people do well with freddy but i don't see anyone calling him powerful.

True but those that get know how to get the most out of him do so and the same for Rin. The Nurse is a perfect example of those that will learn the cahmp to the fullest will get the most out of them. IF you're not willing to work hard to maximize and learn them to the fullest they'll always be trash.

Dude her skillcap isn't high, she doesn't require you to multitask. Shes about as high IQ as leather face. You chase people thats it, there's no longer an element of surprise from the PTB, and mind games are just suddenly reversing the trajectory of a loop to close the gap on a survivor faster, every killer mind games and at 115% move speed compared to her 110% its way easier. Thats not a skill block, you're just being restricted by her base kit.

She's not nurse, you don't need to think in your head and calculate the distance between you and a survivor while knowing precisely when to release the charge. She's not billy, you're not reeling your chase backwards just to charge a chainsaw while watching the meter so it doesn't overflow while at the same time watching the survivor and calculating exactly when to press over and land the hit. She's not pig, you're not predicting where people go with traps, or estimating time in your head until you need to refocus that person or evaluating. And she's not trapper or hag, where full knowledge of map layouts and predictable chase locations are key to the use of your powers.

She's BASIC. You lunge you chop ######### thats it. All the other mechanics they went on about with the invisibility and the phasing you can't see and have no control over as a killer because frankly, you're not really invisible, you're blind, and your power cooldown is so long you run into moments where a single pallet drop after the initial chase may ruin your shot to drop chase back track and guard a gen just to return to the chase later, AKA 200IQ nurse plays.

Mobility, Map pressure, Forced concentration(ala actual stealth killers forcing survivors to play different because they lose the ability to track the killer changing the decisions a survivor would normally make), and gen/progress control (ala RBT's doc shocks), Sudden death instant down killers that make getting into chases to begin with insanely risky, and projectile killers who can manipulate the direction of a survivor and remove safety from a distance.

^ Her kit as it stands currently with the loud ass haunt noises, forces her into the mobility category, BUT, at the lowest end of any killer with mobility due to her 110% structure and power cooldown. Which means she's not only bottom end of the mobility category among nurse and billy, but doesn't show up at all in the other 5 categories. Every killer in this game excels aka masters at 1 of those categories, or does decently well in 2. She does poorly in mobility and beyond bad at stealth so just like I mentioned before, where is her niche?

    Going 5/5 being maximum.
Nurse 5/5 mobility, 0 on all other categories.
Billy 3/5 mobility, 2/5 on sudden death/instant downs.
Myers 4/5 on sudden death the dudes add ons let you mori people. And 1/5 on stealth.
Hillbilly 5/5 on sudden death (only due to aoe since he can multi down)
Doc 5/5 on Gen control and progress
Pig 3/5 on gen control, and 2/5 on stealth
Clown 4/5 on projectiles 1/5 mobility if you wanna factor in he's the only killer capable of slowing people.
    Huntress 5/5 on projectiles
Hag 5/5 on map pressure and trapping
Trapper 4/5 on map pressure and trapping
    Freddy 4/5 on stealth
    Wraith 5/5 on stealth
Spirit 3/5 on mobility and 0/5 on stealth because you're not really stealth.....

You need to reach a 4 total to even be considered viable imo and she doesn't do that atm.

Mind games exist in tight areas where she can fake the haunting power use or barely tap it, but in general loops it doesn't appear as with noise indicators and fathers glasses in an open area she can secure a second follow up hit to put survivors into the dying state but she relies on survivors being injured to see their blood for tracking or have super loud injury noises because if you guess wrong and drained some of your haunting for an attack miss, you get looped till daylight. The clown had a great ptb, two parts that showed changes. Spirit, people couldn't even test what went live.
  • The Spirit (like every killer in the game except for the top two) suffers from being a horror character in an action game. You're not really supposed to win or make progress with her, merely inconvenience the survivors with your slightly annoying and ineffectual power. The developers have to make sure that new killers are hot garbage on release for a minimum of 2 years before a buff/rework.

