If someone's raging on the game in post-game, as long as they aren't being offensive or throwing out slurs, just let them vent. They're clearly stressed out from the match or previous ones, and letting off the steam can help them mentally. Don't demoralize them further by being an ass and calling them a crybaby. You don't know what they deal with, so you don't know how bad the match affected them. They play the game to let off steam, then it just gets them stressed further by the actions of the other players.
They can ######### in post game but if they start blaming people they are likely the problem. Projection leads to other issues and a lot of players who complain post game project.
Also anyone who goes to another persons profile or attacks another player making it personal can get hardware banned for all I care. They're trash and ruin this community. You may think my statement is the same criteria but it's basically the paradox of tolerance. To have a good community you cannot tolerate bullshit. So in a sense being intolerant of the intolerant.
-
Do they consider that maybe the way people played was why someone didn't have fun?
If I'm survivor and I rate the game one star chances are it's because of my survivor teammates. Rarely I'll rate the game 1 star because of the killer as survivor.
As killer it's basically was I unable to do anything regarding defending objectives because of map rng and survivor spawns / items.

Well if the cosmetics are on sale for 50% off from my understanding then sure - To me cosmetics are too expensive in general but that's a price I'm willing to pay.

It's not the first thing that was removed from the game, nor will it be the last.
- Legacy Prestige is no longer attainable.
- Moonlight offerings are gone.
- Lower-rarity map offerings no longer spawn.
- Splinters were deleted.
This happens in every game.
Yeah but the main difference were those were something everyone could obtain at any time at no cost other than time and they were part of the base game. This is a paid DLC that was marketed as a permanent addition to the game at least that would be a standard assumption for a player to have.
Now of course the delisting isn't the full removal of content aside from the map but it's basically a full major update being removed. I feel your examples aren't all accurate legacy was never removed it was just awarded once to players. Moonlight offerings was just a small thing that affected developer time and map balance so for consistency they normalized the lighting on maps and removed the offerings. Lower rarity map offerings didn't matter because we still have map offerings that guarantee the map and splinters were technically replaced with Iri shards being able to purchase characters and cosmetics.
Essentially though - Everything you mentioned is still here with how it was introduced or it was replaced with a new feature. Stranger Things is outright being removed with no replacement and to me that's a big deal. I do understand what you mean though and I feel there's merits to what you're saying but I feel there is a big difference between those small additions in the game and a major update being removed / replaced.

*Any amount of negative change*
Dbd community:"Is this Armageddon?"
It sucks but deals fall through all the time it's not a massive deal and doesn't mean every license is gonna fall through now.
It is a big deal dude lol what do you mean we're losing an entire killer out of this deal falling through. Also losing an ENTIRE CHAPTER.
The survivors sure we can accept those are just skins - The killer is an entire feature in the game
-
I'm more concerned what happens to the killers power? Do they just release an OG killer with the same exact ability and give free access to it or what?
-
Been here since the start - This is definitely the worst thing to happen to the game and honestly scary and brings low confidence to continue supporting licensed content.
You may ask why?
What happens to being able to verse those characters?
What happens to support for that character?
Do bugs get fixed?
Do the characters get balance changes?
It's not fun having exclusive access to stuff regardless of what people say or think.
-
I have very little confidence in purchasing anymore licensed content now - Even if I keep it I don't want ######### to be exclusive at all.
-
Good and bad - It can cause a lot of misinformation but it can also build hype and keep the community engaged. In my opinion having a little bit of information leaked each chapter that turns out to be accurate is actually good. It starts early and healthy discussion over features by community members who actually are heavily invested into the game.
-
Only very few exceptions but yes - An example as above is The T-800 Terminator. The movie wasn't primarily horror but it had horror themes and who the ######### wouldn't want Arnold Schwarzenegger in Dead By Daylight?

