Dude are you seriously making a post acting like its the end of the world OH NO I CANT 5BLINK NURSE ANYMORE BEHAVIOR #########!? HOW CAN WE OVERCOME SURVIVE WITH FRIENDS THATS IT IM QUITTING AND BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL MINECRAFT PLAYER!
Also stop acting like its a war between both sides if you think nurses addons are balanced you are out of your ever loving mind Omegablink and 5 blink literally have 0 counterplay stealth means nothing when she can just 360 mid blink to see all of her surroundings and plus those addons had literally no downsides.
Bro relax nurse will be fine just because they are taking away her broken addons does not mean she will be bad stop your crying and get good.
If this was true I would agree, I only play nurse with pocket watch and white knit comb but they said mainly rework add ons, which means they will touch her base, and this is scary
-
There's no sarcasm, really.
Just a bit if bitterness when I realised that survivors have found a way to direct the game to their advantage and they did so very successfully.
I recognise when I lose

I really don't know why they are even touching her base kit.
With BHVR's track record, you just know they are going to ######### this up.
Her base kit is fine for the record.
Her addons are what make her go from very strong to incredibly overpowered.
If they increase her fatigue time, decrease her charge speed, or decrease the maximum blink range on any of her secondary blinks she's going to just get steamrolled on large maps against good teams of survivors.
Like, she just won't have nearly as much map presence, and you're going to see nothing but Hillbilly and Spirit every goddamn match.
Yeah it's gg for me, I tried my best to get strong killers but I failed.
Respect for the winning side

Both sides have their bad things
I am giving survivors props not complaining, they know what to do to get their agenda served. GG

Huntress is good if the player knows what they’re doing, sadly I’m not that player. :P
you are right, although i don't think a good huntress can match a good nurse or spirit, especially in some maps.

Billy, spirit, hag, huntress and Nurse will still be viable.
For now, spirit is already targeted.
Hag isn't played thst much.
Not sure about Billy but huntress isn't thst strong

Legion needed a nerf, the nerf was just too much. Nurse is getting her base slightly nerfed and her add ons reworked. Some add ons will be better and some will be worse.

Forums have been this way since online gaming.
History for the youngins:
Some of us played a game called Ultima Online in the 90s, the game had a popular forum called Stratics, ya know what the posts consisted of? People crying about game mechanics and the good guys vs the player killers like me who would hang out on roads outside of town and kill other players when they walk by (crossroads)
I used my assassins blade with poison to attack them, the noobs ran to the forums and cried. Devs reduced the stats of the blade and created the first "nerf" we posted on the forum it was like making a knife into a nerf weapon. I was around for the very first nerf in a video game.
Hence the term was born and the beginning of the cycle used today: complain enough on forums and devs will nerf it.
History lesson from someone pvping since the 90s.
I also used to play uo :)
And I think dbd is worse because by being asymmetrical there's a clear distinction for the roles and the numbers role have more people.
In uo everyone was the same, you have your 700 points to spend in the skills that you wanted, asymmetrical is way worse :(

That's an assumption based on the amount of players who play stealthily vs the amount who play boldly and like chase. The latter has a much more significant amount.
that's because stealth has been nerfed doesn't give a lot of BP and doesn't really help emblems. That's the terrible state of the game some survivors lobbied for.
Obviously you are now left with plenty of toxic bold survivors... in a horror game lol that's why dbd is a joke

Looping is why this game is alive right now. Get rid of it and see what happens to the player base numbers.
That's an assumption based on nothing, if looping were never a part of the game we cannot predict how the game would be in terms of numbers and health.

Survivors asked constantly for changes that made it this way, ignoring all the warnings and citing the catch-all phrase 'but the alternative is BORING', or it was frustrating and would make them quit the game etc. Funny how when killers said the same thing about all the changes being made, the devs just ignored us.
Survivors though do not get to claim the status of bystanders who are disappointed with how narrow-focused the game has become: they repeatedly requested that, without realising despite it frequently being explained to them how it was the case.
Absolutely true! They lobbied for this pro survivors gameplay which everybody deep inside understand to be flawed

Stealth is useless in this game and it should be. Past 1K hours, GOOD killers will annihilate stealth survivors, and GOOD survivors will not find stealth fun. The most fun you will have in this game is playing aggressively doing chases; loops, pathing, juking, and mindgaming.
I guess you have the power to speak for all survivors and killers...