There's no way you can release this many underwhelming killers in a row by accident. It's intentional.

Well not really as the clown is good but he isn't moving at sonic billy speed. I feel that for "stealth" invisible characters they have freddy reviews fresh in their minds.
  • Buffs confirmed, cooldown is stupid long, poorly done ptb etc etc, so many dead horses getting beat.

they nerfed it so its not a insta heal but is faster.

Yeh, but increasing skill check frequency would be counter productive to decreasing the bonus.
  • Yeh, people forgot that, they won't know till it happens
  • Damn then idk, this patch has latency and some weird bugs, hillbillies sniped me with a chainsaw several time. The latency is bad in this patch. A pig dashed and hit me when I was a good ways away from the window, like a second away. 1 second moving away from a window should keep anyone safe lol. Yeah, I'm on ps4 as well.

If there is some way to put Jason in the game they should also put Tommy Jarvis in as well...don't you agree?

    Jason Vorhees
    Face Mask
    Beartraps
    Machete

    Evan MacMillan
    Face Mask
    Beartraps
    Machete

If you MUST have Jason Vorhees in Dead by Daylight then I strongly encourage you to ask for a trapper costume that resembles Jason instead of just adding a trapper clone.
Why would it be bear traps though, could be a rage meter that fills up with time in chase and damage dealing hits to survivors. At max he vaults quicker, recovers 50% faster from stun, and pallets instabreak on stun impact, break pallets 30% faster. Would ne a chase tank. What if the power boosted his strength for the physical trials of chasing survivors since he is knowm for his brute strength.
  • Oh damn, what platform?

Word, especially in ptb when healing was 80%. Devs trynna slow down heals 80% was too much.

In all seriousness though perhaps you're just not that good with her or she doesn't fit your playstyle. Most games at rank 1 she 3-4's either very quickly or after a 15-20 minute match. There's very few games where she doesn't get at least 1 ore more kills let alone anyone actually getting out.

She's currently the top played killer I've been facing at rank 1 and Monto has a pure evil build going that's getting copied it's so good.

I have yet to see spirit gameplay against competent SWF where she does well.
15-20 minutes, are we still talking about DBD? Every killer can win if the survivors go afk

    Oh and by the way.
Quickly checked out monto on youtube and found a video "The Spirit Needs Tweaks! | Dead By Daylight DISCUSSIONS WITH MONTO" where he explains "The Spirit needs tweaks to be viable in High Ranked Play
    "

Good lord, @powerbats try again

She is getting tweaks and buffs, already comfirmed, and the spirit can see scratch marks without perks, does this guy know what he's talking about? Yeh she's handicapped and mostly by a ridiculous recharge speed since she can only use the power at 100%.

2 kills how? That is based on hooks not point I think right? And 2 dead isn't a win, it's a draw.

You also ran add on for extra points so it's more about the multiplier than how you played, how many survivors were hooked and which hook phase etc goes into that.

I believe I got 4 hooks, both going from first hook to second stage, and both dead upon their second hook. Possibly 5 hooks? And either way, a draw, as you put it, doesn't seem to be in keeping with the lowest possible rating, except for the one reserved specially for disconnecting

The wiki (deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com) should have a full guide on rank, FYI. You don't need to figure it out.

I'm certainly looking, and I certainly don't see it. Only thing I've seen is in the "play as killer" page, where it says "less than 7 killer goals" displeases the entity, and you depip.

I see, so two left unhooked?

what's the point in learning her when you could learn nurse and get 500x the success.
not to mentjon how they killed any semblance of mindgames or stealth with the changes out of the PTB, her power is low tier now, anecdotal evidence of people sometimes doing well against poor survivors means very little.

Because some people want more variety in a game besides playing nurse 24/7

theres more killers that are much better than spirit than just nurse
The spirit is getting buffs which should've been at launch like the clown buffs but we are getting them later. She is a demon with some add ons but once again add on reliant. She should be ok without add ons or good without add ons, not meh. So, good to see what will change.

