Welli have 4.5k hours on the the game and other 2/3rds r on killer, so no you cant use the "you dont play killer" excuse. And no i dont just main nurse or something like that.

Maps are way less surviovr sided than they used to be is that not true? RPD is a crappy and boring map or all sides not just killer. And this new map is quite balanced if not a lil killer sided because its extremely easy to spot survviros and theres alot of dead zones.

New killers are oppressive in chase whether you like it or not. If you know how to play any of these new killers to a somewhat decent extent you know that survviors can only last a certain amoutn of time inchase b4 they inevitably die and theres nothign you cna do about it, unless you hold w, which is another problme with the game.

No it's more the fact you decided to use the usual argument of "they just want 4ks is why" I said that

Rpd is not killer sided cause unless you slug or use pyramid head those dead zones are a major issue especially now that's to boil over

Also like I said since it seems you didn't even mention it they have to be a certain way (anti loop, rush down etc) because the devs ######### up on balancing so bad that m1 killers and stealth killers cannot be made anymore due to being worthless right out the gate.

  • Given the most recent updates yes they do.

  • Challeng for devs play each killer for 10 matches at high mmr.

What your doing is called nitpicking. I couldd do exactly the same thing ur doing for the killer side.

Why can killers now ressurect totem perks?

Why do maps have so many unsafe loops now?

Why are all of the new killers incredibly opressive in chase and easy for killers to play?

Also woudl you rlly rather play in 2016 than 2022 as a killer? Clearly you weren't around then and are used to the benefits which killers have these days. Killers played back in 2016 and you know what it was so much more difficult back then but they PERSISTED. They didnt complain about everysingle thing and they didnt blame every single loss on somethign out of their control. They got on with the job. So many killers these days have either such big egos or are entitled as hell to getting 4ks everygame.

And what you brought up was not because of killers or just flat out wrong

Maps are due to devs which is survivor sided on some.

Killers can resurrect totems cause they made boons.

New killers are oppressive cause survivors dont know what oppressive is and the devs cant make an m1 killer that isn't screwed day one.

Also first the date doesn't matter its the same ######### and that last little bit also showed you are one sided and have never really played killer.

It's too much on top of everything else, and players with decency and some common sense will notice that this is a teeny tiny bit over tuned. The wriggle effect alone would warrant the usage perk, but the +25% bonus for taking two steps at once at a staircase makes it a broken perk.

Its so overturned that the common practice is to slug anyone who wields it, sorta defeating its purpose. Instead of diversifying the stale survivor meta by elevating a mediocre perk to usability, its indeed so strong in its niche, that you will 95% not be able to play out its strengths because you get preemptively slugged, so it will get shelved again, after a few tests runs, and everyone is back to DH, DS, IW, BT, Unbreakable, CoH or maybe another exhaustion perk for variety.

    Unless you have rpd offerings.

    Sure.

    Here's my best example.

In what's probably creeping up past 450 hours as a killer player, I've had literally 2 survivors give me a pity kill on a blowout game.

    2.

If I don't give the last survivor the hatch or gate on a blowout game where I 3k at 5 gens, I'm the biggest jerk in the world and literally the sort of person that bullies people IRL.

The reason for the mindset comes down predominantly to the way survivors treat killer players in comparison to how they expect to be treated by killer players.

That's just people being ######### because behaviour sucks at managing that.

  • @fulltonon said:

I don't think anything meaningful in this kind of mentality, I think anyone yelling "survivor main" "killer main" at someone else should be insta-banned.

Why? If someone is entitled and decided to treat someone like ######### why shouldn't they get called out for their ######### behaviour?

  • @fulltonon said:

No, survivors are also getting mad at it.

From what? They got a new toy but it can't just cripple the killer's knees?

  • Pick someone else pig is the worst stealth killer atm.

This is why everyone should play both sides. Then you can see all game problems. I never take serious who is playing only one side, their opinion is worthless to me because they can not be objective.

How about from the people who did and say its survivor sided.?

  • @Shaped said:

No, there should be a different game mode for swf, but there is no ways your average solo game are easier then average killer game.

