  • Devs should buff other survivor perks to be more than just a part of a meme build. Otherwise survivors are just going to use the same perks.

Also how would you nerf dead hard without killing it?

It’s too strong to last the whole match. Just imagine if Spirit got changed to have directional audio, Iron Will users will have no counterplay.

There is counterplay, blood and scratch marks, just because you choose to not use them doesn’t mean there isn’t counterplay.

    Iron will is fine.

  • The only time I find DS useful is in endgame. It can pretty much guarantee an escape.

Otherwise it’s just meh, if killers are going to tunnel DS isn’t going to stop them, especially high mobility killers.

  • Zombies are already annoying playing as survivor though.

There has been times where zombies have pushed me off gens & forcing me to kite the zombie away from it.

Or the zombies happen to be around the corner in a loop.

Or an indoor map where they literally block hallways.

And of course the only way to kill them is to waste pallets, a limited resource.

The only thing that needs to be fixed is the AI getting stuck and perhaps improving the pathing on larger maps so they don’t uselessly hang around dead zones.

  • Issue is where will the skill ceiling for killer or survivor end?

For reference Nurse has a very high skill ceiling, however that just results in almost guaranteed 4k’s every match in the hands of an experienced player, is that balanced?

  • @Lumionesty said:

Better solution would be to simply make maps smaller in my opinion. Smaller maps generally just improve the gameplay of the match as they not only make it impossible for average slow killers to traverse the map in good time but also help against survivors just holding W and pre dropping pallets.

Im sorry are survivors not allowed to survive anymore? Stop with that rubbish propaganda of “holding W and pre-dropping pallets”. That’s been in the game for years yet now it’s a problem? Lol.

  • I find a lot of killers tend to rush back to the hook or worse, camp which really devalues the perk (not to mention other survivors going for the save) sure the 90s 100% healing speed is nice but then it’s just situational and you’ll be running around wasting time looking for people to heal.

    Sure, let's discuss these killers:

Nurse/Blight/Spirit - Read my OP, those are the ones that can compete against this.

Wraith - Tru3 vs oracle proved wraith can't hang.

Hag - She is still a 110 and requires setup, she can sometimes get a good 3 gen going but that's about it.

Hillbilly - He still has to m1 around loops. I'll give you that he does counter this strategy a little bit since he can break pallets fast, but he still is effectively m1 around loops, so he does require some slightly more amount of brain cells to play against.

Freddy - Is an m1 killer when you aren't asleep, and the counter to his power is, you guessed it, hold m1 and immediately drop pallets. It's difficult to win chases against him due to snares and he probably needs a redesign to fix this problem.

Oni - Is literally an m1 killer, his counter is to play exactly like this, if you play like this and never get hit, he never gets his power.

Legion - Legion's "mobility" is so good, that if you hold w when you hear the terror radius, they still can't catch up to you even with their power. Legion ms in frenzy is 5.0 m/s and lasts 10 seconds. If a survivor starts running at 25 meters into the terror radius, legion gets to get 10 meters on them (survivors move at 4 m/s) which means he is still 15 meters away, oh wait now he gets a cooldown period of 5 seconds, so they just gained back 8 or so meters.

Huntress - You would be correct if every map was just a flat plane with nothing in them, which is not the case, being a 110% killer means holding w is even stronger against her. And you don't want to loop her, it's risky, she might hit you, so the best play is to immediately drop pallets, hold w and put stuff between you and her.

Deathslinger - Same as huntress but even worse because hes only got 1 shot.

Executioner - And has literally 0 map pressure. The whole point of his power is to bait you into vaulting or dropping the pallet and then when you do he m2s, if you don't, he keeps going. Best strategy is to not even try looping, just hold w, and immediately drop pallets.

Trickster - really? Hes just a worst version of deathslinger and huntress who has to land no less than 8 ranged attacks on you, all while moving slower than a survivor while throwing. Hold w is literally his counter.

Demogorgon - they already nerfed that addon, again, with shred, you don't want to risk looping him because he might bait it or cancel the power. Just throw down the pallet immediately and keep running.

Nemesis - Same as PH, but slightly worse because he has to hit you 3 times.

Plague - Which also requires that survivors cleanse in order to get her power. Outside of that she gets one 60 second use of it. So you just hide for 60 seconds, and now she is an m1 killer for the rest of the game, no power, and you can immediately drop every pallet and hold w. Additionally, her purge doesn't have as much range as you think it does.

Clown - Same as freddy, his power is literally just a slightly better (but no teleports) version of freddys power. You don't loop clowns, you hold w and drop pallets.

