Thank you <3

Yeah I had match were I was playing super good and having really fast chases while my teammate trapper was just struggling and didn't even place more than couple traps. I had 16 hooks in that match and we still lost he had 2 hook. I got 3 or 4 kills.

I feel like alot of ppl don't know how good gen kicking is in this gamemode. On one side... 8 survivors means you have more ppl to quickly stop the regression but since all killers have NWTH on crack, you tend to find everyone who would be swooping in for that.
There is still so many survivors who don't realise you have nwth on them as well…

This feels weird to post, as typically I preach about how killer sided the game is, but 2v8 is the exception. I'm not a bad killer player, practically every game I get a 3K and let the last person go. But 2v8 is a different story... After a 20 minute queue time and finally getting into the match, by the time I find my first survivor, at least 1 generator pops. Then by the time I finish the chase, another generator pops. I can basically never commit to a chase unless the survivor is very bad, as otherwise it's just gen pop after gen pop. Pretty much a chase will last until I hit the survivor and then I'm forced to leave. All of my teammates have had the same problems as me too, only getting 3-4 hooks per match (embarrassing, I know). So far as killer I've played about 8 matches and in only one did I manage to sacrifice 7 survivors. All the others I got 1 or none.
Playing survivor in this mode is a breeze. I've played about 20 matches as survivor and I've only died in TWO. Yes and in practically every match I escaped without even being downed. The killers I face seem to have the same problem as me. They chase for about 20 seconds, then just give up.
The problem with playing killer in this mode is that you have to basically only patrol generators, as commiting to any chase longer than 20 seconds just means that 3 gens will pop. Do you agree? How have your experiences as killer been?
How many hours you have? You could be in low mmr in normal mode but 2vs8 does not have mmr so you can face players of any skill level. What killers you and your teammate play? What playstyle do you spread pressure or stay together?
My experience has been very different. My worst game was 4-5 hooks in this mode but I played badly I was just off. Most games I have won getting 6-8 kills. Mostly I play with friends but I have done some soloQ too and even that's mostly been success and debends if my mate is decent.
Well I have won even with some baby killers but I say it's too hard to win 1vs8 in this mode if your teammate can't get anything going. One game I had 16 hooks but we still lost...

300% actually... it's an EXTRA 200% regression speed.
Yeah I was wondering that gens seem to regress quicker than 200%. That just free regression only requirement is to kick gens.

Tunneling implies intent and ignoring all but one survivor until he's out of the match.
"Hooks" are randomly placed and far away from both killers.
"Hooks" are moved if in proximity of a killer.
Because of this, it's very unlikely to find the survivor one has just downed without ever encountering or trying to hit another survivor.
Stumbling randomly on the survivor that was just downed and has just been "unhooked" isn't tunneling, it's only bad luck/opportunity.
I've myself found a survivor I had downed a bit before while she was being healed and of course I've downed her. But I had chased another survivor between her two downs. It would be a very bad idea to ignore all survivors but the one I've just downed.
And even if by sheer luck I found her randomly before finding anyone else, downing her wouldn't be tunneling as I had no intent to down her. It was just an opportunity.
Tunneling only works in 1vs4 because the hook position is known and proxy-camping is possible.
From survivor perspective that still tunneling and they should have defence agains't it. In normal game there is ds and otr. Even tunneling in 2vs8 is mostly bad luck it's incredibly unfun experience especially when 2 killers target you. In tunneling definition you can still chase others while tunneled is hooked and that's what makes it so effective stragedy.