Problem is since swf is a problem with this game no one will want to play against them.

  • @El_Gingero said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/303984/im-so-happy-people-are-finally-realizing-this-game-is-so-killer-sided

Yes. Otz doing well in solo queue with no perks + 30 seconds afk is proof the game is killer sided.

We will ignore the fact that he plays the game full-time for a living and has done for several years, just as we will ignore his history of setting and achieving against-the-odds challenges. He is clearly representative of the typical killer and as such, we should finally accept that DBD is indeed killer sided.

TDLR: Full-time career player with particularly good skills and a history of setting and achieving against the odds challenges vs randoms on solo queue = killers are OP and survivors are weak.

Add this to it to since killer is only measured by high mmr and survivor isn't doesn't that mean bully squads at lower mmr should be factored in?

yea let's all 3 be at the same door while I am on my hook 50 meters away and once it opens they all stick at the exit for no reason adn then the killer show up and they leave, now they aren't smart, they are cowards.

I wasn't meaning that specific one i was thinking more first hook or such.

That is usually more they want to tbag and clickspam the killer so they can get their sawed off ego stoked like absolute thin-skinned losers.

It was someone else who said that so I edited what I said so if you thought I ment you I didnt.

  • I do when someone says killers are more entitled yes some are but if they are entitled then survivors are silverspooned spoiled toxic brats given the ######### I have seen and read for what they complain about and what they do for.

  • Honestly due to how much of a hacker haven pc is now I'd say of your console player disable crossplay.

I hate dying at first hook because they are cowards uhgggg, that's what I mostly get

Maybe they are smart and thinking being altruistic will get them killed.

  • @cutiekiller said:

The more and more I play solo survivor the more and more I notice that console players have less balls then pc players, at the end game they will 90% of the time all stick to the exit gate even if the killer isn't camping and once they arrive they simply leave or run at the exit instead of splitting up and trying to attempt a save, the only time I see console survivors doing anything good is when I am killer, every single time console players I play with are true cowards, should I disable crossplay when I play survivor?

Umm I don't think that's just console however I've seen pc players cradle the end gate like it's home base.

  • @ThanksForDaily said:

They don't care and I don't blame them. It's their game and do whatever they want.

  • @Pannat1 said:

This game is 100% survivor sided in HIGH LEVEL.

In your average game where you always met solo player it will always killer sided

In swf high mmr it's survivor sided.

  • @Mringasa said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2778245#Comment_2778245

I can agree with a lot of this, but one of the things that makes the current balance patch so horrendous is the ability for voice comms to allow instant coordination between Survivors. WIthout that, the Boil Over buff and lack of a meaningful CoH nerf wouldn't be as bad. It would just need tuned a bit more. The problem being, you can't balance it. I play Solo Queue, and the game is a bit Killer sided for the most part from that perspective. If I could talk with my team mates, it would definitely become Survivor sided though.

The whole Us vs Them thing is something I never did understand. I play games for fun though, I'm not competitive other than wanting that rush when I get a down, hook, save, whatever. Little bit of adrenaline, little bit of feelsgoodman. Both sides are guilty of it though, and it is kind of ridiculous in a sense. There's no tangible reward other than knowing you won. Winning though is personal, and it's different from player to player.

Everyone is going to play different, have different rules for themselves, and have different win conditions. Learning to actually respect that instead of venting frustrations and rage over something that is better off being discussed with a cool head is something a lot of people need to do.

Well first off comms need to start being a bannable offense only due to the technically that it is an exploit.

Secondly think about this though it's not just competitive however if you play a pvp game wouldn't you want it to be balanced between both sides along with that remember thanks to the bloodweb and for some reason the devs fetish on rng people have to grind out a good span of hours to get anything meaning you potentially go into long ruts because the game has both casual and competitive players mashed together so poorly it wears people thin

  • @Sepex said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2778264#Comment_2778264

This is just based on my own experience as Killer. Since the perk buff I've never had any issue going up against players using this perk.

If others don't like it for whatever reason this = 100% fine. So please lose the attitude.

Well it's not hard to see why though also along the new wiggle mechanic giving a shadow buff it's hard not to think there would be issues.

