacle strike.

  • I think bHVR makes characters that look relatively normal, plain yes but normal. We don't have characters who would be cut from marble, which is good, no shade at the artists, I prefer the characters look normal.

Against the killers that were adept at facecamping, they can still prevent unhooks.

Bubba you still trade at best, Slinger can still hold a would-be unhooker on-harpoon to buy extra hook time. Against killers that were bad at it before, they're still bad at it. So nothing has changed.

what is wrong with trading now? what is the Killer even allowed to do?

  • Yeah, I gotta say Im sad that nobody at bHVR took our pleas for a Random perk option and put it ahead of the line.

Im sure its coming eventually, but right now we gotta wait. It just seemed so easy to implement tho.

  • cross-progression is decided by Sony, not bHVR.

  • Erhm... define bad in this context?

  • Uhm... would you like to justify any of the changes to the perks on this List?

  • Reports goes here: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=9329839132180

and the team is working around the clock to get them banned, but because DBD has a hacking industry its difficult to keep up so you will have hackers again and again at some point. The nature of modern video games.

  • Sounds like a bad idea, cause I don't like playing Doc, Doc is super weak. I dont need his power in SM. Why would I agree to this?

Sell me on the change, Health and annoyance is subjective and I am struggling in some matches.

Also why would I care if Survivors think I'm annoying to go against, Survivors are pretty annoying to go against too.

  • First of all, PTB lasts like a week. Second, people who get a proper learning experience need to play the PTB a lot. Most don't.

So its a problem that you have not proven exist to a large enough degree and your solution would get in the way of everything else about the PTB, like the PTB is really important, they need it to test their product and get a head start on public bugfixes.

How come it happens multiple times in a latch if you're not tunneling? Interesting. Specifically, what perks are you talking about exactly?

Im talking about all the perks that give endurance effects. I agree with OP that is annoying as all hell.

  • @myersgoestochurch said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3583664#Comment_3583664

Endurance is a counter in itself, you don't need a counter to a counter.

You do when it starts being used in everything and is seen multiple times during a match even when you are not tunneling.

  • It would be nice if Exposed went through Endurance, then Killers would at least have a counter.

But that wont happen because Endurance is currently the tools bHVR picked to deal with excessive tunneling.

This in turn is because I know bHVR has a game design need to make things the same and easily understandable.

But the game design of the game becomes a little bit of a mess then because you have all these perks and powers using the same effects and you end up with people being annoyed that every hit they do is meaningless. For instance, new MFT is pretty much a perk that works best vs legion now.

  • How can she have 'insane monitor'? Do you keep running into the drone beams?

  • problem with this idea is that SWF and discord exists. Those two would DESTROY a power like that.

  • I agree, unhooks should work like vaults, meaning once its started it cant be stopped.

The only reason its used is for Survivors to annoy the person on hook atm.

  • This isn't a debug issue, its just a mechanic design issue.

Yeah, its a shame bHVR has not addressed this.

I specifically asked for this around the time Knight was released, but they must be busy with other stuff to fix that.

    Again...

Shes a secondary objective killer. They always do extremely well because soloq struggles hard against those type of killers.

Also. Do you think a 4m difference in terror radius would have that much of an impact?

If it wont have much of a diffrence why change it?

  • If you think Pig needs a buff in comparison to Trickster, then check her recent killrates and playrates

    image.png image.png

    Pig was above average Killer.

  • Thanks I have seen this creature on a gif but was unable to figure out where its from, now I know.

    image.png

    Rather spooky.

  • If they did that, then that would tell you the Killer is face camping at any time, making perks like Kindred useless or unnecessary.

How do you identify that when there are perks like Slipper Meat and Luck related stuff lmao. If you're unlucky enough and you run that, you'd get penalized for not being lucky and dying trying to use your stuff. It can't be penalized, as sad as it is that it ruins the game for many people.

It would only kick in when you die immediately after failing to unhook yourself. We are not looking at your taking chances.

We are looking at other patterns like 1 down = attempts to unhook = proceeds to self sacrifice.

  • This would require alot of work since the game connects you to a server to play the game vs bots atm

  • I agree they should have added voice lines that that the Survivors can hear.

the same way I'm SO disappointed that Killers cant hear Nicolas Cage, at least when picking him up or hitting him-

  • Survivors don't need compensation for Killer buffs, they already got plenty from playing vs. under tuned tricksters and using MFT.