There's tons of times where you can be out of range of the totem and not even get a notification.....

    You always get that notification.

I had to learn that in a game where some survivors found it funny to tapp the totem over the whole game and my screen exploded, no matter where I was

You don't always get a notification. Some games you can go in, and if someone is too far out of range of you and touches the totem, you get 0 notification, and you can tell, because there will be times you lose a charge of thrill because of a dull totem and you don't get any notification.

Guess that notification got lost between all the other sound spamm going on during the game. I never noticed that there actually was a notification missing and the only time I missed notfications was when I played doc and everybody screamed like crazy

You only get notified for hexes, dulls dont notify you until you lose a token.

I don't get notifications for hexes either.

useless perks, Spirit Fury she still gets stun, same thing as if she got hit by the pallet useless, hunted ground useless if the survivors know that that killer is the Spirit they just wont cleanse the lit totems unless they are just greedy players. Blind as a bat with no radar when using her abilities what would they come up next? I work hard for my money and the Devs. do too. I am in supporting the game but sell me something I'm going to use. Don't get me wrong I love Spirit moei/animations/looks great, but come on blinded abilities far less fun for me. Not to mention a very, very dark map screen at 100% still can't see much.

Haunted Ground is op I'm just glad other killers haven't learned the perk yet, it will be ridiculous on characters like Huntress and Nurse. Spirit Fury at least has a use, I think it's best designed for killers that get stunned frequently (wraith, trapper, clown, hag, pig, freddy). Rancor is outright op I've seen spirit kill the obsession every game they have it especially with save the best for last, you get a benefit for both perks (focus non obsession then mori the obsession)

How does that make rancor op lol

having a guaranteed kill is always strong.

Nothing is gauranteed for killer perks. So that's exaggeration guy lol. No killers have gauranteed anything especially since rancor shows obsession the killer to stealth. Don't be that guy and go straight to an exit gate, or go straight to one gate and turn for the next after 5 seconds like you would bbq. Guaranteed is a word most of my survivors use as exaggeration, many times I know of survivors who dodged rancor. Why? Cause it has much counterplay.

The perk is bitter murmur with some sole survivor to balance it out, but it has a mori to go with it. If you don't utilize that you can see them when they finish the last gen and the obsession is exposed then you aren't playing well at all or you're against an swf that is overly protecting the obsession. You can couple this with tinkerer and stealth onto their location, kill one survivor, if you have dying light they will take 20 seconds longer to power the exit gates. Rancor gives you so much power if you couple it with other obsession perks since you don't have to take another aura perk for it. I say guaranteed cause I have seen every obsessed survivor get killed by rancor especially if the killer is having a bad game and needs that one kill.

Also, due to the evasion buff it grants it isnt the best with remember me unless it's freddy or tier 1 meyers. Being found late game with remember me is canceled our by being exposed so you get 1 stack as opposed to 2, and the mori is cinematic and keeps the killer in one spot long enough to make that stack irrelevant.

I've always wondered, since I've gotten ratings that I felt varied from my play in various matches, but this last match confirms how the game does it, at least as far as I can tell (I mean, I'm sure the info is out there, but hey, I want to play the game, not research mechanics).

So, I was playing trapper on the pale rose. Doing my daily, getting 3 survivors in traps. I'm running the padded jaws and a cheap bag. Find a few survivors relatively early, but after chasing them just a bit, I go about setting traps. Long story short, I end the match with 2 kills and 17K base bloodpoints. However, I get the "entity displeased" and depip. Mostly because I 'lost' chases, and didn't even get an emblem for that category.

Not too bummed about it, I just find it interesting. 17K and 2 kills tells me that I didn't play that match too badly.

1 it makes me glad to see D-strike have a counter although I as a solo survivor never use any obsession perks and it really sucks when you still get obsession.

I can play the whole match without being seen then right at the end I'm instant down and instant kill. Would be nice if the Mori didn't apply unless you have been hooked at least once during the match or you are the last remaining survivor. <--- (Only if you didn't have any obsession perks equipped)

Either way I don't think the perk is over or under powered just not very fun on a interactive level.

