Yikes. Posting 2 comments before the other person can even respond? Sounds like you are the one freaking out? Are you a super fan of that nurse player or something?

It's sort of baffling seeing your comment, though, as you've completely warped everything i've said.

I didn't say Japan and Korea are better? Like, what? Lol. I said there are nurse players there who are just as good as him, which is just true.

What am I trying to tell you? That a streak like that isn't shocking on nurse. On any other killer? It would be. If you can't put two and two together from that...I don't know, mate.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3090799#Comment_3090799

SalGu. Easily just as good as that other nurse guy. Top Korean streamer. Plenty of videos of him playing as nurse.

I'm not going to search for more. There have been many asian tournanents with top nurse players.

I've offered plenty of evidence again. Still haven't seen any nurse gameplay from you. Don't really know how you would do it, though. You need to be able to turn your mouse well to play nurse up to her potential. I really would like the chance to give you a pointer or two. Then you can finally realize where you are going wrong.

    LOL

  • Man he's got the inside track on the SE Asia DBD scene you better respect lol

Best in the world? Plenty of nurse players who are just as good as him. Don't pay much attention to the NA scene, but there are quite a few nurse players in Japan and Korea that are just as good as this guy.

Plenty of survivors who are just as good at survivor as this guy is at nurse, too. Quite a few more players, I'd imagine, just due to the sheer numbers of how many more survivor players there are.

So, yeah. Probably a better thing you aren't the game dev.

Also, I said he was the best, and you said plenty of killers are just as good as him. First, you offered NO evidence. Second, if they're just as good as he is, he's still the best. Other people are just right there with him. So what's the point exactly? What you trying to tell us, mate? Besides "meh i dont like when people talk about NA, i'm edgy obscure hipster you gotta go to japan and korea for the good stuff"

    Get. Over. Yourself.

  • You're right, IF you had recorded the gameplay we'd know. But you didn't. So we don't.

Also, games are random. I've had a very horrible solo q this morning and big losing streak. The past several days I've been on a tear, winning and getting tons of extra items, etc. It's almost like you have to play a ton of games before you have any real sense of what's going on!

He won 300 games in a row. He's the best there is. It doesn't get any better than that. You picked a creepy thing to get defensive about. Like what's the issue here?" How is your point in any way related to my post? Also you have no CLUE if the guys are just as good as he is or better. You just don't like anyone saying someone is the best. What a creepy weird thing to freak out about.

Gens have never been fun, and are in desperate need of change or a secondary object to give something else to do. This has been the case for years, and the update only exacerbated that. Not that you play the survivor role though, your posts are always crying about DH or some wrong survivors have slighted against you.

I've spent more time playing survivor than killer this patch for sure. I didn't like using DH (wasn't good at it) and now that it's gone I'm more competitive relative to others when using different exhaustion perks. But by all means, attack the man not the argument. Ad hominem is the lazy man's fallacy.

I don't mind gens at all. I see it as the dirty work that has to get done. Do you want it to be all chases all the time? Because that's where fools cry about tunneling. I swear there's no way to make survivors happy. I just played several games where survivors spent more time looking for chests or just refused to unhook. SoloQ is bad for two reasons, lack of info and just terrible, selfish, brain dead people who don't care about anyone else in the trial. Being selfish doesn't work in a team game. You can't tug off to your stats at the end of the game because you're all dead.

  • @Piruluk said:

Survivors just need to git gud, I guess.

    DbD is balanced

So what you're saying is the best nurse player in the world always wins at nurse and somehow this means the entire game should adjust so the best player at nurse doesn't win at nurse?

Very happy you aren't the head of a game studio.

  • @thisisntmax said:

Ah yes, the meta of holding m1 and only m1 and only saving a little before second stage hooks and doing gens together if you have prove. Meanwhile, hoping thana, eruption, overcharge isn't being played this game. Such fun.

Waiting to hear what YOU think this game is about. Because so far I hear you just complaining that you dont like doing gens and you dont like perks. Maybe call of duty is for you.

I swear, the amount of people complaining, and once you pull back the curtain, it just sounds like they dont want to play dead by daylight (or what's more likely, they just love to complain and you'll never make them happy).