  • Boiling it down it's because the game has a few major issues .

Thanks to mmr people who want to be competitive are mixed with casual.

The balance makes it where no matter what killers have to become more and more aggressive just to get something done

Thanks to the survivor meta being stale everyone now thinks they are using the same perks which ironically were made to curb camping tunneling and slugging but Thanks to how survivors abuse them they encourage it more.

  • @Sepex said:

I'm not sure what the hustle and bustle is about it either.

Guess you don't play the game much then.

  • Yes cause some maps make it to where the hooks are not usable any more rpd is the worst offender but any multi story map or any maps with ledges now have the potential of making hooks useless and along with the hook spacing offering it turns into a scenario where all you can do is slug.

  • @Mringasa said:

The game itself is much better balanced than it was back in 2017. At its base at least. Some Perks are OP, some are utter trash, and some are more for meme or "I need to try something different" style of builds. Overall though, with a couple exceptions, they've done a decent job of tuning Perks and keeping the game healthy.

The only glaring issue I see right now is voice comms. BHVR should implement an in-game voice chat, tied to distance between Survivors, so that everyone enjoys the same benefits that voice comms currently give. THEN they can properly balance the game. Until that happens, it is completely pointless to attempt to balance the game.

This whole Survivor vs Killer bias garbage is just beating your head against the wall. Pointless rage and frustration that only makes the community more toxic as a whole. Take a step back, relax for a minute or two, then play some more. Or else, find something else to play. I find 2-3 months of playing DbD about as much as I can take, and then I'll play other things for a while. Much, much healthier than raging out about something that cannot change until portions of the base game are adjusted.

First off for while yes it can be seen as that but as of now there's no excuse for making it survivor sided as they did if it was balanced and tuned you wouldn't have constant matches boiled down to "meta perks VS blight" or "meta perks VS nurse " u and also there wouldn't be as many perks that can be used to bully killers due to making them way to forgiving for survivors ######### up along with the qol changes they made only buffing survivors more.

As for the US vs them mentality guess what it's never going away thanks to the devs making a game where it is "all play the same vs all play differently" so unlike if a fighting game tweaked a character or if a team game tweaked something its not everyone gets hit only one side does and the other reaps the benefits no matter what anyone says.

All killers averaged up have a 70% kill rate accord to last statistics released by devs.

Maybe its time you looked at where the game has come from since 2016 and realised "oh wait, the game is nowehre near survivor sided like it used to be."

Things change, whetehr you want to believe it or not. This is not the 5000 pallets infinties sabo instaheal dbd that used to exist. Its more liek the 5000 slowdown killer perks plus stupid boon totems dbd now

All together cause if you checked each killer averaged around 50 to 60% unless it's nurse which is under 50%. Also yes it is survivor sided cause while certain things were removed others replaced them and if it Turely not as survivor sided let me ask you these then.

"What reason is there to make boons a better version of hexes?"

"Why did they have to nerf and gut certain killers while the survivor perk nerfs were minuscule or not even a nerf in the first place?"

"Why buff boil over without nerfing or at least tweaking survivor perks so we don't have more bully squad tools?"

"Why is there potentially going to be more nerfs to killers kit such as base kit bt or making camping another useless tactic much like hit and run thanks to boons yet give no real mention of making DH not a 'safety net' or making it so you can't bully/harass the killer much like how survivors want camping tunneling and slugging gone?"

"Why did the new wiggle mechanic give the survivors a small % boost when it was meant for accessibility?"

"Why has nothing been done for killers to compensate for that fact that now hooks have the potential to be useless given what has been shown with rpd?"

Like I said it is still survivor sided they just replaced the issues instead of removing them

  • @Sepex said:

Killers have tons of fun when they're winning and 4K every single match from low to mid mmr.

But boy oh boy the second you play against semi competent players and survivors that know how to defend themselves the game is just sooooo unplayable for killers.

Im sure you've spent tones of money on some things in your life that you eventually let go, why is DbD any different? Also if you want your voice heard, basically ranting, saying something is bad without actually saying why it is doesn't help any one in the slightest. You leave very little room for discussion and give even less feedback.

