Insulting? Sure bud, when this excuse makes you sleep better tonight lol
There was zero need to call me a "big boi", so yes, as far as I'm concerned, its only purpose was to insult me, which is not necessary.
You don't win arguments by insulting the other party.

Because Lithe works on every map, lol. There aren't windows everywhere. Try that on the Game map, with only 3 windows, or even the new map Hawkins, I've seen maybe one or two in that one. Lithe isn't as useful as BL. The only way it would ever become as useful is if it increased vault speed on top of it's current effects, because BL prevents the stagger from falls as well. Lithe would still suffer on a few maps, but at least pallet vaulting would be somewhat useful. I used to use Lithe religiously, and while the build you're talking about is good, it's extremely situational. You need LOS blockers, as well as windows. Most windows that you can fast vault without taking a hit have nothing on the other side of them but open space. Basically you need specific maps with specific setups to make it work. Oh and by the way these new pallet changes that are coming, hurt Lithe as well, because they're trap pallets. Vaulting them guarantees a hit from the killer. So they're nerfing Lithe with them, which is already extremely situational.
Besides, it's like someone else said, it isn't like killers don't have a million aura reading perks(let's not forget addons) that are useful, as well as Whispers. The only way stealth could LEGITIMATELY work would be to remove aura reading from killers, but they're not gonna do that.
What exactly do you think you'll accomplish by grossly exaggerating stuff and/or even making up some? Simple fact-checking shows that most of what you just said isn't true:
Lithe DOES work on every Map as every Map DOES have Windows.
Hawkins has many vaults spots that technically count as Windows.
There are no new Pallet changes coming and the only Killer to have Trap Pallets is Freddy. Even in that case, you can counteract that by running Small Game, which will tell you which Pallet is a Trap and which isn't.
Vaulting a Pallet never guarantees a hit.
Lithe has no incoming nerfs to itself.
Killers do not have a million Aura-reading Perks and even if, they can still only run 4 at the most and no combination gives them constant Aura-reading on the Survivors. There are also numerous ways you can use Killer Aura-reading to your advantage, by leading them on a false trail, in addition to completely blocking the Aura-reading by simply entering a Locker or getting outside of the Terror Radius.
Whispers only tells the Killer that somewhere within a large circle around them, there is a Survivor. That's literally it. It gives no direction or anything.
There are numerous successful stealth Survivor players out there and even several ones that run Object of Obsession. If the Killer's ability to see your Aura were as dangerous as you try to make it out to be, neither successful stealth nor OoO Survivors should exist, yet they do. I'm sorry, but Aura-reading is nowhere near as much as a threat as you claim.
-
The irony of your username though.
Sorry, but I agree with what has been said above: there is no reason to scream bloody murder because ONE Killer has a benefit against a specific Perk, especially not if there is a valid reason for why he has that advantage.

Maybe you should realize that the maps in DBD are supposed to have resources to help Survivors survive. Your "jukes" and "LOS breaking" is quite literally useless, if the Killer knows what he's doing.
I've tried it before.
So you tried and failed, fair enough, but what keeps you from trying again? You'll never improve if you just give up. Jukes are essential for situations in which you have few remaining pallets or are caught out in the open, which can happen in every trial you encounter, especially towards endgame situations.
Do you just give up if you have no pallets left in your area?
And sorry, but even the best Killers can be juked by skilled Survivors. Saying otherwise is simply an easy excuse to not wanting to spend time to improve a skill that is difficult and tedious to obtain and master.
Those resources you speak of are not just pallets and windows, line of sight blockers also account for them, otherwise we could just as well just have Maps filled with dozens pallets and windows and otherwise nothing else.

Killers: Well, just use jukes and line of sight break and you'll be 100% fine, even though most of the jukes you'll do are gonna be useless, since good Killers will never fall for them! :)
Game: *does something that gives the Survivors a big advantage*
Killers: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE NERF REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Maybe try taking a Killer's advice for a change than to just immediately dismiss it because you made some bad experiences with it at first.

As I said, I would record and upload it. So you only have to do this once. But keep searching for excuses big boi.
The Depip Squad recorded and published hundreds of games to prove a point. What did people do? Tried to discredit them and their point nevertheless.
Again, I have better stuff to do than to 1v1 you in a 4v1 game and there is no need for you to get insulting.