  • @C3Tooth said:

Dont worry, the killer was just trying to inflate kill rate.

    lol. My guy.

  • @RichardCarter said:

And I bumped into the same killer twice.

Guys. Everyone saying we'll adjust or whatever isn't understanding that you can adjust to being demolished like this. I'm desperate for help

Well, I suspect you're either lying or you have a very, VERY broad definition of camp/tunnel. For example, "oh the killer found me again even though I was just unhooked 30 seconds ago OMG TUNNEL" and "its late game and im on the hook OMG CAMPING ME"

    That's not right.

  • @Exxodus21 said:

For both killer and solo survivor. For survivor I had a noticeable improvement in quality of teammates. The killers I played against were about the right level. There were less of the annoying killer builds and I was getting 3 to 4 escapes for every 2 times I died

For killer my queue times were much closer to normal. Usually 30 - 60 seconds for a match and the survivors I went against seemed like we were close in skill level. Some games gens still flew by and everyone escaped but I had everyone on or near death hook and I felt like I really had a chance to win, as opposed to watching all 4 escape while I was only able to get 3 hooks total pre-patch. During endgame I felt like I was actually a threat to the survivors and could tell they were debating a lot more on whether or not to make risky plays. Most of my games were 2k - 3k with most or all gens being done, with the rare 4k.

Overall this patch is feeling better and better on both sides.

No... that would mean the survivors were... blowing things out of proportion?

That's not like them at all.

The real kick in the pants is that if you purchased perks through the shrine you need to either unlock all the characters for those perks or spend hundreds of thousands of shards to get perks to level three.

What you call a kick in the pants, I call a minor downside to an otherwise favorable system to players. I mean with the old system when you unlocked via shrine, you still has to find that perk in the blood web. So what exactly is your issue now?

  • @VoidOfMe said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3089532#Comment_3089532

oh, so it's ok to make meta perks now?

wasn't this patch made because people were using the same perks over and over again?

now you want everyone to run OTR and Prove Thyself so you can complain later on that PT have to be nerfed?

    you know better than that

Um, you're 100% correct that it's ok to have meta perks. You clearly misunderstand. Nobody is pretending a meta shouldn't exist. The devs said the meta was stale and they were correct.

It sounds like you thought you just delivered the death blow with your argument, but you ended up outlining my point rather well. Thanks guy!

  • It's simple, people get real mad when a game is slower, and they are looking for anything to blame. So instead of saying "maybe I should run prove thyself and learn to 2-man gens with a toolbox", they just yelled at the first patch note they could blame.

It's simple, but really, really sad :)

  • @Sally_S_gay_son said:

well hatch isnt really that bad of a mechanic now... but it does feel kinda bad

I agree. Hatch is a pity prize for the last survivor. It's fine. But you have survivors using the pity prize then tbagging like they wiped the floor with you and it's cringe.

But that's why survivors do it. The moment a killer wins is usually face to face and more satisfying.

Still, it's just petty sore loser survivors who crawl to the corner of a map with no hooks or hide until the entity takes them. That's just scummy because they're mad they lost.

  • @EvilSerje said:

I'm speaking about "Strength in numbers" challenge, where you have to have at least one survivor escape while you still in match.

Trivia (can skip to the next part)

Another SoloQ example. I'm 1.2K hours (so no comments like "you just have to play more"). I almost never used DH before, so nothing new for me perkwise, using same familliar loadout.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2P8VZPLY5EIC/image.png

Only once I escaped through hatch as last survivor.

Only 3 games were not 4K.

I have starting to get lots of gold and iri "Evader" emblems and be in chases longer than 2 minutes (exept nurse, ofc), which means killers I'm matched with are completely unskilled. Yet almost everytime is 4K

    Tunneling is off the charts!

Finally got that book challenge because was matched with 3 SWF bully squad and killer was fresh.

    What i wanted to say

SoloQ is literally unplayable, unless you're some pro tournament streamer. Devs should get up the nerve and make a statement: survivor gameplay is supposed for friend play. SoloQ is not meant to be and it's at your own risk. No problem with that, many quesions will be ceased immediately.

