Sadly, tis is true :( I was thinking of the bombs that take 2 seconds to detonate like Link To The Past, where you see it glowing rapidly before exploding. Kind of like an, OH ######### moment lol.
Oh, so bombs that every Survivor could avoid provided they can't be held until the last possible moment?
Even worse!

I'm gonna call it now. It'll be called, "The Mad Bomber". XD he'll have 2 types. Throwable bombs and timed bombs like C4 that you can detonate XD Wow.. that actually sounds like a cool killer O.o
Except knowing BHVR, both bombs will inflict a Deep Wounds-type of effect that doesn't actually injure Survivors unless they let it run out. And even then, it'll just do 1 health state and give them a speed boost upon doing so.
-
@AVoiceOfReason said:
Same power as the last few killers. Range attacks that go through windows and pallets but with different steps. Next killer will just throw bombs over pallets lol.
Oh, you mean the Clown?
Yeah, I wonder when he's getting released...!
-
An interwsting concept, but we'd have to see it in action to tell for sure.
-
Alright, first off, the Devs themselves have stated and reinforced that tunneling and camping are both viable strategies.
Are they nice? No.
Are they effective? Depends on the situation.
Are they fair? About as fair as bully/depip squads, but much easier to coordinate.
Look on the other side:
BMing? Perfectly legal, but a dick move.
Genrushing? Effective, but a bit rude from a Killer PoV.
Depip squads? Fair game, but also a dick move.

yeah a few second or so grapple and then they get shoved would fit the RE theme and also avoid using them as a bump and afree sprint burst when uninfected since I know people are gonna catch onto that and I did pretty quickly too lol.
Yeah... Zombies pre-infection aren't a major threat, since being infected is a speed boost and nothing more.
If Zombies grappled Survivors who get hit, then they would be pretty darn decent. Even if they died after releasing the Survivor in question.

Disagree. Nothing will ever be as bad as binding of kin. I remember there was a discussion made after that chapter came out listing every new bug that was discovered, and it got to around 160 bugs total. Maybe more. At least the killer and survivors are actually fun with a good set of perks. And Binding of Kin had bugs that literally took away your power completely. I haven't seen that happen with Nemesis, at least he has a working power.
Let's not forget that, not only did a bug remove your power, but if you lunged as Victor, it took away your GAMEPLAY, too.
"Oh, okay. I didn't want to play the video games anyway."

Apparently so...
It probably isn't, from a Human perspective, but hey.
Technically~!
-
I would personally say add more Zombies, but instead of damaging Survivors, they grab and hold Survivors for a few seconds, ala Victor holding lockers shut, while also infecting them if they aren't already.
Make them more of a map-wide threat that doesn't negate Nemesis having to make his way over, but can drastically slow Survivors down if they slip up.
Either that, or make them more of an active threat when spotting a Survivor, namely theough a speed buff. Maybe some AI parhfinding tweaks, too.

I highly doubt they're actually dodging lobbies if they see a single key. That's some real down-badness if so and kinda just shows how unskilled of a killer they are if they seriously can't adapt to a single item in their match
Not to rain on your parade, but I dodge if I see a Key, or someone last-second Key-swaps.
I cannot STAND Keys snd the potential of them knocking out 3 gens within 2 minutes, before I can even get a hook, and then having 2+ escapes when I can't even stop it.
I know it isn't guaranteed, but when you have a night like I did last night, where all four matches I played had a Key show up somewhere in there, it becomes quite aggravating.

The new Franklin’s will be very good against med-kits flashlights and toolboxes but will be worse against keys.
How, though?
Old Franklin's dropped a bucket of charges each time it was slapped.
This drains a pretty small amount of them over time.

So here's the thing:
There is a distinctive difference between trashtalking and being a doiche.
Earlier today, I had a moment where a Nancy was obviously going to Dead Hard for Distance, and I called it:
"And Dead Head for Distance..."
*Nancy Lunges forward.*
"Called it. Piece of #########."
Keep in mind, I didn't really hate the Nancy that much, I just found it obnoxious that she did what she did, and rather than save her Dead Hard to escape being hit, she used it to get to a pallet, only to go down a few seconds later.