Honestly that wouldn't be an awful change but again thats two wasted perk slots to know when a Survivor drops an item EH idk how i feel about that.
I'm asking about one or the other but I only brought up Hoarder because the theme of the perk and it alerts killer when survivors pick up an item.
Franklin's Demise shows the auras of all items on the ground or just knocked items? I feel the aura should always be visible with both of these perks personally.
-
What if Hoarder or Franklin's Demise alerted the killer with a noise notification when an item is dropped?
Would you personally find that a suitable adjustment?
-
I feel self-care is in a good place right now you just need to understand when to use it and when to look for heals or push objectives.
I mean it's legit a free heal no requirements aside from some time. You don't need an item, you don't need any prerequisites you just heal. Where as other superior heals have a requirement. If you want a fast heal use a medkit at the bare minimum.

It's clearly a Red Herring for the Friday The 13th chapter quote me on that.

The problem is once you open up the conversation to the broader topic on a forum like this there's no win condition and it creates a situation that could go on for a 1000 pages where no side backs down and nothing is accomplished which is why I find it easier to stay on point, which is cultural appropriation in a video game and the limitation of expression in a fictional character, which is self evidentially stupid.
Fair point - I'm just going to dip from this thread.
Won't lie I've seen some stupid threads on this forum but this one takes the cake. Usually keep my cool but must be one of those nights. Have a good one.

That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard, if you got a problem with it in real life then fine, but when it comes to the world of fantasy and creation and imagination everyone should be able to be anything and express themselves in anyway they see fit within a videogame on the condition it's not causing actual harm or promoting hate.
Your ignorance looks no different than harmful ignorance when you go to such extremes to find problems. All races should have access to all haircuts in a video game and expression should not be limited and you should leave the real world bs at the door.
You honestly shouldn't even be giving the dude a foot to stand on saying ah just let it go in the video game.
No this ######### is why we still have people being divided over the dumbest ######### ######### ever. I'm sick of people like Mr. Fresh Account with not even 10 post clearly made the account to spread bs or troll. Don't say it's only okay in just video games it's a ######### hair cut. I bet OP only knows very little history about the hairstyle and just came on the forums to racebait.
Let's say we humor OP - Okay what happens then?
Does every race start slowly taking things away from other races if they didn't invent them or if it didn't originate from their culture or history? Do you know how bad that would be and stupid? This is the mindset OP has. It's not even thoughtful discussion it's just "white girl have hairstyle bad" and they even say that in one of their post. Such a tasteless thing to even give a foot to stand on. You give these people an inch and they take a mile. They're not worth giving a platform because they misrepresent everyone else.
You think I'd want someone like OP representing me as a gay person? Imagine someone coming on the forums and being all like straight survivors / killers shouldn't have access to this charm.
And again to clarify and it's nothing personal but when you said "if you got a problem with it in real life then fine"
Don't enable this dude - If he's genuine saying stuff like that just enables them.
-
If the description didn't change clearly the name wasn't meant to be interpreted as race but more the sport of racing. Really not that big of a deal although they should have just kept the name cornrows because that's what it is.
This really feels like a non issue to be honest.
Also are you upset that Meg who isn't a person of color is using cornrows?
That would be the same as if I - a gay person - Would get upset if a non gay person were using the rainbow LGBQT charms in game without being gay.
They are representing me and my life and for the hair they are representing the culture and history behind it. Get over yourself.

At this point why not - My favorite franchise (Resident Evil) has been watered down so at this point might as well spread it around.

No, definitely won't. But I was meaning more if you tagged them in a post and it gained traction. In essence, you getting the ball rolling to put the idea on their radar.
The only hope of mod support getting traction is if a bunch of big community members pushed for it really hard and forced BHVR's hand. Thing is most of the big community members don't even dabble in that kind of stuff if I recall aside from I think Scott Jund but I just recall him having experience in Unreal Engine I think?
I've wanted mod support since 2016 being perfectly honest I saw so much potential in this game. I know there's a small handful of people who want it too but we're such a minority in this community that it isn't worth BHVR's time. They won't even fully support custom icons for example so it feels like a fever dream for them to go up to custom map support.