System requirements: internet connection, PC/Xbox/PS, 3 friends

Let me give an example: Hunt Showdown. You play 3 vs 3, or 2 vs 2. You can go solo agains duos and gain "underdog" bonus, or agains trios and get super "underdog" bonus. So solo is officially left for streamers, tryhards and challengers. Everyone fine with that. Why just simply acknowledge the same thing in DbD?

That awkward "you kinda can play Solo, but kinda can't" is really disorienting.

    Another thing that stumbles me

Why many perks switches off at the EGC? It's like "You lose, but you can play well and go to the end, and then lose anyway". Why? Why killer is obliged to have win? There's some quota?

OK well I've escaped in over 50 percent of my games and I'm total dog water. So... It's almost like different people have different experiences!

Well I mean, maybe the problem isn't thana, but the fact that you were using 3 (2.5) slowdowns? They slowed gens down for killers so you don't do that

No, they slowed down gens so killers didn't HAVE to do that. Now they have a choice on how to build. There's nothing wrong with a killer choosing to play a longer game and it's usually a better strategy.

  • I'm a killer and I think this is annoying but I absolutely know why people do it. Survivors feel like their win is unceremonious. It's not satisfying to some of them because they just sneak out unnoticed. After running from a killer all game they wanna rub it in.

Its pathetic behavior especially when there's free pity escapes via hatch but survivors are so desperate for validation they do it anyway

  • The balance is perfect if you just give solo queue some basic info on where survivors are and what they're doing. Kindred base kit then tell them to git gud

  • I think they're just quitting because they're fragile ego children

  • @Jasonisanicefella said:

I played 25 games since the update and I am mostly getting stomped, and this is acceptable to an extent.

What is not acceptable is the way things are happening:

1- camping is absolutely happening in more than 50% of my games (this means hard camping, with the killer close to the hook and with consistent hook bombing when someone is trying to unhook

2- STBL is too strong right now when used as a camping weapon

3- the speed (or better the slowness) of the gens is terribly boring. I have never had such a bad time on gens, do something about it. Let me go and collect some parts like F13 but it's unbearable right now

4- if the killer uses the best add-ons or a good killer it is hopeless, you won't escape unless you are a really good competitive team or good SWF team

What are the devs doing? The feedback is abysmal, can we have an ETA of when things will be fixed?

Speaking as a killer, you need to whine a lot harder and lot longer if you want anything to happen. These baby survivors think they can cry for 5 days and get their way lol

  • @Gindaen said:

If Suiciding on Hook and DCing is increasing, this is a symptom of poor game health. In fact, this is probably the biggest red flag there is for a game.

It's a red flag for scummy survivors who have been bottle fed and coddled for too long, they fold at the slightest suggestion that they improve their ability.

  • @supersonic853 said:

Trust me i enjoy the updates from a 50/50 perspective. I think this patch was overall healthy. But as a killer and survivor i hate thana pentimento. Wheres the skill in playing legion and just forcing forever gens? On the bright side it was the first time i found out the game map can run out of pallets. Because the legion was so cocky he just followed me shaking his head yes as he broke every pallet. I hope theres no chance this stays a thing for to long. But i know some updates take forever. Also from a killer perspective its the one build i refuse to run because i actually want to feel some pressure. For whoever else has faced this build you have my sympathies and how did you approach it?

I approached it like any other pvp game. Sometimes I'm going to lose games, sometimes I'm going to win them, and sometimes they'll be fast, sometimes they'll be slow. I don't DC at the first sign of discomfort. These games are not taking 40 minutes like some bad actors are pretending. They aren't instant losses either. The game is a little slower. Everyone quotes gen times as if there are max thana/dying light/pentimento stacks and that's just false. Most of the time the gens aren't going to be anywhere near that slow. If survivors did a bad job doing bones and aren't working together, sure the gens can get super long near the end, but that's your own fault.

Every game is a different threat. I know this from playing killer. But the survivor role is used to being coddled, and they just want to "smoke and vibe" while kickin back with a controller and playing every game like it's the same. Since I'm not used to those luxuries and killer is a very tactile, visceral playstyle, I find the survivor side exciting when I take control of the nuances that change each maps objectives.