Since it gives the obsession an evasion advantage, wouldn't  make sense to have to be hooked first. Counter productive. People just don't like how personal it is, you still got to play the game and carry the team, still fine and fair. Obsession is obsession and effects shouldn't be based on survivor perks as this opens an avenue to affects other obsession perks.

Freddy is considered the worst killer of em all by basically the whole community.
If you say that he is viable at red ranks, you should write a guide and make a YouTube tutorial.
Because so far, I have a hard time believing you just saying it.

No, I do well with freddy red ranks too but you need the best odd ons which gives him early hag issues, need the best add ons and gimicky set up.
  • I am starting a movement. As a Freddy main, I am asking all players who like to play Freddy and or main him what they think some good ideas would be to help him be better. Any ideas are welcome. We know the Devs are working on giving a quality of life change to Freddy. I would like all your ideas. I have seen other posts, I feel we can place all of our suggestions here and perhaps the devs can look back on this post and get the communities ideas on Freddy.

1: Make the base transition 4 or 5 seconds
2: Make it so failed self care skill checks can not wake you up
3: Make it so as soon as you hit someone with the dream transition powers it stops progress on Totems, Gens, Sabo and healing. Just for the transition phase that way we don't have to stand there and watch them finish the totem and or the gen. We may not be able to hit them but their progress will not proceed till they are in the dream.

I think just with those changes he would be much more viable. I am sure you all have more ideas and can build upon this post. So I thank you all for reading this and posting your ideas here. See you all in game

    Cheers,
    EvilBarney666

I agree, he doesn't need anything fancy added. Just that survivors are going to be mad at him no matter what but with those changes he will be fine. I'm a freddy main too and people say he needs all this help when he just needs qol stuff like hag and trapper not a complete rework. His strength is his vision and the trade off is he can't hit you till you're asleep which is fine. Also, waking up and healing off the floor being one action needs to be reverted and he will be in a good spot. He isn't supposed to be fun to play against like the doctor isn't. Devs should know this and the general community knows this, supposed to be the nightmare. A powerful demon that you feel relieved to have escaped, bring the fear into the game and you laugh it off because it was a good match and you deserved to escape and it feels good. Or you die and you feel bad. The doc, the pig, they aren't fun to play against but fun to play as because they slow the game down for survivors, any character with a slowdown on the game in their kit and a away to track or have a chase advantage in stealth isn't fun to play against for survivors. They like fair killers, that are weak and give them a chance to escape.

The killer has the ability to kill survivors so if you can’t kill them that’s your problem. You can use ruin and so many other things. Versing a 4-man is like versing a killer with mori. Ok, maybe more swf then killers with mori but you can still win against swf. It’s about your skill level and this game wasn’t meant to be easy. As far as fun goes I believe everyone can have fun playing the game but it can’t be balance between survivors and killers. One side will have more than the other.
Killer has to be stronger and no, swf isn't the same as a killer with a mori. Swf is like a nurse without fatigue and an ebony mori. Not meant to be but swf breaks the balance since game wasn't designed for survivors having that much info, over altruism kills swf, without that competent swf is a tough match. However, @Sandbagger69 looping isn't the issue. Issue is lack of objectives to keep survivors busy. Some maps, killers are powerless and have to eat a loop unless they run bamboozle, spirit fury, butal strength, enduring, but without ruin game ends in 5 minutes or less with most killers.
  • They did a pretty good job so far with the design, characters look beautiful. But the ptb was a pretty gud jub so fuur, seemed rush. The clown ptb we played with and checked out all the development. We were always behind on the spirit, testing something that wasn't supposed to go live, etc. I love the map as survivor, hate it as killer.

You know, when I first started this game and I had <30 hours as killer, I use to hate SWFs that brought high ranking teammates into the round. I use to get bullied, looped for days, gen rushed and pretty much 0K those rounds with the exception of sometimes killing the low ranking teammates.