Bunny Feng and Toxic Nea(Any Nea with a face mask).
They are both insanely toxic in my experience, to the point where I dediced long ago that if I get the opportunity to, any Bunny Feng or Toxic Nea I encounter will die. No exceptions.

Make it so that if every survivor pets the Demogorgon, he gets an animation like a mori...but a petting mori, where all survivors pet the Demo at the same time. If that happens everyone gets 50k bloodpoints and the game ends with everyone double pipping.
You know what, I'll accept this.
Is it silly and dumb? Yes.
Is it balanced? Pfff!
... Totally balanced.

At this point, the idea of using Hex totems is becoming nearly moot because of terrible spawns and Survivor perks.
Unless they make Boon Totems work solely on Hex Totems, I don't think the viability of Hexes is going to last all that much longer.

So... Huntress stands on a hill, hatchet raised, 24m away and bam. Deathslinger stands just far enough, and aims, waiting for the unhook.
Spirit goes just far away enough, waits, and zips back in an instant. Same with Wraith, but oh yeah. I'm sure the freshly unhooked, injured survivor just has to GIT GUD™ , amirite?
Deathslinger couldn't make a 24m shot.
Huntress couldn't capitalize on an instadown unless the savior doesn't have BT.
Other than that, it's cheap, yeah

This is false. Survivors are only more powerful than the killer in coordinated SWF which is more rare than your average solo queue survivors. If you actually look at the data, Killers are killing way more survivors on average than survivors are surviving. Killers dominate the lowest common denominator.
In casual scenarios, against uncoordinated solos, yes.
But even a group of competent solos can give the best Killers a run for their money.
Killers are cats being led on a string by a group of four mice in the end.

" but I'm not responsible for your fun only mine" Except in asymmetrical PvP this argument is not true. As a killer you control the pace of the game. Which means you can choose to make it not fun for the other players. Which can only mean you derive your enjoyment by denying others enjoyment. What does that say about you as a person?
Except, unfortunately, this is blatantly untrue.
Killers control bupkis in this game.
Survivors are the power role, weirdly enough, and a competent team will thrash just about any Killer, barring the best Nurses and Spirits in the entire world.
And even then, the balance is heavily skewed.
-
You see, I've had one hide-and-seek game, and it was a blast to me.
Having to rack my brain to find the Survivors, then chase and down them in a stress-free scenario where they didn't bother doing gens in favor of being stealthy is a great change of pace from sweating my ass off every game against SWF depip and escape squads.
And despite what everyone says, I swear, these people are more common than the stats say. The last 2 days I've played I've been absolutely steamrolled by stupid good players in a very similar rank range, all on PC.
It's hard to say that they AREN'T a SWF.

Most of the time I get respected when I play Blight. He is hard, just like Nurse. Some people respect that and don't get salty at everything.
And I'd consider myself a decent Blight, I rarely lose a match, and when I do it's either Survivors playing out of their mind or me just messing up my rushes so bad that it costs me the match.
I also rarely M1 with him, I rush pretty much in every chase, at every loop and with every chance I get. That's how you get better at Blight. You risk using your Power and it works most of the time.
But I also never complain when I play against one, because I understand that Blight requires a huge amount of practice.
Finally, I see someone make a post that hits the nail on the head.
Unless you're abusing J/Z-Flick, Blight can do some pretty whacky stuff in the right hands.
I run STBFL, not because I use M1 that often, but if Survivors play smart, the counterplay to Blight feeds into my strength in the endgame.

So I'm not the only one!

