  • Unknowns limbs would be useful when cleaning hard to reach places.

  • Slenderman is a cool Killer, One of my fav concepts is a special state that Slenderman freezes as image in place when observed but the Killer player moves like normal. meaning Survivors have to look away from their last image of Slenderman to figure out his new position, but they CAN stun his image with a pallet transfering the stun duration to the Killer player.

  • I dont really care myself if an achievement is rare to get, its still an achievement and its a fun and cool interaction.

I wish there were Survivors achievements regarding all Killer's Powers.

  • sounds like the experience of being in too high mmr pool, I have been there, but it rebalanced after a week of losing easily.

  • Get the magic item that causes you to see the aura of the Skeletons, then its much easier to avoid.

  • I am unsure if we are supposed to have that challenge active or it just counts it once for us.
Could be that its bugged, I had at one time, I saw the counter saying personal progress 2/2 (+3) which would indicate some more progress. But it does not show that anymore.

  • A the Nun chapter would be very fun.
What would be extra cool, would be if bHVR then also gave some female Killers fitting Nun outfits aswell.

  • I think you are touching on some great points here, the Franklin/Weave Attunement has really rustled the item system to its core.
The parts of this game that deals with item-drops is designed a long time ago and they leave me wanting for better systems.

    • The Survivor who drops an item should see the aura of that item within 24m.
    • Survivor side needs a perk that prevents dropping of items.
    • Killers should have a 10% chance to cause a survivor they hit to drop item as base.
    • Item and Killer Power addons should use item droppage increases and decreases.
  • @MudSpit83 said:

All killers should share offerings with each other and all survivors should share offerings and items with each other too.

Why wasnt this a thing years ago? It would be easier to grind for bloodpoints and leveling up characters. Who here agrees?

I agree, its annoying to be leveling a Killer and not have offerings on the Killer you play.
I see no reason why at least event offerings should not be shared between all characters of a role, even better shared by role.

If bHVR did that it would alleviate those pain points so well.

I mean, it sounds like you can crouch literally every time he flies over a window/pallet. That means you're able to nullify it consistently every single time.

I thought he was supposed to get collision back when the Fly was over anyway?

    If you have a window.

  • Another great idea would also be integrate optional Randomization for each perk slot so people can play Chaos Shuffle in regular matches too if they wish.

  • It looks great, paper clip art is amazing.

  • Vecna's power does not work perfectly in every instance, this is one.
No Power should work perfectly in every instance.

  • The Killer role is not supposed to be nice, so this would be counter to the design of the game.
So if you want to be a nice Killer, you must learn to keep track of survivor hook states in your head.

  • Have you tried to have another person with another PC stay at your house to replicate the problem on their rig?

That would quickly determine if the problem if your computer or a problem with the connection.

I'm a relatively newer player with 600 hrs and I still don't have every killer perk unlocked, and all I play is killer. It is pretty daunting.

Can I ask you, Why you want to unlock every Killer perk? Im asking to the reason why you do it?

Technically more like 3 million, because otherwise you need to level the perks up again… on top of that basic perks usually take an entire cycle at least, if you don't have the other characters level 3 as well it will take far longer to get all the perks.

And considering how many characters there are... The point is not that you need to buy all of them when you start playing, but that you will constantly need to put points in again and there is no end in sight. It definitely got better, but the grind is still massive... P3 every character on both sides and you have like 180. 000.000 BP possibly more and that is just the basic to get all perks on level 3. Given a good game outside of events might reward you 50-80.000 BP that is a huge amount. (Also yes P3 is basically required because otherwise you need to level up all perks to level 3 on all characters, which takes way more points than just doing it that way.) and that is if you only want the perks, I don't think it is minimal... But yes ofc it is not mandatory, playing the game is opt in, using perks is opt in, having perks for decent builds is opt in, the issue is how much effort is needed to just have that stuff... That is what people mean when they complain about the grind being massive.

