Why are people drawing comparisons to DS & PGTW? They are nothing alike, just because they happen to have the same timer doesn’t mean that both have to be nerfed at the same time. It’s the typical “us vs them” mentality.

Except that we've already crossed that Rubicon. Even at low/intermediate level, SWFs are the norm now, not the exception. And that's with the SWF smurfcomp protections removed (why?) and killer matchmaking removed (why?).
Either BHVR needs to balance around SWF, or offset matchmaking to ensure that the coordination bonus SWFs have is reflected in the opponents they are put up against.
And what is the source of this information? As far as I’m aware BHVR haven’t released any info on solo-SWF ratio recently.

Yeah ds is way worse because no downsides literally. Except being once which theres 4 survivors.
Multiple downsides actually,
1- Makes you the obsession, which can be detrimental to yourself if the killer is running Rancor or Remember me.
2- Requires you to be unhooked to even get use out of it.
3- You need to hit a difficult skill check
4- You can be slugged

Remember that every second a Killer loses by getting DS´ed translates to 3 seconds of gen completion since 3 Survivors will be working on gens. In Scott´s pretty conservative example: 1 DS equals 120 seconds of gen time(400 are needed to finish them all).
Sure, if it’s a well coordinated SWF that’s on a competitive level, but for most, if not all of solo games that is not the case
Balancing perks based on coordinated SWF teams isn’t the right way to go.
-
Nice to see there’s a huge uprising against DS because Pop got a slight nerf.
Comparing DS and PGTW is like comparing apples to oranges....
-
What rewards do survivors get for completing gens that rival the power of PGTW, which gives the killer a huge reward for a hook?
Deja Vu? Nope
Dark sense? Nope
Detectives Hunch? Good perk but nope
Besides, PGTW only got reduced by 15s, it’s hardly a game changer. You just have to be more mindful of the timer now.
-
You can’t draw comparisons between two completely different perks. Nice try tho
-
Survivors tend to DC because:
Having sub-par teammates
Someone suicided on hook/DC’d
Killer is using notoriously unfun add ons (Iri Head, Swing chains+jump rope etc)
Killer playstyle (camping, tunnelling, slugging)
Killer brought a suspected mori
Certain killers (God Nurse, Freddy, Spirit)
Not condoning DC’s but they are the most common reasons why they happen
-
The new gen sounds were a lazy afterthought. Even Technician didn’t lower the noises.
Also it was obnoxiously loud playing survivor
-
Well considering that as survivor your game can get ruined by being camped or tunnelled out of the game, I’d say the stacked second chances are fair.
-
Personally I just use undying + Ruin and maybe discordance to catch out the pesky early game gen that gets done.
Undying + Ruin is really effective as long as you actively push people off gens, know when to give up a chase, have an idea what other survivors are doing etc.
I personally think it makes every killer viable against a decent survivor team.
-
ToTH should make totems highlight in yellow while they are being cleansed. It’s so easy to miss the notification when you are tied up with chasing a survivor.
I guess another buff could be to remove the token system and have the cleansing time be a fixed amount rather than going down with each totem cleansed.
-
Untold rules, survivors seem to have them as well.
1) Not allowed to bring keys
2) Not allowed to play with friends
3) Not allowed to play aggressively with BT & DS
4) Not allowed to run the killer around for more than 30s.
5) Not allowed to play as Blendette
*Breaking any of these rules makes you liable to be camped, tunnelled or be mori.
-
Playing as PH, the cages just plain suck. The optimal way to use the cages is to tunnel off the hook then cage them...I can’t really think of any other reasons I’d want to cage survivors outside of a flashlight/Sabo squad.
To top it off it’s a pain in the butt to torment survivors and the cages remove torment. One of the best ways to play him is to save torment for the final Judgement which sees cages rarely getting used.
Also the BP gains from the cages just plain suck. They should be on par with the current BP gains from normal hooks.
From the survivor POV, it also sucks. PH can potentially render your build obsolete, your BP gains from cage rescues suck and torment encourages PH to tunnel off hook.
-
This isn’t a competitive game, there’s no need for the excessive DC penalty
-
I managed to complete it. It’s definitely difficult with most killers avoiding the stun.
If you want it really badly just wait for the killer to lunge through the pallet. You might get hit in the process but it’ll be a pallet stun.
-
Ironically the rework was supposed to make him less annoying...the static blast is even worse to go against than the passive madness gain imo.
-
Compound 21 + Alchemist ring. There’s literally no getting away from that unless you are at a decent tile.
-
There are plenty of games out there that have have lost the interest of casual players all because the devs balance the game as if it were a tournament 24/7.
I’d rather DbD not fall victim to that.
-
Adrenaline is fine. As survivor you are basically playing with 3 perks all game.
-
If you let 4 gens go off in 2 minutes then you really should look at your play style, you sure you wasn’t afk?
-
I think it’s fine where it is. (Other than the penalty you start with) The RNG is annoying but it can be a powerful tool (when it works) in dire situations. For example if RNG is on my side I can pick up a slug in less than 10s and almost insta heal survivors.
I personally tend to pair it with Spine chill to try and get skill checks.
-