Doctor - Again, his power is at the "LOOP" why risk looping, just drop the pallet immediately and hold w and now he can't do anything.

Twins - The amount of shadow nerfs and strange things about this killer make it extremely difficult. But i'll contend that you can't hold w against victor, you can against charlotte though.

Ghostface - He is an m1 killer with no terror radius, the definition of hold w drop pallets.

Bubba - Same deal, just drop pallets and hold w, he has no map pressure and can't move around like billy can. I will add that additionally there is a bit of skill involved in potentially trying to stun him with the pallet, although this is risky. Instead of the usual 1 pallet, he gets to eat through 2-3 before he loses 3 gens. Better, but given that most maps have 12+ pallets, not gonna change much.

Pig - Her traps aren't really part of this, and her dash requires her to charge it and be at a loop. Again, the definition of hold w and drop pallet immediately. Her power is anti-loop and slowdown when you get traps on their head, but she still requires you to land that first down.

You are underestimating the power of hold w. If a survivor hold w, doesn't drop pallets, doesn't vault windows, doesn't do anything but run in a straight line, it takes the killer 48 seconds to down them. factor in picking them up, finding a hook, and hooking them, and you probably just spend 60-70 seconds doing this. You just lost 3 gens from the other 3 survivors on the gens.

And you are over-estimating the power of “hold W”

Please upload a video where you are able to just “hold W” and take the killer on a wild goose chase for 48s without vaulting or using pallets. That is honestly a load of rubbish.

  • What are survivors supposed to do? Sit there on a silver platter for you waiting to be hooked?

“Hold W” meta honesty sounds ridiculous.

Ah yes, the whole 'If I drop a cake, you are legally required to not try winning, as per Survivors Handbook 4th Edition' Failure to follow this rule will get said Killer marked as 'toxic' and 'tryhard' for eternity.

You’re looking at this in your Killer-bias tinted glasses and missing the point.

  • It doesn’t help that the cakes are rare for survivors, in some cases it can be a few lvl 50 bloodwebs before you get one, so it could be that they simply don’t have any.

  • Ah yes, the typical “survivors are crybabies” circlejerk thread.

  • @Power_Guy said:

Here we go with more 'The Killer is toxic if they try to win in a way Survivors don't approve of' posts.

Wow, what a major contribution you have made to this thread by making that comment

Survivors set the pace of the game from the start. In the situation youre describing if everyones doing gens and not being pressured 4 gens wilk be gone by the time that survivors out. This isnt a 1v1 game. Its a 4v1. Yeah, 1 survivor is out and theres 3 escapes. Not very good.

That’s assuming everyone is coordinated. If you’re talking about the average solo game then you can pretty much guarantee that your teammates will dance around the hook as you get camped.

To get a guaranteed win against a camper you need all 3 survivors on separate gens, in all my time playing solo survivor I don’t think I’ve seen such a feat before. Again with SWF it’s a piece of cake but we’re talking about solos here.

Good survivors still can pull off an escape. Even when 1 disconnected. It won´t happen always, but it still is possible.

What you say isn´t true in the slightest. Most of my solo survivor matches have 4 gens completed by the time the killer got 3 or 4 hooks. I can even prove it, with the hook counter.

Survivors can equip WGLF and as i said, i earn as much, if not more points than the killer. Double bloodpoints not being worth it... suuuuure!

You make survivor sound rough. When its estabished, that survivors are the power role.

    Are they the power role?

The killer has the power to just ruin the game for 1 survivor by camping or tunnelling them out the game.

Coordinated survivors can delay the inevitable but if the killer wants one survivor out the game it’s pretty much guaranteed and there’s not much you can do about it. Survivors have no where near that much power.

  • DC penalty is off & Spirit is one of the most unbalanced killers in the game, especially when using Stridor & Mother daughter ring

  • It isn’t a DBD forum if there isn’t a “nerf this” or a killer/survivor sided thread every week.

  • @Lord_Tony said:

if this is bannable then tbagging should be bannable

Well someone is quick to make this a “us vs them” argument. Teaming is a bannable offense.

  • I don’t understand what’s so bad about holding W. That means the survivor is getting off the gen early to get a head start which isn’t very productive.

Also with unsafe loops and less pallets becoming the norm running in a straight line is the best option for wasting the killers time.

  • Dead Hard is fine. If you don’t drop chases then a survivor can only use it 3 times.