👎
Do you want half an hour long queques?
-
Those streamers must not be that good then. I watched otz and hens destroy teams in 2vs8 like good players obviously should. I have won all my 2vs8 games as killer with decent teammate in soloQ.
With my friend we also won most games but we had couple off games were we played bad and he plays nurse on console and still practises so we could still improve a lot I still practise huntress too on console.
The reality is killers will always be more skilled than survivors and play more seriously so we have to balance around that especially when survivors don't play enough this mode. I think in future we need some new mechanics for survivor side.

survivor not that hard I seen 6 sometimes 7 out not hard at all.the thing I want is being able to grade up I mean I have to chose do I want the crazy fun or do I want to get pips and grade up.
Grades nowadays only give 2 million bp at best and don't affect matchmaking so you don't really have to mind them when with 400% bonus you do that playing maybe 15 matches 2vs8. So easily on one day. But I definetely support the idea making you gain pips in 2vs8. As I take all available free bp.

1-2 bots could be okay… except bots are extremally afraid of TR and 2 killers covers almost whole map and thus bots could be useless.
No. Instead surv role should be somehow more funThey would have to rework bots and make them more altruistic. I hate when bots just open exit and leave and don't go for saves in endgame.

appearantly not with how fast gens fly
Well then killers are not giving survivors enough pressure. I have been able to regress 90% gens to 0% easily. Camping 3 gen area in the end is very viable.

@NekoGamerX said:
I don't under stand the hate I mean I gotten out in this mode more the the normal mode and I'm playing solo.
My experience has been mostly good in 2vs8 on survivor but I play with some friends. There is not really tunneling or camping which are regular in normal mode. I have been escaping more than in normal too.
But today I tried some soloQ and had rough games. I was unluckily tunneled and camped by 2 killers in first and in second game killers destroyed the team and I played for hatch but they slugged for 8K to drag the game. I went to back on killer after having bad time.
Unfun things in the mode unfortunately feels worse than in normal I think survivors should have longer endurance in this at least like 20s after unhook. Many survivors enjoy using flaslight and doing saves which are not possible in this mode. I think the mode simply need more fun things for survivors to get them to play it.

I think its more the missing slowdown on gens that breaks killers in this mode. Like ive played 2 games so far as killer, 1 was a 8k swipe where we got pretty equally "hooks" spread between the two of us and the other was a like 3 or 2k or something
200% gen regression is pretty huge slow down.

@Seraphor said:
Should never have been 2v8 to begin with.
2v5 could have worked just as well, without all the changes to make killer so much easier, and the queues would have been more balanced.
Im thinking maybe 2vs6 would be best and they need to add something interesting for survivors. Maybe new ways to interact with killer.
-
I have had the worst soloQ killer teammates I try to carry them but it's hard we got two 4K and 2K. Probably highlight of the matches was when one survivor was running to exit my teammate chasing him in range to get hit and I was there waiting to get them downed but my teammate missed and the survivor escaped.
-
I remember someone mentioning small endurance effect for survivor so they don't get double tagged. If that really is the biggest problem. Im ok adding that as we need more survivors.
Even the mode is more survivor sided than normal. I find myself escaping most games and earning decent amount of bp. Killers can't tunnel, camp and slug which makes this mode much more healthier than normal.
Most killers I have faced spread pressure and I have looped killers in this mode lot longer than in normal up to 4 minutes. One reason definetely is because lot of new killer players. Loops are stronger in this mode in 1vs1.
-
It would incentive not to play 2vs8 which need more survivors desperately. Everyone wants to play killer with friend at the moment so queques take long.
-
Only bad thing is I have to wait almost 20 mins in killer queque but other than that im having fun. Most games I have won with my friend.
In future I only hope they add items and some add ons so bp I earn is useful and not for just gaining new prestiges.
-
@Dreamnomad said:
If they really want to help with killer queue times in 2v8 they should give guaranteed 25k bloodpoints plus 400% BP earned during the trial. 400% of 5k still isn't worth the time as a survivor.
Pretty much 20K bp is quaranteed you need to be really unlucky if you get under 10K on survivor.
-
I buy skins I like but only when im close to 100K. I buy for both killer and survivor. Last time I bought were-elk and jane romero ancient egypt skins.
-
Yeah probably most fun I have had to play this game and I have 4000+ hours.
-
Right now it's 450% bonus on survivor and still 15 minutes wait time on killer. Remember there is no hooks so that more than compensites that there is 2 less gens.
-
As survivor I respect killers going for hooks and often they're very skilled too. Big 👍 to nice killers who give hatch.
As killer I like those memeing survivors and when I farm those who help me get challenges or achiements. I would not get skilled huntress without you. I respect good loopers even they are annoying.
-
Im still waiting to get in match :(

