who does like to run from one side to another again again to hit survivors for 5 seconds of chase and do that thousand times in a match? That's not even a chase he just comes like a relative of yours who was passing by and came by to you for 5 mins. He comes and goes you don't do gen he doesn't get hooks quickly because he comes and goes all the time.
I do.
I like power to easily injure survivors. He is also great for 3-gen defense. I can get build on him that allow me to ingore gens on just focus on chase.

Not doing a lazy persons work for them, OniWantsYourMacaroni is just more selfless I guess.
___________
And I'm sorry you didn't find a dev comment, but the reasoning applies. People need to use the search function. That's literally the point. So we don't rehash the same topics over and over again.
This wasn't comment by dev, so he didn't do anything really. Everyone can find that, I did.
But I was interested if I can find comment by dev. Unless you know phrase / title, there is no way to know what post was it.
That's why I think your comment was pointless. You talked about a specific comment in thousands of comments, which is no way to find for him.

I'm not talking about countering him. His power is just so stupid that you would have to play forever to end a match if he is doing a good job.
If it takes forever to end, then you are just doing a bad job. You can prevent him from chaining frenzy, just do that. If you manage to stop his chain, he has to commit on you, then you have your normal chase.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3047408#Comment_3047408
You would hold different button (W) and go back to holding first button. I would just have to do another senseless action instead of just chilling waiting for skill check / killer.
You can't make working on gen interesting. This would make those 10 seconds -> same time as you said -> way more annoying imo.

The grind has increased. It took around 40 mill to upgrade every character to level 40 with 1 character with all perks at tier 3.
now it costs 140 mill to upgrade every character to get tier 1 perks for every character.
someone said new players like to shake it up and use more than one character, o don’t think this is true… main reason they change is to unlock other perks, or use items in the inventory they’ve got from having to upgrade it when they run out of good inventory items with there main survivor.
shaking things up with a different survivor is purely cosmetic…. Not decreasing a ‘competitive grind’ just decreasing the ‘cosmetic grind’ atleast for survivors…. I don’t get how people think it’s better… I think these are the veteran players who will benefit with this…
not the ones who have not got the perks yet… they will still have fallen behind… now talking about shaking things up… people much prefer to shake things up with perk builds than what character they are going to use for that game. Something that actually affects how you play the game.
I don’t see why so many people are against this post?
because this change is good for them. It's good for anyone who has most perks on all killers -> you get every killer prestige 3.

Not even close to being the same. Shouldn't effect solo queue at all. We are talking just mere meters from the generator, not like across the map or even two tiles away. Literally talking like 5-10m away. Something like that if done 2 or 3 times would still add 10 seconds of repair time to a generator.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3047401#Comment_3047401
That would then annoy me way more than 10 extra seconds.
and this is dbd, it would spawn inside a texture and you wouldn't be able to finish that gen anymore.

This has been addressed by devs, please use search function.
Oh right, like anyone is going to dig in few years of posts where only thing you know is it's about huntress / hatchet / hitbox and hope there is chance any dev addressed it.
If you are here for some time and you know the answer, just say it. It's not like this topic is here everyday.
It's same amount of effort as your comment, but actually has some value.
-
Problem is that any secondary objective -> like collecting parts etc. is going to screw soloQ even more.
It's easy for SWF, you just make a call who is going to get that part, who got interrupted by a killer etc. but soloQ can't do that. You will have multiple / no survivors going for those parts etc. basically same as unhooking.