  • So we don’t have anymore perks that encourage slugging meta

  • The equivalent would be complaining about an Iri head Huntress with old Ebony mori wiping teams. Powerful items change the tide of the match for both sides

  • Is that the point? Scratch marks aren’t supposed to directly lead you to the survivor without any thought into it, otherwise the devs may as well have replaced scratch marks with arrows.

  • Plenty of people would kill to be in his shoes right now with his popularity on YouTube & Twitch.

  • Bodyblocking in that way is griefing, which I believe is a ban-able offense.

  • Depends on the situation. If I can see my teammates are at least putting up a decent chase against the killer & gens are getting done at a steady pace, then I have time to scout for totems.

Otherwise if the killer is applying constant pressure you’d lose the game trying to find & cleanse totems. You are better off doing gens.

  • Just force survivors out of the gate, it really isn’t that hard.

Then we'll see killer buffs in the near future, yes?

Killers should get buffs because their broken offering got nerfed?

  • So what if they are useless now? At least they don’t promote unhealthy gameplay & give near enough free wins like they used to.

  • Leave it as it is. It’s an offering it shouldn’t be there to carry the win for you.

  • Nurse still dominates games assuming the player knows what they are doing. The recharge has done nothing as the only useful addons happen to be the ones that reduce the recharge to pre-nerf level.

  • @KateDunson said:

No, at red ranks is a key fest escape, and rn i decided to don't play for this reason

I guess we are all supposed to take your word for it? The streamers I watch dont run into these so called “key fests” so you must ha e some really bad luck or you over-exaggerate

  • Aren’t most, if not all current survivors in game sexually ambiguous?

  • This change has given me motivation to play this game. Me & my SWF literally had to change our names & hide our profiles every so often as we were being targeted with Ebony Moris for playing with friends.

  • Moris deserve the nerf. Far too game-changing for an offering, no counterplay other than “don’t die” & promoted unhealthy gameplay.

Still can’t believe people are defending this offering, the survivors equivalent would have been spawning the hatch after 1 gen is done.

  • Compare hatch escape rates with keys to 3-4K rates with the old Ebony Mori, I’m pretty sure you’ll find the latter is a lot more common.

  • She deserves nerfs. Even right now she’s ridiculously OP. Just because she requires dedication & time to master doesn’t mean she should 4K every game.

The blink recharge system was an utter failure as the only useful addons are the ones that happen to reduce the recharge to pre-nerf levels.

  • Lol @ some people claiming there’s keys in almost every lobby, which is clearly over-exaggerated.

Although keys have the potential for a 3 man escape with 1 gen left that’s nowhere near as common as 4k’s with Ebony mori’s.

  • Thank god it has finally been changed.

From the perspective of a solo player now I don’t have to face games that are basically a guaranteed lose if there is an Ebony Mori in play.

From the perspective of an SWF player we no longer get targeted with Ebony Moris just because the killer assumes we are a sweat squad or toxic.

  • No, DS gives me a chance to enjoy the game.

  • @Volfawott said:

Not to be rude but why are you taking the killer gloating so seriously.

Whether it be is shaking their head or smacking you on hook why are you taking it so seriously that you have to do a whole forum post about it.

I guess you missed out on the countless “Toxic” T-bags & Flashlight clicking threads that come up every now & then.

  • The main reason why Trail of torment V1 had a 60s cooldown was because it would make stealth killers obsolete.

Yet Tinkerer pretty much has the same effect but can be activated many times, even more so with Ruin.

  • Toxic-ness only exists in endgame chat, and you can rightfully report it.

Otherwise if you get offended by teabags or clicky flashlights then this game probably ain’t for you.

  • Yes killer is more stressful, but when people claim survivor is easy mode, they seem to forget that 4 survivors spread out the workload between each other while Killer is alone & has 100% workload, so it’s naturally stressful to play killer.

  • It’s only useful in an SWF, playing solo it’s almost useless as my teammates don’t know I have it.

Should be a perk that’s activated by the killer’s presence rather than a teammate.

  • Thought this thread was going to be about Blackface Bubba

  • In a scenario where there’s 2 survivors left the one being slugged should get a GIVE UP option.

I personally waited for the slug to die & it’s incredibly boring, not sure how killers can roam the map for 4 mins trying to find me. Then to top it off I get blamed for holding the game hostage in the chat.

  • Well you probably triggered them by bringing an OP offering & camping.

  • @bubbabrotha said:

Don't want to give you the satisfaction.

That statement itself just shows childish behaviour. Man up and just force them out if you want the game to end.

  • Dead hard for distance is the only way it’s usable, using it to dodge hits is very unreliable