  • @DBDVulture said:

If you understand the game mechanics, the maps and all the killers then playing survivor is pretty easy. Players like me had thousands of hours to adjust over the years to all these variables.

I met someone who started playing around January and while they are pretty good looping is not something they have mastered yet. While not terrible they are not really going to run the killer for three generators either.

The biggest challenge to playing survivor is getting behind the curve; if you get into matches where people quit because they don't like the killer then you will likely lose. The problem is that there's a wide range of quitters to wade through before you get to the "never say die" group. Some of the quitters are the type to just hide near the end of the game hoping everyone else is doing generators.

It is not very intuitive but the game gets easier as you win more often.

Agree 100%. Survivors right now are looking for reasons to quit. The second they see NuRsE/bLigHt, or any sliver of evidence that a killer is "tunneling me", they're looking to quit out.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

I did not feel that the changes were that big of a deal on paper. In practice though, it has kind of been a struggle. I am lower mmr because I usually just give the killer a free kill if they do not get anyone else. I actively choose to do this. But post-update, they have been getting multiple kills during the game, so I try to escape end game and I only did it once against a TTV Pyramidhead who was trying to 2 hook everyone before sacrifices.

I also accidentally threw a game because self care takes so long to heal now and I had no idea just how much longer. I feel bad about that one, the person on hook probably hates me. As far as I am aware, I have never been such a baby survivor that I resulted in the killer wiping us until that game... Lol.

I suspect some of the practical issues are pouting survivors. I just played a game where a guy got downed twice quickly, so he instantly disconnected (as the gens popped from 3 to 2). 2 gens on his 2nd hook the guy was angry but the game was going great. We won the game without him pretty easily and all 3 escaped. I know that's just one example, but I've seen plenty of this. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Survivor goes into game thinking "this is gonna suck, the patch is bad, killer is too strong" and the first time they get a whiff of validation for their fears, they blow up and quit out.

If survivors played like they gave a crap instead of looking for reasons to quit, we'd see better survive rates right now. That's why paper doesn't match up with actuality.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

    • "This effect is cancelled prematurely if you perform a Conspicuous Action."

How are you using OtR to heal in the Killers face?

Downed survivor healed as much as she could, I ran to her, took a hit, and was able to pick her up and run away before he could hit again. It was nice.

  • @Tactrix said:

I never have a problem surviving because of a certain perk, it's always only when I get tunneled and face camped, those are the only games I guarantee lose now because those 2 aspects went from mildly unbalanced to wildly unbalanced. For example pre-patch if you were being face camped the rest of the team could get at least 4 gens before you completely died. Now 2 people will die before you get all 5 assuming the killer goes after no one else and sits on hook. So you're guaranteed to lose half your team. And if the killer does go after other people(which most do) that's almost a guaranteed 4k, especially if they have any gen regression perks.

You are wildly out of touch. Your idea of what "guaranteed 4k" is needs serious re-evaluation.

Also, explain to me how you're getting tunneled when Off The Record exists? No ones fault but your own if you aren't equipping good perks to counteract the kind of play you dislike most.

  • @CyberRoninX said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3086849#Comment_3086849

Nope. I will stand around if the killer should have killed me. I will lay on the hatch till I die. Meet me in the fog and ill go ahead and prove it. BP means nothing when you have all the perks already unlocked.

You're clearly a man of great principles.... in dead by daylight video game.

  • @C3Tooth said:

To be fair, the 10sec is that much, but its very effective on tunnelers & especially campers.

Further more, the biggest thing about Gen time is the regression. Since is possible to have a Gen at 95% being regressed to 0. That possibility also come with low regression speed.

Not sure how any of that changes my stance that the gens are doing just fine when you team up and soloing a gen with no enhancements is a bad strategy.

  • @JibbyNeutron said:

Balance will NEVER EVER be achievable in a game with over 20 maps, over 25 Killers, 540 Addons, 250 Perks etc.

We should sure try to be balanced, but we wont get it. However, this patch not only failed balance wise (its out of balance compared to pre patch) but also killed the entire fun of at least 1 side (for me survivor aswell as Killer is boring now).

