You can always increase value of single BP. Basically reduce BP amount needed per 1 prestige.

I personally play to grind BP, so I am not motivated to play if noone has at least 50% bonus. I miss old BBQ…

True, but this comes with a bunch of complications, blood point economy, tons of items, 4 brand new parts or massive supply of double battery flashlight combos. This may have a negative effect on player numbers, personally its bad enough to see that after that massive bloodpoint event last year. If it can be done without disrupting other parts I think bHVR would do it instantly.

We are also assuming a player needs all perks unlocked to enjoy the game, which is false

if you don't want players who want/needs it talk for majority, don't do it yourself.

It's false for you. You have exactly same right to talk for majority as OP does, which is 0. All you can talk about is your experience, but you always like to talk as you are majority in posts about BP.

I know I am extreme example, but I personally want to have unlocked everything.

I would say you are one of extremes too and don't mind this grind at all.

I can talk at least for 4 people tho, because 3 my friends, who started with me, all dropped DBD with grind as only reason.

Pointing out that the majority isnt collector players, isnt speaking for the majority.
I have not denied anybody the right to post or their opinion or pretended as if I should have a say on that matter.

Secondly I don't say this because its my opinion, I say it because there are many pitfalls and issues with messing with incentives.

A quick boost to satisfy a few collector players can have long term repercussions for all players, Game Design is a fascinating subject. Many games have tried these things before and its been studies and theorized, I want to base my understanding on that knowledge not what I internally want. We can discuss these things if you want.

At the end of the day, I want bHVR to make good decisions and that comes from well reasoned discussions which we can have here.

  • Frankfurt is for me rn.

Can you lads check it for me?

Oh damn, you hate people man. People don't want to grind hundred or thousand of hours.

I have not said anything like that, so let me clarify: I don't hate collector players, not at all.

Hatred is not seeing a difference in perspective, what the problem here is when you make post here saying "BP gains are so bad, especially for new players" and those new players are not any new players, but new collector players who want to unlock everything or every perk at its max tier, then its false cause while many players believe they need that, they absolutely don't.

Sure its not nice to point at other people who play different ways or point out what you see wrong with their style, I did not mean to talk down to you or any collector player and for that I apologize, my point is it you cant assume that is the new player and even if they wanted it, its not necessarily something they need.

That's true, but we all aim for "purple" perks, which definitely will take more than just p1.

Now i have all my characters about p11, so i have every perk unlocked.
If there is new DLC i still need to buy free perks, like resilience etc. It takes like 40-45 lvls of a prestige to get it all.

If you need to buy every perk lvl from all 44 more characters it will take so much more BP and you will get to p3 anyway ;)

we all aim for "purple" perks,

No we don't, we just get them eventually, some do certainly. But if your enjoyment of a game comes from having everything unlocked then you are a collector not a gamer in my opinion. Certainly that should not determine the gain of bps for all.

Sure its easy to think that you need it, but have you even tried to measure every possible time perk value was obtained where a green or yellow would not have been equally sufficient? I have and the times a purple perk matters is like 1 in too many.

In short, there is no reason why the standard of casual practise of progressing in DBD should be dictated by one type of players.

  • One major error tho, You only need to get a character to P1, as you can level up perks from there individually. P3, only gets you savings on like 6 level ups for each character of that type which is good for veterans, but not needed for casual players.

In essence you can slash your numbers in 3.

We are also assuming a player needs all perks unlocked to enjoy the game, which is false.
Some players cant sit still if they have not unlocked everything, but they are not the majority.

  • But the leveling up of characters is almost entirely independent of the gameplay, the times a perk really comes up as a difference in games is absurdly little, just a few percent in the in the end. The reason the bloodweb exist is to give you something to do while waiting to be in a game, its not the main entertainment, that is what the trials are for. Its just there to keep you entertained while you wait and get stuff for the next trial.

Being bored of the game due to bloodweb is like getting bored talking to an NPC in an RPG, or bored because you need to find a trainer to buy the next level spell in WoWClassic. If your friends get bored of the bloodweb, tell them to alt-tab or watch a video on their phone while you guys wait in queue.