Also why am I defending this game? Because I genuinely enjoy it. Are there issues? Absolutely, and some need to be addressed much faster than the current rate its being handled. That being said the idea behind the game and the concept is what I love, and its exactly why I picked up the game back in 2017.

Just ranting? Tell me did you happen to read an earlier much longer post where I did explain why I have issues with this? Also my comments about saying this game is dying is not a "I want to see this game dead" its more "I've seen this before" even with other games that were released at the same time as this like f13 suffered the same fate and I honestly believe that due to the what the devs want to do with game and how they are spearheading it the time is getting more and more limited because what this game is offering now is becoming more and more like what their competitors did.

-focuaing on cosmetics rather than fixes

-deterring and turning off players from their game do to bad to horrible decisions.

    -lopsided balances

So that I why I asked why "why bother staying" because other than a concept that has turned rotten due to the devs choices what's left and remember thanks to how the game is now more and more negatives are outweighing the positives now.

While no one is forced to play dbd. It makes ya feel bad when you've invested so much time and energy into the game and the devs aren't being competent.

But you are correct. I'm taking a break until the Ringu killer comes out and will be assessing if I want to continue the game front there.

Nice sentiment but with how they turned most licensed characters a joke I would keep my expectations low.

I mean if you want DbD to die that badly, you could like, yknow. Stop playing it? Or just stop keeping up with news on it? It simulates your weird fantasy to quite great effect. Civ 6 is an actual good game if you're not enjoying this either if you need another place to be pointed towards :). There is literally nothing stopping you from playing the game, if you really think its that bad. Don't. Play. It. Simple as that

Yeah I could however I spent money to get the dlc and some cosmetic I should be able to as a customer voice what I need to. And unlike someone trying to pull a Patrick by defending, sucking up and making excuses I have the right to say what I damn well please when the game is ######### and I see people asking the obvious when it is obvious.

And you are wrong about one thing I don't want it to die but I am not going to sit here and act like everything is ok when it's clearly not.

So I will leave this question for you as well "why are you defending this game and why should anyone care about this game enough to stay for long periods of time?"

  • Oh no you had to face a nurse soooorry but the devs some to not care about killer variety so I guess survivors will have to get used to going up against nurse and blight from no on.

  • @ThiccBudhha said:

Im curious to see what new basekit abilities killers should have. I see a lot of people saying Kindred should be basekit, and the devs are gonna make BT basekit. What should be basekit on killer?

Probably nothing so survivors can keep spending money on ######### given how that last QnA offered.

Releasing the game for free? That was on EGS, those players wont be tracked on steam charts, same goes for console players.

Winter events never really had an increase in players because literally every game out there has one

Elden Ring isn't even close to DbD's genre, but a lot of DbD content creators do play it. Its not like these content creators will quit DbD for it since they've built a community who enjoys that content, they wont just ditch that. They may drop it for a bit but eventually pick it back up.

Evil Dead will most likely have a controversial release since the people behind it are also behind the NFT's that sparked huge controversy a few months back

VHS has so many issues and the hype around it has already died down significantly, unless they can score a big license or some how fix literally all the issues before live I don't see it sticking around for much longer.

Im sorry to say, but DbD ain't dying any time soon.

    Yeah yeah keep defending it.

Even if the egs is a different service there's a good chunk of people leaving dbd because of the glaring issues so tell me what will this game add to keep people invested that aren't already playing and as a follow up why should they care?

And saying VHS has bugs and the hype is down is ironic because it's the exact same thing as dbd except there it's more balanced and hasn't devolved into a survivor main circle jerks with horror window dressing.

Saying evil dead is bad because of nft is one thing but sure as ######### didn't stop people from buying pinhead and ignoring that little snippet when it was brought up so what does it change.

Even if Elden ring is different gameplay wise much in line with what cote said about playing a different game I got a follow up "why go back?" The devs don't give a ######### so why should the customers they have shown time and time again to favor one side and make excuses to rationalize it so when they have people playing a different game why should they bother returning to a game that is busted to the core and no one wants to fix it.

