Yup Never understand why killers complain so much about it. When i play killer i Just bait it out then attack.
It's not an issue when someone uses it like that, yeah.
But when they can get to another tile, you get mindgame, but they reach pallet anyway, you play killer that have short window for an attack or have power you can react to (Huntress, Deathslinger etc.), then it sucks.
When you get validated it's even worse feeling.

Current boons are
DH DS BT UB
DH DS BT UB
DH DS BT UB
DH DS Coh UB
all 4 survivors don't run boons especially in coordinated squads who all use meta
From our testing, we had better results with 2 CoH, so one is always active and killer can't do much about that.
But yeah, you don't wanna have all 4 for sure. CoH didn't really change meta build, it changed meta SWF build and it's way worse for a killer imo.
-
I don't really care about old meta.
You will always have same perks in high MMR SWF, one changed and make it worse overall, how is that better? It's same for killers, it's probably worse for survivors, because you see same killers, same perks and way more tunneling since boons.
None of those perks negates any playstyle, CoH does that and it's not good. You basically deal with 4x medkit situation every game and that is just not good and options how to deal with it are not good for neither side.

Dead hard isn’t that strong most dead hards extend a chase by all of 3 seconds
Then it's not used correctly...
Dead Hard can make your chase way longer if used right. Depends on loop around, map, killer etc.
your 3 seconds is just BS.
-
There are people that talked about each, so I am not gonna bother about that, but some of those things are super OP.
Some would be nice tho.
-
I don't think that is an exploit, that is just how collison works for him and yeah higher DPI makes it easier to reach maximum limit easier, no #########.
PC has advantages over console, nothing new. That doesn't make it an exploit.
-
That would really suck for a killer and kinda babysit survivors...
It's actually good to leave a survivor on hook for some time if noone is chased by a killer and used it to work on gens, and that's not something that should be forced.
Like end game collapse active? When you get hooked, you are ######### because survivors can't unhook you.
This change would cause a lot of problems.
And they should never create a mechanic that punishes only SWF in any way. That's just really bad for a game.

So out of roughly 200 perks you came up with a few. Soul Guards main purpose is endurance after getting up by a teammate/unbreakable (nothing to do with killer perks) then a additional bonus of getting up yourself if cursed by hex (There's one). Distortion makes sense, Calm spirit is so you don't alert crows (woodland creatures) just so happens to prevent screams which helps against certain perks/killers but not dependent on them, Sole Survivor (who the ######### cares), Franklins is items not perks, and Lightborn is also Flashlight/items just so happens 20 killers later helps with Blast Mine/Flashbang.
Perks value can go up or down depending on who your playing/their loadout but nothing dependent on perks except a couple aura reading perks.
I didn't say there is lot of them, I said they exist...

That is patently false. Any killer can effectively camp given the right perks, add-ons, hook location, and/or other factors. Other examples just based on killer powers: Hag, Billy, Pyramid Head, Deathslinger, Huntress, and Trickster. And soon to be our new hit-from-anywhere-on-the-map killer.
Not really.
Bubba is only killer that you just can't do anything about, you need multiple survivors to save that one person usually.
None of those killers can down both with single use of their power even against BT.
Trickster has good hook defense, that's true, but still weaker than bubba imo.
Huntress, not any hook, but basement is good with her.
Deathslinger? How so, he sucks at it. Never had issue with camping Deathslinger
Pyramid Head, can hit both survivors actually, that's why you need BT... But PH tunneling is really good
Hag, that is more proxy camping, basement is hard to deal with, but normal hooks are not really issue imo, you can always have a flashlight
Billy, that is just weaker version of bubba for camping, can't down both, he can't do much against multiple survivors

That get no value unless the other side bring a specific perk? I really don't think so.
Soul guard, Distortion, Calm Spirit, Sole Survivor.
Frenklyn's demise, Lightborn are limited by perks.
Then you have lot of perks where value changes based on other side's actions. Also SWF vs SoloQ
-
@chargernick85 said:
Personally I hate them but I also don't have a problem with them.....yet anyhow. This is the wrong way to "Fix" them anyhow. No sides perks should be dependant on the other sides perks....If that makes sense. Hope I said that right haven't even finished my Red Bull yet.
I mean there are perks that are dependant on the other side, but I agree that this is not a way to fix them.
-
I see that you are just trying to use Soul Guard style, but Soul Guard has huge effect on top of hex requirement part.
CoH is broken imo, but this is really not the way.
This would make it 100% useless.
-
That's terrible idea...
-
Only killer that can ruin your day with camping is bubba, otherwise just do gens and try 1 for 1 before reaching second stage etc.
Camping is not really an issue imo. So far I have played only against few killers that actually camped from 5 gens, but even most of them were just going full meme and never leaving basement etc.
-
Yeah, survivors should bleed out faster. Fixed
I love to give survivors option to snitch. They do it quite a lot...
Unless multiple survivors were annoying during that game, I always give hatch.