A new player only has to gain 10 million BPS to unlock everything that could potentially mean anything for all characters they have by default in trials. but the thing is you dont need all perks, you infact dont need any. New players should worry about their Skill as players in the game and stop chasing the next new big perk that they NEED TO WIN. its a waste of their money when a new perk drops. Like I don't even think bHVR developers would approve of that attitude and they make money of this.

  • Accurate, 100%, based suggestion.

Also while you are at it bHVR, add a 5th slot for equitable Moris. We have been waiting too long for this imo.

  • Killer Instinct should never be told to the Survivor, but Aura ABSOLUTELY should, however it can be difficult to suddenly nerf such an large part of the Killer perk roster, I imagine it would be a big risk from bHVR's side. I'm sure they have considered it many times.

But I think 2v8 shows it can be done.

No, not quite. There are certain scourge hooks that only activate WHEN/WHILE you hook, like pain resonance, monstrous shrine, hangman's trick.

As is now, only floods of rage and gift of pain benefit.

Ohhhh im a fool, my bad lol

  • I mean think of it, if that bug is allowed to stay then EVERY HOOK is a Scourge Hook at the cost of 2 perks.
I think Jagged Compass is meant to just increase the number of hooks OR give you a hint.

  • Agreed 1v4 feels very rough coming back to it.

  • Yeah bHVR is in quite a pickle, because the well design and higher action potential of 2v8 is wrecking havoc to the normal game modes. I think if bHVR can make 1v4 atleast as pleasant to play as 2v8 it wont be an issue. luckily they have time, they seem to be dragging out the full release of 2v8, good ammount of time to get the other mode in order perhaps? We will see.

  • I agree the Killer has some issues to fix, but the package bHVR has delivered is pretty extensive once you can get into it.
but 100% the way selecting search area or game object is made should be one of the first things bHVR needs to fix.

Once bHVR can fix up her unfortunate control scheme, then they have a good slate to balance from.
Even tho I personally think shes just right atm.

  • More dog skins is great, but bHVR is really not doing their skin options in a great way. Linked skins are not popular.
This all comes down to them wanting to do skin options in a very simple way and they are doing what they can within the system.
But they should Expand the skin options and give us control over every little slot of changeable cosmetics.

And they also need to make a slot for Moris, EVERY GUY I talk to is saying they Hope bHVR will do equipable Moris.
But that day has not come yet. Please bHVR tell me whats going on on the inside.

I would love to play the Legendary Houndmaster skin but with original Snug.

Or we just hope that bhvr stops thinking being perma-broken is a fair tradeoff, and just remove no mither, cause it just hurts the team.

I dont think that is on the table, im trying to massage bHVR into a compromise.

I was just thinking because all our other gen regression perks have been nerfed terribly. I figured a 2% increase wouldn't be too strong. In my humble opinion.

Im sure bHVR is watching the numbers for Surge.

  • Surge is one of the most used Perks, 11% according to nightlight.gg

Why would it need a buff?

  • It will go on sale at some point

first buy cosmetics are for people who have the money to splurge or when you see something you just GOTTA OWN.

    like naughty bear :D

  • Developers could just check the win rate of the Survivor side on Eyrie of Crows, no need to have map offerings to tell us that.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/433820/after-2-nights-of-houndmaster-i-have-a-suggestion-regarding-her-controls

    I agree 💯! Yes.

Also - what do you think about a button that allows you to call back Snug early from his “Search” if you need him?

Also the cooldown for her power is odd because in you have to wait a while for the dog to come back before you even get the cooldown to start for your power.

100% a callback button would be great too, though a failed command does need some punishment, I suppose its enough punishment that Snug has to path find back, I HAVE seen him get stuck sometimes.

  • I can agree to the idea that it DOES seem silly that UVX does not detonate on impact, I wonder what the developers had in mind?
I would prefer it to be on hit detonation, so they must have decided on a why not? maybe it was just too powerful in playtests.

