There is no point in doing the 6 second swap if the killer locked....
Survivors can, and will switch in last 6 seconds so killers do not have time to change perks, for example Lightborn.
-
wait, we cant change killers in new MMR?
any links to info on this new MMR?
-
wait, so killers will have to get each killer to red ranks separately?
when is this coming?
ANy link to info on new MMR?
I play a lot but not sure if play enough to get all killers to red ranks every month just to not play in low rank?

In my experience, it's the ones who are growling and crouching, like role playing the killer more than being a normal killer running toward you. They will crouch and try to interact, growling as they hide behind a corner is usually a giveaway, they hook everyone for BBQ and then let you go it seems. I do that as Pink Bunny Legion sometimes.

yes
Quite a lovely experience, on The Game map too

Hopefully one day these things make it to the roadmaps

That’s pretty offensive.
If im on the basement hook and I don’t have a flashlight, or Urban, and if I try to crawl after being unhooked and not set off traps, only to not get far because Hag is at the top of the stairs already, what “High IQ” thing should I do?
Or are we just back to encouraging suiciding first hook because there’s no real point trying? Because that’s healthy for the game isn’t it?
This thread contains people with IRL life attackls regarding someones real life, due to playing Hag Basement Build.
I dont think posts like that have a place in the forum. Forgive me for having class and expecting more from humans.

why did they patch this then mentioning "only survivors" could do it?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IXU9ATCBUJ8F/image.png
in that loogic, this thing of my discussion should get patched too since nly killers can reach it, one team can but not the other.
I am not familiar with that issue, devs have addressed map design holes for years and the soft ban 3 strikes system you have now was literally implimented so survivors were not banned by the tens of thousands because twitch streamers were showing them where all the asylum map exploits were (they couldnt be hit)
If you have questions regarding Dev decisions, may want to ask them, since I have no idea about that particular issue. Never heard about it, and I don't do those type of survivor things.
Sometimes when I drop from things as killer, I land on top of things below, its common and not really exploting anything. I fell on top a generator last night as Ash, its not an exploit, it just happened due to the RNG of map design. But I was literally standing on top the generator, yay! Bad exploiter hacker!!!
-
Not an exploit at all, falling from heights in games often allows you to land on objects. It does not equal an exploit.
An exploit is using a bug, this is not a bug at all and just considered falling from heights onto something.
In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, speed or level design etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1] Exploits have been classified as a form of cheating; however, the precise determination of what is or is not considered an exploit can be controversial. -

Because killers have made a big deal about it being OP and needing to be removed from the game so survivors that weren't using it are now trying it out to see what the fuss is about?
As a killer I can vouch for this.
Whenever streamers/forum posts make videos about perks and it becomes viral, people start running those perks. It happens with exploits and anything in the game really.
When someone rants about a topic for hours daily to thousands of people you are correct, peoplestart checking it out

PVP games are known for their toxicity, expecting DbD to be a playground of angels who don't taunt and swear at each other is a bit positive in the face of reality.

And how is it the survivors fault if the game got taken hostage? the killer is tombstone myers and obviously didnt look around hard enough just kept patrolling 3 gens or afk'ing. Its AS MUCH AS THE OP FAULT as it is the survivors for the game getting taken hostage. So OP needs to stop acting like a victim in all this.
Survivors can indeed report a killer for taking the game hostage.
If you are being held hostage in the game with eitherside not progressing the game, it is reportable.
I had a Claudette keep me on swamp map for over an hour back when Swamp Map was larger, and since then I have no tolerance for such behavior.
In your example, the myers is actively doing his part, though. Not holding game hostage

I didn't miss a word of it but thx for assuming. Whether in animation or not. Its a escape tactic...
What was the point to the rebuttal?
One might ask what was the point of your rebuttal considering you said it didnt apply to you, so if it didnt apply to you, why the need to retort?
You assumed I did not play the game for fun, hence my response. Run along, if my post wasnt directed at you, didnt apply to you, then it does not have anything to do with you.
-
Best thing a killer can do, imo, is forget the term SWF exists and just play your best.
I get spanked sometime, with 1 or 0 kills, sometimes I absolutely destroy the team and feel bad and give the 4th one hatch because I killed all 5 before they did a single gen
Getting upset about the loss will ruin your mood and day,