There's definitely balance issues, and I understand your frustrations all too well, but nothing's gonna change for a long time.
They work around statistics and the casual audience, most of which won't even enter these forums. Just check the views for each thread here. How many views? Couple hundred? Compared to the many tens of thousands of players every day, we're a drop in the ocean.
Their balancing methods work too, as much as I hate to admit it.
As long as they keep attracting new people and retaining their casual audience by creating a good friendly experience for them the game will stay pretty lively. That also means more money for more content.
I'm actually pretty certain if they balanced for the more experienced players, they'd kinda shoot themselves in the foot. Balancing based on ranks could be good, but there's no real financial incentive to do it.
---
My advice is to let loose a bit on expectations.
Accept this game will never be competitive and think of it as more of a casual party game than anything.
Then you can start enjoying all the jokes it has to offer instead of dwelling on them.
"Accept this game will never be competitive"
I still think it's wrong to balance around trash.
Big Data balancing was never good...

There are worse things survivors can do.
My worst game so far was 4x shadowstep, 4x CoH, 4x iron will, 2x BT / 2X Dead Hard + Map to find totems and RPD map offering.
4x Blast mine, when I was Eruption build wraith was a lot of pain too...

Yes and in that moment the killers time is twice as valuable as survivors. Not a constant 4 times as people here so often say.
Also I don't go looking for boons. I deal with them if i hear them. At the very worst i might go to a totem spot i know if i notice survivors scratchmarks dissapearing but that's about it. But most of the time i don't go out of my way to find them.
I especially wouldn't go looking for boons with only a single survivor on hook and 2-3 potential survivors on gens. When a survivor is on hook is the prime time to pressure. Then you don't go totem hunting.
Aimlessly wandering looking for boons with how much of a time pressure killers have does seem like a good way to lose.
I usually don't have time to snuff them ever, unless those survivors put them next to gen, or I hooked survivors next to it.
My main issue with boons is that there is little reason for a killer to snuff them, it's just not worth it to lose chase or leave gens for it.
And it's not like those effects are small, CoH is broken imo and there is just no way to get rid of it unless you tunnel that player.
We usually use 2 players with CoH, so there is always at least 1 active and it's just OP when everyone can heal alone.

DS is used because most killers tunnel. BT gets used because most killers camp. DH gets used because it's the only exhaustion perks you can control. Please list any other "broken" survivor perks so I can tell you what killers do to make them get run. It's your behavior that made the meta.
Unbreakable (with DS of course), CoH, toolboxes, med-kits is good start...
It's not true that DH is only exhaustion perk you can control, I like Lithe with WoO... You just want it, because it's easy.
I can say it's your behavior that made killers to tunnel and camp...
Fact is that you use second chance perks with an excuse that you need (because of killer of course)
I don't care about BT, unless you try to annoy me with it, then I will wait for you... you had option to leave.
I don't care about DS after nerfs, because it's hard to abuse.
DH is annoying when I get validated, because I have under 30 ms, so I just don't feel it's deserved...
CoH and 4x medkits is just pain and main reason why I stopped playing killers that much, it negates hit&run and 3-gen tactic and I just don't want to tunnel each game, it's boring.
Another reasons are just SBMM, Boon mechanic and some undeserved killer nerfs...

If that seems impossible for you then that explains your point of view
Regardless of how possible you find it to accomplish pushing them off. The survivors time is only valuable if they are on gens.
If no survivors are on gens then you can do whatever you want as killer. You will never lose. So you can't say that at that point their time is 4x as valluable. Can you?
The less survivors on gens the less valuable their time becomes as gens are their only escape route. It's not rocket science.
1x survivors is on hook, 1x is going for unhook, 2x are on gens.
Killer is searching for boon totem, then you have 0 killers chasing and protecting gens.
You see how it matters? Killer can't do both. Whenever he decided to deal with boon, he lost chase, or he is leaving gens. Survivors should always have 1 on gen, if they don't, they ######### up.