If you have Twitter, made you should tag them in a post about that.
I doubt they'll move mountains for one person I prefer surprising the majority of the community if they make the tools available to everyone. There's a lot of talented people in the community too who make audio and art to an extent it disappoints me the most they enable is the community cosmetic concept contest. A bit yeah but admittedly at the moment I'm working on an interactive VR experience with inspirations from PT and other old horror icons. However I'm totally willing to drop my spare time into DBD if they ever add mod support. I even have a design doc ready for if that special day ever happens.

Any killer that would stay at that main building even before this change deserves to get looped it's just not a smart play, if anything I'll let survivor do that gen there because then it's easier to force a three gen and most of the other tiles suck in that map it's a ez win if you just ignore that building
I agree but overall it's not good to have untouchable spots on maps or complete deathzones in maps either. I feel there should be a healthy balance where one side is favored but not to the point where the other side can't even rule it as an option.
I have mixed feelings because overall I never liked Dead Dawg Saloon because it's always been that killer sided map outside of the Saloon but going in the Saloon is a game loser. I'd like the map to be updated in all honesty touching up a few things because overall while it's a good looking map it's boring to me but maybe others love that map I'm just indifferent about this.
You might think wow I'm a biased survivor player for not liking the map but overall though I just find games too easy on that map as Nurse / Blight main because all I have to do is go to the center of the map and look in one direction and I'll guaranteed see a survivor with how small the map is and how out there the gens are. It makes survivors just want to hide if they know I'm not in a chase and that makes the game boring for me.
-
Remake the game in Unreal Engine 5.
-
I want BHVR to make a derelict manor.
...Or just let PC players make custom maps.
If mod tools are released I will take time to make a detailed map for this game - I've got plenty of experience to do so. I will craft every set piece and loop by hand to perfection taking into account all killers and survivors abilities.
-
Burning would be interesting but here are the debuffs I'd give but it gives potential for griefing.
While burning
- Being burned immediately causes the survivor to become injured
- Being burned lowers visibility and creates a trail of smoke
- While interacting with objects you set them on fire - The fire lingers over time but will eventually extinguish
- Being burned causes the survivor to scream violently making them audible from a distance
- Entering the dying state extinguishes the flame
So in a sense it's a similar temporary debuff to Plague where it can be spread but it will extinguish on its own over time. Although this effect is cooler and I mean imagine how bright some areas will be when survivors become a walking torch?

Yeah I know.
I guess I'm just more flustered at some of these decisions.
It feels genuinely upsetting. I don't know why I bother half the time
They should know by now but this just shows who ever does internal testing doesn't actually know what they're doing if they even have Q&A. It's like they don't test these simple changes before they go live. If I was changing a map ESPECIALLY if it was a permanent fixture on the map instead of a random tile the first things I would check.
- Are there multiple windows nearby that can cause an infinite?
- Are the pallets on that tile fair for both sides?
- Are there any vault locations that cause infinites?
- How are the totem spots?
Literally first thing that comes to mind with this game. It's actually frustrating.
Also "Break The Wall" is a garbage suggestion. You either waste time at the start of the game breaking these or you have to willingly lose a chase to break these to not further screw yourself later. There might as well be a pallet there so it leaves room for error on the survivors part.
Not saying you're saying break the wall either I just know someone is going to say that. Breakable walls were a cool idea but their implementation feels like ######### most of the time.
-
Do you expect BHVR to understand why some loops are strong.
They should have just removed the window it seemed like a no brainer.
Literally the first thing I notice on new maps is if there are two windows next to each other. Almost anytime there is a second window by another it becomes an extremely strong loop. This was an issue with Red Forest for a while on The Huntress' map.
-
I hope they add Springtrap so people cry about him on the forums :)
It's okay though everyone was fine with Legion getting a bunny cosmetic from Silent Hill.
-
Should have made it so the outside door was broken not the inside. Alternatively kept both doors and added a broken floor to fall through giving the killer a choice on what door to break or even better remove the window and open both doors and suddenly all the issues listed disappear.