Enjoy the fun while It lasts.

  • It should be something that stacks up, just like how DC stacks up. If the user does it too much give them a penalty to queue-

  • Its not a nerf if I don't acknowledge its a nerf.

  • @Arsyn said:

I agree with you. The tunnel exits are confusing in maps that have more than one floor. I would love to see an improvement on this.

Nowadays, Xenomorph feels so unrewarded to play as. If you fail your tail hit you lose a lot of distance. The hit is very inconsistent, sometimes you can see how the tail goes through the survivor, but you still don't hit them.

The nerf was a little too much.

I would have loved for them to have used the acid for some of the character's abilities, it's iconic and in this case it's just a visual thing on the tail.... Like, COME ON BHVR, It's ALIEN, a SUPER franchise.

I would have loved for them to have used the acid for some of the character's abilities, it's iconic and in this case it's just a visual thing on the tail.... Like, COME ON BHVR, It's ALIEN, a SUPER franchise.

They should have made the acid blood, on pallet hits the pallet will be automatically destroyed after 7 seconds as a side bonus.

  • Seems like you have not read the Terms of Service, bHVR is going to nerf perks to a better place if they are too powerful.

How can you lose faith in bHVR when they are doing what you should know they would do.

Sure you can wish for bHVR to be infallible and demand they never release a perk that is good because it might be too good.

But that would not be reasonable.

  • As a Killer who play Trickster casually, its without question he needed buffs, has always been a slug to play and being easily outdone by a wall. Their suggested buffs changes everything that was complained about usually in trickster threads.

  • I'm sorry about your economic circumstances but disconnections that is not the Servers shutting off cant really be bHVR's issue.

If you use a system that is poorly optimized or maintained or has a bad connection you will dc. That's 100% on you.

  • Im a bit unsure what you are talking about here, there is a status effect that is called "Blindness" which means you cant see auras.

    image.png

But assuming its just a lil language barrier misunderstanding, perhaps what you mean is being blinded by flashlights or flashbangs. If you are asking how to avoid being blinded at a pallet or if the Survivors have a background player, the solution is the following:

    1. Lightborn. (a free hillbilly perk)
    2. Fake breaking the pallet. Approach it and then freeze and then turn your head down when they try to blind you.
    3. You can also just take the blind but use your ears to guide you after the Survivor, I do this a lot.
    4. Face a Wall when you pick up Survivor.
    5. Fake the pick up to make them come running.
    6. Keep the downed Survivor slugged. Meaning let them bleed on the floor until you have dealt with people who might come save.
    7. Destroy the Flashlight Survivor. (tunnel them dead, young one!)

    Good Luck.

  • I honestly don't have a problem with the mold that bHVR has for their Killers, I dont see why a Killer has to just break the mold to be interesting. The Killers have to fit into the game environment, sure that's what I'd expect. it does not make bHVR resting on the safety of 4.6 m/s it makes them create a Killer that is fit for the game that is designed for 4.6 m/s maps and Killer gameplay.

Sounds more like someone should go play a different game if they crave so much change instead of demanding that change in a game that works fine at the pace its going. Like look at Nurse, the way Nurse functions is counter to how the game works and she has been absolutely reckless on this game's balance. I don't want more Nurses, they might be fun sure, but they are a controversy superstar.

Yes, I'd agree. Trusting official sources over someone just posting on the internet is advisable. I'll be honest I didn't see all of your comments with the OP (I only have so much time!) And you did say "Googleing" in what I replied to.

Well, I cited my sources and I never made a generalization regarding all people who has this. I think im fine.

Because some people don't use stuff, not a reason not to implement it... Not everyone is using the visible heartbeat or color blind mode, is that a reason not to implement it? ^^

is that a reason not to implement it?

    Yes.

You make it sound like it didn't take pushing to get bHVR to giddy up and get that to the top of the priority list and get implemented. I recall also seeing a response from someone being paraded on social media as tone-deaf in regards to implementing that feature. It certainly was not feature that was gonna be added. The heartbeat was also found to be used by a lot of people too, I play with it constantly and I don't even have hearing problems. its just nice to have and see it as well.

Visual heartbeat was a good idea and there was a strong community push for it, built in discord has not convinced me yet.

Usually games have options to opt out of voice chats, so that's not really an argument, you can just turn the feature off...

It IS still part of the problem, like why would you implement a feature if people are just gonna turn it off.

    waste of time, use discord.