  • I think bHVR is cooking something, you see the great response to 2v8 which has such a mechanic.

Looks at reworks of Haddonfield, Borgo and Garden of Joy.

Yeah...Hope for the best, assume the worst. Don't have expectations, just hopes.

    Being hopeful, beats negativity everyday.
I need to become CEO at bHVR, expand the map team three times as big. I want 3 maps a year.
Spend money to make money style.

  • I hope we get a new Swamp map with that mansion in it, 2 floors and an attic. lets make it a real house to chase in.
Please dont disappoint us with the coming Swamp rework, go above and beyond map team.

  • @Marc_123 said:

It is a bit clunky overall.

But i still think there should have been a protect command - where my dog protects me against pallet stuns or attacks a flashlight blinder :-)

That would be sick, it would be the perfect counter if you make Snug protect a hook you want to hook a survivor on.
    Its a lovely idea.

  • Honestly a baffling decision to me, the PTB Houndmaster TR and Chase theme had clarity and elegance, and then new one just has a loud deep trumpet blast now for some reason in the 2nd layer of the Terror radius. Please no, Why do you do this? I don't understand it. Please return layer 2 to PTB.

Secondary point is the new chase theme which is just a lot louder and have loads more instruments added, but I really liked the accordion solo that was in the PTB, it was something you could hum along with while concentrating and not as obnoxious as the new one.

    PTB:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMWWxYSdUlA

    LIVE:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAMOuyuYQ3A

I wish you could state the exact reasons why her Theme has to be in this new way, does the theme need to obscure other sounds, like tell us whats going on when you make changes like this please.

  • I hope bHVR adds a perk at some point that causes all Survivors who have it share hookstages. That is all.

  • Whats the source for this?

  • @Devil_hit11 said:

i think they should reduce his uncloak speed to 1.5 seconds in regular mode.

Best I can agree too on the basis of no evidence is 2 seconds and the destruction of all Swift Hunt addons.

  • maybe you should not spam the button well before you even reach the pallet?

  • Please bHVR its so frustrating to see a brilliant game be lacking in this particular area, sure the problem might not be super big in the grands scheme of things, but when it happens it really sours the night. Not only that, you REALLY ought to respect the time of the Survivors who play your game more, but that's just my opinion. Like asking any player to be slugged for this long during the ending of the game is ABSURD. Please.

  • Totally agree, despite the Hatch as an escape being part of the problem, its not necessarily the reason or part of the solution.

There really is not need for a fancy solution to this problem, just a simple new mechanic.

    • When only one Survivor other survivor is alive and you are downed, wait 30 seconds to speed bleed out and die.

Either way the random nature of the Hatch spawns will decide, its unacceptable to let the downed survivor be slugged for too long.

Its a question about moving the game along in a reasonable time for all individuals, its why I down and hook people usually right away, because I know how mentally not stimulating it is to be slugged for 240sec. Its a really negative experience, so can we please not?

  • If you feel that way about your gameplay, you can run Agitation.
What is it that is unacceptable about normal gameplay that running agitation must be present in every normal gameplay?

  • not that I wanna say its a bad idea, isnt the ambiguity of the whole entity universe that anyone can be anything they wanna be?
or have I misunderstood the Lore about the infinite Terra's?

  • its been like some of the most active game nights with my buddies in a long long time.
and I'm usually a Killer Main, has played so much Survivor. its great fun.

    bad ping=advantage for killers

that shouldn't even be a thing. bad ping shouldn't give you an advantage.

What is your source for this claim?

I would much rather see bHVR tell us since they must have numbers on this, checking all games where one side has much larger ping than the other, if the game is skewed to one side or another.

I can't tell you which one it was off the top of my head. It may have been on Reddit. A question was asked in regard to killers body blocking survivors in corners, and the idle crow suggestion was made to alleviate the problem. Someone from BHVR said they are not planning to make any changes, as players can report that behaviour.