Sure having for 4 perks to use as the base and everything else is opt in, however the perks you have in the beginning tend to not be too good... Base perks on killer are pretty bad, and those you get from the first 5 killers are also not too good... If you just want 1 good build you will still need to get 3-4 characters, because the good perks are kind of spread among the characters.

Technically no, leveling up 3 perks 2 levels each is not a huge cost. Its a brain trick, assuming the worst cost for leveling up 3 times to get those perks its 150 000 bps you would only see a benefit to going to P3 after 13,33 characters. Then again, most people play on a few characters so it does not really matter what perks Adam has because I'm never gonna play him.

Facts are you only need 1 million bps per character now, any other unlocking's benefit is highly questionable. Like how much value did I really get for unlocking Unbound on Nurse, like come on.

Furthermore I dont share your view that so many perks are useless.

  • The grind is not long in dbd anymore, its a million bps per character for their perk unlockable anything above that is cosmetic.
Any new player wont be buying all the chapters on day 1 anyway.

I don't think this is a problem for new players, there are SO many ways to get bloodpoints, rift, tome etc.

I think this is only a problem for the type of player who thinks they need ALL the PERKS to survive, you dont.
The grind is entirely OPT-IN and the part you have to do for just the perks is minimal. And ontop of that excess use of the top perks will push your MMR higher than your skill can maintain. So its not even a good idea to get the top perks.

  • I dont think a scooby doo chapter should contain a new Killer, it should just be Scooby doo theme'd skins for all Killers instead.
And add Scoobydoo as a Survivor NpC to follow the Scooby Doo Survivors around.

  • You know, after getting window blocked and Survivors re-creating the Shack pallet, lil me undoing one perk seem justified.

  • Whatever they do to Trickster in the future,
I dont think idd enjoy a slower Trickster as the reason we asked for that was for indoor levels.

  • Its getting a nerf soon, but its only slight. The trick is to not be greedy with the pallet, to bait out the spell for early game gen rush.

  • Killer Power reminds me of OG Freddy's Power, but as a skill-shot?

@Emeal see if this is "consensus" enough for you about the Knight situation.

    @topic

Another killers that might need some tweaks are

Singularity: the camera get blocked by leaves and very small objects. Need some changes and other small QoL

Hag: still need something to adress the "S Tech" that makes her almost unplayable against anyone who knows this tech.

Trickster: Maybe Memento Blades basekit or at least some form of acceleration in the knife throw speed

Dredge: Lockers are too annoying to deal with and have a horrible placement in many maps (this is something related to Huntress and Trickster too).

Legion: Some small buffs and QoL changes.

Myers: Tier III should give some advantages against pallets, maybe shorter stun and faster break speed.

Anyway, if BHVR follow the trend that they did with killer in the last midchapter i think we are going to have some very nice changes as killers can become less addon dependant.

Consensus usually means a lil more than 5 guys.

    We hadn't shown any toxicity.

I think I need a video testimony from the Killer before I believe claims like this anymore.

Does it really matter though? Both sides can and do initiate toxic behaviour even if not directly provolones and it’s up to the devs to take away these tools if the toxic behaviour is crossing a line. That line is of course subjective but the devs said that it’s not against game rules to bleed someone out as the game will reach a ‚natural‘ end.

New mechanic like the finisher mori - if implemented right - can be a good way to avoid this kind of toxicity. Just hopefully it will not introduce new unfun mechanics

That is exactly what I don't believe anyone who makes that claim, but this is besides the point of the post.
This problem isn't a problem of toxicity, its a problem of enabling toxicity and bad behaviour.

  • We hadn't shown any toxicity.

I think I need a video testimony from the Killer before I believe claims like this anymore.

I think you may get your wish, depending on what elements of "finisher mori" that bHVR picks to implement, it could very well mean that Killers cant slug everyone, because that would automatically trigger a mori event and then end the game.

Come lets rewatch the broadcast again: https://www.youtube.com/live/GIwtIGmevQE?feature=shared&t=3455

Now they don't specifically say that it activates on two downed Survivors, but it could be easily implemented in a way that checks for abilities to get up and if none, it just ends the game. @BasementKing Would that be a solution to your issue?