They only announced it like a month ago - they released Badham reworks which is noticeably hard to loop on and there are no infs
that's correct, still the semi infinites have been around since 1.06 at least which means September 2016, almost three years ago and they are still around. A bit slow innit?

And I never said you were defending NOED. I just said that things should be way different for both sides. Having the survivors doing something that wasn't part of the game in its early stages does not mean killers aren't doing the same.
Yes changes need to be made both ways, it is a necessary sacrifice to try and balance the game

You know, if we are to talk about how things were originally deisgned, then there is much going on for killers too. First and foremost, there wouldn't be so many aura reading perks around and stuff that, in general, plays the game INSTEAD of the killer (e.g. BBQ & Chilli). BBQ finds survivors for you, NOED allows you to down survivors in one hit while moving faster, because you could not do it for the whole duration of the match. Also NOED was not designed this way, when the game first came out. It only allowed you to instadown survivors while at least one exit gate was ALREADY OPEN, and only if you had it at Tier III.
Allowing people to only ever instadown survivors while playing as Billy, Myers or LF, without ever even trying to base hit, is one of the biggest design flaws this game has. I would like to see more stealth allowed here. As much as pallet looping should not be the only way possible to survive, other options should also be a thing. A game needs to cater to every type of non-toxic player (camping players, here or on games like CoD, are toxic), to be seen as a good way to pass your time.
Then again, I wouldn't be against a way to reduce looping a little, IF something gets done to weaken killers in chases, too. You know, less looping should mean the complete removal of Bloodlust, for instance. Right now, killers can rely on that to catch survivors. Since chases go on for ages, because killers keep tunneling the same survivor until they get him, some are seen avoid destryoing pallets to get Bloodlust. In the end, they almost always get to survivors. Survivor traps could also be added, like something that you place on a door/window of your choice, which stuns the killer when he passes through it (I am talking about single use items, for example). Then, finally, if looping gets reduced, stealth should be much more of a thing. There is not even a point for the Doctor's existance right now, since stealth is so awfully done.
I don't think you can find any trace of me defending noed or too many tracking perks.
Bbq is essential for BP so I would play even if nerfed, with maps redisegnied and looping much out of the picture, no one would need bloodlust.
Nurse will be nerfed as well

Making assumptions about someone with no basis is very easy. I can do the same but it is not gonna make me look smart nor make my argument stronger.
Believe it or not, not everyone that disagree with you is a "biased survivor main". There are some people that genuinely care about the general health of the game because they love it and enjoy it. If you took the time to read my comments record, you would see that I admit that there are balance issues on both sides.
The fact that you want the only skillful interaction between killers and survivors to be removed is staggering. But again, you don't consider this interaction skillful. There is nothing I can say to make you see something that obvious.
I am out of here, have a nice day.
The issue with the looping situation is not skill, it is balance of the game.
There are areas of many maps, maybe except new badham and shelter Woods.
Where a survivor (1/4 of a team) has advantages over the ENTIRETY of the other team the killer.
This is so strong that sometimes the killer needs to break chase and follow someone else who is in a less of a safe spot.
This is obviously wrong, and a big waste of time for the killer, once again the full opposing team.
1/4 of a team sometimes beating the whole other team, with similar skill levels.
This would be patched at the speed of sound in every video game that isn't asymmetrical.
I have started online gaming in 2002 with ultima online and every time someone was to find a spot that gave pvp advantage it was patched within a month. And the same things happens in most video games.
Where it doesn't happen is in an asymmetrical game, where there are way more people playing a role than the other role. And they are mostly unbalanced, just see how much of a joke is killing Jason in f13.
When one group is larger it can lobby for what they want, in this case looping which essentially killed all the other ways to play the game, even having an impact on the scoring system.
It is a problem and a big one, now if this was just a 1 vs 1 chase simulation then you would be right but it's not, it is a game where a team needs to escape from a deadly maniac.
How much of a problem looping is can be seen when playing nurse, once you remove looping survivors drop like flies.
The game needs to evolve so senseless stuff like looping for minutes or nurse can be nerfed and the whole game optinised
-
yes please, I need to get GF perks on all my killers