Nah, they aren't serious.
Too many people "misunderstood" that the reward was supposed to be seen by others to be a simple misunderstanding.
I'm happy you'll be satisfied with the end game icon, because I for sure will not.
Well, we will see.
It's either your way, or they just shamelessly lied about it to get more players grind during anniversary.
There wasn't really room for "misunderstood", what they talked about and what they presented are just two completely different things.
-
@c0gnu5 said:
Because they wanted to address the fact that grind is growing exponentially with each dlc, and removing perk tiers is not solving this problem.
neither did this for most players, it increased their grind instead.
Thing is, there is actually not many players that will target prestige 3, unless they already have most perks -> veteran players.
1,2M vs 4,5M BP is huge difference unless you want to play that character. If you don't want to play that character, it's just lot of addons/items/offerings wasted.
So lot of players are going to go path prestige 1 + bloodweb on killers they want.
-
@Lycidas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3043850#Comment_3043850
Of course.
And that's why they released it like that in my opinion.
It's common practice when someone want to be seen in a better light without doing the actual effort to be better.
You just hope it's like that, because it would mean we are going to get actually something better.
But I think it's like 50/50 that they are serious with this garbage.
-
@Lycidas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3043839#Comment_3043839
Different point of views.
There's been more than enough complaints when they announced the "special reward", even before releasing the PTB.
Personally, I couldn't give two ######### about an icon in the end game screen. Noone ever looks there and god forbid you have a bad match while having a shiny icon at the same time. The ######### you'd get from the 1 twat noticing it would be endless.
Well, anything is better than their piss filter.
-
@Lycidas said:
My theory, so take it with a grain of salt (and maybe a little tinfoil hat)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They initially had in mind to give people a different Prestige icon in the end game screen.
BHVR vaguely describes the reward people would get.
After a few complaints, they realized this idea was a bit ######### (we'll call this "######### reward").
They came up with a similar but WORSE idea (ugly glittery portrait that noone else can see) so that the community would complain and ask for the initial "######### reward".
Now after PTB is finished they can give the original ######### reward because "They listened to the community" and the community will be happy about being given ######### rewards.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tinfoil hat off
I wouldn't call special prestige icons #########. That's what I wanted, that's what I grind for.
Not this garbage that I can get better with mods...

I play mostly killer and I don't really care for addons, less will be still enough for me and I will save a lot of BP's thanks to this patch
of course you will. So do I
Those changes are decent for veteran players who already have most of the grind behind us, but wait for new dlc when you have to farm 9M without BBQ.
And this is going to absolutely suck for new players. It's going to be way worse for them.
-
@c0gnu5 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3043565#Comment_3043565
Grind will be smaller.
We did math, it won't.
It depends on how many characters you care about. If you actually want to play all killers for example, it will be 50% lower.
but addons will be harder to get with all those resets.
I play only one survivor, so for me it increased by 20% instead.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
yes i would but that doesn't mean it should exist
I mean, better option would it be basekit, but BHVR likes to fix everything with perks.
For prestige 3 you need 4,5M BP, without BBQ you are going to need +/- 180 games. Reduced grind, huh...
It will be lower when daily / challenged can basically skip you a game, but you won't get under 100 unless you play only few games per day.
-
@c0gnu5 said:

Not for the same thing, since this patch will reduce grind.
BP bonuses in perks is simply bad design.

On the first point, cool I didn't know that. I still don't think it's comparable
As far as the second point, I hard disagree that it's easier to get WGLF stacks.
- you have to compete with other survivors so if someone else gets that unhook before you, no stack for you.
- Again, you have to go out of your way to take hits for someone else who is injured whereas BBQ stacks literally just come to you for playing the game. I can't recall a single recent game where I haven't been able to catch and hook everyone at least once.
- None of that negates the fact that with the BP bonus removed from both perks, one perk is still an A tier perk while the other is D tier at best
BBQ is not A tier perk with just an aura reading. There is not many killers where BBQ will be actually good perk for them.

I feel like you forgot your original argument, because now you're openly stating that you are intentionally triggering DS.
Nah, they definetly know I like to play along, so when I see them trying to use their perk, I feel like I am forced to help them with it.
The part where I kill them as just a minor detail.

Cool story. Personal anecdotes make not for a compelling argument.
Nor do they change anything I said.
Personal anecdotes make not for a compelling argument.
personal experience is not good for you, mathematical evidence neither.
Oh right, because your opinion on that topic is not based on personal experience and you have something to prove it.
-
@foxsansbox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3043048#Comment_3043048
Does not change the fact that BBQ is not a guaranteed 100% BP, WGLF less so and the people who use 100% more BP in their argument are being disingenuous. Regardless, putting BP riders on only one perk for each side is terrible game design. OP has the right of it.
I'm not addressing the rest, it's not on topic.
I know results of my games during anniversary. I have played around 50 hours as a killer, all with BBQ and I remember only 4 games where I failed to get 4 stacks -> I had 2/3. and that was because of challenges and I played pig / clown.
-
@foxsansbox said:
A lot of it is simply poor logic. As evidenced by the first response you got there are still people who think those two perks equal 100% more BP, when in reality it obviously isn't.
I and other people did math behind it and find out their grind reduction as based on how many characters you want to play.
For me as survivor it increased by 20% instead and I play about 5 killers, so grind is same there for me.
I have played most of my games with BBQ and I focused to get 4 stacks in those games, so for me it is 100% more BP unless I screwed it in that game.
-
@twistedmonkey said:
What seems to be is that possibly the team who was working on this grind/prestige change did so with the extra BP from BBQ and WGLF being around or another means of earning the same.
That could be that perk changes had not been finalized or they were told about other means of earning the same such as the BP incentive to play the other side.
That incentive itself seems like a great idea but how does that help mains who only play one side or those who boot up with a side in mind to play depending on how they are feeling.
Using BP perks was always a choice but it seems many chose to do it. This incentive is the same choice but it could become more of a chore as its now the choice of playing a side you may not wish too for the same effect.
Mainly it changes from 75%-100% any time I want into 0-100% sometimes.
Like every day I am going to login, find out it's 0-50% for killers and just leaves and hope it will be better anyother time....
-
@c0gnu5 said:
I'm happy that bp bonuses are gone, now I have 4 perk slots instead of 3
You are happy that you will need twice more games for same thing?
Prestige costs 50k, you will need to play 2 games just to pay for basically nothing.
-
If they made a perk that would only increase BP, I would use it.
I don't like grind, I like to do it as fast as possible. It will take me twice more games with this, so I don't like it, simple as that.
They grind reduce clearly didn't do anything, it's same / worse for most players and we are going to need twice more games for same amount of BP.
-
I have done all my adepts in red ranks -> before grades.
It is possible, but it's hard. Mainly some killers like Oni, Bubba etc. with Chaser.

