They don't. PR won't make survs let go of the gen and automatically apply DMS. but obviously, PR doesn't prevent DMS from working in any way. It's not like it disables the perk.
Not that it matters much since bad survivors will still let go out of fear, and good survivors would let go of the gen are you hooked.
Also DMS didn't get nerfed outside of that interaction.
Jeez that sucks. Im willing to bet it still works together great but i dunno if i can spare the perk slots for both.
Im thinking either bbq, floods, pr, sms
Or lethal, bbq, floods, dms. Pr seems like it makes more sense but ill try this one and see how it feels.
Thanks for the info

A single locker (which is near most gens) counters all of that. Good luck chasing dust particles in the sky though! ✌️
You would be surprised how easy it is to catch people in lockers thanks to lethal. I feel like a damn voyeur

Buddy DH was better than most killer powers, let it go.

And you don't seem to understand
A shame you seemed an honest man
And all the fears you hold so dear
Will turn to whisper in your ear
And you know what they say might hurt you
And you know that it means so much
And you don't even feel a thing
I am falling, I am fading
I have lost it all
And you don't seem the lying kind
A shame that I can read your mind
And all the things that I read there
Candle-lit smile that we both share
And you know I don't mean to hurt you
But you know that it means so much
And you don't even feel a thing
I am falling, I am fading, I am drowning
Help me to breathe
I am hurting, I have lost it all
I am losing
Help me to breathe

I think its getting 12 hooks.
No but seriously though, if you are playing a high mobility killer, lithe and SB are barely noticeable. I suggest you give Nurse, Blight or Spirit a go.
This update was made for high mobility killers.

Man after the IW nerf i so want to pick up spirit. But i know how bad i am at m1 killers that it would just frustrate me. How was your experience with her?
-
Nah didnt feel the need to tunnel or camp once so far. You are probably playing lower tier killers in which case, go ahead and do those but know that its kind of a crutch.

Survivors didn’t get a new good meta lol all killers I’ve come across have the same build, killers have a great new meta thanks to the buffs but now all survivor perks are mid and only OTR got a buff and it’s still mid so there isn’t rlly a meta for survs anymore and probably won’t be, killer is only option for a fun game now
Whats the new killer meta?

Think of it like tank controls. Back up a step and attack. Oh and no lunges.

So... Basically you can see the future too?
There is no future. There is no past. Do you see? Time is simultaneous, an intricately structured meta that survivors insist on viewing one update at a time, when the whole design is visible in every facet.

Since the patch dropped i have been running a good number of perks that make me difficult to find: Distortion, off the record, kindred (to get a heads up on the killer incase they come in my direction after hook), lightweight, iron will (even after the patch), lucky break, etc etc.
I propose that survivors that are "hard to find" can now, on average, waste more killer time than looping. What are your thoughts and opinions?
Small note: I do run Lithe in case I end up in chase.
Proposition: I run Lethal Pursuer, Floods of Rage, BBQ and I'm All Ears. I have seen people try to stealth, i see everything. I see the little dust particles in the sky. I have witnessed events so tiny and so fast they can hardly be said to have occurred at all. But you, Dwight, you're just a survivor. The world's stealthiest survivor poses no more threat to me than does its best gen jockey.

Dead Hard now requires more skill. Of The Record is the low skill, poor man's Dead Hard. You don't have to do anything to get value out of OTR, while dead hard requires you to not suck.
Not only does Dead Hard require you to not suck, it requires killer to kinda suck. The animation is obvious and the killer can even drag out the hit animation to skip the parry or intentionally miss to bait it out. Its the billy perk now, too much effort to get a use out of and not enough reward.

Personally, no. I don't think it is. With DS you had a 5 second stun. You could at least try to scoot off and the Killer had to look for you again.
With OTR, it's just BT. And we all know Killers had no problem tunneling through that. It doesn't distract them, or slow them down.
I thought the 1 minute of old iron will would be pretty impactful too but i can see how that doesnt come into play if killer is right on top of you. And i can swear it had an effect that disrupted scratch marks but i must have been thinking of a different perk i think, wiki says it doesnt have that.