I assume its to incentive survivors to stack up on generators, and not split up and do generators seperetely.
Because if you have played killer in high ranks before you will know that survivors splitting up is a godamn nightmare due to the sheer speed at which generators pop.
I doubt it, considering how fast it used to be. They slowed it all down now but 4 stack on a gen with prove thyself used to be like what 17 seconds? LOL
If they were trying to make people not stack, they were doing it wrong and had to change it into what we have today, it used to be faster

its alright, you do you :) I'm in general fine with everyone using the perks that they chose to use, bc at the end they paid for the game and dlcs not me ;)
Just wanted to add, that it didnt really do anything against really good players and probably annoying af if you're just starting dbd.
yep, long ago I think I was watching a streamer, dont even recall name, and his advice on ruin as survivor was "use it to get better with great skill checks, dont go look for a totem, just hammer through it," so I started to play survivor that way. THink it was Angrypug.... but maybe not.
I also stayed away from using Whispers due to killers like Marth who said "you need to be able to track without it, sure it helps, but learn to track first or you run the risk of relying on whispers, "so I never ran whispers or ruin tbh
BUt I did get better hitting those great skill checks LOL

Honestly old ruin was a lazy mans perk, just equip it and hope for the best. On low (meaning rank 10-20) it was really powerful bc they either cant hit skillchecks yet or are not experienced enough for the great ones. Against good red ranks it was less effective, due to them hitting great skill checks consistently.
Also finding totems is not that easy on all maps even for experienced players. (mostly open) maps like auto heaven, macmillan, coldwind, red forest or crotus prenn its easy, (mostly closed/indoor) maps like hawkins, lerys, the game, dead dawg or midwich its pretty difficult.
PGTW has a requirement and a max usage of 12 times. I think its in a pretty good spot rn, because of the hook requirement.
I have a long documented history in forums of not running any hex perks tbh, never ran ruin, never relied on it. I only started to use Pop when pop came out because it relied on rewarding killer for playing good.

I think 15 minutes is long enough mine was a hour so quit your survivor bias bs. You wouldnt like if i trapped you in a corner as wraith and didnt let you leave. I mean im not holding the game hostage theres other survivors that can do gens right and youll die to the egc? Well peanits confirmed this is bannable as well.
Anyone with a brain can see holding the game hostage for over an hour, falls within the definition of holding a game hostage.

Isn't the game supposed to be fun? Flashlights are in the game so it's a counter. Survivors also can't hit the killer with it. We can only run...
Both sides whine about everything. Putting all survivors in a pool saying we do it to just be toxic is a bit judgemental on a survival game. Lol
I do not play toxic in any way. I respect players who respect the game and the players in it. We are all here because the game is awesome. Yet we have a growing toxic community.
I have experienced plenty of toxic behavior from both sides. Lets face it. There is just a bunch of azzhats out there.
Fighting in the community does nadda. Instead play right. Support the devs and your dbd community. Positive input leads to more of a success than negative. Js....
You must have missed the part where I said, because youre locked in an animation, which is why its considered a toxic/scummy play?
If you dont do it then its not directed at you?
I run around as a pink bunny stabbing people and giving hatch, I love fun,

"I don’t recall anybody complaining about FF being able to down them so I don’t get why that was taken away? It just seems like a weird thing to do."
Which is why you see me constantly say "devs made changes that had nothing to do with backwards chase cheese"
That was ALL that needed to be addressed, the "infinite mending" addons was such an easy fix and required zero changes to the killer itself.
Instead we got, 4 second stun + blind, 20 second power cooldown, miss attack stun etc,... cant even list all the changes, majority of which did not address either exploit.

I’m not gullible but I know all my friends who started playing the game were awful at hitting skill checks and Ruin made it almost impossible for them. It was easy to bypass at high ranks but not at lower ranks so I personally understand why it was tweaked. I actually think the current Ruin is stronger because it actually puts more pressure on survivors.
My point was, if you cant hit skill checks, you most certainly can hit W and go look for a totem.
Using "cant hit skill checks" as a reason to change something illustrates without doubt the player lacks skills, its not the games fault. I mean, its literally called "skill check" oh the irony.
Super Mario Bros design on NES had a Goomba come at you as soon as you start, forcing the player to learn the first motion in the game, "jump"
If a player cannot learn to jump, then its them not the game fault.