Aim dressing has been an issue for a long time and is under no control by the survivors, they zig zag to try and fake going left or right, if forcing killers to miss hits was as easy as zig zagging, everyone would be doing it.
Well, I see it way more often than I should, and it works way more often than it should, then.
I don't even know what it is they're doing, all I see is zig-zagging, but every time I see that and swing, my camera freaks out and I whiff. I can't explain it.
-
@Seanzu said:

There is no hitreg tech lmao
Then explain how I've had Survivors do this weird zig-zag within centimeters, causing my lunge camera to go ballistic in a chase and ultimately whiff, costing me lots of time.
Hell, I had it happen several times in the same chase, so I just abandoned them.
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2206059#Comment_2206059
and on their screen they probably very well did stand up, but apparently that's the survivors fault that connections take time.
When are we going to punish killers for hitting survivors when on my survivor side it didn't look like he hit me at all.
See how these arguments are similar, caused by the same thing, but you'd argue against punishing the killer because it's not their fault.
For the record, I am all for fixing hit registration, but at the same time, there is an argument to be made for the stupid hitreg-tech that forces a Killer to whiff during a lunge by running back and forth excessively fast as you go about your business.
-
Okay, so here's the deal, as I understand things:
Grab-baiting in itself is fine, yes.
What ISN'T okay, however, is the fact the game outright says "Nah" more often than not, making grabs a moot point more often than not.
If the devs fixed the way grabs are handled to be more fair to the Killer, then I'd be all for baiting it out.
However, as it stands, grabs are ######### up, so I think there should be something to even out the playing field SOMEHOW.
I just don't know if this particular thing is that thing, though.

I'd go with this;
4 solos - no bonus
2 solos/ 1 duo - 25% bonus
2 duos - 50% bonus
Trio + solo - 75% bonus
4 man set - 100% bonus
No advanced warning. Show me after the game who was with who. It would be enlightening and I'd get rewarded for the challenge. This should have been implemented years ago.
You know, for an extra 100%, on top of BBQ, I'd be tempted.
I can get 60k on a good match as Blight, which would make it 90k if it's 30x3...
Tasty.
-
Here's the deal, from a Killer main:
When it comes to tunneling and camping, both have their purposes. Survivors who reward camping with altruism just feed into it, so just pound the gens. Sad, but that's the only effective strat, in that case.
Meanwhile, T-Bagging and clicking a flashlight mid-match are pretty darn annoying, but nothing especially new in gaming as a whole. They serve to aggravate the Killer and prompt them to make dumb, simple mistakes.
But when you sit in the exit gate, butt-dancing like a monkey while I watch from across the map via Blood Warden, that's just toxicity. Leave already.

Oh for sure.
I don't like NOED but I don't really complain about it. I think it's a crutch but it's just one perk of many. The main reason why i take such a big issue with the whole J-flick exploit thing to begin with is people's mentalities of calling it a 'tech' instead of refusing to call it what it is
Not to mention the people who act like they can speak for survivor players, saying "oh it has counterplay, it's fine - don't do anything about it"
Yeah, that's fair enough.
I don't think J-Flick is fair, but I haven't really seen it in action to tell for sure.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2140357#Comment_2140357
I'll explain why I think NOED is different
NOED activates only at the end of the game, and it's tied to only one totem.
Ruin and Undying had this problem where survivors could cleanse basically 4 totems and ruin would STILL be up. That's a lot of time wasted for survivors doing nothing
At least when you know where NOED is and when you cleanse it, it's gone. It didn't respawn.
Fair enough, I suppose.
But many Survivors still complain about it instead of adapting, no?
They don't want to get better, they want the game handed to them on a silver platter.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2140345#Comment_2140345
RuinDying was complained about due to it being bullshit against solos. SWF could deal with it easily, solos were the issue.
Isn't that true of most situations, though?
Alas, if only BHVR would give Survivors as a collective comms, and then buff Killers to match that power...
Pretty sure about 70% of our problems would fade away on the spot.
-
@Brokenbones said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2140345#Comment_2140345
Old ruin undying wasn't easily counterable though. How can you say "minus RNG" when RNG is what made it a big problem in the first place.
Having to potentially cleanse all 5 totems to get rid of 1 perk isn't good design.
No, and that's true.
But at the same time, explain NOED. Very similar problem, much easier to handle, and yet people still complain about it every day of the week, and then some!
Most Survivors don't want to adapt. They just want to play M1 simulator.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2139833#Comment_2139833
Survivors despise things that need them to adapt? No.
Survivors despise people who voluntarily and knowingly abuse an exploit? Yes.
Then explain all the bitching and moaning about Ruindying, despite the fact that it was a relatively easily counterable thing, minus RNG, and also explain NOED, one of the most hated perks in the entire game by Survivors.
All they had to do was adapt. Do bones. Or just leave instead of T-bagging the Killer in the exit gate like a dipthong.
But they cried and bitched and moaned instead, and Undying got bonked by the nerf bat.
I'm not saying it was undeserved, Ruindying was the equivalent of the "Smol PP build" for Survivors. But take that context into account.