I've played 4 games of Nurse. Three have had people DC that I didn't even interact with that game. The 4th game was a against a team that intentionally threw.
VOD = Video on Demand.
DH was an over represented crutch - every killer is having an easier time in it's absence. I don't recall trying to make a point about DH on this thread.
DH was the biggest counter to nurse. Play a few dozen more games on her and tell me if you lose any, then we can continue this discussion.
Edit: And i dunno about recording and stuff, not really for me. Wish we had a simple history log or something.

The biggest problem by far playing Solo Q was the sheer level of camping/tunneling Killers. Camping can decimate a Solo Q match simply due to the lack of info.
So Devs have now nerfed anti-tunneling perks like DS into ashes. A perk I personally relied om, not for cheeky escapes, or trolling, but truly to get away from being tunneled.
Now Killers are tunneling MORE. Gen speeds are at a crawl, and you get more bang for your buck when camping a survivor at 5 gens. Idk what the "Meta" is going to be (tho Killers seem to have their already, or at leats close to it). I'm quite certain SWF will do just fine tho!. As usual.
Correct me if im wrong but isnt OTR just a better DS, i assume im missing something but not sure what.

The living deuce are you talking about? Chess is not an asymmetrical RPG. The only difference in chess is between white and black. DBD is not so clear cut. In competitive RPGs the role matters and there are roles for people with low skill caps but high skill floors, high skill caps, and everything in between.
I'll gladly believe your Nurse claims, as I will gladly believe anyone else, as long as they provide the VOD.
And for the record, my games have been easier too, but not because of anything I've done. I just noticed that people have a lower threshold for throwing the game. the SWF's I get remain competitive.
Wth is a vod?
And are you really trying to say that not having to worry about dead hard has been amazing on nurse? Tell me, have you lost a single match so far since the patch. Be honest.

First of all, it's ridiculous to think Solo Q was "cruising along" because of ONE perk. A perk I, and many Solo Q survivors never even used.
Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together, who is also honest, will acknowledge that Solo Q survivors have been entirely shafted and left behind with this update. The Devs are balancing for Killers vs SWF.
I'll be the first survivor main to admit as always, that SWF was completely unfair to Killers.
Making Solo Q even more miserable, while only slightly inconveniencing SWF wasn't the epic balance BHVR advertises.
Didnt mention a single perk, i said meta got completely reshuffled. This is imo akin to everybody starting over new to the game with no idea how to play and game seeming completely killer sided. We dont know what works and what doesnt, yes it seems extremely killer sided right now. I'm just saying let the meta settle and lets see if it actually is first.

To be honest with you I was already having a rough time with the game in general. I was banking on this update drawing me back in and making the game enjoyable again. I agree it is a bit harsh to quit in so little time after the update drops but I just can't see myself enjoying the game right now. Some more changes need to be made.
Thats completely fair. I burn out of games every so often as well. Hope you find a new game or hobby you enjoy. I can recommend Chivalry II, very noob friendly and matches are generally just 5 minute of dumb fun. Reminds me of tf2 medieval mode.

He's got like 6000 hours on the arguably highest skill ceiling killer. Not just any 6000 hours. 6000 hours where his only goal is to be good enough to create whatever content his little Nurse loving heart wants. This needs to stop being a rebuttal.
You do understand that even the greatest chess grandmaster in the world that even lived can even come close to that kind of win ratio right?
Alright ill do you one better. I played around 30+ games on nurse since the patch and not all of them were easy but i won them all and only let a few go due to stuff like multiple dcs. I'm not even a great player. I'm not even a good player. I ran 0 addons for all those matches.
Does that sound ok to you?

Or and hear me out here, survivors havent figured out what works best yet and instead of staying for a while and seeing how the meta settles you decided to book it.
Which is understandable but imo you just expected to just cruise along doing as well as you have been doing in a completely new survivor meta and when that, obviously, didnt happen you gave up.
Am i being optimistic in thinking the survivors experience will get better as people figure out what works best and what to abuse? Probably. But i think thats whats going to happen in 1 week max.