Or... Ignore the perk entirely unless you come across it, and focus on downing the person you're chasing. There is no compulsion demanding you drop everything to make sure survivors can't heal in half the time. BTW, the time it took to cast the boon and to heal... Is how long it takes to self care, basically. It's really not worth running aside from the novelty of it.
Well, you are just wrong here.
You completely ignore the fact that you also gives that effect to every other survivor. CoH is basically two perks, so whenever boon is active, survivors have 23 perks total...

The problem is that you assume you should be able to pull out a win regardless of circumstances. I will repeat what every killer doesn't seem to understand. You can't win the all. Sometimes you lose. Accept that it's not because of a single perk, but because of an entire game that got you into this situation. NOED gets killers undeserved kills all the time. Deal with it.
I don't expect to win every game, but it's annoying to lose against survivors who gets carried by perks and items...
There is something survivors don't seems to understand. Killers want to have fun too, you are not playing against AI. They use most broken ######### and then are suprised when killer starts to tunnel.
Sorry, you argument doesn't change in any way that CoH is broken.
"Oh no, you should just get used to losing."
Nope
"regardless of circumstances"
The #########, you think that one perk should be enough to justify killer losing? How does that makes sense, it's supposed to be contest of skill, not contest who brings better perks.

Did you just say that Pyramide Head has no counterplay? Serious?
Just play him once and you know what survivors can do against you power even since you can no longer cancle his ability into an auto-hit. Also evading his power is quit possible. Most survivors I faced as Pyramide Head lost because they vaulted or dropped a pallet while I was charging or because they went out of their way to evade torment...

Across the map you can actualy jump into lockers. Her crows can only damage you once you are marked unless you are at close range.
If they want to nerf her this would be the easy way to go: Crows only damage marked targets, the first hit is always a mark. However I do not think this is needed. Her birds are a projectile after all and nerfing the projectile speed would be the way to go as well as removing the damage of stationary crows.
That would suck a lot.
When you use 2 crows you get 9 seconds CD, repel action is 8 second. If they did this, repel action wouth have to be way longer, so you actually have chance to use your power for second time.
-
Always repel crows asap if possible
Hold W

Well, quite a lot of good killers gave up on dbd, or just switched to survivors

Not really no, at least in my experience, because when it comes to killers like PHead, Huntress, wraith or other killers who use abilities in a chase then using it blocks bloodlust. Plus breaking or being stunned by a pallet kills your bloodlust. (edit here) [And to that point bloodlust rarely, for me, ever actually builds up.]
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2632101#Comment_2632101
I wouldn't say to make it so strong that it'd make it impossible to have a long chase, just a little boost to make chases not as boring and slightly more unpredictable. It'd also help with just holding W on maps like Midwitch so over time if its frequent they keep getting chased they get a little less distance so you aren't just running in a straight line forever.
I really hate RNG things, I want to be able to predict outcomes.
It would be hard to tell if I can make another loop, when I trip for some reason....
Bloodlust helps m1 killers, yes killer powers remove Bloodlust, but those powers usually help you to down survivors.
There is no reason to bring mechanic to nerf chases, there are other ways to help killers without any major punishment to survivors.
I want to down survivors because I was better there, not because they tripped at bad time.

The nerf brought him down from low B tier to mid-high C tier. His already meh chase was obliterated with the old uncloak boost combined with the nerfed uncloak movement speed. With boon totems, hit & run Wraith isn't as good as survivors can just heal themselves at the totem, and Wraith's chase is just horrible now.
I would kinda understand if it was made in different patches, but it was in same patch.
Perk that counters hit&run and nerf that makes it harder for Wraith to commit...

That nerf rly hurt him in short to medium loops. Survivors can now make it to the pallet or window before you can unlock (at least without add-ons). The nerf for base kit was bad move imo.
Yeah, I understand that add-on nerf, but his lunge was best thing about him and reason to play him.
It's kinda sad that they thought it's good idea to nerf him in same patch where they add perk that is going to be direct counter to his play-style...
-
This would be super annoying and make soloQ even worse.
I love long chases, that's the best thing about survivors. So mechanic that makes you lose chases faster and there is nothing you can do about it, no.
Bloodlust can help with that, but survivors can actually play around bloodlust.
-
He actually used to be decent, but I just have no idea why they nerfed his base-kit.