I'm still not saying it doesn't suck for new killers to face these types of SWFs, because it definitely does. It takes a lot of the fun out of it especially when you jump out of the 15->20 baby bracket. On the flipside, facing survivors with half a brain and decent perks really helped me improve as killer. At one point, a "killer switch" just flipped and I started to actually do decent and learned to mind game survivors. I was able to easily soar to rank 1 thanks to these improvements over time.

I know it's not the salt you are looking for, but hang in there it does get better.

It doesn't get better. Other survivors can mess up your game if you are going solo. It's a fact.
Yeh, but that creates the mix ups! You never know what you're gonna get. Survivors are supposed to ne unreliable, swf was added later and killed this balance and gave an edge to some survivor teams. If you person found ruin, everyone found ruin.
  • I think every character should have at least one outfit as good at camo as P3 Claudette, just to make it so people play the character they want to
All non licensed characters have camo, licensed is up to the holder.

Not bout the trophy but yeh that is an issue on one map, there is also a killer fat shame spot on that map.
  • There needs to be unranked mode that isn't invite only, and after a certain rank can't have 4man swf. This will help with balancing

You're late. I already tested it, the video is there, and she can't see the blood.

My bad, I already know she couldn't, just stating the obvious. Some people will still try it lol you know how forum peeps be.
  • Head phones and stridor is good, sounds of survivors are louder in her phase walk than it is for a standard killer, stridor tier 3 was super loud and survivors were pretty much screaming at me.

Try to use Predator and Stridor (Bloodhound?). The main idea is to track survs by their scratch marks, moans and blood. It becomes ridiculously easy to do with these perks and decent earphones. Also you can try to mindgame injured surv in the pallet if you want. The thing is, the surv doesn't see you but you can hear them and see their scratch marks and blood. This is a very huge advantage about the Spirit

I think you haven't played the Spirit.

My words sound obvious but actually explain a reliable strategy. You know what? I think ppl should stop complaining about nothing and start getting good. They don't want to learn the new killer, they just want easy win every match. I 4K every game I play using this tactic btw.

If you would play the Spirit, you would know, that she can;t see blood while using her power.

I just said it's possible to track survs by blood using Bloodhound, but I don't run it at all and prefer Stridor instead. I know she is not able to see the blood by default. Bet there was a misunderstanding.

"The main idea is to track survs by their scratch marks, moans and blood.", "The thing is, the surv doesn't see you but you can hear them and see their scratch marks and blood. This is a very huge advantage about the Spirit.", no, there was no misunderstanding, you were just lying and now you are retreating. Stop pretending that you play her, because you do not even know how she works.

And who knows? Maybe you? Dude you are very funny. Everyone knows how she works, but not everyone plays her the way devs want her to be played like. All ppl can do is complain and ask for buffs, because MAN IT'S NOT EZZZZZ TO PLAY HER ANOTHER TRASH KILLER GOOD JOB SO FAR

Don;t dodge, like a typical survivor. You got catched on your lie, and you went batshit.

This becomes kinda boring. Maybe you want at least tell me where I lied?

Read my previous comments, the same ones, that you quoted.

It's really hard to explain you where you're wrong in foreign language (in english in this case) but I'm still gonna try to.

I played the Spirit for around 20 hours already and know how she works. Her ability allows her to track survivor movements by scratch marks, moans and even blood (if you run Bloodhound). So, I have no idea what makes you think that I'm lying (really, where am I doing this? xD) and 'pretending to play her'. She is good at where she is now, but I don't mind some tweaks here and there. I don't want other killers be, as you said, weak. Guess you're thinking that I'm one of these 'dirty survivor mains' but I'm actually not. I main both sides :)

I've played Spirit for ~30 hours in PTB, now I have her P3-50 with all perks, spend next ~30 hours on her, and she is weak.

Also your lies discredited all your further arguments.