I have absolutely no idea who you are or what you want, but trying to discredit others with dubious claims about their supposed skill levels that you were able to deduce from a supposed game you played against them is extremely dishonest.

Yes, and it's not my problem that you obviously took it literally.

They could've just forgotten about the Trapper and Wraith update, but they took the time to give them something — That's my point. Sure, they aren't viable, but that's because their powers are too straightforward. :)
I'd rather have them properly rework something instead of the mostly half-hearted attempts they've done so far. Only the Freddy rework was an actual proper rework.

I'd argue it would be fair if survivor's prompt took priority because the killer already has the advantage when it comes to finding the hatch as it is. If the survivor manages to get on to it before you do, they should win.
As I said in my previous post, that could also be an option, but then for fairness' sake, the Hatch Grab would have to be re-instated.
Also, it's not about reaching the Hatch first as @anarchy753 pointed out.

While Billy, Spirit, and Nurse are arguably the only viable killers at high ranks, that does not mean the developers haven't been trying to balance the game. BHVR had made several changes over the past year such as buffing trapper, wraith, ghostface, freddy, and so on. Furthermore, BHVR did some general changes that buffed all killers such as removing pallet vacuum, increased base healing time, buffed killers perks, and added the EGC.
BHVR does care, it just takes time! :)
Trapper is still a weak Killer and Wraith isn't much better off. I don't pat the devs' back just because they attempted to do something, if the end result didn't change much or anything at all.

Are you going to accept the challenge now so I can show you that it only works against bad killers or are you going to keep talking and talking? I'm more a person of factual evidence and not "poetics"
No, because I'd just waste my time. If I'd take every request to a 1v1 just to prove a point with someone, I'd be doing nothing but that.
-
Why would any Killer want to go to red ranks anymore aside from getting the Rank 1 Achievement?
You get zero benefits from, au contraire, your games will get more miserable the higher up you claim. I dread every single double-pip I get these days, simply because it'll mean I'll get closer to those ranks at a faster rate.

Just lose line of sight against Bloodlust 3. EZ.
Just "juke" and disappear by way of pure magic. EZ.
You must be one of those God Survivors. Can we watch some of your matches to learn your sorcerous ways?
Putting aside your exaggerated scenario (you make it sound like Killers constantly get Bloodlust 3), if you let a Killer get to Bloodlust 3 in the first place, then you have done some major mistakes, for which you'll pay by getting downed. The chase mechanic is so fickle these days that unless you run around in open fields, line of sight gets broken often enough for Bloodlust to not accumulate past Level 1.And you are definitely not supposed to evade Bloodlust 3, so I'll disregard that point as an argument.
And juking is far from being a "magic trick" that'll allow you to go "pooof and disappeared". It's a particular set of skills with mind-games and using line of sight blockers to your advantage, and I'm not sure you are aware of that, otherwise I can't imagine you making such a remark, as that would be telling of a lack of knowledge about juking.

You have absolutly no right to tell I'm bad at juking. I'm playing this game since release and nearly have 3k hours with a tryhard mentality as survivor and as killer. I have more experience than the majority of this Community. Also you never saw a single gameplay of me, coming to the conclusion of my skill based on a text is quite ignorant of you.
But hey, you seem very confident with your juking skills, so do you want to do 1v1 in kyf and show me your skills? I'm quite sure it's not gonna work.
I have nothing to prove to you, neither does anyone else here.
Fair enough if I misjudged your experience, but what you tell me here actually makes it worse. I assumed a low-level of juking experience because I don't expect someone with 3k hours to have such difficulties with it (unless they never properly practised it, which is probably the case here), but rather someone who is "relatively" new and wasn't around when juking was all you had to lose a Killer.
I remain with what I originally said: improve your juking skills and you'll see that it works not just against Nurse and Huntress. Having a lot of hours does not equate being skilled at everything. I have just as many hours and still think I have room to improve my skills here and there. To assume otherwise would actually be arrogant, since you no one ever stops learning.

