Those have to be factors with regards to balancing because when determining whether something needs to be re-balanced, you need the context to figure out HOW it might need to be rebalanced.
Also, source on "They don't count dc matches when compiling these stats?"
If those are significant factors then they would have mentioned them when justifying why a killer doesn't need a buff. Because just about every killer can be affected by all those factors. Michael is no different.
The devs said so. @Peanits @MandyTalk can confirm this. They never factor in dc matches when compiling in these stats.
-
The only real answer is you just need to get immune to it. Develop a thick skin and shrug it off. Toxicity is very much a core part of this game, and the only way to enjoy it is to get immune to it.

That's not strawmanning. I'm not using the chart bit to argue that your overall points regarding Freddy are wrong. I am saying the chart bit is not good evidence and that's it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1704199#Comment_1704199
Just off the top of my head, Dc rates, perk builds, add-on usage, SWF, offerings, maps.
They don't count dc matches when compiling these stats. They didn't mention perk builds, swf, offerings, maps etc when justifying Nurse's low kill rate. They just talked about her high skill cap which makes her hard to master.
So I don't believe any of those were factors.

Those ARE the stats they are referring to, though. They're not just using this very basic chart that lacks a lot of factors as their measuring stick for balance.
This is your point of view so please explain it to me with some examples. What kind of internal factors are they neglecting to mention for Mikey when utilizing his kill stats as a reason to deny him a buff?
-

They have internal stats that give a much more detailed picture of how things are faring with regards to balance. It's not just "oh, he's got X kill percentage? He's fine."
They didn't mention any internal stats. The rationalization was Mikey is bringing home the kills based on his stats so he's in a good spot and doesn't need changes.
With the Nurse's stats they explained her high skill cap and how so many people try and fail with her because she is hard to learn. That's why her kill rate is so low. Especially for console players who make up the majority of the player base. That makes sense for her stats even though she is the strongest killer.
They offered no such insights into Mikey's stats when denying him a buff simply because the stats say he brings home a high kill rate. They also said his power is unique (so are most killers even the weak ones). They said they always get positive feedback about Mikey from the community. That I believe is true since most people seem to love playing as or against Mikey. Cannot say the same for Freddy.

He very much is and the chart above confirms it.
Didn't BHVR say not to draw any conclusions based on the chart?
If you watched that Q&A stream my question was the very first one that was answered. The one about updating/buffing Myers. The answer I was given was they looked at Mikey's stats and saw he was in the top half of performing killers. Just like on those charts. So based on that they don't feel he needs any changes to his base kit.
So why can they use those stats to make a judgement like that about Myers but not Freddy?
-
As you all can imagine I would love this Dweet crow charm. I spent 2 hours watching a fog whisperer's stream with the in game store open trying hopelessly to get one.
I eventually gave up. Its an awful and frustrating way to do it. I wasn't having fun trying. It was just a waste of time. Too many people jumping on a code each time.

The biggest issue with Myers is that he is extremely outdated and boring. There's no reason to really play him when there's Ghostface, Plague or Oni (I consider those killers to be all better versions of Myers, but in different ways). I guess people play gim because they like the character or because he's so meme popular.
Not for me. I love playing him, and find him way more fun and effective than Ghostface. I have snowballed so many matches with a single tier 3. I love the versatility of the builds you can do on Mikey. Scratched mirror is probably the most fun I do ever have playing any killer build.

Look at the response I gave to johnny and the response i gave to moonshroud. Good day
Your response is factually wrong. They said they have no intention of touching his base kit. They feel he is in a good spot based on his stats and community feedback. They said they might, emphasis on might, look at some of his problematic add ons in the future. Their words.
Your interpretation of them is just that. Your spin on it.
-
Holy dramatics, Batman. All they said was that they MIGHT look at SOME of his add ons that are considered problematic in the future. That's all. Probably going to do something with tombstone since its the only Myers add on you hear any complaints about.
Here people are thinking he is getting nerfed. Take a chill pill.

Same. Unless you got a four man squad of immersed Blendettes.....

Big Disclaimer: As the Devs have stated, DO NOT base any of your arguments with this as evidence. As stated these stats are not perfect for example Nurse having the lowest kill rate even though she is arguably the best killer in the game.
That's funny, because when they answered my question about Myers at the beginning, Ethan the game designer said he looked at Mikey's stats when he got this question, and it reflected that chart above. Mikey is in the top half of performing killers, and therefore they don't feel he needs any buffs to his base kit.
-
That was my good self who asked that Myers question. In fairness they said SOME of his add ons may be problematic and might be addressed in the future.
-
Yeah I'm not surprised by the low Demo stats for pick rate. I rarely see him.
-
Nice to see my boy Mikey holding his own.
-
They mean get 5 hooks. Its just phrased badly.
-
Is this for the Dwight crow charm?
-
Probably the Halloween blight event in 2018.
-
I kind of like Michael's. I can imagine him saying to himself "Look at my pipe. Its so pretty".
-
All I can say is will all the distressing Docs please come out to play.
-
I love getting it as killer for obvious reasons. Especially as I am a Mikey main and its just a big open area that's great for stalking.
Hate it as survivor.