I don't ask you how much time you spent playing Spirit, I ask you where I am lying and still wait for the answer. But I see you're ridiculously stubborn. Well, it seems like I will never know. How disappointing :(

I sais check out the comment, where I pointed out where you were lying, but you are still pretending "ooooo, waiting where I was lying ;<<<<".

Sorry, maybe I'm blind, but I can't find any lies on my side. I just posted my own harmless guide in the topic 'Spirit Guides' and then I was accused of lying. I didn't even argue anything, but you say 'my lies discredit all my arguments'. Lmao, what... You have so narrow perception of word 'lie'. Such feeling that even you don't know now why you accused me of lying.

My god, do I really need to copy it for you again?

"The main idea is to track survs by their scratch marks, moans and blood.", "The thing is, the surv doesn't see you but you can hear them and see their scratch marks and blood. This is a very huge advantage about the Spirit.",

You pretend you play Spirit, and "4k everytime", but in fact you don't. If you would, you would know that she can't see blood. But you heard that she can see blood (she copuld in PTB), and you did not know it got fixed. You, instead, saw that reasonable people want her to be buffed, because she is weak, so you, and many others, started to pretending like if she is good, because "you can 4k everytime with her", which is a lie, because you don't even know how she works. And if you do not even know how she works, therefore you can't "play her".

I said I know she can't see blood (only with BH, which I also mentioned), but you replied to it with 'no misunderstanding, you're still lying'. Considering this, all your further thoughts automatically become irrelevant. But you're still saying I'm lying. Good job m8, you can continue if you want.

Are you playing on PC? I'd like to test BH, see if you're for real.

If you can see blood without the add on in phase walk for any reason, it's a bug as devs said she is not supposed to without the glasses.
  • The issue was how poor the ptb was, the clown had ptb a and ptb b testing live current clown and post change clown. People couldn't even test the live spirit or the adjusted spirit slated for release, and midchapter buffs already happening to her. I admit, not seeing blood isn't bad. They are probably taking precaution with invisible killers cause we know how they did freddy. I'd rather get buffs overtime than a survivor base killing a character.

Tldr clown had ptb a and ptb b, spirit testing never showed "live" testing, it was always behind as if they were concerned with a deadline. Great work on the chapter but execution of testing wasn't smooth, hopefully next ptb is more smooth.

People are seriously overrating Hag. Yes, she's good now, yes, she has some good map control, but at the end of the day she is still a slower killer who has to stop and start scrawling something on the ground to be effective. Even in a loop, if the Survivor sees you placing one they'll just run to the next pallet early. This will help you shorten the chase a little, sure, but above Billy? That's ridiculous. Especially on larger maps now like the new one, that quick one-place-to-another movement has utility out of the roof.
I agree Myers is really good, no one else seems to. The guy literally has a free unavoidable insta-down. Even if you play optimally, one way or another he'll eventually get it, it's an endless countdown to your demise.

Have you even seen the power of a good hag? The chases are so short and you have people crouching around, add sloppy butcher and you're going to win. She's a menace to deal with. I always 4 man with her with 4 gens left unless its on swamp then I gotta 3 gen strat. As Billy I always 4 man in 99% of my games but with 2-3 gens left. If you make pressure as Hag, she's stronger then Billy. Rank 1 killer and rank 8 survivor btw on xbox. Rank 9 survivor and killer on PC. Her base is weaker then billys tho. Also with hag u dont need to trap the whole map. I just trap half of the map off for myself. On swamp I can get half of it done too if I'm wise. And she's slow but she can teleport if u predict the survivors so it doesn't even matter that much that she's slow since you'll win the chase anyway. I play Billy more than Hag and I can't find him better. He's more fun tho

Once again survivors giving her the half map or three gen strat like the doc. If survivors work on closest three gens, hag cant stop them all, 1v4 she will lose
  • Interesting breakdown though! Will think about killers a little more now

No, hag does well because survivors let her. If it isn't shackles, mint rag, myc hag people get swept by their mistakes. People underestimate her so they get swept, always pop her traps when you can to kill map pressure and combos. But most people don't. She excels when survivors don't play smart. One set being good doesnt make her better objectively, one set makes her good with one set. I main freddy and he has a beast gimmick set, doesn't make him jump tiers. Make leather as fast as billy, doesn't make sense lore wise but is definitely better than doc. Doc is overrated as he is easily loopable. Hag isn't normally played top tier so some people aren't smart against her.