I can't remember their exact response word for word. I just remember reading it and wondering why they wouldn't even commit to looking at a fix for later on down the line.

Yeah, sources are important for everything, not just politics.

    image.png

I found this from December 13 AMA last year.

  • @TieBreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3841780#Comment_3841780

As far as BHVR not ignoring the issue, in one of their Q&A livestreams, BHVR was asked to add a fix similar to what you suggested and said no. They said that because it is a reportable offense, there's no need for them to fix the issue. Since then it has been radio silence. I'm all for being polite, but I have no positivity on this issue, seeing as BHVR has washed their hands of the problem.

BHVR telling players to just deal with this nonsense, because we can report the player is such a bad take. Sure, there's plenty of terrible garbage that happens in the game, but apparently it's fine because players can wait the match out, record it, file an in-game report, then go sign up for a BHVR account, fill out the form and upload the footage. BHVR seems to think that this is a much better solution to the problem, when compared to a suggestion like the one you offered up.

If in that Q&A stream they outright refused to address the issue then that is bad. I would need to see the context.

  • @TieBreaker said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/432873/the-body-blocking-problem-needs-to-be-raised-up-priority-at-bhvrs

I agree that this needs fixing, but I'm not sure why you are thanking BHVR for taking the time to address this issue. This complaint has been made for years at this point. Last time I checked, their advice was to just report the player. They have said nothing else on the matter, so it's safe to assume that they have no plans to fix it, as they think that players will do the work for them, by reporting the offender and sending them video proof.

I do find it obnoxious that BHVR refuses to implement a fix for this, purely because if you provide video evidence, BHVR will ban the player. My issues with this approach is that it forces players to deal with gameplay abuse instead of stopping it from happening in the first place, and if you can't record footage then your report is absolutely worthless.

    @turksmall236 said:

Nothing will be done about it sadly. BHVR is very stubborn, they love players griefing each other for some weird reason.

Well there are many reason I want to thank them for looking into the issue, first, being nice goes a long way and second bHVR isn't refusing to address this issue. They have never said anything to this effect. The reason is probably that its a very small issue and it keeps getting sidelined for more important issues. This is has been the case before for many features and likely what's up still.

Please spare me your negative strategy to providing feedback as that isn't something I can use for anything, I get you are frustrated but that wont help much, only showing support for ideas you think would help or features you want does and campaigning for buzz around a subject. It literally cant help anything you telling me that.

it’s always gonna be a problem comeback mechanics makes games reward bad gameplay.

its a videogame, not a school exam.

  • I find as Killer you need to guard gens more than in normal.
I often see Killers walk past me while Im on a gen 2nd layer TR in my ear, but they are too focused on a Sable or something else.
I think when Killers learn how to play again, the anti-snow ball feature wont be as much of a problem.

  • 2v8 mode is just twice the action of the normal match, the bad players will show fast, you gotta adapt your strategy.

It's a figure of speech, you can use "I promise" in a figurative way and have it mean "I bet", "I'm sure" in informal English. This is kind of a silly comment tbh, would you have asked me how much money I was planning to spend had I used "I bet" instead?

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3840020#Comment_3840020

Oh absolutely, I know it won't straight out solve the problem for the same reason you stated. I do think it would considerably improve them though, and that's better than nothing

Although "I promise" is not typically considered a figure of speech; rather, it is a literal phrase used to convey a commitment or assurance. When someone says "I promise," they are making a pledge to fulfill what they are saying. In English rhetoric, figures of speech generally involve expressions that convey meanings beyond their literal sense with either irony/sarcasm or emphasis.

I know what you mean, yet even though I took it literally you never answered my question, How do you know your solution will work? Literal or for emphasis's sake does not matter, the question still stands.

  • and I promise that will improve the killer queue waiting times considerably

How can you promise this? Are the the CEO of Survivor? How do you know this will be the case?
I almost want bHVR try it, to see it not work. If it wasn't a wasteful to try every other idea out.

1 … 24 25 26 27 28 … 112