Oppression is bad for the sole reason it is only effective if your opponents are bad. Also base regression is awful so even that aspect is not valuable. Dragons grip is just a gimmick perk only useful once per survivor if they are able to put two and two together and once against a swf.
It's plenty good agains't console players who have more delay on skill checks and buttons that can't be pressed as quickly as mouse on pc with 120fps. Not skill issue platform issue. Perks like oppression should not be buffed but nerfed. If not I think all skill checks should be made harder on pc.
-
@VomitMommy said:
Issue is this has nothing to do with tunneling.
For most killers it's near impossible to get 4k when all gens were finished and all survivors alive.
Even last gen is difficult. 3-gen feature makes this even more broken...
And if you think survivors wouldn't play around it, then you are naive.
2 gens left, soloQ on hook and gen 99? Yeah, that survivor is dead...
It doesn't make sense to give survivors better chance at escaping for letting someone die.
That's why it should have hard requirements only hooking same survivor tree times a row I could see this being implented.

No, the game is unplayable now. When entire generators can be instantly auto-repaired from 0% to 100%, the game balance doesn't exist anymore. I've witnessed streamers purposely not complete a 4th generator until a teammate dies (as in sometimes they purposely leave the 4th generator at 99% until a teammate dies), so they can bypass the 5th generator completely.
And it would be worse in 2v8, since there are more survivors in the game that could trigger the bug.
The bug might not happen in 2vs8 and fix was said to be coming today. It has been issue for me in couple games but most games have been fine. I calculate hours now to 2vs8 so I can't wait any longer.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
I hope 2v8 is delayed until the hotfix happens, because the generator bug is extreme enough that there’s no point in playing this game while it’s still happening.
No delays I have waited 2vs8 long enough. You just have to sweat more with the bug I win many games multiple gens left so it's not big issue for me. T

The survivor one has a workaround, don't take endurance perks, the killer one doesn't its "just don't play the game"
I have still many reason to play killer I have only lost one game (2K 10 hook) because the bug and without it I would be on long wins streak. I adapted to play around it.

@The_Krapper said:
Seriously how hard is it to put out a hot fix to this already? I'm seeing it on average more than I am regular matches at this point, not sure what really triggers it but it's extremely frustrating to play killer when all of a sudden at 3 gens left, just one pops and it automatically counts as 3 gens like ######### is this even about? I know it wasn't the survivors doing the gens either just last match there were 3 survivors left at 3 gens and I had two slugged they were trying to do flashlight plays and all of a sudden every gen pops? I ended with a 3k still because the other survivor just immediately left their team instead of helping but if one of them had been up instead of slugged that game would've been an unwinnable match I would've had to camp immediately over a a literal game ending bug instead of play normal, I really hope this is immediately resolved for this games sake or killers aren't going to play this hot mess you've got going on.
Best way to counter it totally is playing fairly and eliminate someone at 1-2 gens. But I still been able to win almost all the games even if the bug has happened it just made some games unneccessary harder noed might be now good perk to pick. I have been able to slug 3vs1 in endgame with it. If you get opportunity slug all in 4vs1 go for it.

That's just creating a problem though.
Showing SWF in lobby does nothing except harm.
I quess yes but lobby dodging does screw matchmaking though. But that don't really have to be fixed like in tcm as dbd lobbies get filled quickly though matches might be sometimes unbalanced.