Yep mine was very similar.

I don’t like his prestiged body but the knife and face are just neat-o.
Ditto. I love the blood dripping knife and the blood splash on his mask. Its awesome.

Nice to see some positivity.
I love this game. I love my Dweet. I love being able to play as my favorite horror icon, Daddy Myers.

Thanks! I just wanted to know it is possible. That means that should I break into 3 there won't be another quantum leap in difficulty. :) I've almost gotten to 3 so I know If I keep grinding I'll pull it off. Now can I grind my way down to 1 before Halloween.... I'm going to do my best. It is a relief to hear that it is possible. I'm not on your level but with enough curb-stompings, I'm bound to improve. :)
You can do it. For me wins with Mikey feel very rewarding. Making all those survivors believe in the boogeyman.
-
Red rank Myers main here. Unless my matches were a quick slug fest, and I rarely play that way as its boring, I usually always pip.
But then again I couldn't care less about pips. There is no difference playing killer at rank 1 or 4.
-
Generally its been pretty good.
-
When you really need to. I hate it when survivors just immediately drop a pallet and run off. They don't even try to use the loop. Especially when they are not even injured.
-
The only thing they have in common is they can both punish the killer. If the killer is being looped for a prolonged period then gens will pop. Likewise if the team is smart they'll pop the gens if the killer decides to camp a hook.

Record some videos and post them.

Leave the DC penalty in. I have experienced less dc's over the last couple of days since it came back.
If your game crashes or your internet cuts out or what ever then its only like a 4 minute time out. If you are getting longer time outs then you are dc'ing regularly. That's on you.
-
They said they just can't add anything new to it. Its like the Friday the 13th game. Its still there to play but they haven't been able to add anything in over 2 years.
-
Nevah!

you can do well in red ranks with any killer, i hope you realise that
Not without sweating it to win if the killer is really weak. Which I rarely need to do unless I'm on a bad map like Ormond, Rotten Fields etc.
-
I'll settle for a PS4/5 Dweet avatar.
-
I rarely see a Billy these days.

He's too addon and perk dependant. Myers has to use up 2 perk slots for Infectious and M&A to be at least somewhat good. If you don't use these two perks or the right addons, good luck at red ranks..
I don't use either of those perks and do consistently well with him in red ranks.
-
Myers is not even a contender for worst killer in the game. I main him and do consistently well with him in red ranks.

Often times its not even a chase. Im watching them over a short wall and the game is just like 'nope'. I cant count the amount of times stalk hasnt even registered since the Server changes. Sometimes it straight up regresses.
I still dont understand why Ghostface's stalk is a flat speed from any distance but Micheal is massively punished for not being up close to the target. As someone who bought this game for Mikey way back when it just feels so boring to play him now. He needs love from the devs.
Ghostface is just better in every way. No crap early game, better stalk, can 99% stalk multiple players.
Is Micheal the only killer that straight up hasnt been changed forthe longest time? I dont really count that awful spine chill buff.
Just realised I'm going off on a tangent about MM again and derailing a thread.
Yeah OoO is by far the strongest perk in the game when a SWF is in play. I think its a good risk/reward perk for solos but my god is the game just anti-fun when a swf has it.
Then you're watching some very poor Myers players. Mikey's early game is his weakest part, but unless you are facing super immersed survivors (which means they are not doing gens) then its not hard to get to tier 2.
I haven't struggled with it since I was a baby Mikey. The introduction of corrupt has made early game Mikey a lot better for me, too. Though I think corrupt in general is a great perk for killers in the age of the gen rush.

Depends how desperate they get. Often times its still smarter than leaving to find someone else. A lot of Micheals can lose a gen before they find their first player on bigger maps and panic.
That goes for most of the killers who are in the same boat as Mikey and have no real map mobility. Very easy to lose a gen on big maps before you have even hit someone. I can't remember the last time I went to Ormond, Red Forest etc and a gen didn't pop long before someone went down.
A competent Myers knows not to waste their tier 1 time on a pointless chase that is giving them nothing. You are throwing the match if you do.
-
I don't understand why so many killers use it. 95% of the time it gets taken out early along with ruin. Killers are wasting two perk slots just to try and get ruin to last, IMO.
-
Rubbing someone's back is not the same as repairing a gen, pulling apart a totem, or opening a chest.

They've never looped a Tier 1 myers around a rock for 3+ minutes while he desperately tries to stalk you for a split second at every turn.
Probably because no competent Myers player would do that.
-
I main Myers and rarely get object players. Even if I do they are not more of a hassle than they are for most killers.
-
Myers. Because he has limited stalk a good Myers player has to be smart about how much they utilize their stalk in each survivor, don't drain one survivor early so you have nothing left in later game. Be strategic about when you pop your tier 3 at the most opportune time. And of course try and have it 99'ed and ready to go.
-
Congrats. Very tough one to get. But you did it. And you made four new believers in the boogeyman while giving the middle finger to the Entity.
-
I am fine with it lasting 60 seconds after an unhook. But I like Otz's idea that if a survivor heals up or touches a gen in those 60 seconds, then it deactivates. Because if you have time to heal up or get back on a gen then you're not being tunneled.