Well, you can't understand high level play when you don't verse the best, sorry for you mate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I kinda envy you, must be quite relaxing to play against mediocre killers most of the time, I wish I could play without looping aswell and just win lol
Unlike you, I was actually being sincere. I rely on stealth and juking much more than looping, simply because when I learnt to play Survivor, looping wasn't a thing yet and I had to learn to actually lose a Killer, regardless of their skill and rank.
I'm not trying to belittle you or be mean, I simply stated what I think to be the case: you aren't very good yet at jukes and thus believe the only Killers to fall for them are Nurse and Huntress, which isn't the case if you are skilful enough at it. Getting skilled requires time and practice, for which I wished you good luck.
Your response was quite immature and rude. I tried to help by giving you the POV of a veteran Survivor player, stating that it's a simple matter of skill and experience, and not something that just can't be done, in hopes you wouldn't give up trying and give juking another go.

With all the neon skins released for survivors, lol.
Line of sight jukes only work against Nurse and Huntress. Another killer will keep pressing W cuz you know scratch marks exists. The only way to get more distance with line of sight jukes is when the killer is mindgaming himself on the 1st "loop" at the 1st tile. Smart killers will do this mistake once, very smart and optimal killer won't mindgame at all till they are sure you stay at that looptile
Are you forced to wear the neon-skins? No? I didn't think so either.
And I truly feel sorry for you that you think you can't lose line of sight against experienced Killers, that must restrict your play style quite a bit.
May you get better at juking in the long run, so you can lose line of sight also against other Killers than Nurse or Huntress, like us veteran players still can. It's really just a question of practice and experience.
-
On both PC and console, the starting Characters are Dwight, Nea, Claudette, Jake and Trapper, Wraith, Hillbilly.
CHAPTERS I and V are free for both platforms, so their characters get added to that pool: Nea/Nurse and Huntress/David
Additionally on just the console, CHAPTERS III and IV are free as well, so their characters get added to the pool as well: Ace/Hag, Feng/Doctor. On the PC, you will have to buy those Chapters.
-
Why not both?
-
Practice makes perfect.
That's really all there is to it with Nurse, you need to play her an awful lot to master her and you will be bullied in the beginning, that's why the term Baby Nurse exists.

Interestingly:
Killers complained about exhaustion perks. Guess what got nerfed? Exhaustion.
Killers complained about self care guess what got nerfed at the same time as Sloppy got buffed to high hell and back and became meta? Self Care.
Killers complained about Mettle of Man (rightfully so that was ######### trash) and it got nerfed almost instantly.
Killers complained about generator speeds and stalling almost every killer in the last few chapters has had something to do with generators and stalling and tracking their progress? Oh and lower tiers of RUIN got buffed.
Killers complained about Decisive Strike? It got changed into an anti-tunneling perk. Interestingly enough? Killers still complain and now just slug to counter it making the game yet again unfun for survivors.
Please don't start ''Survivors complain to get our side's stuff nerfed and we're so innocent and have never done such things!"
BOTH sides should have fun, and BOTH sides should be listened too.
The most atrocious things survivors ever got nerfed were old Freddy who didn't need it and Legion. Who did need a rework, but they didn't need to destroy them to the point they were unfun to play either.
I'm not claiming things haven't gotten nerfed because Killers complained either, but the extents of the nerfs have been quite different. Aside from Mettle of Man, no Survivor Perk that was nerfed due to popular complaints ever got gutted. Killer Perks on the other hand got trashed left and right.
Do you still see people running Unrelenting that used to be meta? No, you don't.
Do you still see people running Self-Care, Exhaustion Perks, and Decisive Strike? Absolutely, since they are still very powerful Perks.
Also, don't call the changes to Self-Care a nerf, the only aspect they nerfed was the Med-Kit efficiency, they even buffed the Healing speed from 30/40/50 % to 50 % across the board, and Sloppy Butcher actually got its percentages nerfed to a level that the time it takes Survivors to heal themselves with the Healing nerf (of just 4 seconds, btw) is the exact same as the time it took them to heal before the Healing nerf.
Exhaustion Perks got nerfed because it was too strong that they could activate twice in a chase, that was not intended.
Please keep the context in mind when you try to compare nerfs, it's far from being as simplistic as you tried to make it out to be and could come across as you being dishonest about it.