Also an event is an event whether it's Christmas or not it gives people a reason to play which right now has overstayed its welcome, tell me with the new saw tome and a new event happening at the same time how many players were added to this game keep in mind this update and the most recent QnA were also dumpsterfires which leads to something I put in before. Also remember even if the concept is unique they have had change after chance to fix it and now are showing they just can't be bothered anymore.

I said rework, not remove. A gimmick is cool, every killer has one in their own way but when it relies on luck then its not a good experience for both sides. The pig has a casino type playstyle where if in an equal skill match, luck will determine the winner.

That's not the pigs fault that's because BHVR has a fetish for rng that I'm surprised we haven't had people make comparisons to this company and EA.

  • @Lancifer said:

Note: I'm writing this and then going to bed. I will respond tomorrow :)

Note2: We all know that the devs need to listen to their community. We don't need to beat a dead horse.

Ok so, Scott said it perfectly.

"If you buff I'm all ears and out it on clown; is that OP? No! Of course not because it's clown. However, put buffed I'm all ears on nurse and is that a bit unfair? Well yeah it is.

This is the case with many killer perks. The strongest killers will be too oppressive.

Now if you buff survivors to compensate, that's an issue because survivors are too strong. There lies the issue. They won't do the heavy nerfing that they need to do for survivors, and so their only option is to buff killers; and they won't give any sizable buff to them.

If you need survivors there ARE certain aspects that you need to tone down for killer depending on how much you're nerfing survivors. However, I think that big nerfs to survivors would allow for better game balancing, and thus more killers; and mega thus, better queue times. Bad queue times are one of survivors main complaints.

    Let me know your thoughts!

There's a simple solution, buff the base kits. Instead of thinking perks are the go to thing to fix why not buff the base kits that way its that killer and that killer alone that reap the benefits And adds more variety. Or you can keep nerfing killers make excuses as to why keep only two as viable and suck up to survivor mains cause that is sure as ######### being put on display easily now.

Right now with this update it has gotten all but clear that this game is only being defended by horror buffs with no other option, die hard defenders of this game and hopeless optimist who have given this game way too many chances to fix the issues only to have it spat back at them (unless they are survivor mains for obvious reasons.)

  • @Shroompy said:

I mean the game has just simply gone back to its normal player count

People keep saying that with the arrival of Boons the game has gone down hill... and that players are leaving. While I don't doubt some are leaving because of Boons its not the reason why it looks like the game is taking a huge hit

Just look at the charts from May 2021 to September 2021, what happened during those months?

May 2021 - Resident Evil PTB

June 2021 - Resident Evil Release

    July 2021 - 5th Anniversary Event

    August 2021 - Hellraiser PTB

    September 2021 - Hellraiser Release

2 major licenses back to back, thats obviously going to attract A LOT of new and older players that are fans of the series. And not all of them are gonna stick with the game. If you look at the months prior the game has about the same player count it has now

The game ain't dying and I don't see it dying any time soon

Yeah except even with releasing the game for free and the christmas event along with the new tome it decreased its not pulling people its a quick increase to dress up the numbers for license holders and others to keep funding and working with these people.

And remember this is something they keep doing is it no wonder that they advertised another licensed killer around the same time Boons were live and people were using them along with releasing the saw tome the same time this pile of ######### update released eventually when other games like Elden ring, Evil dead , VHS and so on come out they can't keep doing this cause only die hard defenders will stay and the rest will know the reputation it has by now and never touch this game.

  • @SunsetSherbet said:

People are saying jobs/school is causing it, but, then...shouldn't every game be down? If it's because of the time of year, every game should have a similar decline in players, right? But...I can find lots of games that haven't lost players or that have gained players in that time. So jobs/school doesn't seem the issue. CS GO and DOTA 2 have had gains since August. Some games did lose a lot of people right around August but have since gained almost all of that back, or more so. DBD has not. It's not a school/work thing.

It's just people defending the decreases instead of admitting there's an issue much like how the devs did on the QnA. They tried to say it fluctuate over the day but is that a good answer to not give an average ratio or was that to much for the statistics to do?

No ######### this post is but it isn't just my opinion as well given how other have reacted to things recently.