Best time to start is usually around a free weekend. Because a ton of new players flush in.
But this issue probably will be solved, once the SBMM goes live. (at least thats what i hope)
I get what you mean and I do appreciate skepticism it shows you care about mm'ing too. Thing is it's still a matter of finding time to play the game and this game punishes you actively if you don't play like 2-3 hours a day or hours throughout the week as a new player.
I do hope the issue is solved but right now matchmaking as a newbie is awful. If you wanted to even test it you could make a fresh steam account and play DBD through Steam Sharing just to test it. Sometimes you can find games fast but that's pretty rare. Sometimes my buddies who are new can find a game in 2 minutes and that's cool. Other times they just want to chill in a discord call because some of them have had an upward of 15-20 minutes just sitting there doing nothing.
Ultimately we can't rely on events for new players to have good matchmaking times I feel there needs to be a permanent solution that gives an alternative. New players joining a SWF also makes it worse because MM struggles to find a game and ends up just chucking them at a higher ranked killer which I feel is fine but still. I'll wait for the new MMR system to roll out and hope it fixes the issues but I won't hold my breath.
-
Well honestly I've felt more and more disappointed and the biggest example was the 5th Anniversary. Ultimately the Resident Evil chapter is cool and I'm a big fanboy but would an anniversary ultimately have decided if that was added or not?
To me I feel big landmark updates for the game is when we receive quality of life changes that make players happy especially us players who have been here a long time. Personally I've been here since 2016 and I'm genuinely disappointed and somewhat frustrated we don't have some things that's been asked for since essentially the start. We've just now received colorblind support and it felt like that only happened because the massive backlash BHVR received for a developer response.
Here are some examples
- More objectives
- The ability to save multiple loadouts per character
- The ability to vote for a rematch post game
- Improved custom games
- Less RNG on bloodwebs
- Potentially new gamemodes
- Proper rank rewards
- More stuff to unlock progression wise
- Customize the lobby screen locally with previously existing assets and music
- Custom banners for post game stats
There's a lot of stuff BHVR could have added even if very small and honestly the 5th anniversary felt underwhelming and I've felt this way with each chapter the past two years since Spirit (Funny coincidence I hate Spirit but not relevant). It feels like this game is stagnating on improvements as they slowly release. The updated maps are cool but ultimately they don't really add anything to the game aside from a coat of paint. They're appreciated but I want efforts on stuff we've asked for BHVR to add for years such as multiple loadouts.
Also don't misunderstand - BHVR clearly has worked on and improved upon the game in many aspects. It just feels the rate at which they do it makes each chapter feel less and less special the more I play the game. I know others have the same feelings just probably to a lesser extent. For example when Trickster released no one remembers it for Trickster they remember it as the update that buffed Wraith out of garbage tier. That's how badly everyone wants quality of life changes for existing features if a change is big enough it will easily overshadow the chapter. The Wraith changes weren't even that big and it overshadowed Trickster.

