I always play Survivor, just more like a side-dish, i prefer my Wraith over anything and prefer Killer gameplay in general.

Still, i never really dislike playing Survivor, and i prefer it over some Killer Powers.

Recently i put up questions here, like if Repressed Alliance is any good, and Perk build suggestions for being purely altruistic.

So, taking a lot of advice in mind, i tried some stuff and also did my own thing inbetween.

And after a week of doing so now, i can very confidently say for myself...

Survivor gameplay is incredibly boring, or at least in longer play sessions

I don't think i'll ever be doing another week of just Survivor again.

Idk how Survivor-only players hold out.

I out-loop a Killer, making them give up at some point? Nah, don't feel any satisfaction during the chase nor when i lose them.

I manage to stealth all the way through? Kinda cool to pull off, but not engaging.

I repair all trial? I don't mind...for a few matches, but not for a week long.

I'm overly altruistic? I don't feel special at all, i'm just like everyone else. (Also, Altruism is just a different form of repairing: Healing progress bars instead of repairing progress bars.)

I escape? CAN be engaging, i felt excitement when this Huntress WITH HATCHETS was chasing me out of the Exit Gates, dodging 2 of 'em. Most of the time though, if i make it to the Exit Gate, i escape without the Killer in sight.

I die? shrugs 'Kay, never was one to care if i die as Survivor, whether it's a camper or the nicest Killer around.

Items? Barely change how you play, only sabotage-Toolboxes & Keys really do that, but sabotage just ain't my thing, and Keys just make the game shorter.

Add-ons? Don't really wanna get into this, it'd be a long list, but here's the short version: Don't really do anything engaging.

Offerings? Well okay, they weren't really designed to make you be more engaged during the trial, so they get a pass.

Perks? Same as Add-ons honestly, it'd be a long list, but there's barely anything here that's really neat.

I actually liked using Any Means Necessary, For The People, Head On, Red Herring & Repressed Alliance, with Deliverance as a honorable mention.

I know someone would mention Diversion: No! It's a lot of work, and all you can do is make a distant, loud noise.

I especially liked Red Herring, that one's way more fun than i thought it would be.

But other than these, there's nothing really new, y'know?

Aura Perks, healing Perks, sprint Perks, Generator Perks, it's like all Perks will be categorized, and every blue moon there's a cool new ability in a Perk.

And yes, this wasn't the long version of me talking about Perks.

I'm not saying this is problem #1, i would love to see performance be amazing on all platforms at all times. (As long as you hit the system requirements on PC.)

    It's also not problem #2, #3, #4...

But once the problems with higher priorities are gone, what i would love next...

    👏More👏things👏to👏do👏as👏survivor!!!👏

    • More primary objectives, preferably ones that don't make you sit still
    • More secondary objectives that don't reward you with just more BP (Dull Totems (Hex Totems are a good-enough interaction for Survivors currently) or with an Item (Chests).
    • WAY more Perks in the future that alter gameplay, like idk, have one that teleports you to a different Hook (that's further than 32 meters away from this Hook) once you get hooked, and the Killer can't see the Aura of the new hook you're placed on.
    • More Items, like one that, if you hold the button to use the Item, makes Scratchmarks not spawn while you run, but using it takes up charges of course. (A.k.a. a gameplay-changing Item.)

As things are now, i don't think i'll do a Survivor-only week again.

I still do like me some Survivor, but with a lot of moderation!

    Whew, that's a story!

Congrats for making it this far.

Although, if you skipped to here for a TL;DR, you'll be disappointed.

    Your opinion on Survivor gameplay?

I'm MORE than certain someone will feel the exact opposite of me.

To talk about secondary objectives i think your objective should change base on what map your playing on.

    Ex:

If your in auto heavens repair the car.

If your in the mid-which do the objectives that you will do if you were playing silent hill

  • My favorite killer to go up agains is pig because of reverse bear-traps.

  • When i was in rank 11 i was getting 3k-4k then once i hit 10 im gettin no kill-2 kills.

  • I remember this happened a few weeks ago i was Cherly agaisnt freddy in badham preschool. He gave me hatch.

He never said why but i think i know.

In the match i completed 3/3 gens that were completed,i looped him good(not in a toxic a way),& when there was 2 survivors i went for the flashlight save instead of letting them die in hook.Either he repescted the hard carry i did for my team or felt bad that i had some potatoes or ok players.

Frostbite: The idea of a permanent 5% movement speed decrease until you snap out of it sounds a bit problematic. I don't mind movement slowdown on survivors, mind you, but still. The idea of having a harder time seeing stuff and grunts of pain when healthy are fine.