For a Killer everyone thought would make it into the top 5. She seems to be rotting away in the lower mid Killer tier. Did the Dev's really think she was going to be so ground breaking and over powered just because she could turn invisible and Pig sprint?

Slower movement speed + Not being able to see people. Stacked on with the same weaknesses all other Killer's suffer from. Seems a bit much.

She's fine with that, her white noise is just too loud and cooldown is too long since she can only use power at 100%. I think the killer needs to know when passive phasing occurs for proper mindgames.

I don't have a problem with DS because I've seen both sides of the spectrum. I don't just play Killer. I've been in good and bad games for both sides. Besides that like I said DS doesn't grant you the ability to live automatically. You have to make good on your escape. And even if it allows you to get away it doesn't mean you won't eventually fall and be sacrificed. That perk doesn't replace skill. I've been slowly learning that fact as I've tried to improve as a survivor. I've had some hard games as a killer but I won't blame it on one perk. I know that the person I am chasing will only escape me with skill. Simply hopping off of my shoulder won't be enough to get away and end the chase. But this isn't even an argument about DS at all. I just think either one thing or the other should be removed from that perk. NOED allows you to down your foe in one blow but it doesn't grant you the ability to kill and it can be countered simply by finding and cleansing the totem. This perk however allows you to down them in one hit and kill them therefore robbing them of the chance to escape unless you can remain hidden. And it's not a hex skill so you can't take out the totem. It's essentially NOED on one person without a totem and mori on that person as well. And it's not that I can't counter it. I just think it's rather cheap unlike DS which can only be used once per game and doesn't really grant automatic escape. The only way I could think of it giving you the automatic win is if you use it during the end game right by the exit gate. But by then you've already used stealth and everything else like pallets and windows to your advantage to stay alive that long. So you played smart to win anyways. I could go on and on with this argument but I think it's getting a bit to dragged out now. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and I have already shared mine. Enough said.

Rancour gives you vision on killer how is that not a reasoanble enough downside. If your on a team thats devastatingly powerful and if your solo you will always know what direction the killer is coming from when a gen is completed. I keep saying this but ds is too powerful to be an individual perk in your kit. You dont have to meet any requirements its always available. Deliverance requires a safe unhook and a first hook state to not be expeneded adrenaline requires you reach the end game. No mither lets you pick yourself off the ground at the cost of a health state. Ds has no requirements to be met besides hitting a skill check which is the problem with dbds gameplay right now. Skill checks are routine actions that all high ranking survivours can do. They are only meaningfully influenced by one killer.

Rancour cannot be broken same as ds. But
there is more input required by the killer with rancour then the survivour with ds. You have to hunt your prey read there movement make predictions and move in a way that you giving the survivour your location for a brief period wont be expected. Being denied the use of your ds due to rancours mori is the first meaningful way a killer can respond to ds besides tanking it. Which i have alreday established is a bad idea as you need hook pressure immediatly or you will lose gens fast. As i repeatedly  state its not hurting the mobile killers like billy or nurse its the weaker slower killers like pig doc and leatherface whi end up suffering the most.

My experiance with survivour has taught me that this game gives you a lot of chances to win/escape with perks like adrenaline urbanevasion and iron will all which require significantly more skill and have a reasonable risk of failure. With these perks rewarding smart calls and clever movement not meeting a basic skill check. Ds turn survivours into greater timesinks and while you will get games where a survivour uses ds and they go down immediatly its the games where survivours get that extra gens worth of looping thanks to ds that you see how overpowered this perk is.