Rank 20 player clicks on fast match, because he can´t find any players on his rank.
Instantly regrets it after getting matched with red ranks.
Some of my friends have bought the game and since there's barely any legit rank 20s they spend at times 10-20 minutes just to find one game - Plays one game and queues again only to get bored realizing they'll have the same queue time only for me to tell them "Just climb out of those ranks it will fix the issue" and then decide the game isn't worth their time and goes to play something else because not everyone has more than 2-3 hours to dedicated to video games a day and committing that to grind out of a rank with a ######### matchmaking system isn't great. Also suggesting play at X hours isn't a solution because not everyone can bend their schedule to play at the right hours just to find a game in less than 5 minutes.
Even better is when some of my newbie friends finally find the game it's still with rank 1s or people who are blatantly smurfing. So regardless either way it wouldn't matter may as well save them the time wasted by at least giving them the option to find a fast game.
-
@Rogue11 said:
Matches like this are caused by long queue times for either side. This probably won't change with MMR, as the devs program the server to prioritize getting you into a match over making you wait longer for a more balanced match.
Why doesn't matchmaking just have an option to tick on whether to prioritize quick games or games with skill level as close as possible? Seems like a more straight forward solution to be honest.
-
I welcome more video game licenses into DBD.
-
Trapper needs a lot of quality of life things but the first thing I'd do is make Dead Hard not pass traps but I'd also add other things survivors can use to disarm traps but overall I feel that traps in general need a complete reimagining to make Trapper a worthwhile killer.
For example Trapper slowly arming a trap while moving across the map and then sliding it somewhere, Trapper being able to call the entity to move their unarmed traps nearby for them, survivors being able to find bricks or stuff around the map to toss nearby to deal with some traps (Just be open minded here when I think reimagining I just feel we need Trapper 2.0).
But yes I feel Trapper should be able to slowly move while arming a trap and I feel that placement needs to be improved similar to Freddy's snares. When Trapper is trying to place a trap it's so finicky against certain surfaces where as Freddy's snares iirc tends to remember the last available spot to place them down. Trapper needs a quality of life change similar to that to where they'll snap to the last viable spot to place a trap so they're not trying to find that pixel perfect spot to set a trap down.
Again so many things Trapper could have and yes I get I suggested a way to disarm traps but that's more a trade off for Dead Hard not to bypass traps. We remove an exhaustion perk as an option to bypass traps where it's either broken against Trapper or when it's not present some traps guarantee that survivor dies in exchange for survivors needing to search the map for like a pile of bricks or something to toss as a trap. The brick would use an item slot too so I feel this only benefits Trapper as it inconveniences survivors being forced to carry an item just to have to skillfully toss it at a trap precisely.
Just my take on things but I feel Trapper needs more than number changes but I won't lie I can't confidently say what all of those things are - All I have is ideas here in this case.
-
They finally added something that can make skillchecks more fun and engaging. That's what this game needs right now - Different types of skillchecks and other minigames while interacting with objectives.
Hell this could be a skillcheck minigame for the killer perk Overcharge.
-
Look - I used to speedrun RE2 and I'm gonna say as much as I love Resident Evil 2 - It's impossible to defend gens against above average survivors on this map. Not even good ones but just common sense survivors. If you check a gen and it turns out survivors weren't at that specific one you lose at least one gen minimum - This is why the middle generator is so important is because it's the easiest to defend.
We all know we can't just remove the map - However the map can be saved - Just make it so the realm is three separate maps - The West Wing, the East Wing and the entire map which is only available in custom games so people can still do it. The West and East Wing versions of the map should barricade off areas that shouldn't be accessible similar to how Resident Evil's older games had with arranged mode.
Here are the two main issues with RPD
Generator Placement - Literally every generator needs you to traverse through many hallways in a specific order to reach them - You cannot just go from A to B. You need to go from A to B to C to D to reach a landmark area.
The Exit Gates - Same issue as the generators - Incredibly difficult to patrol even one of these.
Either way - If the map was split into variants BHVR could even consider adding areas from the third floor although I doubt they go through with it.
-
Well admittedly I do feel that's a better way to promote certain characters and events - Bonuses for playing certain characters.
-
Tunneler detected - Under code 445-53 A you have violated the survivor rule handbook and will be punished - Amnestetics are to be deployed immediately.
Realistically with the overused joke aside - Play how you want dude. If you want to tunnel and facecamp someone out of the game just for looking at you funny then do it. What are they going to do? Cry about you on the forums? I'd wear that as a badge of honor. Someone got so butthurt over me playing the game they made a forum post about me. In fact I'm used to that but that was when I played shooters - Used to get accused of aimbotting all the time because I'd consistently headshot people in any game the moment they entered my FOV. Same premise though people found a way to complain about me instead of adapting to the game and getting better. If a survivor can't make use of all the resources on the map if you were really hard focusing them then that's their fault and that's also their teams fault for not recognizing it.
Play how you want and enjoy the game.
-
I feel Demogorgon is in a good spot. Although if I had to give it any thematic buffs it would be the ability to lunge through windows using Shred with an addon and when Demogorgon leaves a portal they run on all fours for the period that they're undetectable. Granted that would need a lot of animations.
Aside from that I wouldn't change much if anything at all.
-
The hatch should be more complex to open and keys should be given more uses aside from hatch such as chest. Every item has multiple uses for the most part aside from keys.
- Flashlights can be used to save survivors by blinding the killer and be used to disable the killers power.
- Toolboxes can be used to repair generators and sabotage hooks
- Medkits can heal yourself or teammates and apply buffs
- Keys have one use without addons and that's opening chest
I'm basically saying keys should be reworked to have a bigger use in game that isn't a hatch so they have a use but it doesn't immediately ######### the killer over in an unfair way. Essentially what I'd suggest is a larger amount of chest including chest that have items that can only be used in the trial and cannot leave the trial similar to the Flashbang and the rarity that item has. It would be the perfect way for BHVR to experiment with items in the trial without ruining their blood economy and they could just disable drops server side if something is broken.
I would dare say that keys should be more common and item chest should be more common too in game. It would essentially cause survivors to loot more and give a high risk high reward element in the game. The hatch should have a bigger requirement to open than one key and special chest could give specific types of rewards based on what rarity key you used.