No. Crows will remain perched until either a killer or survivor gets too close to them. They’ll fly up and disappear for a set time (I’ve never counted it), and then fly back down to their perches.
So if they fly up, they’ve been immediately disturbed by somebody close by, and if you see them flying down to perch again, that tells you someone has recently been in that area.
From what I've read/seen, it's about 15 seconds before a crow will come back down again.
So if you see crows coming back, then someone was there about 15 seconds ago.
-

Yah when you read it's part of the game what he's really saying is I like to camp so leave it alone.
Again to spell it out very slowly if the devs want to have camping theb fine. My point is about how to fix camping if they want to which it seems they do. They just ho about it poorly. And can someone walk me through how having the hook timer not go down didn't stop the camping if it was tried in the past?
It wasn't that it didn't stop camping.
That wasn't the point of pausing the hook timer, but it helped.
It was that people would bait the Killer into running around the hook, pausing the timer indefinitely while the other two Survivors slammed gens, leaving the Killer with nothing by the end of the game, not even one kill.
-
Coming from a Killer main, I can say that the bug leads to absolutely nothing.
If anything, it's like having a free Enduring with slightly less of a stunlock, anx if you smack the pallet that gets dumped in your face, you can still shuffle for a brief moment, making it only minorly better than getting smacked.
The first few times I experienced the bug, I was left confused for about as long as it would take for the stun to wear off, and ended up smacking the pallets, meaning that I was left with about the same downtime as normal.
Frankly, the fact that I can still DO something, anything, makes this a good unintentional feature, to me. Even if it's just looking away.

I'm glad Rancor Roulette is catching on!

Tunneling and camping have been widely-used strategies for as long as the gen rush meta has been a thing, and probably even before that. It dates back to the days of Bubba's release, even.
Nobody can deny that these are huge problems and not crack a smile, but they are valid tactics, just as pairing DS into Head-On into a pallet from out of nowhere is a valid tactic.
-
You know, it's funny.
I loved Blight from the onset, but everyone and their mother said he was garbage.
Day 1 release, he was considered "okay".
A couple months later, everyone finally started to catch onto what I was saying from day 1 of his gameplay being available to test.
Now, he's considered OP, and needs a nerf by the Survivor hivemind.
What a journey my boy has been on.
-
@Brokenbones said:
- A programmer has said that it's unintended, the restriction on Blight's turning was intentional so bypassing it - is an exploit
- You talk about counterplay, I understand the perspective but why should survivor plays be expected to not only learn about an exploit, but learn counter-play to an exploit (an exploit that isn't even intended to be apart of the killer to begin with and not all blight players will use)
- Needing to mess with settings to unlock a higher skill ceiling is not healthy for the game. Applies to both sides, not just killer
- Just because an exploit takes a bit of know-how and skill to pull off doesn't mean it's okay.
Regarding your first point, that developer has stated that it is unintended, yet they have no intention of removing it. J-Flicks, I dunno, but I know the point-turn is a feature, not an exploit.