Dude...are you seriously advocating for less skill expression to be among Surviviors? Big. Fat. Lmao.
Looping is pretty much the only reliable way Surviviors have to live against the killer. And looping the killer for every pallet in the game does absolutely jack ######### if you don't have a team that's doing the objective. This game should not be what it appears ur advocating for, which is "killer finds Survivior. Survivior should have no chance after that". You act like one of those killer mains who think that the only role for Surviviors is to find their favorite hook and wait for the killer to come by to see if they deserve that one or not.
there is no skill in using a much superior fov and smaller hitboxes, I am an average looper and I can waste plenty of killer's time in a wide variety of maps.
It is bad map design, NOT skill LOL

If we could have mindgames in a different form, I'd be more than interested to learn about it.
That's actually a nice idea, I also think there should be a ranked game mode where killers and survivors challenge themselves to a chase without the pressure of gens.
Just like who survives the longest wins pips and extra BP

Do you know why the legion before his rework, was the worst thing that ever happened to this game (check the steam reviews yourself)? Do you also know why the nurse is the most heated discussion topic in this forum?
This is because these two killers take all the hours that you have invested in this game and throw them in the garbage.
Looping is what makes the difference between someone who just bought the game and someone who has thousands of hours. It is what gives this game a third dimension. Being outplayed and outplaying your opponent is what keeps people playing; it is the fun part in this game. I am pretty sure the devs realize this already.
Removing looping or nerfing it to the point where it is no longer a reliable option would push a lot of people away from the game (including me).
This is because you are a biased survivor main, looping allows you to verse the entirety of your opposing team on your own.
That's a problem with the balance of the game, you are not the hero of the story, you are not supposed to verse the killer and win, at similar skill levels.
You are supposed to be given the chance to escape by using your number advantage.
And if a lot of loopy loppers would leave, there may be more prole coming because the game is a horror game not a joke like it is now.
All of your lobbying brought dbd to be in this situation where basically every killer is designed to try and counter the parasitic entity known as looping

Actually, I just played a game 10 minutes ago, and as seen in this clip from that game, stealth works pretty well for the most part.
Also, you shouldn't try to stealth while in a chase, it's a death sentence because the killer can use context clues from your blood and scratch marks to find you. The best you can do is stall for as long as possible, so you can buy your team objective time.
GG :)

My opinion is biased?
Survival rate = 43% @ Rank 1
Killers pushing for additional objectives ✔
Killers pushing to remove "looping" ✔
Killers pushing for less pallets ✔
Killers being buffed every patch ✔
Killers pushing for gens to be longer ✔
I see you want the survival rate at 10%
Do you realise how narrow is the field of view of a killer and how large are their hitboxes right?
With shadowborn as base and a reduced hitbox and removal of semi infinites looping wouldn't be a thing and survivors would need to escape like it was designed.
When in a 4vs1 game a 1/4 of a team can verse the single adversary team, it is clear that we have a problem
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/596099#Comment_596099
Lets hypothesise.
This new anti looping update that's coming, it's to encourage stealth and it removes 80% of loops in the game, however it requires you to run Dance With Me + Lithe because they help stealth, without it you're ######### out of luck and have nothing to do other than go down and sit on a hook until you're saved, SOUNDS AWESOME.
Additionally, with all these object removed, and this push for stealth, what do survivors actually hide behind, you know because all the loops are gone?
Lol you know your argument is partisan right?
Looping is used in this context as a short for pallet looping and looping semi infinites.
Nobody cares if you loop a gen because its not a guaranteed safe spot like now.
Maybe you shoukd go back and see the start of dbd before looping was discovered. It was never an intended mechanic but survivors lobbied for it and now here we are.
Do you not see how desperate the dev team is to reduce looping without upsetting survivors?
-
@Seanzu said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/596075#Comment_596075
The point is to never be in a chase? IF a killer camps and you never enter a chase you depip, but sure chases aren't important at all.
This is because people like you lobbied fir looping, the essence is escaping and avoiding chases should be a viable tactic.
And yes with looping gone tracking perks will need to be nerfed
-
For reference this is DBD with a funny music, it doesn't look that good does it?
-
@Seanzu said:

Can you actually think for a second.
How does a pallet work without anything around it? It needs to operate like it does right now, should we just have freestanding pallets? lmao.
Survivors already die most of the time, people are already pushing for more objectives, the survival rate at rank one is like 43% or some ######### and you want even more, ridiculous.
Stop lobbying for a mechanic that ruins the game.
You reduce looping by putting doors in all the major buildings which are a real cause of concern, like ironworks of misery as an example.
Pallets are either unsafe (90%) , like the new badham or super safe (10%) like the ones close to the basement in the game or the shack pallet.
The purpose of a chase becomes to escape, to make it a stressful and dangerous situation, not the Benny Hill show like it is right now
-
No, use what you find the best to fit your style.
Bl is indeed powerful in many maps but useless in others, like shelter Woods.
Lithe is a safer option since you can use it on pallets and windows BUT it's risky because you can get hit through a window.
Sb is good to reach a safe spot when out of position, but forces you to walk in some parts of the match so it does require a specific build.
Dh is good in chases but you need to learn when and how to use it, plus it's kinda useless if you have bad ping
Try and see what works for you
-
Agreed looping must go, survivors need to be able to break line of sight and escape the killer.
Running in circles is simply stupid for this type of game
-
Yes please
-
Pc players bullying console players?
No thanks
-
I agree but the reworks need to happen faster.
At least put a damn door in every semi infinite structure, it's ridiculous
-
This what they did to legion, it worked once they are doing it again until every killer is wraith level and can be looped, taunted and destroyed.
Survivors are like that, they should have never LISTENED with legion, now there's a precedent

I don't remember the name but I have a screenshot lost somewhere in my gallery where there was like 100 more survivors
I agree I never believed even for a single moment the lie about "too many killers".
Problems around the matchmaking started a week before the last blood hunt and never improved.
I am sure they simply shadow implemented the matchmaking system which was tried, and rejected by the community, in March.
They won't say it but it's beyond the shadow of doubt for me that this what happened

Of course F13 can be an example because it is the same genre of game lol. My only point is that DBD is different than 1 vs (whatever number) of games simply because survivors can't work together to directly kill the killer. They have to win passively by escaping. Heath states should be balanced accordingly.
No that's incorrect, on f13 given the same skill level 3 counsellors have an almost certain victory if they decide to kill Jason.
And Jason cannot do much about it, you can kill Jaron 70% of the times with a good team of just three people, so f13 is stupidly unbalanced
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/588026#Comment_588026
That's not true at all because a chase is a 1vs1 situation. You said earlier that "free" health states aren't fair in a 4 vs 1, but chases are never 4 vs 1. This is different for games where the power role, the 1, CAN be killed by the 4. For example, survivors in Friday the 13th can KILL Jason. So it would be unbalanced if they could also get instant health states. But they can't, Jason can interrupt during heal animations.
In DBD survivors need instant health states to counter killer advantages such as insta downs, exposed status effects, moris etc.
F13 cannot be used as an example since jason is trash in thst game, and I can speak from experience since I was one of the most successful Jason hunters in the eu server. ( all documented on my channel with more than 100 Jason kills uploaded and more than 500 total)
You are using the wrong game in comparison, f13 is fun for counsellors and bad fir jadon

Wait, so you're fine with killers being able to ignore health states, but survivors can't counter this? That's so unbalanced for a 4vs1 game where the survivors can't eliminate the killer. All they can do is run. They don't even have a timer they can wait out to win like in F13.
How do you not understand? Run = taking the killer's time WHILE the other team mates are doing the objective to leave. Which is equivalent to damaging the killer
If survivors are competent they destroy the majority of killers (again given the same skill level) with the exception of the killers who can end a chase quick.
MoM is dead, it can be better once protection hits are fixed but you will never see a free health state, until a new licensed DLC is released