Umad? That's perfect for the survivor that is a strong looper, you fell right into their plans and now they will run you much longer than the less skilled survivors on the solo que team.
Well, they died, so looks like they were not as great as they thought...
You really think just because they know how to jump into a locker with perk, then they are good loopers? If they were that good, then they wouldn't be on hook in first place.
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3042132#Comment_3042132
But in both cases, you are actively choosing to eat the DS by focusing on a survivor that was unhooked less than 60 seconds ago, before they could do anything else. You are choosing to take that DS, instead of going for someone who cannot have DS.
Taking that DS is entirely -your- fault.
not really, they want to use DS, so I let them. I am such a nice killer. Then killed them for it.
When I try to actively choose other survivor, they are trying to stop me, because they know I can't do anything about it, so I prove them wrong by killing them first.

That's how games go. You use what the developers put into it and complain about it when it doesn't synchronize. It doesn't matter if the two don't go well together- They should. Otherwise, the game wasn't built well.
or you should be better play and learn what works together and what doesn't.
That's like me using ruin and then cry that I can't use my pop while it's active... It's just dumb, think about what you are doing, devs are not supposed to do it for you.

Then it doesn't make a difference if they have DS or not, they could still end your power by hiding in a locker so you have to end the Frenzy to pick them up.
But they did have DS, so I killed them for it.
You are saying I 100% had to tunnel when I get DS, which is just not true.
There are two ways how I am going to get DS and both are based on survivor's actions. Either hiding inside locker in front of me, or bodyblocking me while I am trying to chase someone else.
-
@Grandpa_Crack_Pipe said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041807#Comment_3041807
You punish survivors using perks to try and keep themselves from getting kicked out early by kicking them out early?
Yeah, pretty much.
Thing is that normally I wouldn't tunnel, so if I eat DS it means they just went hard on bodyblocking and I waited out their BT for it, or went inside a locker.
Otherwise I would just hit them for STBFL stacks and left for someone else.
-
I think removing medkit part would be more than enough...
-
@Firellius said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3041729#Comment_3041729
They absolutely cannot force you to eat DS by going into a locker. If you get hit by DS, outside of end-game, you are tunnelling and you deserve to be hit with DS.
That said, OTR is poised to make things worse for both sides of the aisle. It can be used offensively, and can be circumvented if a killer tunnels hard enough.
Really?
I am Legion main. I just want to use frenzy to find other survivors, if they would let me hit them I would just run away, but they hide inside a locker with DS, what else am I supposed to do?
I just open the locker and then use the fact that they don't have DS anymore.
-
@dspaceman20 said:

No one forces you to tunnel. Your being ridiculous
No, I just like to punish survivors for using those perks.
-
So basically, if they don't nerf off the record, then we should wait those 5 seconds and hit a survivor to find out if he has off the record.
If he does, then I am going to tunnel the hell out of him, for using that perk.
I have done same with DS, if you force me to eat DS by going inside a locker, you are dead.
-
Just don't hide hoping killer will find that other survivor. That's so annoying. I had so much time wasted like this as a killer, I have let them bleed out for it (I was looking for them over 20 minutes).
You can try donate an item and hope killer will let you live, or just go and try to get a good chase.

Nope