I completely understand why they removed the moonwalking exploit. But I don’t get why they removed the ability to down with FF? Watching the Monto video actually made me a little sad as I completely forgot it was a thing and now I want it back.
Us Legion players have felt that sadness every day. Which is why you see my posts hoping for his power to be addressed one day again.
If you were around during that time you know it was a rushed decision, pushed out quickly to try and quell and combat the amount of twitch streamers promoting and showing how to do the backwards cheese to pressure the devs. I saw it day after day, streamers with 1000s of viewers were like "maybe this will force the devs to delete Legion" so they did the backwards cheese all day on stream causing others to do it. Devs reacted by totally destroying his feral frenzy.
Meanwhile those of us who actually played and loved legion were like "man you guys are terrible and should be banned"
Instead, no-name players who did the exploit and the exploit when you had infinite mending etc, were banned, but these streamers are still live, and have never been reprimanded despite being scummy and causing the entire ordeal to be worse.
I blame them for what happened to legion.

@TheLastGreatStar said:
They said they changed Ruin because it wasn’t fair on newer players who couldn’t hit skillchecks. PGTW doesn’t make hitting skillchecks more difficult so I can’t see why they’d need to change it.
"They said they changed Ruin because it wasn’t fair on newer players who couldn’t hit skillchecks."
. If anything new players should be able to run around and do a totem, reeasons like "new players miss skill checks" only believed by the gullible.
-
As I, and many others have posted many times, the Legion changes had nothing to do with the chasing backwards cheese. They aded all kinds of punishing nerfs to Legion, that had zero to do with the exploit they were addressing.
"Why?" you ask, thats what Legion players have been asking since the day it happened.
We stopped asking why long ago and now await our time of revenge.
We shall be lethal again one day, "when?" is the real question.
-
If it does, it was a trap all along.
Nerfing PGTW because more people run it now, BECAUSE of the ruin changes, seems like a trap considering one caused the other.

Would 100% be abused by players running BT as always.

It’s alright saying that YOU play around it, but whenever I get caught by it, it’s because a teammate has opened the gate, which is something I can’t stop lol.
I recently had an AFK Bubba who ‘came back to life’ once the last gen popped with NOED and I knew he had Blood Warden but didn’t realise it’s now been changed that if one gate is open it also affects the other one. That definitely caught me off guard. 😂
100% agree, the last time I can remember getting hit with Blood Warden was becuse a teammate opened gate but that was prior to my recent 10 month break so it was over a year ago.
You are correct there
-
I am a killer main so when I play survivor, I always play around things like Blood Warden. Have not gotten trapped by it in a very long time. Being a killer player allows me to make decisions based on what a killer would do or is doing in a situation. The main perks I play as if all killers have, nurses, BBQ, Blood Warden, and noed.
-
Console players act as if there are not a ton of PC gamers who use controllers when playing DbD.
USB controllers exist console players,.... side note, I havent purchased a console since the PS1 LOL
-
BBQ was added to encourage killers to not camp, therefore it has unique power conditions and benefits.
WGLF was added so survivors can literally double their points by getting hit,.... LOL
Be thankful for the points and that there is less camping, BBQ wasnt added to make killers more powerful it was added to address the insane amount of camping in the old days when it was added, you think camping is bad now? LOL