    FAILURE PATCH

We also again losing hundreds of players daily since the patch. Around 3k on steam at least

    Incorrect

  • Nobody wants to comment here because they hate the truth. Doesn't suit their victim narrative

  • @Sluzzy said:

It should be obvious by now that the last patch broke the game. Survivors, especially solo survivors, have no chance of winning against a buffed killer across the board. Matches I have witnessed survivors have stopped trying. Nothing was done to help the survivors in this patch, while massively buffing killers. After watching an hour of streaming this morning to get a little atmosphere of the climate of the game. Killer streamers waiting in long queues and steamrolling every single match. It was so boring watching killers 4K every match. Not sure how they had a thousand watching but they did.

Survivor perks are not working. OTR is being countered by hitting someone off the hook. Perks are too weak or not working.

Killer queues have crashed because so few wants to play in an unfun and unbalanced match.

I think they thought this patch would work because they listen to only killer mains and streamers. Unfortunately, this very small loud minority is not how the game should be played or who it should be balanced for.

They just did a huge amount of work on a new update and patch. So no, they didn't "give up" on the game. You just don't like the patch.

Some people should really think before they post.

  • @MasterGS32 said:

Well, I just wanted to see if it's only me, or if you all have gotten into matches lately, got chased, got hooked, camped, or tunneled, and then out of the game, with this particular loop put on repeat on each and every single match. Cause that's what's been happening to me lately. And I absolutely got tired of it. I am not a survivor main, btw, I actually main killer, but I have also come to enjoy survivor gameplay as well lately. The problem is that this cycle put on repeat forever has become so frustrating. I promise I am not even baiting BT hits or DSes, I just try to play the game normally, but the killers still just want to tunnel. And I am done.

The last drop was this match I just had against a Nemesis on The Game, that tunneled as I've never seen before. He didn't even try to hide it or to cycle a different survivor in between my hooks. He just tunneled straight in our face and we could do nothing about it because he just tanked all the BTs and the DSes and still went after the unhooked survivor. And he literally tunneled each hook state of each survivor individually. Sometimes I get tunneling a person after 2 or 3 gens have been finished, but I cannot understand a Nemesis that tunnels like that from the beginning of the game till the end of it. It's like that was his sole mission in that match like he was doing an only tunnel challenge.

Because of this tunneling issue the game has, I've been taking it easier lately, playing DBD maybe once or twice a week. Well, I just wanted to say and also let Behaviour know that if they don't do something about tunneling and camping, all the survivor player base will just follow the same path as me. And that is, leave the game. As much as I love DBD and its core design and the 4v1 aspect of it, I cannot physically take more tunneling than I already have. Therefore I must proceed and say goodbye to this game for the time being and look into other games that can actually be fun to play, and not frustrating.

So in a game where you run away from a killer you're quitting because you didn't like running away from a killer

    Cool, good luck!

Been through every meta, from sabbing every hook on the map so killer only has basement and was forced to run iron grasp (hooks used to not regen), to the last stale meta of dead hard and DS.

I am a high level player so I've always been able to hold my own, even with the current changes which are terrible by the way. But the casual player has absolutely been destroyed by this latest update.

I play with several casuals including my girlfriend and they very rarely escape now. Maybe once every 8-10 matches when SoloQ, and a little more often when playing with me. Killer has been made way too easy to play. 9 year olds on xboxes with no headphones and all yellow perks can easily 4k lobbies now with minimal effort. Surely this was not the intended effect of the patch? It shouldn't be this easy for killers, and it definitely shouldn't be this difficult for the casual survivor. This is a big blunder by this dev team, and I can guarantee will result in shrinking player numbers over time as more and more casual grow tired of getting wrecked in almost every match they play.

Again, played since day 1, seen every meta, and this is unspeakably bad. This is going to kill the game if not addressed. The casuals will not continue.

What's the amount of survivors let go, like.. 0.5%?

Think I'd rather just accept the killer's generosity and not waste their time than slap it out of their hands over a percent of a percent of a percent.

Exactly. This guy is also probably just lying. A lot of flexing on the forums but I think homeboy sprints to that hatch if they let him

Situational Awareness and Prove Thyself will definitely be handy perks for solo queue, just hope the killer doesn’t have Discordance. Overzealous was recently buffed as well and even gives you 16% repair speed when cleansing hexes, it works great when combined with counterforce and even more if the Killer is using Pentimento as it counts as a hex cleanse.