  • You can't be serious. Well I guess sleet ready for a long response

You basically just answered your own question for as much as you don't want people to say it is simple as buffing killers and nerfing survivors because right now there are obvious reasons for people quitting.

-no one wants to play killer cause the side is so gimped that you only have two real options now play scummy (which is also dying) or play nurse or blight which lead to people leaving do to variety being dead now

-survivor perks are way too forgiving. Right now boons and the usual meta has gotten to a point where you could call survivor baby mode.

    - the whole cheater/hacker issue. Comms stretch res, hostage issues with hackers, etc, all of this needs to go and until it does no one would want to play pc under the fear of potentially getting their pc ######### up or worse getting dosed.

-the one mode. It's one mode what more do I have to say it gets boring easily.

    - the grind. First off ######### the bloodweb. And secondly, since this game has a massive rng issue having to force people to spend hours upon hours just to get perks for a worthwhile build shows a massive part of the game is a run and feels more like a job in order to get to the fun part of the game.

-the mmr. It needs to die it is one of the worst matchmaking systems ever because much like the devs over reliance on statistics it only works if all of the variables are shows which it's not and since it favors speed having a lopsided ratio leads to people with 1000+ hours in the game being matched up with newbie survivor and more often newbie or I'll prepared killers.

-the meta. Right now it's a boring mess and idk if weeds legal where BHVR is but here is the basic run down of what is has been for a long time. Use meta perks such as DH,DS,COH,UB and now boil over for survivor use bbq, corrupt, pop, noed (which can change depending on killer but this is a universal meta build), nerf killers with maybe one buff every so often and buff survivors along with nerfs that do little to nothing to change the meta, sell licenses and cosmetics to try and keep the player base up to so current and future license holder and investors keep backing this game rinse and repeat at nauseum this and last week especially showed an excessive amount of cosmetic shoehorning to try and butter people up.

-the overall balance for as much as some on the forums try to say it's balanced and such it's cherry picked the main contentions are otzstarva's challenge and scottjunds tournament videos which both show glaring holes. For otz's case his results that he showed are incomplete since it doesn't show what maps, perk builds and items builds, and things such as dc's and has been shown more a result that if survivors want to try and win they have to camp and tunnel and be scummy which again leads to more nerfs because of for lack of a better phrase "entitled survivor bitching" and for Scott's case he never goes much into the maps and which killers were used the most he said was lower tiered killers like artist were used to which atm is not saying much because where does artist lie A,B,C ,F now if legion or an f tired killer won maybe you have something. But the other problem is one that shows another issue I said before "The tournament allowed everyone to bring in everything" how many players actually has everything? So unless you have done the grind, did a bloodweb hack or played exclusively in customs with everything unlocked this does not hold water.

-overall mentality. This community is the worst when it comes to this (try and try as people must to say overwatch lol and others are worse the fact that this has a lower player base and even the devs sharing this kind of mentality being able to be on par with those examples shows its the worst) and instead of someone putting their foot down and saying enough is enough they double down whether it's because of ego or having thin skin it doesn't matter it turns off people and makes them go to the other pvp options instead.

I know there's more but right now I can't really get into it cause of either repetition to a point or idk that was a part of it but this is a good overall understanding on what is going on.

Absolutely my friend. I would love for a balanced game. One that takes into account everything. It would be nice to be able to learn from losses without feeling like you were screwed over by the game.

I also feel that this game will never favor the killer. Sole reason being, money. In any business you cater to your majority. The majority is survivors. They buy the cosmetics, they bring their friends to play who buy in turn. If the game is easier for them but not overly easy they will stay and play.

If they feel they can't win as much they won't stick around and bring their friends. BHVR won't make as much money. It sucks but it's standard business.

I hope things get better for you. For me I just honestly don't care about a win or a loss. I know the game favors one side and I just accept it.

    Good luck my friend!

"Just accept it and move on?" Sure try telling that to people who spent 100+ on getting the dlc to try the killer's out and found only 2 are worth anything and one was free and I guess the devs never thought killers could bring in people to but why do that when you appease the one side over and over until your cash cow dies.