This was already discussed a lot on this forum. Its close to a consensus that Knight has some issues like gamebreaking bugs, silly counterplay, some cheese strats and addon dependancy and its on the weaker end of the killer rooster.

As being OP, i don't think so. It would be the same as the Knight but with a faster depoly of the desired guard. Today we can do this by popping a guard, hit and get to other one, but its so boring to do this that its easier just to deploy the "wrong one" and just do the chase the way its possible.

Edit: I've made a topic on some suggested changes for the Knight were i deeply discuss his problems and how i would solve them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3737187#Comment_3737187

Well, at least i would use all the guards: Assassin for ranged snipes, Carnifex for some chases and Jailer when i need info or to hold an area. Also, keep in mind that with individual cooldowns you wouldn't be able to just spam a single guard, but would need to circle at least between two of them.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3737251#Comment_3737251

I can understand what the devs have thought in the release, but seeing how Vecna plays it feels a much better design than the Knight original one. Also it would fit better his theme as his lore, as the guards are his loyal servants, each of them fulling a specific role inside his army.

Consensus? My guy your post has 3 upvotes. You call that consensus?

  • You need to explain why Knight needs a rework first. and then we need to discuss all the ways this can turn into OP town.

  • I don't think anyone is gonna excuse your tone, you are just making it really hard to understand your problem with the game and determine what would be a solution to the problems. Its a very hard to read that, you could do with being a lot more constructive.

  • I disagree, I think Vecna is fine.

are you even listening to me? I'm not saying I would do that and even if I wanted to do that it doesn't matter. I'm saying that since doing this is indeed scummy and pathetic having this as one of the 2 only things you can do to hunt it is miserable and mad designed, I have no idea how did you do to come out with this answer to my argumentation

Apologies, It was confusing to have you list of examples you come up with if they are something you would not do as a solution when there is a solution already. You will get it eventually, like is with ALL Achievements.

I am currently trying to get an achievement myself in another game. The chances of this achievement is 0.00288 every 17hours.

I wont cry about it, its a challenge and you can make your choice to accept it or not. I commend bHVR for making some challenges that are actually something you have to fight for when the chance is there. Its a cool idea and it gives people something to hope and strive for.

Unless, do you have like a real strong personal part of yourself that says you must get this achievement, like right now?
Is it called Achievement addiction? Completionism? Is that why scratches you in this? You dont have to share if you dont want to.

  • The problem there lies in that the Survivors can't control the Killer's movement.

You can its called body blocking.

With the addons it's worse, but even without the addons I would argue Mage Hand is just a bit too strong at the moment.

If you ask me, a movement speed of 3.18 m/s during the Mage Hand cooldown would probably be perfect.

Seems fine as it is right now. bHVR will know when they compile statistics on Vecna. if hes overtuned they can prove it.

  • @ad19970 said:

Just don't be disappointed when they nerf Mage Hand because I do think it will need a small nerf. But otherwise I agree, playing with him has been a great time.

is that with or without addons cause if I dont get the Mage Hand timing within 10% accuracy it does nothing. and I have not experimented with addons yet.

pov: it's 2026 and only achievement you miss it's this one. nobody plays lich and you can't do anything to hunt it other than stream snipe lich players or trade win with friends.
This is not a (I'm not able to do something other people managed to do) this is just bullshit design, you can literally do nothing to hunt this achievement other than the 2 scummy things I listed above, would you call this good design?

Would you really stream snipe to get an achivement? like what.

  • @Odwolf said:

An achievement should be a challenge not a dice roll. I hunt for achievements in all the games I play and a bad achievement design is when it's almost entirely dependent on luck. It should be challenging in the sense that it's not easy but you have the control to retry for it which is not the case with this terrible achievement.

All achievements are based on luck to some degree.
All achievements can be grinded out eventually too.

  • That is why they call it an Achievement, you did something few people easily do.

I personally like hunting for weird achievements if I'm bored with the game.

  • Just get the magic items to gain haste when he casts it.