@The_Krapper said:
"I think all survivor mains can agree this update is bad"
See that's my issue with this, people should be playing both sides equally and not just sticking to one role, I've played since this game come out and I have no issue with the update other than I feel the extra time and slowdowns added to gens should've been turned into a entirely different objective to keep things interesting, people want to get carried by perks and they can't do that now, you have to know how to interconnect tiles and run them correctly and take advantage while someone is running the killer and get gens done instead of healing a thousand times in a row or doing every totem in the map while the rest of the team is working, I would argue that survivor skill is better measured now because you aren't being carried by crutches.
Why should people play both sides? You play a game to have fun. If its not really fun to play one part of the game .... just dont?

Let me list the reasons why Off the Record is not as good as Dead Hard.
- You must have been hooked and then unhooked before it will activate. Meaning you can only use it a maximum of twice during a match, and when you come off the hook, you already have the endurance effect for a few seconds anyways. Dead hard can be used many times during a match and before you are ever hooked.
- The perk is turned off when the exit gates are powered. Dead hard does not have this limitation.
- 1 minute of automatic hit detection is not as good as it sounds. The effect is cancelled prematurely if you perform a Conspicuous Action. If you aren't doing anything for 1 minute, that is great for the killer.
What does OTR have that is better than Dead Hard? Well, I don't think it matters at all. Because it can only trigger twice during the entire match and it is turned off if you perform a Conspicuous Action.
Its better than dead hard because the new dead hard is #########. Half second of parry isnt a good exhaust perk.

Your MMR is still propped up thanks to your reliance on Dead Hard. Dead Hard was, and still is, an extra health state that regenerates over time automatically. Dead hard was, and still is, the best perk in the game, however it now requires much more skill to use.
After you lose a few more games, your MMR should be adjusted appropriately to your skill level. You will start escaping more often when you are matched with killers who better match your skill level.
Dead hard is not at all the best perk in game atm lol. Thats probably OTR. Complete silence (old IW) plus 1 minute of automatic hit protection. Dayumn

I am happy you feel that way, but there are still enough people that will resort to camping and tunneling, at the latest when they notice that the match isn't going to well for them. It doesn't matter in that case if they had a fair chance to win or not, and simply didn't play that well. If they feel like they are losing, they are going to resort to these cheap tactics.
Buffing killers is a good way to incentivise them to play fairer. That's true. But camping and tunneling also absolutely need to be nerfed as well.
I went against a basement camping insidious bubba and a camping Trickster yesterday already. Those people will still keep on with these strategies as long as they work.
I ahhh, im honestly having way too much fun with the game atm to do any of that but i feel like if the killer is struggling like 2 gen left with a single hook or something, they are absolutely welcome to tunnel and camp. Unless of course they are just vibing and dont care about winning or losing or kills all that much.
Though yeah camping and tunneling are crutches and need to be nerfed or hit with a nuke. I feel like if you stay within 24 metres of the hook for more than 20 seconds total the hook timer gets an extra 30-40 seconds and if you hook the same survivors 3 times in a row they go into struggle because of their grudge/spite instead of being sacrificed are fine nuclear options that i would love to have in game.

Skill based my ass, all day after the patch yesterday and today all killer did was run every slowdown imaginable and slug, tunnel, camp people out of the game.
Sorry to hear. I only use PR as slowdown and dont tunnel or camp personally. I think limiting the number of slow down perks you can equip at once to 2 might be a good solution but i doubt they have the willingness to touch their spaghetti code to give us that.
Honestly speaking im pretty sure aura reading is way better than slowdown atm and gives pretty fast games as well.
-
Depends. I imagine they are rather good on m1 killers. I'm only running PR as slowdown atm though and every game has been more than manageable. To the point im considering replacing it with a 4th aura reading perk.
Also Lethal Pursuer is more addicting than crack now.