Primary Power (snow and ice ball): Seems a bit much to have a clown bottle and a hatchet in one power but I'm willing to give it some slack since the snowball has to hit the survivor.

Secondary Power (snowstorm): So a map wide gen slowdown of 20 and tier up. Not sure what turning the floor to ice means aside from speeding up frostbite for Tier 1 survivors. Ehhh? Nothing horribly bad with it but it feels weird.

Slow Down: Knee jerk reaction is that it feels like a somewhat dangerous perk to release but it could be worse since it is only five times a match.

Overworked: Seems somewhat weak, imo. You could probably get the same benefit and info with tinkerer.

Blinded Pack: Frankly the most interesting perk. An unlimited duration of undetectable as long as you have the obsession on the hook is cool. Not sure how useful it would be but in a "juggle the obsession" build with Furtive Chase or Nemesis, it could lead to some fun tomfuckery.

Ice Floor,is what it sounds like the floor becomes ice,the benefits of the ice floor is that you gain a movement speed increase & that the survivors frostbite increase overtime & i will change the 5% movement speed decrease

  • A small thing for flip-flop you should add is that when your downed others survivor can see how close you are to begin recovered.

Props to you for your Ace placement, I feel like others severely underestimate his skills in survival.

Overall, this is a great tier list. I feel like Feng should be in "Useless and will die," but that could just be my bias against her. I was also thinking against Felix being that high, not saying he'd be bad at survival, but top 6? And if it's ordered and not general, top 4?

Ace was from the bottom & got to the top,i see him as a negotiator or the guy who scam others for their resources.

Felix is high because he is an architecture, hes very useful because hes able to make very good designs for bases & or traps.also hes a businessman as well so can do what ace does.

For Feng either she gets basic survival skills from gaming or learn useless skills that could do worse for her.

Honestly, I think Cheryl can be in EZ survival, because of how much she was able to survive in the silent hill games.

Nea is low because she has street smart but little or none wilderness skill.

No because people are just going to cleanse immediately without waiting to break first. You'd only get anywhere by doing a full break in one chase, in which case you may as well just play Legion.

You won't be getting corrupt because Survivors will be cleansing every chance they get. Legions 14 second stall wasn't enough, so a 5 second stall certainly won't be.

    Reread i just added something.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

That would completely remove the entire dynamic Plague has.

The whole idea behind Vile purges infection is that infecting someone puts them in a no win scenario where they either cleanse and give you corrupt or don't cleanse and are 1 hit down.

This just completely removes that, making vile purge much weaker due to Survivors always instant cleansing because they have literally no reason not to do so.

well then by your logic survivors will be constantly cleansing which means they are not doing gens.Secondly they stay injured once they cleanse which could mean more time wasted healing just to be infected again.

I do like the idea you went for because demo's teachables are pretty bad, and I do like the Idea with all of them. I can see tinkerer (sorry if I spelled it wrong) going decent with it because you can sneak up on them and not worry about any exhaustion perk like dead hard, sprint burst, etc. And Cruel Limits is going to be unreliable but when its going to work , oh boy its going to be satisfying.

BUT my only problem is Surge does Pop apply to all the gens or just one. And (I'm pretty sure) does Pop have to be activated.I'm sure but with Overcharge does it work even when the survivor is working on the gens nearby when Surge procs.

    Read Closely.

Putting a Survivor into the Dying State causes the generator they last worked to instantly explode and regress.

Nein, in fact dare I say Mindbreaker and Cruel Limits would still be considered weak perks. In my opinion it is not the numbers that need buffing, it is the design of the perk as a whole. Mindbreaker and Cruel Limits are passive perks and their power is outside of your control. This is why most players prefer the more active perk Pop Goes the Weasel rather then the passive perk Hex:Ruin. You could make the same comparison in regards to a higher use of Bamboozle over Cruel Limits.

This is not to say passive perks are weak, but the effect generally have to be weaker than a more active perk. An active perk demands a requirement to be met for the power to be earned, whilst a passive perk would work on its own without your assistance in theory.

I have made posts regarding Cruel Limits and Mindbreaker myself, if it is okay with you I could share them here to give you a more detailed explanation as to how I feel these perks should be changed.

Lots of perks in Dead By Daylight do not see much use, this is not to say all of them are weak or bad, but it is clear some perks are more reliable and favorable than others. In bitter honesty, the top tier perks need to be nerfed if our goal is to increase the usage of the other perks, but that would have to come with desirable buffs or reworks towards the disregarded perks as well. No one wants their power taken away without compensation after all, but this is only an option if the drive is to balance the perks as best as we can.

