Never gets old. Been playing SWF for 10 months now, and its as awesome as ever.
Long live SWF.

Didn't Freddy get nerfed like a week or so after his release? You guys have been whining about SWF for months. The writing is on the wall. You're just bashing your heads against a brick wall.Amanda55 said:@Vortexas said:7

Can’t you just keep to one post about this why do you and your Leatherface avatar clan keep to one post and stop with the repeated failed attemptsNo.
Because if survivor mains have taught us anything it's spam and whine and you WILL get your way.
Look what salty survivor tears did to Freddy.
-
To add to this, BBQ and chili, hex ruin, overcharge, make your choice, devour hope and NOED should all be nerfed

-
Halloween all the way. Michael Myers is legit terrifying. Dr. Loomis is awesome. Laurie Strode is a fab protagonist, likable and can kick ass when she needs to. Cannot wait for the new movie later this year. Looks superb.

Love it LOLOLOL.

I empathise with them in regards to SWF Voice comms. Those games are bullying seesions. Note that the 4 man or no man is irrelevant though. Its just a series of horrible bullying games. Hell i remember my own games like that and the last one i 4 maned thanks to NOED. But it was still a terrible game . So i get why they are like they are .
Bullying in Dbd can come from non SWF lobbies, and from the killers, too. Just last night my friend and I went into a lobby, and the Pig was the killer. For reasons we still don't understand she was constantly tunneling one of the other random survivors, who was not playing toxic in any way. Just trying to do gens. When she got this person down, she spent a whole minute tea bagging them on the floor before hooking them. We saved them, she tunneled, and did the same thing again.

perhaps that 4 man team is who needs to 'git gud'.... i said 'organized'....
Perhaps I need to clarify. They are organized. They are communicating. They know what they need to do. They go in with their med kits, tool boxes, torches etc. They strategize what they are doing. But they still lose to a good killer.
-
@deadwolfwalking said:
an organized 4 man team will ALWAYS win over one guy with a terror radius and a neon red 'i am here' sign.... 'git gud'???.... lol. get ******....I'm assuming you're grossly exaggerating since a 4 man team has lost many times to one guy with a terror radius and a neon red 'i am here' sign. This is fact, not opinion. I've seen many online. I've been in many myself, including tonight.
So yeah.....git gud.

Jake for sure. Loud as hell, too.

jesus ******** christ.... you ppl and camping/tunneling.... oh, man....I have the same reaction to the SWF complaint threads and posts.

The camping and tunneling was out in full force in the games I just had tonight. But the good part is most of us came out with more blood points than the killer.

so in the end, if killer perks extends the game, but survivor perks does the opposite by making longer chases that means he cant focus on generators, we're back to a short game that in the end benefits the survivors.
when i play survivor i dont hate neither BBQ and chili nor Ruin. because there are counters to both. a guy is hooked? walk away and hide from the generator. Ruin is active? ######### some totems.
theres no counter to Decisive strike, or sprint burst.
That's a totally fair trade off. The only defense survivors have against killers, besides flashlights is to run from them. Sprint burst is not infallible either as it needs to recharge. Killers can and often do counter DS by dropping the survivor before they can use it or make them mess up.