Toolboxes definitely have more value than before and I think more people should consider using them over flashlights. My current survivor build for solo q is:

True and the OP should recognize that the teabagging Meg is only representative of that one teabagging Meg but I do understand why the OP is annoyed.

A few months ago I had a David with No Mither so I dropped them a few times (4 or 5) and only hooked them twice since I assume anyone running No Mither is probably doing an achievement or Rift challenge. The David teabagged me at the Hatch and said gg ez in chat.

I just responded that we were on the Game and he left on death hook through Hatch with three gens up so there was really nothing to be proud of.

I was annoyed and I think that's understandable. For good survivors it should be apparent many times when the Killer is easing up. I don't blame the OP for being annoyed with the Meg.

The fallacy I think the OP is making is generalizing the Meg to all survivors. That and the last paragraph in the original post is pretty cringeworthy.

There's no fallacy here. You think I don't know the difference between this Meg and every other survivor?

My guy, I'm just saying my generosity was trampled on and I won't be putting myself in that situation anymore. Simple as that.

Do you want them to start crouch near your legs immediately begging for mercy and then cry in endgame chat in thankfulness when you let them leave? Not everyone want your mercy, that's happening. Not everyone wants communicate with you after a hard and exausting game. Some of them will just crouching repeatedly in "I don't want to fight anymore, kill me already and let me go in the next game" way.

Either be mercy (then any crouching of frustrated and destroyed survs doesn't matter for your solid mature decision to spare them) or don't call it mercy. If you want a validation and a big "thank you" then... well, not this time, I guess?

You know what you can also do? Kill all of them in your normal cruel way and then type in endgame chat smth like "sorry, I really wanted to give you hatch but the last game was so miserable I kinda had to kill you :ccc". Profit. Survs know how mercyfull you are in depth of your soul and they can blame some other survs for your cruelness. Then you can feel valid and laugh in villain. But you can use that strat if you have a very VERY white coat only. Please be careful, such whiteness is eye damaging.

Thanks for making me aware of my options.

mmr isn't broken when you lose but just how inconsistent it is kinda fells broken, all I really want is just a fair game for both sides which I don't have anymore

MMR runs opposed to queue times, since most players would prefer to play SOME game than sit around waiting for a perfectly matched one. In this patch while survivors are licking their wounds, queue times are basically destroying any sense of MMR and that's by design.

Imagine if the more you repaired a gen, the more your Tamagotchi grows. That would be sick.

Man my tamagotchi is swelling just thinking about it!

  • There is no point to this post. It's just a long meandering account of your experience. It doesn't match the title. We all have experiences like this and we didn't quit. What was your point?

he picked killer, got into the match

    first down, survivor dc'd

second down, put her on hook and stared at her, when survivor came to unhook, downed and slugged.

chased after the last 2 who were running in the same direction, downed one, left on the ground, chased after the last, downed the last survivor, put her on the hook, put the third person he downed onto the hook, and the last person bled to death from being on the ground for so long.

has a dc counter for how many people rage quit against him.

honestly, watching all of that go down i have no doubt in my mind the issue with this game is getting worse and more people are gonna quit. it was filthy to watch.

OK man keep us posted on what the streamer does next!

  • "guys I think mmr is broken because sometimes I lose!"

Once you have 500 hours in this game, you should know all you need to reach a soft skill cap. You aren't new anymore. More hours won't mean better players. Mmr working fine.

  • I get to play however I want. Homegirl wanted to tbag at the hatch when she knew I held her fate in my hands. So I just won't take that chance again. It was more fun slugging and securing kills anyway. After getting millions of bloodpoints and tons of prestige characters in the past few weeks, I thought I'd ease up on the points and "no mercy" playstyle and try to let survivors have some fun and enjoy some mercy. And I was shown the futility of that kind gesture.

So now I'll make them pay. I'll let them bleed while they crawl around. I'm play my plague slowdown build and my skill check doctor and my basement hag and I'll make sure everyone has a horrible time.

And there's nothing you can do to stop me.