One question about Surge, I feel that is the Demogorgon's best perk and is rather decent at that. May I ask why you feel the need to change it? Not that it is unwelcomed, just curious to know 🙂

Heres a Comparison:This is the old one.

    Mindbreaker:

While repairing Generators with less than 50 % Repair progression, Survivors are afflicted by the Exhausted Status Effect.Any existing Exhaustion Status Effect timers are paused while the Survivor is repairing a Generator. After ending the Repair action, the Survivor is afflicted by the Exhausted Status Effect for 1/2/3 second(s).

    Cruel Limits:

Each time a Generator is repaired, all Windows and vault locations within a radius of 24 metres from the completed Generator are blocked for all Survivors for the next 20/25/30 seconds.

  • @xerav said:

Dunno your gameplan should be to defend generators...

Using a perk which only activates after you failed defending a Gen + forces you to go towards a area with no gens to defend anymore will never be good...

If your talking about cruel limits you must not have read it.

A'lot of people say that its a very inconstant perk in which may not even hit a gen & a bigger downside it doesn't work with overcharge & pop. Also they say its map dependent.

Hello everyone I know what I'm about to say might be controversial but hear me out.

I like Hex: Devour Hope but I have never been able to use it as it is destroyed within 30 seconds of a match starting.

To combat this there should be a feature added or maybe as a perk to be able to make a dull totem your Hex totem. I think this should be a feature or perk because some maps have a mix of good and absolutely horrendous totem locations. With this perk/feature you would be able to make a dull totem in a good spot a hex totem so the starting hex totem is no longer in a bad spot.

Tell me what you all think about this. Should it be a feature? Or a perk?

A feature whitin the first 30 seconds of the match all hexes are concealed dulls.

  • @CheeseAnton said:

I'll give thoughts on the survivors perks, as even though I do still have hundreds of hours on killer and play killer regularly, I would still say I'm not the best to rate them and I'm 100% a survivor main (I really only play Killer to learn how to survive better).

Beacon of Hope: Maybe heard it before, but it is a little too much. What I would personally do is remove one of the effects, but buff the other one. Either make it so the light takes 2 seconds to unblock the entity, or make it so you need 25% to prime the flashlight. Also give it a tiny effect like Self-Care that makes Flashlights last 5%/10%/15% longer (because of the tier system, you need obligatory tier stuff). 6/10

Spiritual Connection: This might actually be in my basekit, it's a more useful Alert. Sure alert is map wide, but I feel Spiritual Connections is where you need it to be. 10/10

Frantic Dash: I'm not saying it's bad, I just don't think it'll be used. Like Lucky Break, I feel it's under rated, but I'm not saying it should be used. Maybe this would be good in certain builds (like Lucky Break). Maybe paired with Iron Will, Urban Immersion, and an indoor map. I'vebeenmakingtheseuponthespot/therankingsliterallymeannothing

Escape Artist: I feel like all it needs is a longer cooldown. Don't go Any Means Necessary and make it useless, but maybe 90 seconds at the lowest. yesthisis/indeedarank

Camouflage: I would rather it be 5 tokens with 'em all scattered across the map and take 3 seconds, because invisibility is bonkers. Blen/dette

Cunning Escape: I wish this was added to Babysitter to make it a better perk. But I still love the idea of delaying the hook notification, and I would use this constantly. Nacho/Cheese

Makeshift Shotgun: Seems okay, can it stack by any chance? As in there could potentially be 4 shotguns in game? I would say if that's the case oh gosh no, take it back. But if not, I would be okay with this. Cold/Water

Overall, neat ideas. Here, have an epic sweater for your epic contributions.

Freddy was beaten by bunch of kids in every movie. Why would batman struggle with him?

Go watch the kill count & see why he lost Pls?

  • @Dustin said:

The only killers on that list who is even remotely a threat to Batman is Freddy, Oni, Pyramid Head and Demogorgon. However we can easily just solve this now.

    • Freddy is basically Doctor Destiny on steroids but even so Batman could likely figure out how to deal with him - Likely the main actual threat here
    • Oni is basically just bane but he needs blood.
    • Pyramid Head cannot exist without James Sunderland
    • Demogorgon pretty much is the biggest real time threat for Batman because if it's not those two engaged in a battle Batman would likely have to ensure no citizens of Gotham were attacked by this thing.