Happy Birthday

-
Being a PS4 player, and not having that after game chat that PC players have, I had no idea the animosity between both sides was as strong as it was until I came here. I knew both sides could get salty, but this forum was an eye opener.
Its sad, because at the end of the day everyone here is a Dbd fan. There should not be such a divisiveness.
-
@Beardedragon said:
i can maybe find a stepping stone near you and say i might agree.but how much does survivor add ons help in terms of speed, when talking repair generators?
and then how much does the perks help the killer extend the game? while i dont have the exact data, i dont think any survivor perk really helps shorten the game down insanely much, as they mostly deal with survival.
where as killers can extend the game at least some degrees when using spotting perks and gen extention perks.
I would say about as much as a killers does to help slow down gens or track survivors. Killers hate DS. Survivors hate hex ruin. Killers hate self care. Survivors hate BBQ and chili. Killers hate sprint burst. Survivors hate overcharge etc.
Its a two way street. Both sides have perks that the other side hates because it gives them serious advantages.
-
@Beardedragon said:
but casuals dont have these perks thats kind of the point. and the only way to be a prominent killer is to run specific perks, where as being a survivor doesnt require you to run a specific perk in order to be successful. some perks helps a TON, sure, like sprint burst and DS, but you can still end the game super fast if the killer isnt using perks that extends the game.
he HAS to use it, survivors dont.
i dont even have most of those perks and my games can be over so fast.
That's your opinion. Most other players say otherwise. There are some perks survivors will nearly always use e.g. self care. There are some perks killers will nearly always use e.g. hex ruin and BBQ ans chili. Both sides will argue these are essentials in order to win, or gain an advantage.
-
@Beardedragon said:
no i didnt. i asked how they were a problem for you in general. i know their effect, but you can clean totems to remove the Ruin.the games can be super short, Ruin and other Gen regression perks is one of the few things keeping killers floating in order to delay the game enough to actually kill people.
They're not a problem for me in general. I was making the point of how they can seriously slow down generator repair. I get why killers use them. They can and do slow down gen repair. Same with overcharge. Its not an easy ride for survivors to get gens done when killers use perks like that.
-
@Beardedragon said:
how is bamboozle and hex ruin going to be a problem? considering how fast you can clear a game, you'd think some of you guys had time to destroy a few totems on the way. i know that i do anyway.Did you seriously just ask how hex ruin and bamboozle is a problem to gen repair?
-
@Beardedragon said:
no its not. its an insult. but you dont even understand the math here. with each person having to be chased 3 times, caught, and hooked, by the times 5 generators and a gate has been opened. it takes 70 seconds for 1 generator, and most survivors knows where the generators are since maps arent procedural.the time does not add up for the killer to win except with specific few killers. then we add all the perks like DS, sprint burst and other stuff to lengthen the chase.
You want to go back and forth again with the yes it is, no it isn't? Because I'm game.
Will you stop with your math arguments. Trying to get scientific and quoting times to do gens is laughable. Do you want to get out your calculator and tell me the times when the killer is running hex ruin, bamboozle, overcharge etc?
-
@Beardedragon said:
because when you use a post thats meant for toddlers to explain the mood of killers, thats not an insult? its an insult to all the killers who want a balanced game. you spit in their face with that post.
No, that's an analogy about the nature of the complaints about SWF. Saying I'm too stupid to understand something because I was hit on the head as a child, that's a personal insult.
-
@Beardedragon said:
you dont know what balance is even if it hit you in the face with a bat, with a note on explaining it. and then you go on to post how "right" that post was and how whiny killers are, when most of the killers have a pretty valid reason to be upset, because this game is not properly balanced.but sure, go main survivor and tell yourself how good you are for winning. its not a balance issue, you're just that good. and most great streamers that complain about balance issues about the killers, who we can see also have high ranked survivors, are just plain #########.
why not.
Is that the best you can do? Some pathetic childhood insult? You know someone has lost the argument when they resort to the personal insults.
Thanks for the suggestion, I think I will go play some survivor. This exchange has really put me in the mood for it.
-
@Beardedragon said:
still no and if you cant comprehend it, your brain has failed you. killers complain because theres a balance issue that eats away at the game.
playing killer is a stressfest since generators are done so fast, playing survivor isnt really a stressfest, its more relaxed.
Killers TEND (note the word tend) to complain about balance issues. Survivors tend to just be toxic in general by the tactic the killer is using.
Still yes, and if you can't comprehend it, your brain has failed you. Killers complain because they think there is a balance issue, when there isn't. A competent killer can clean the map. A competent killer can have every survivor escape and still walk away with more blood points than all 4 survivors.
Playing survivor against a competent killer can be just as much a "stressfest", but I don't view facing a good killer as stressful, its fun. If you're finding playing killer stressful, then I'll say what the killers say to us "whining survivors" - git gud.
Or better yet, stop playing killer altogether. You're supposed to be doing this for fun. If its a "stressfest" for you, then its idiotic to keep doing it.
-
@Beardedragon said:
no it doesnt.Yeah it does. Its a perfect analogy of the SWF complaining.

Sorry, but voice communication was NEVER intended to be part of DbD nor was SWF groups.
We should have the right, and ability to opt out without just lobby dodging.
I am sorry you need 3 people and voice to carry you man, hopefully you get better one day.
You have every right to vent your frustrations, but you're bashing your head against a brick wall here on this one. SWF is not going anywhere. Its a wonderful and popular element to the game. If you cannot accept its presence in the game then this game is not for you. -
@Beardedragon said:
what does people mean theres no counter to face camping?the rest of the team can do generators meanwhile cant they
That is the best way to punish those pathetic face campers. Everyone else escapes, and ends up with a higher score than the killer, too. Worth being face camped to death for that.

You are aware that the fear factor was going to fade no matter what, right? Eventually people get used to the game and then it isn't scary anymore.Exactly. It says a lot about the quality of this game when I've been playing it for nearly a year and can still get scared by killers like Myers.
-
@akbays35 said:
This isn't a good vs. bad argument it's about how DBD actually fails to deliver on a terrifying experience for the survivor and a threatening experience for the killer. Killers shouldn't have to fight the mechanics of the game, and the maps the devs create, and survivors need more to do than gens and unhook team mates.
In case it wasn't clear in my first post, let me make it crystal clear here; it doesn't fail as a terrifying experience. Not for me. It may for you, but here's a shocker, you don't speak for everyone. Only yourself.

Not for me. I've tried both, and playing as survivor is more intense, and more fun, too.Certain killers create more tension and scares than others. Michael Myers for example is always guaranteed the tension and scares for me. Always looking over my shoulder in a Michael match. Trapper has me constantly paranoid about where I'm walking, especially in maps with lots of tall grass.
look trolling is fun and all, but this is a serious issue with the game. Survivor is one part afk gen repair, one part running in a circle, one part left clicking on team mates. Killer requires way more mechanical, strategic, and focus gameplay while frankly being under siege by a group that have more tools at their disposal than you. Not only that you spend more time fighting with the map more than the survivors.
Trolling is not fun to me. I get that killers have more to contend with, but a competent killer with the right perks can own a map. I've seen them do it many times, and I play SWF. We've had our ass handed to us, or really had to fight to have at least one survive against a good killer.

Awesome . Personally the only "survivor mains" i have an issue with are the bully/intentionally stupid ones. The normal survivors mains are fine for me personally. As long as you are polite you are fine for me even in disagreement (the trick is to disagree politely).No, I never bully anyone in a game. Its no way to have fun. I appreciate a good killer who plays well. The onus is on them to give us survivors a run for our money.
Frankly survivors who piss the killer off by being toxic usually just end up putting a target on their back for a camping and tunneling.

Its a shame the licensed characters aren't getting new cosmetics. I would love to see Halloween H20 Laurie, and the older Laurie from the upcoming new movie as alternate looks for Laurie.

Its a horrible map for several reasons. Gens are often hard to find. The killers heartbeat sounds like its right beside you nearly all the time whether they are upstairs or downstairs. If you're facing killers like the Doctor or a competent Nurse on that map you might as well just throw yourself on the hook.