it took skill to get value out of those 2nd chance perks, it feels like a slap to the face that they took our high skill perks away from us and dumbed everything down. We have seen it with WOW, game becomes so easy a 6 year old can play it. Seems as if DBD is going down the same watered down dumb road.
It was a crutch. Calling it high skill is like calling noed high skill. DH was literally a better power than 90% of killer powers. It had no bussiness being in survivors hand... Same deal with iron will. Completely removing sound? Insane ...
Though i agree that some adjustments are needed. Gotta nerf nurse and blight, gotta make it so IW isnt actually deactivated when exhausted lol. Gotta look at kill rates in a few days after meta settles and maybe go back on things like hit recovery buff, a very light maybe on that one. Because i feel like survivors are just slapping random perks together into matches meanwhile killers have streamlined perks atm. I'm running a lethal pursuer build and it feels amazing. Dunno what i would run on survivor at all.
Probably Botany/Coh/OFT/Spine Chill or SB

I think people overreacting to new stuff, and it needs to setle for a week. Just playing the game and adjusting to new things thats it.
Survivors started these madness of a threads after playing what... 1-2 matches?
I started double blinking on survivors to injure them and after exhaustion 1 blink on them for a down. It feels smooth and not that hard to do in an open map. I dont think i ever did it before the patch. I definitely feel like they make less distance than they used to do. Just anectodal though

You can't have Nurse be easy, strongest, and least pick with the lowest kill rate. Something in there has to be incorrect.
She is the hardest to pick up and there is a constant supply of people that pick her up, play 5-6 games with her and then never play her again that tanks her stats. Wow what a mystery that was. You guys willfully confuse skill floor with ceiling. Nurse isnt even in top 10 hardest killers in game.

Fair enough.
Also there are some Nurse mains that did disagree.
I forgot where but I saw one saying that range isn't op.
Nurse mains in this forum are clowns. They honestly think nurse is the hardest killer (not even close, she is just the hardest to pick up) and think that makes her power ok. Range add ons should have been hit with nerf nuke shortly after they made the change and people realized how busted it was and she should probably not be able to benefit from exposed perks after a blink, or after a 2nd blink if we are being generous.
I am a nurse main btw, no hate against her. Its just that i play her without any add ons and she is way too easy as it to dominate with. Doesnt need all the other bs. Hell, i think she doesnt even need any perks.

Sry but if killers need 20 minutes games and 2 minutes chases every time to get a 4k then this is not skill. Many killers did fine before. Either give us strong anti camp and tunnel mechanics so the killer is FORCED to go for 12 hooks or revert some of the changes, especially the training wheels like bloodlust or the forever m1 perks
Are we honestly complaining about legion, a bottom tier killer? I'm not getting any 20 minute games, most end at 4 gens. Thana buff was 2%, get over it. Post patch legion with 4 slowdowns is worse than pre patch legion with 4. Legion is easy af to beat and the fad will pass when survivors git gud and learn how to beat it.

Man this constant "meme" never gets old does it
But hey. Perhaps it was the same amount of people who piggybacked on Ruin and relied onCamping/Tunneling since the MMR system doesn't know how much "Skill" you actually took to get into your MMR rating.
Mayhaps?
Perchance?
Oh for sure tunneling and camping are absolute crutches. So is ruin though i never personally liked it since i started after the undying nerf. Noed is also another absolute crutch on killers. Shame tunneling and camping didnt get any solutions yet. Imo something like base kit Kindred and increasing the hook timer if you stay too long around the hook would be a nice start <3
But hey as long as we understand each other and you understand that @KerJuice and people complaining about getting stomped in the new meta were probably boosted af, we are all good : )

With the bar that fills up (Laceration Meter) if you use it at the last knife you will take an endurance hit and deplete the bar fully. A lot of times the trickster put down their knives thinking I would be downed or I make it around a corner lasting at least a bit longer in chase
Huh thats neat.
-
Survivors are faster when vaulting a pallet or window and can make distance by the virtue of the killer not making a straight beeline towards them specially when the killer loses line of sight. Not to mention pallets afford a modicum of safety against low tier killers.
And your argument boils down to its hard for new players so nerf them all. No ######### its hard for new players, they are new...
-
Is it good against Trickster? Isnt he just gonna spam you down?
-
I'm just spitballing here. Stridor, Call of Brine, Pop, BBQ or replace bbq with your info perk of choice.
I would also recommend Lethal Pursuer, BBQ, Floods of Rage and Pain Resonance on her and all strong killers. Its just chase after chase <3