You can argue that the rest of the killers exist but the thing is most of them are just normal people with a weapon. I'd accept arguments of Nurse, Spirit, Plague and Pig but I'd still argue that all 4 basically have normal strength or equal strength to Batman. Also Pig would have to capture Batman to even be a threat since it's just Amanda Young from the saw series.

I'd say Freddy is the biggest threat because everyone needs to sleep and in Bruce's dreams he'd likely keep having nightmares about stuff in Gotham or his parents and wouldn't have his equipment. Aside from that in a one on one engagement I'd say likely Oni and even Spirit are likely the two biggest threats past that. For Oni it would be his unnatural strength and for Spirit it would be her speed.

The real question here is in the rules of engagement is it Batman or Bruce? Does he have his equipment on him or not?

    @Sonzaishinai said:

Batman would beat all the killers with prep time, that's his entire stick

Myers is way to slow to take down the bat, Batman would just kite him untill he can find a way to trap him like pouring cement on him or something

Freddy it depents, if batman can wake up even once he'll just pull a freddy vs jason and create anti-dream gas which he would spray over gotham. No dreams, Freddy gets forgotten

Not sure why Oni is so high either, yes he's strong but Bane and killer Croc prove that's not enough

Most importantly most killers in dead by daylight struggle against pallets and windows used by a nerd in a elf costume, what on earth will they do against a superhero

Note:Batman is fighting each killer in their Turf

Myers has survived through a,lot, & you should note that Myers whole stick is that hes sneaky so being slow shouldnt be a big factor especially in haddonfield. So that cement isn't an option.

For Freddy batman inst a Lucid Dreamer so he cant fight back in the dream realm & if batman wants to put him in the real world hes gonna need someone else to wake him up.

Pyramid Head:Explain how the entity took him in if he cant exist without james.

You cant knockout an Oni you need kill one & what batman does is not Kill, but still hes an Oni.

Batman is fighting demo in the lab.

i mean, clown doesn't deserve to get clapped, since batman fights a clown every second issue and that clown is apparently always "one step ahead.." unless batman has a gas mask, clown is putting his booty down and taking a bat finger. anesthesing someone through a bottle throw that your immune to basically just means the clown needs to throw bottles at his feet and he eventually wins.

if pig has a bear trap on batmans head, she can simply activate it, as im pretty sure they were remote activated in the films at one point? thats instant death. besides even if it wasn't the pig doesn't play fair, and would be likely to just set it off for poops n giggles.

spirits literally an undead unbeatable sword weilding gal, who can teleport with minimal tracking. she'd just destroy bats bat booty.

hillbilly is stronger, and faster then bats and weilds a chainsaw, but bats is more mobile. honestly 50/50 with no prep, but only because bats can dodge.

leatherface... feel he'd also be the same as hillbilly even if he isn't quite as fast, he is still very very strong. be a bit of a bane situation

hag would destroy him with hexes n curses no question. being able to teleport faster then he can blink, and curse him to be destroyed much like her archive story.. yeah he's dead no question.

doctor has the ability to shock from a distance with "entiy magic", if bats suit isin't like, resistent to electricity, he's dead before he gets in 5 feet of doctor.

nurse is a psychotic teleporting demon spirit lady. she'd carve him up from behind before he can even react.

pretty much any killer with a supernatural or physical ability would win. clown would only win because he's pretty much a joker alternative for batman, but with added gas action. everyone else like ghostface or legion, there people he fights on the daily.

Clown is unfit & his gas isn't very lethal lore wise,& you forgetting about baterangs & grappling hook.

Pig in the movies those things have a timer.Heres how i see it.If pigs is just fighting batman without using stealth bat will beat her in less than a minute & then take out the trap.Or if pig just stalks him & whenever he tries to do a box she just interupts him causing the timer to go down.

Spirit:She can be injured or stunned, remember spirit makes a noise while phasing so hes alerted when shea about to attack & since there in the yamaoka estate he could see if the grass moves to know where shes coming from & prepare.

Hillbilly/Leatherface: Though billy is fast doesn't change the fact that a normal survivor could juke him & that in close quarters bat would definitive apprehend his chainsaw because hillbilly/leatherface isn't a master with a chainsaw.

For hag i might change her.

Doctor:His lighting doesn't injure survivors so all he could do is make him go insane. As well batman can out range him.

Nurse:Has to catch her breath after every blink so he could attack right there.

  • @Xbob42 said:

Why would Freddy be able to beat him? Batman's already familiar with a similar style of attack by Scarecrow. Not exactly the same, but still.