For me I would say they are equal. Although you kinda have to play like a Biatch sometimes when ur tryna adept survivor.
For me killer is easier because I only have to rely on my own skill. But on survivor I have to hope my teammates are decent. With good teammates obviously survivor adept is quite easy.

I would say it was pretty unreliable in the past. Yes, after a grade reset it was pretty easy to do, but a week or two in and it became very challenging. I remember how I tried to adapt Artist when she was new and Pyramidhead whom I bought around the same time. I was in the iri ranks and had several matches were I got nearly everything perfectly, but that one heal in a corner lead me to not pipping up twice etc. It was hellish.
On the same vein, some killers had very bad kits and perks for gaining two pips, Plague was notorious for that, as her kit basically meant she was lacking in one department and you just couldn't use your power too much, or you would fail. Myers also would often lack in the chase department, because his preloaded instadown let him end chases in like 3s. Pit and her headtraps were another problematic adept. There were special guides and tutorials of how to do certain killer adepts. It was a hot mess and I am thankful that they changed it to only a 4K, that's at least something that will happen sooner or later.
I quess it's reference but +2 pips should happen even more often than 4K expect if you are in iri grade. I don't like the 4K requirement because I have to slug and drag the match long time and even I succeed in that downing both survivors I might not be able to find the other without any aura reading. So it can end the other survivor bleeding out which has happemed to me many times now. Technically I 4K but still no adept.
Most difficult slugging experience for me was the vecna 4K achiement where you had to mori someome with eye or hand. I slugged one and kept looking for other survivor and then I had to let the slugged wiggle out so he would not bleedout to continue looking. Well I eventually found the hiding survivor and slugged them. Then went to find the other again and well eventually got them both but after that I hope never again match like that.
Old system was not perfect but I liked it much more than the current one. I did some adepts on red grades but mostly on lower grades. I remember having difficulties on trickster achiement at red grade I admit it was too much down to luck. I think silver grade had the most fair requirement for the adept 3K and 9 hooks should do it.
-
@Linkdouken said:
It's the killer adepts I struggle with. Merciless is really hard when a big part of how many hooks you get etc is affected by how others play and often I've found the trophies/achievements bugged anyway.
For getting the survivor adepts best hope for hatch if playing solo and teammates aren't pulling their weight
Killer adepts you need just 4K and well before they were easier when they required +2 pip which is pretty easy to achieve on lower grades. But well killer adepts are still easier to get for me at least than adepting survivor in soloQ.

I don’t play killer, but imo there’s nothing wrong with Lobby dodging. If you don’t want to play a match you don’t have to and I’d rather have it done at the match making stage than to go through the rigmarole of loading in only to have a DC a few mins in.
I’d rather take it one step further and be able to see what killer you’re going against too.
I don't think dc:s will be issue there is already penalties for that. Information to know what you're facing as killer helps you prepare. Agains't swf the match will likely be tougher.
For seeing what killer you go agains't is just no. It removes all the surpricing element steath killers have and they are already weakest. Everyone would dodge strong killers nurses, blights and hillbillies etc. It would allow survivor specifically prepare agains't specific killers. Everyone would take calm spirit agains't doctor etc. Game is not balanced for that.

The issue with lobby dodging is the backfilling problem and its terrible effect on matchmaking. Their system gets only one real shot at a fair-ish trial, and then the tolerance widens as players wait. The longer that wait, the more uneven the matchmaking, which usually leads to gross steamrolls.
Most of the complaints about a rookie killer being destroyed by a skilled team, or newbie survs being wreaked by a veteran killer have their roots in that backfilling issue.
Exactly this and probably reason many soloQ matches feel unfair. I really think matchmaking should be made tighter.
-
@Pulsar said:
We could show it after the game.
Even TCM had to remove this feature because people will shop for the easiest games possible.
Maybe swf could been shown if lobby dodging gives penalty then as well like in tcm. But at least in endgame screen they could been shown.