Here's what I'd do to make DS better in situations you're being tunneled in while not punishing killers. :)
Bold text means it's different!
Decisive Strike
Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in an ultimate attempt to escape.
After being unhooked or unhooking yourself, Decisive Strike will become active and usable for 20/25/30 seconds.
Decisive Strike timer will pause while in a chase, in the killer's terror radius, or in the dying state.
While Decisive Strike is active, when grabbed by the Killer, succeed a skill check to automatically escape the Killer's grasp and stun them for 5 seconds.
- Succeeding or failing the Skill Check will disable Decisive Strike.
- Successfully stunning the Killer will result in you becoming the Obsession.
Increases your chances of being the Obsession. The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.
That wouldn't change much other than lower it from 60 seconds of immunity to 30. 30 is still more than enough to escape in late game with the Killer having zero means to prevent it.
Personally, I would add two conditions to DS that would actually fix the problems OP mentions:
1) Decisive Strike deactivates during the EGC.
2) Decisive Strike deactivates if another Survivor is hooked within the timer.
The first one to prevent a free escape during the EGC, as I don't think that there should be mechanics in the game that completely incapacitate the other side and guarantee you a win, and the second one since it's obvious that you aren't actually tunnelling in that scenario. If you can't reach a sufficient hiding spot with the Killer busy hooking another Survivor and lay low for a few moments, then that's on you.
EDIT: Actually, a third condition should apply as well, healing up should also deactivate since c'mon, if you had time to heal, then you weren't tunnelled.
-
Why do Survivors DC? Two reason: they don't want to figure out counters to a strong Killer and git gud, and they want the devs to nerf that Killer.
McLean has admitted that one reason Freddy and Legion received nerfs so quickly after their respective releases were their high DC-rates. It is something they factor in and Survivors have realised that as well.
There is a pattern of them shifting the complaints from Killer to Killer, always going after the next one that they deem the current Number One:
First we had complaints about Legions, he got nerfed, the complaints switched to PTB Plague.
PTB Plague received a small, but effective enough nerf to lower her potential to counteract pallet loops, resulting in her being quite a rare sight these days. The complaints stopped and switched to Nurse.
The devs announce Nurse reworks (and from experience we can assume that if anything, those will be nerfs), the complaints switched to Spirit now.

Yup jukes against killers who have a 6 foot reach.
The actual reach is farther than that, but that's not the point, since all Killers have it.
My suggestion is that you stop blaming the Killer for your mistakes and instead improve your skill at old-fashioned evading instead of relying on Pallet-spawn-RNG. It'll make you a better Survivor in the long run and endgame evading with fewer Pallets still around not necessarily a lost cause.

Which would be good... if it were actually viable.
It works on low-skill killers who are not very good at tracking or prediction, but it never really works even in purple ranks and only rarely works even in just Green.
As far as I'm concerned, you guys are not trying hard enough. I always go for old-fashioned jukes to lose line of sight. Yes it might be more difficult against an experienced Killer, that should not come as a surprise, but it's far from impossible.

Ambush was originally a basic attack, that was changed in an update, ambush and shred were affected by exposed effects despite not being a basic attack (or even intended at this point) so it is still a bug fix.
Ambush and Shred applying Exposed was indeed a bug, yes. But Ambush being a basic attack was not, it was a conscious decision, not a bug.

Based on the last couple of responses, all I can think of is that this is some weird attempt at encouraging player self-selection, instead of fixing the matchmaking itself and ensuring that players cannot be grouped with wildly different ranks.
I think it's more likely a side-effect of the new combined lobbies, since you did get to see your SWF buddies' ranks and levels in the SWF lobby.
As with the Switch to Killer button having to be disabled for the moment to prevent switching to Killer, then playing with your SWF buddies and randoms while you are the Killer, they decided to release a new feature before tidying everything up.
-
That is not a "bug fix" or "issue fix", it's a nerf.
The devs had literally programmed the Ambush attack to count as a basic attack during the PTB and now set the value from True to False. It wasn't some bugged line of code or interfering values, but rather a conscious decision.

Just because a Perk isn't meta doesn't make it low-tier.
Fixated is a nice Perk for stealth Survivors and seeing your own scratch marks can help you mind-game the Killer with them.