Rancour needs to lose its vision granting effect a survivour can make use of if you want to remove the exposed effect. But the mori should stay as a means to bypass ds and make it so we finally have a hard counter for this perks that has been continously debated as the most controversial perk in the game.
D strike getting changed n devs know this while bringing out this perk. Let's just think about the combo potential. D strike is strong but getting changed in a minth, let's not beat a dead horse.
  • Passive phasing isnt bad but only the purple is worth it, good for pallet games but they need to show the killer when it takes effect.

Bad design, I play plenty survivor and whem it goes off it gets one kill normally, noed was designed to not have a prior notification as it was before it was a hex. The goal is to one shot, not to slow it down. Survivors cleanse totems anyway, some just genrush, others wait for noed and pop it asap cause they memorized where totems are. No need for noed nerf. Adding notification that an easily nullified perk should be nullified sucks, waste of a perk slot. Also it doesn't pay up. Also yes, not doing gens are good but if you do the math, it's not truly beneficial since most survivor games in high rank survivors cleanse totems anyway. Make a new objective like a switch to start gens or something, forcing the death of noed is idk, counter productive.

So you're saying it's better that survivors rush gens and you get 1 kill from NOED while the rest play immersed or just leave than it is for them to slow down significantly to do totems before gates even power. And again, the notification wouldn't tell you it's NOED, you'd have to go around and check all the totems, figure it out by process of elimination, or someone gets hit at end game and it procs. The idea is to encourage survivors to slow down gen rush, take time to at least CHECK a totem, and if they see a Hex notification they know a totem is in play and will look for it. Totems have WAY more value as secondary objectives/time sinks than they have for their actual effects. We don't need MORE objectives, just more reasons for survivors to do totems which are basically secondary objectives.

There is no significant slowdown, do you know how long it takes to cleanse a totem, about 1 minute for all totems or less actually. Also, obvious totem placements. If placements become an issue survivors will carry maps to see it. Totems need a rework, needs to be more objectives or the objectives we have need to be fixed. The game had a balance in the beginning. Not fair, fun, but balance. Instagens, moris, infintie noed, they created a balance that helped control the speed of the game. Gen times have not been adjusted properly to the rate of chase time. Most killers are punished for not tunneling, chasing one at a time.

It takes 14 seconds to clean a single totem. That adds just under a minute to a game where seconds can count. And while totem placement does indeed suck, there is always 1 totem on the map that's actually well hidden, and if you are solo you have no way to confirm others did totems unless you see them broken. The difference is that if they do a dull and see a Hex they will try to find the Hex or do all the totems. SWF and stuff won't change, if they suspect NOED they can optimize and clean 5 totems fast and know about which are done.

Bottom line is that it would add time to the game by at least forcing survivors to check totems even if you don't use a totem. If you do then it will just encourage them to waste time looking for it at least.

I understand, still no time truly added. A lot can happen in a minute, but not enough in a general game. Make totems take longer to cleanse. But if they see hex what? If it becomes a mechanic they know it's a bluff is what I'm saying. If they just see hex they know it's a buff. Hex what? If not devour hope, haunted etc people wouldn't care.

Sorry, that's wrong. My personal belief, based on the data of average chase, time it takes for gens to get done, etc. It is not enough time, plenty of times I stopped noed or had my noed stopped. Stopping to do totems cost so little time and there's 4 survivors splitting the job, that costing time is a joke unless the killer has thrill of the hunt. If they made totems much longer to cleanse sure, as it is now no. Absolutely not good at buying time. When some survivors see the last gen being worked on, one will normally go to a door and another look for totems early just in case. They cleanse totems now as noed precaution. Your suggestion will not help. Even the devs are trying to add more objectived because yes, lack of objectives for survivors is an issue. Make healing slower and increasing cleanse speed, make thrill of the hunt Permanent and not a hex, add a cool down or a way to respawn hexed. Hex:ruin is so core it is ridiculous that a killer is forced to run it and can't run 4 fun perks without getting swept against competent survivors. Not swf, not depip squad, just competent survivors. And competent survivors know to work against ruin and not everyone stopping because it'll make the game slower for no reason.