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/173475/2v8-with-the-upcoming-crossplay
2v8 can’t work.
Why?
Because any killer + Doc would be 100% broken. The survivors absolutely wouldn’t stand a chance dealing with Static Blast & Madness afflictions PLUS dealing with another killer also able to track screams and failed skill checks.
It just couldn’t work. It wouldn’t matter if there were 8 survivors in the trial. Doc with any other killer on the roster would mean none of the survivors stand a chance.
Custom games none of that matters, balance doesnt matter, the game already works with two killers so it should be fine.
No one is asking for balance, they asking for a Battle mode with more players, and I dont see a problem with theorycrafting in this manner.
In custom games for tournaments etc you can simply say "No Docs" the way they ban killers and perks for tourneys
-
Honestly, I don't even read the lore. I stay away from games with too much story and cut scenes etc,... just not my thing.
-
Devs have stated their aim to make the game more fun, to do this they added fun things like Pink Elephant Clown, Bunny Legion, Bunny Feng, and the pinnacle of fun - The Muppet Handed Ash.
How can one consider these things fun when a killer is a mute, misunderstood, and muzzled with no way to convey our emotions?
At minimum can we point? How can the aim be fun, with no killer emotes?
-
@ich_häng_mal_rum said:
That‘s how the game works.
The 2/2 is not a win, a win depends on all categories (chase, hooks, defend gens). The point is 4k is not a save win, so you can fast kill 4 survivor and still blackpip, cause you do not enough for all categories. That’s what a lot of killer don’t understand: you can have multiple survivors, have chases and kills and one or two escapes and you would pip and it’s a „gg“ for all five player. And if you have games with a black pip or loosing a pip, it’s fine, next game will be better.
"That‘s how the game works."
Well aware, I literally posted "thats how the game tallies points"
My point was in a game where 2k is considered a tie, its misleading, because its by all counts a loss for the killer, and all 4 survivors could actually pip up meaning win for them, loss for killer.
-
This thread illustrates one of the main divides in the game.
You can sit all day, like I do and say "eh I got 25k, 4 stacks of BBQ and killed 2" thats a win for me,... but truth is, it is a loss.
A 2k is a loss for a killer, not a tie. The game wins are based on 4 categories that equate to a very simple way of deciding if you won or not. Pip or no pip.
Killer can kill 3 and still not pip. So judging kills as a measure of winning is inaccurate it is misleading players into what consists of a win or loss.
I dont have suggestions on how to fix it, but anyone can see there is a problem here somewhere.
If you dont pip in this game, you didnt win, thats how the game is designed, thats how it tallies points.
-
Not a single killer needs a "rework"
They should have numbers adjusted, but nothing like we saw with Freddy.
I rather them just make a new killer than rehack and destroy old killers with new ideas.
Freddy was a prime example of what I never want to see again.
You can simply make clown deadly by decreasing his reload bottle time, no need to "rework all his addons and change his power entirely"
Go create a new killer if you want new mechanics, leave old killers as they are and adjust their numbers,
#NOMOREREWORKS
-
@Nurgling7 said:
Why do killers just have to accept ENTITY DISPLEASED at 2k when Survivors cant accept a win if they die?
Not to mention all 4 survivors could pip in that situation too, even upon death. I die regularly in survivor games, but I pip even if I die LOL which technically, by game design = win.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
It’s true. They tell survivors that escaping doesn’t matter and yet they always feel tilted by a 2k.
Its ironic because people say Clown is underpowered yet its easy to get a 2k with him. Killer mains define balanced as the killers that can get the 4k consistently.
Reason is simple, because killers are told
2k = tie
3k = you get teabagged and "gg ez"
4k = win
-
Honestly, I do not want to see clown mechanics changed like we have seen with Freddy, soon to be Bubba/Billy and others,....
Change his numbers around etc like the recent bottle toss with no slowdown, great, but do not just go and change him and change his power, and give him dream snares or something none of us want.
YUou could simply change his reload time and make him way more deadly, there is no need to change a killer entirely like they did with Freddy.
I never want that to happen to another killer again.
Hands off CLown, I started playing him because tyhey changed Freddy and dont want to see him given the same treatment.

You say that as if survivors care how fun something is for killers.

If someone DC on their 2nd hook or down, do they spawn in needing 2 hooks or full health needing 3 hooks?
So if I down Claudette at begin of match and do not hook her, she DC, a new bot will spawn in that I then need to down 3 times too?

They won't let you change it because its actually an Ad.

It is okay to feel these emotions young Legion.
You are feeling the frustration of a killer punished by their creator for the actions of a minority of the user base who enjoyed this wonderful, and top notch killer.
One day though, rest assured we shall have our return. Old debts shall be paid, old revenge will come to fruition and Legion will one day be freed from the shackles, and unleashed into the fog with a new fury that only downed survivors can satisfy.
One day Legion. One day