I agree with the auto-breaking of hooks within 14m upon being picked up. It won’t guarantee an escape (which would make it OP) but it will definitely help survivors with taking hits or sabotaging hooks to help you.
Right now Boil over just punishes new killers and is only somewhat useful on indoor maps.
-
Father’s Glasses + Bloodhound
-
Just remove Cypress Mori and allow killer to kill last survivor. Would make sense Lore-wise as that could be considered the Entity’s “gift” for doing their job well.
-
I don’t really mind the way Pyramid Head looks, his design in DBD is still faithful to the original in SH2 and his P3 Skin just looks so badass.
However I would like to complain about his latest Forge Born skin. They honestly could have done so much better with the glowing “red hot” metal on his knife and head.
-
Why should you, as killer get notified if someone is working on a gen that has been fully regressed? There was literally no counter to that, my position would be revealed just by doing my objective...
Regardless it’s still a good information perk and still has great synergy with Ruin.
-
Tbh I don’t think even streaming is worth your time. 99% of killer players will Mori or tunnel you if you advertise your twitch.
-
Personally I think it’s easier to run For The People & heal someone to become obsession.
-
Funny how Blight has an add on that reveals auras just by smacking the wall yet the aura addons for Deathslinger & Pyramid Head are Iri and are way too situational (and in PH’s case, too many conditions) to even get decent use out of them.
I wonder who does the balancing!?
-
Until Moris are balanced survivors are going to keep “crashing” at loading screen.
How about you refrain from using the notoriously OP offerings and use devour hope or Rancor for your moris.
-
Not sure what you’re trying to prove with that fictional pic....
If killers have bugs with their power it shouldn’t take a genius to figure out that there’s probably a lot more work involved to fix them, for example the bugs with Nurse tend to be collision issues with objects on maps which will take a lot more time & resources to fix compared to a bugged perk.
I honestly hope this gets fixed soon. 5s stun was more like 3s anyway due to the time it takes to get off the killer’s shoulder. Now you barely gain any distance.
-
@OldHunterLight said:
Probably a bug that will be fixed within a week considering it's for the survivor side.
Such a delusional statement to make.
-
Hasn’t even been out live for a day and people are already complaining!
-
So flashlight clicking & OoO is toxic? Must be written in a killer rule book somewhere....
Probably someone who just wanted to be chased yet you felt the need to get on your high horse and “punish” them for wanting to play the game
-
The game HAS to be harder for killers, it’s a 1v4 it’s just the way it is. Your mistakes as killer SHOULD be 4 times more impactful compared to a survivor making mistakes.
Also have you played Solo survivor?? If you balance this game around high level SWF players you’ll simply kill the game for the majority of the playerbase. I still get solo games where my whole team loses to the “weak” Wraith, Ghostface, Trapper etc...
-
It’s Handicapped himself by playing with no addons and he used Ghostface, who isn’t exactly one of the best killers.
-
The reason I find him unfun is Most players seem to tunnel with him.
Guess that must be the best way to play him 🤷🏻♂️
-
Gotta disagree with the thread title.
Infinite loops, pallets vacuums, DS, BT, MoM and more all had little to no counterplay yet were nerfed to have counterplay.
Stop trying to play the victim card on killers.
-
As survivor I want more places to hide so I’d welcome bushes like the ones seen on new Badham.
-
He creates a lose-lose situation at pallets & windows with his M2. That’s literally the only thing that makes PH good right now.
-
I’d say he needs a rework. In most cases there’s absolutely no reason to send people to cage.
Torment is best saved for final Mori. Not sure if that’s intentional way to play him in the devs mind?
There Should be an easier way to torment survivors but at the same time they should be able to cleanse themselves by worshipping at an altar or something (Similar to plague & Freddy)
-
DS is only useful in endgame. If it gets used early-mid game then it’s useless.
-
I hate his mindgaming just by holding M2 too but outside of hitting you while animation locked his power is easily dodge-able.
Take his effortless mindgaming away without another buff then he’ll just be another useless killer.
-
With M&A his TR is disgusting. For a ranged killer to be able to get into pretty much melee range without warning is madness.
Doesn’t help that his TR is quiet for for the first few seconds of the music either.
-
At the very least survivors should have a tell when Spirit enters phase while in her TR, maybe like a broken glass sound or something?
Even then she’ll still be one of the best killers, with trained ears & Stridor it won’t matter if you can tell if spirit is phasing, unless you are next to a long wall with a window or long loop with pallet down you are screwed.
-
Myers is one of the weakest killers in the game. So good luck. Most popular killer players tend to place Myers at the lowest tier when doing a killer tier list.
-
This is getting childish now. “Waaah my killer is locked in lobby so survivors should be too!!” There’s actually no good reason for survivors to be locked as well.
Maybe if each survivor had their own ability I’d agree with the change otherwise it’s pretty pointless.
-
I like Grinding for P3, it gives me reason to play.
Most of the time I don’t even show off the P3 Cosmetic but it’s just satisfying to see the prestige 3 emblem for me.
I heard some rumours of devs eventually giving out rewards for prestige characters so hopefully my grinding will pay off.
-
No, body blocking with BT in the right situation is a good strategy.