but my friend we mus think outside of the box. i have multiple experiences with and against the perk.
CoH increases healing. you can still hit multiple survs they'll just heal. as they normally would. i've 3 genned against CoH and won multiple times.
the slug one ony really matters if you leave them in the boon zone or let them crawl away. you can always re down anyways.
shadowstep is a hit or miss honestly.
i'd say you don't have to commit, but just make sure you know and what you cannot do.
It's huge difference if they are forced to spend time of two players to heal, or when everyone can self-heal.
3-gen depends on map / killer. Unless it's really good 3-gen where 2 of them are next to eachother, then you shouldn't win that unless you don't have like really good killer for it. Maybe they just didn't play against it correctly? At that point one mistake from them can cost them that game. Not that many survivors are willing to run into deadzone away from gens.
-
@Bran said:

i see it as there only being 3 boons that you are able to guess and adjust to each without changing your play style too much.
kinda like DH, many players use it so you might wait a few seconds before hitting the surv to down them just in case.
so in this situation, you know there is a boon in play so you can probably guess which effect it has and play accordingly.
You have one boon that counters hit&run + 3-gen -> CoH
then you have boon to counter slugging -> that new one
then you have boon that makes it harder to commit -> shadows step is only perk you can tell for 100%, because you just see it.
Only option how to play against that is to commit to each chase, which is not viable for most killers, so you just have to camp / tunnel to get pressure...

I think that Blight might be good in the hands of top 0,1% players and still they often loose their trials (check Lilith for exemple).
But at a standard level, let's say top 10%, he is terrible. Most Blight i face get 0k to 1k. When survivors know how to counter the Blight, he cannot do anything unless if you have 1000h with him of course.
Spirit is easily countered now, the phase is short, you can hear from where she comes etc... you can dodge chases against her when you hear her coming, just hide walking and she lost you even before finding you.
Yes she is considered as a top 3 killer, it doesn't mean she has a chance at high level. She is considered top 3 because PH, Ceno, Trapper or Clown are garbage at high Level but still she is not viable even though she is more viable than other killers.
In a world where everyone is blind, being a one eyed is top tier 😂
Well, killer's strength should not be based on bad players. Same for perks.
Is Nurse bad killer for same reason? She is way harder than Blight imo, but Blight is still quite hard to get used to, but it's definetly worth it.
Isn't Phase duration exactly same as before? Yeah, you can hear her, but she is still way faster. You need good headset to play her tho.
Just because any killer is top3 doesn't mean they have a chance at high level. Even best Nurse players often get destroyed on tournaments...
-
@JohnWeak said:

Even plague is weak. When you face survivors that know that they have to not use fountains, you end up with a whole team of injured survivors with DH or Lithe, knowing how to loop, that will heal only when 1 gen is left.
As they didn't use fountains, you don't have your power and so you are just a simple standard speed M1 killer that can do nothing in chases...
Plague is good against average survivor but once you have reach a certain MMR level, it's also impossible to do anything.
The only viable killer is the Nurse atm, only killer that can really compete without camping.
Spirit is utter garbage now, easy to outplay, Blight is terrible as well, when i see Lilith struggling with him, i know he is a weak killer.
Why do you think Blight is weak?
He is probably second best killer now.
Spirit is still really good imo. There are loops where you are now forced to break pallet first, but that's it.

You can guess your MMR. If you win most of your game (3k or escape), you rank up, if you keep ranking up for weeks, you are definitely high MMR.
you can guess your MMR based on playtime of survivors / killer. Not really good way, but best we have now.
CoH is super good against hit&run and 3-gen. It is just close to impossible for killer to snowball. From our testing best is to have 2 survivors with CoH, you really don't wanna more, there is kinda wasted perk at that point and just 1 survivor CoH is not active all the time.
So killer has to play top 3 killer / Plague, or just tunnel / camp

Would be cool if powers could change skin as well.
And true, people don't like to play them because they are clunky or they don't like their style. Another reason why they should get some nice changes.
I actually enjoyed them quite a lot, but that nerf to 5 second after downing a survivor just hurts a lot...
-
It would be way more interesting, if Victor was actually considered as a weapon instead of that shovel.
Also, she is just not popular killer, so there will not be many people buying that skin...
-
I have been saying it from PTB and nothing changed my mind so far.
CoH is broken for multiple reasons and best answer is just tunnel someone, which I don't think is good... Unlike other boon totems, you want just 1/2 survivors with it, that's how you get most value from it, stacking is not really that good.
Shadowstep is annoying, but it can get broken for SWF. 4x Shadowstep and RPD / Lery's offering + Map (everyone will see totems) is super painfull to deal with. Well, best answer is to camp someone, which I don't think is good...
That new Unbreakable will also be playable only for SWF, where you are going to have multiple of them. But RIP Oni / Twins if you play against that.