  • He's using them wrong, you need to use them on survivors inside buildings.

Or use them as a distraction to get closer to survivors.

  • Its such a shame for bHVR if they remove it.
Its been the best mode for a long time, so much freedom to not be bound by annoying metas.

Maybe make Chaos Shuffle that non competitive mode people have been asking for?

Just because one addon is the best does not mean its strenght is that far off compared to all the others though... Both sides has dumb stuff that significantly decrease the other sides chances of winning, but I don't think that this addon is one of them.

I mean sure, there are different viable strategies, but that does not mean they are all equally viable, that is not a thing in most games, there is always the best way to do it and it is probably impossible to make all of equal strenght.

Family photo is not an imbalanced addon though, because if it was making it basekit would be desastrous... Think of tombstone piece for example.

I can agree with the last statement... Many killers suffer from poor addon design where you are almost required to run a specific addon because otherwise it feels horrible, similar to range on doctor before his buffs.

Im trusting bHVR to examine the use over other addons and its win potential, if its even half what I see other singularities use,
then it would be a problem. The fact that other addons also have problems is not a factor in why I write this.

  • @Archol123 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/415870/soma-family-photo-is-the-most-unhealthy-addon-for-singularity

There will always be a best in slot addon. The issue with family photo is rather that it is almost required to make proper use of the teleport, otherwise you just barely catch up to the survivor during overclock. It would therefore be quite nice to have it at least partially basekit, the addon itself is not unhealthy, it is just that it being required on him is unhealthy, addons should be choices and not requirements to make proper use of the power.

"Addons should be additions to the Power, not actually making the power better than not using that addon."

Basically every single numbers change addon does exactly that though…

There will always be a best in slot addon.

Yes, I know this. This is bad.

Making sure no killer has a single "best addon" is key for a few reasons. First off, balanced gameplay keeps things fair and fun. If one addon is way better than the rest, it can make matches feel unfair and frustrate survivors who feel like they can't win.

Having no dominant addon also means killers can try out different strategies, which keeps the game fresh and interesting. This variety lets survivors come up with counter-strategies, making the game deeper and more complex. It's way more fun when you're not just seeing the same tactics every match.

Balanced addons help keep players around longer. When the game feels fair and varied, both killers and survivors are more likely to keep playing, which stops the community from getting bored or annoyed. It also makes adding new content easier since well-balanced addons won't mess things up when new killers or survivors are introduced.

From a bloodpoint economy angle, balanced addons make players want to invest in more items, which supports the game's revenue. Players are happier when the stuff they buy feels worth it, a crucial point.

bHVR ought to take more care of addons which are so good or deemed essential for current play.

  • Honestly the tools to prevent Tunneling should be in the Survivors not unhooking next to the Killer, or trying to take a hit after being unhooked. or waiting until the Killer is chasing someone else. Rather than punishing the Killer for playing the game.

Luckily the perk is nerfed next patch, cause bHVR could see it was too much.

  • Slugging Perks? Oh no… ohnonononono.

  • yeah, please bHVR implement a perk randomizer.

  • Badham has 4 buildings each with annoying windows, they feel awful to run as Killer.
Every living moment in this map is looking at their Survivor running into one of the other buildings wasting seconds.

  • People often go afk until the game starts, you system requires them to stay and vote. This will not go over smoothly.

My solution would be to increase the rarity of map offerings to Ultra Rare to significantly reduce the rate at which they are gained and then just wait for people's store of Map Offerings to run dry. Boom! Now choosing where to go is a lot rarer.

  • Me too, I love Chaos Shuffle soo much. As a Killer main is just SO REFRESHING to not be forced to play with the Meta all day.

  • @Alionis said:

Common (mis)associations do not validate it. It's nice that you found guides on wikis before, but that's not where those should have been. The absence of guides on the wiki is also not denying people anything, that's a disingenuous shift of blame there.

Hard disagree to that. Also you are misinterpreting my point, im not shifting blame. Its an entirely new set of blame.
Because they turn away people who come looking for information, expecially when other wikis are more accommodating.