Well good news for you! Roughly 19 killers are in that kill rate range! So over half fit right where you want them.
When was kill rates last time shown and some of those killers got buffed. We had wesker and skull merchant with 65% kill rate. I remember the average being at least 59% last time recently many maps have been nerfed so I believe kill rates are now above 60%. I think 57% should be the average kill rate.

It only matters when someone gets tunneled, aka most matches because you have to do it. I mean, you don't have to do it, but it's your funeral.
But I do feel like survivors are playing a sliver less efficient because they know they'll get carried by the 2nd gen popping. It doesn't make killer matches any less sweaty though.
Both this bug and the survivors not getting base BT bug need to be fixed immediately, because folks this is not acceptable.
I play on console m1 killers and most games I win comfortably without tunneling. I have massive disadvantage compared to pc killers playing hillbilly and chucky etc. So I believe good pc killer can win almost every game without tunneling. So statement tunneling is needed most games is incorrect.

if this is the devs testing a new mechanic to deincentivize hard tunneling people out early, then I’m all for it. This is especially true when you get the comp wannabe blights/nurses who stack 3/4 slow downs and stand 15 feet from the hook against solos.
I’d actually go a step further and also add in a catch up mechanic on the killer side if they are getting Gen rushed and don’t have many hooks.
The more things to deincentivize playstyles that are miserable for both sides, the better. You would still be able to do it, it just comes with a hefty penalty.
Catch up mechanics would be unfair to the side who is winning and has played well. Even if it's done by tunneling or gen rushing. There are other ways to nerf these than give losing side mechanic to help them win. Killer can have 8 hooks and then kill one and lose because of current bug.
Only scenario which could have new mechanic is 2vs1 as it's often hopeless and survivors just hide and wait other to die to get hatch well at least bleedout button is needed for that if killer slug for 4K.
-
But losing streak is usually some bad luck too I was tunneled 5 gens 2 times in my last 8 games both would been escapes if killer didn't had rancor and noed. But then game dropped my mmr very low because I died...
Now I gotten worser teammates so escaping is hard. Matchmaking is the biggest issue. In one game I got killed by devour hope in endgame and just killers has vision to take me outand let other escapes because I quess im annoying looper.

I don‘t like behaviors unfair way of balancing things. 60% kill rate is simply unfair. I would love that they aim for 55% kill rate or/and 9hooks. This would make the game far more enjoyable and fairer.
I would be fine with 56-58% kill rate. The current kill rate seems even higher than 60%.
-
That's sad well hopefully in future iterations there are bp offerings.

Unknown at best is high B tier killer he does not need any nerf and his power is pretty easy to dodge.

2 survivors that you killed left a tally screen meaning that the one of your living survivors in your match did a gen and + 2 additional gens were done because of those 2 dead survivors. This is I presume how this bug occurs according to description
Okay so you can avoid this bug keeping all survivors alive? So it's a bug that act as catch up mechanic for survivors?

I can reach 200 Win Streak on Bubba against these Lithe / Windows Of Opportunity players, but it's just boring and it feels like they can make you suffer without even thinking about making a play or using their knowledge (if they have). That's the problem. Perks like Deja Vu / Windows / Lithe are most boring perks Survivors can use. They just turn off their brains by that, but they can make suffer many - even good Killers, because these perks (Lithe e.g.) are too easy to use and too strong.
If you can reach 200 wins streak aren't exhaustion/survivor too weak? I get lithe is annoying but it hardly changes the outcome buys them little bit more time. This is from guy who hates lithe more than any other exhaustion perk given you can outplay them and lithe acts like kind of free health state.

Here's answer tag teaming. I don't think 8 gens will be any problem I would still win majority my games if there were 4 gens on normal mode and literally that been case lately because bug.

I think the fun as killer will be getting great tag-team moments with your partner. Two friends can finally ditch the survivor queue and chat while playing killer together, and two strangers can have moments of "aw, hell yeah!" when they manage to coordinate a great move without verbal communication.