That is what lower settings are suppose to be used for. People who can't afford a higher end PC. Lower settings allows game devs to sell their games to more people. More money for the devs/publisher, more players for a community, and maybe a longer life or more content for the game itself.
But lower graphic settings are also used by players with higher end PCs in order to gain an advantage. Giving more FPS isn't what Im talking about either. Look at the OPs post for examples.
Longer view distance, red stain/scratch marks easier to see, less shadows, less grasses/bushes, and what not ALL give an advantage. One that people abuse to hell in most every game possible. In Ultra, a Killer could maybe miss someone in a bush or have the fog/darkness hide them. In low, the Killer could almost never miss someone trying to hide. Survivors stick out like a sore thumb in lower settings giving Killers who run on low settings (but have a good PC anyway) a slightly unfair advantage.
Survivors also can gain an advantage. The red stain being easier to see is one hell of a thing for looping the Killer. And with lower settings they can see the Killer in the distance better as well. Even stealth or hard to see Killers can't really hide that well in low settings.
Hell. Lower settings in DbD is a small fry compared to other games that had settings abuse. Planetside 2, before it got patched you could adjust the settings to remove ALL SMOKE! Smoke grenades, rocket trails, anything that was put in place to block your view was removed. People would spam smoke grenades all over the build and clean it out when everyone but them was blinded by smoke. But as it was an ini setting, it was a legal exploit that nearly ruined the game. Can't ban someone for changing their options settings.
Low settings are needed. Not saying they aren't. But I am saying that low settings are just as abused as everything else and Im a little bitter about exploit abuse. Legal or not.
I used to be able to run this game on Ultra at 60fps. Then the engine update came and Medium was the best I could do to keep 60fps. Then several other "optimisation" patches came and Low is the best now.
I suggest keeping this in mind as well. I would love to run it at Ultra again.

What it actually means is that the Survivors didn't bother to rush gens as they should have done to punish the camping Killer. If a camper gets 4 kills, the Survivors screwed up.

While that could well be the case, with all respect I would consider assuming such a thing without any real evidence to back it up to be personal a failing on your part. I believe it's a good lesson in interpersonal relations, both in games and in life, to assume good intentions unless proven otherwise.
That's my point, it was usually proven otherwise. I have more than enough experience in this game as a veteran player to know what playstyle is effective in terms of kills and which one isn't in a given trial.
But I do get your point and I wouldn't assume things without having some prior experiences.
-
I've lost most of my excitement for upcoming Chapters ever since The Legion and completely with The Plague. I no longer get any hopes up (yet still get disappointed most of the time). The new Chapter looked promising on the PTB, but that's about it. I'm not invested in the Stranger Things franchise, it's a normal licensed Chapter as far as I'm concerned.

Whenever I feel the urge to recommend a different playstyle to the killer, it's usually because they either played so badly it's obvious that they have no idea what they're doing, or because they employed a playing style which is widely known to be not very lucrative, like facecamping.
As for motivation, it's not really about rank. Most people care far more about bloodpoints than they do about rank because the former allows you to unlock more content, while the latter is fairly meaningless. As you say, it makes no difference to the survivors how many bloodpoints the killer gets, so I would assume they're just trying to be nice and give you some tips to earn more BP, since that is most people's goal. In the case of facecamping, not only do you earn more BP by not doing it most of the time but it's also a more enjoyable gameplay experience for everyone involved, so there may be an element of that to it as well.
Well, all recommendations that weren't the usual "you're such trash, l2p, tunneller/camper!!!" of salty Survivors happened after 3 or 4 kill games, so it can't be your first suggestion in my case.
I don't doubt that some Survivors occasionally have a sincere motivation to help. But quite often I can't help but think that it's more an ulterior motive on their part, to get me to play less efficiently in terms of killing potential.

So if killer plays bubba and stands in front of a hook survivor has no chances to survive. Same thing. And in lower ranks it doesnt even have to be bubba, it can be any killer. From what i understand it requires killer to stay near the hook, so after unhook happens the unhooker can take the hit.
But i do agree that this idea is a little bit off. You can gain way too much for way too little, looping killer for 60s is way too easy with good setup like shack + jungle gym.
The problem with that analogy is that there is only one Bubba and far off from every trial. If Survivors play smart there, that one Survivor will be all he'll catch.
With MoM/BT on the other hand, there is potential that all four Survivors can run them and if they become meta, they'll be run every trial. Additionally, they have the potential to get everyone out and the Killer would be completely powerless to do anything against it.
-

So if someone has Mettle of Man and Borrowed Time, rescues a Survivor during the Endgame Collapse, there is absolutely nothing the Killer could do to stop either of them leaving the trial, since they are both protected by an extra hit. Sounds totally fair and reasonable, since we all know that Killers facing situations in which they are completely stripped of any power is fine.