Is it sad I didn't even realize there is a third floor?
Nah not really just depends if you played the RE2 Remake or not. I personally was speedrunning it for a bit so I know the map inside and out. Granted there are a lot of doorways and hallways in the DBD version that weren't even in the Remake. I feel that the East Wing + Lobby and the West Wing + Lobby should have been their own thing with the third floor being accessible and then varying walls being broken in multiple versions. BHVR could have easily made a lot of cool variations of this map but chose to just open the entire map + add some senseless entity corruption thing when that's not even present on their other maps and as a Resident Evil fan it bothers the ######### out of me.
Technically there is a third floor on the DBD version if you enter the library which imo should have been a way to access part of the third floor on that wing along with the hallway near the upstairs shower above the armory.

Then they're playing it badly. Many killers have and can 4k on this map. It's not so one-sided like you want to say it is.
Ruin/Undying will make it a nightmare, the size can make hook saves terrible to coordinate in solo queue, and many pallets are very easy to hit over and play around. I've been able to get a number of survivors stuck in dead-end rooms because they don't know the layout.
When survivors memorize totem locations good luck defending those two disposable perks. I've personally already memorized most of the totem locations and they disappear within 2 minutes. Granted it's not hard to figure out where they're at on this map.
There's also too many safe vaulting locations that extend chase for far too long. Once you get survivors who actually know what to do on this map you'd realize it's not so killer sided.
Give it a few weeks for survivors to learn the map and you'll see what I mean. Just because someone somehow managed a 4k on the map doesn't mean the killer played well it likely means the survivors had no idea what they were doing.
-

Completely false. Most killers do very well on this map as the survivors simply don't save in time and Ruin/Undying is a nightmare due to the size.
I've legit never seen a killer get more than one kill on this map without camping and I've been getting this map all week. I've even played against 2 killers I recognized that said ######### it who usually ######### on everyone.

@Triplehoo said:
Holy crap! Has anybody seriously ever escaped this map?
Yeah because most killers give up when they get it and afk even at red ranks. Once you lose that center gen in the lobby the game is essentially over because patrolling other gens is awful.
Imo BHVR should have split the map into 2-3 realms including slightly more areas on the third floor but having each zone be the West and East Wing.
-
Yes - The DC penalty is back

They need to stop doing exclusive items it just makes players do stupid things to get them.
I hope they don't give out anymore exclusive stuff personally. Reducing the grind however will benefit both old and new players.
