Stats aren't everything though, in fact they can often be misleading. Everyone knows that Nurse has been the strongest killer in the game (or at least tied with Blight) for years, and yet she has a low kill rate because many new players try her and don't understand how her power works. The same can be said with Blight. That's not an excuse to leave these characters in their current state. No killer should be able to win nearly 2,000 matches in a row, even if they're hard to master.
We know BHVR hyperfocuses on making changes based on their own stats. Whether or not Blight needs changes doesn't matter if BHVR doesn't register it as a problem because their own stats says he is fine.

It is absolutely ridiculous that someone can win that many matches in a row. It frustrates me to no end that the devs continue to make balance changes to other killers while completely ignoring Blight and Nurse.
We shouldn't be balancing a killer around what 1 player has accomplished with them. BHVR put out their stats last week and Blight wasn't even in the top 5 killers for Kill Rate in both High MMR and Broad MMR. This is very likely why blight gets passed over for changes. He's simply not overperforming according to their own stats.

We could tighten MMR so much that it would take hours for a blight to get a match and I guarantee he would still win cause apart of the problem is also balance
So you want Blight to be nerfed so that no one can win with him anymore? I don't see how that is anymore fair.

Making him a little bit easier to deal as casual lobby would be a great start tho, don't you think?
It doesn't really matter, because we're talking about the game matching players up with such a huge skill difference which allows for such high win streaks in the first place.
-
Nerfing Blight wouldn't stop these kinds of win streaks. This is a fundamental failure of the matchmaking system.
-
It's always funny how a survivor perk with one of the highest use rates is treated as a perk that only helps new players. Also ignores how the perk is on a dlc character that most new players likely do not have.
Considering we've nerfed perks in the past for being widely use, WoO has been long due to a nerf. But it also doesn't matter because BHVR already released a power crept version of the perk.
-
If your internet is so bad that you are constantly getting disconnected from online games then why are you bothering to play online games in the first place?
-
Camping and being a tryhard is just how killers have to play if they want a reasonable chance to win against survivors of equal skill. Survivors have a lot of advantages with their numbers and do not need an extra person.
-
If the aura reading didn't go on cooldown, why would you ever bring WOO?

Im geussing this is the consequence of not letting the Anti-tunnel/Anti-camp through Devs just went okay you lost Power privileges if you wanna tunnel or camp you gotta m1 only no power.
This has been a thing they've added on to powers even before they added the anti-camp feature into the game. Artist is the first killer I remember not being able to use their power around a hooked survivor. I do not think letting those poorly thought out changes through last year would have stopped the devs from doing this either.
-
@BongoBoys said:
There does seem to be a disturbing pattern lately of Killers can no longer use your power near a hooked survivor.
I expect older killers will get the same treatment when they get tweaked in the future
BHVR needs to pick one, the anti-facecamp meter or the turning killer powers off when near the hook. There's no reason both need to exist in the game and the turning off of killer powers is clunky because mult-floor maps exist.

Because lots of people are playing it, which matters to the devs. The online community is only a small percentage of the playerbase, albeit a loud small percentage. We have 1v4 for most of the year. I think it's fine to have a few weeks a couple times a year that probably helps draw back a bunch of people who had grown bored of the base game. And I'm someone who has complained about 2v8 many times in the past lol
The problem is they keep extending it every single time. If every time they do a survey and people say they want 2v8 longer, then just make it longer from the start.
-
@Khastrx said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/464475/seriously-i-039-m-tired-of-2v8-extensions
Because shockingly there are players that want more than 2 weeks to play the mode, the game does not revolve around you. Besides you'll get all the 1v4 you want when the new chapter releases.
If BHVR is going to keep extending 2v8 to 3 weeks, they should just release it 3 weeks instead.
-
This is just BHVR sanitizing the game so that everything functions the same no matter what killer and I think it's really missing the mark. Unique interactions like this actually give reason to run things that are not just meta. If there's no unique interactions to play with, then it will just be meta.
I fully expect that it's not just Spirit Fury, but every perk that triggers on a pallet break to only trigger on a "basic" action.
-
@Lokantor said:

But Spirit Fury currently does work with Special Breaks, the version they showed only has Spirit Fury working on Basic Breaks
Spirit Fury is just a preview to what they will do to other perks. They said that there was no mechanical changes and then immediately showed us a perk being nerf from it. Their word means nothing.
Likely what will happen is perks that used to trigger on any pallet break will now only trigger on "basic" breaks as to remove syngery with killer powers. Alert is also very likely going to see the same thing where it only triggers on "basic" breaks. We already know BHVR hated vault perks working with powers despite it being in the game for years before they started removing it.
-
It's much more important we nerf Spirit Fury so that no one uses it rather than address game speed issues. The game has only gotten faster over the years, I do not see this changing anytime soon. Seems like we must just accept that games are being balanced around lasting 5 minutes.

Most Survivors only don't want it because there is no Killer bot and the match just ends. Its not hypocrisy its the game treats a killer leaving differently to a survivor.
I don't have a issue with killer abandons situations being as common as survivors IF a killer dc bot is added like Sogo suggested in a previous comment.Killer bots do exist in 2v8 so I find this excuse irrelevant. Survivors don't want killers to abandon, because they feel the need to make sure the player suffers their bm. That is all it has ever been. And it's been an issue for years even before the abandon system. Survivors want their time respected, but anytime killers ask for the same there are complaints.
-
This has been an issue with the game for years now. BHVR has had plenty of opportunities to do something about toxicity. Most we ever got was the chat filter which has always been a poor fix to a problem that requires better moderation.
-
Survivors asked for the abandon system so they didn't have to wait 4 minutes to die while slugged. Survivors now use the system to avoid watching a 10-15 second cutscene.
Killers ask for an abandon option to avoid waiting 2 minutes for the game to be over. Survivors claim this is unfair.
The double standard and hypocrisy of the community is sad to watch.
-
This community spent years making excuses for this behavior and they still continue to do so.

people not heard of a mute button?
if the solution is to turn it off why spend the development resources on it over a ping system.
-
With how toxic this community is already, I don't think voice chat is a good idea. A ping system would be fine.
-
Since Myers license has been lost, there will likely be no changes to his kit until a possible time they reacquire the license. We saw the same thing with Demogorgon where he sat in the state the license left at until the license was reacquired.
It also very likely why the rework came out when it did alongside changes to perks from that chapter.
-
The devs spent the last year doing practically zero balance changes to develop anti systems they canceled. Line of course people are running the same things because nothing changed. The game is basically the same as it was at the start of last year.

This game by its nature leads to more toxicity, because it's pvp and asymmetrical. An asym game is not only hard to balance, balance isn't felt as much by the player. So you far more often get the feeling, that you are treated unfairly.
And if something is unfair people get mad. So to not get mad, you have to not take winning to seriously. Given however, that everything in the game suggest otherwise, many people do. I've seen one toxic killer (who threw the N word) so far, in my short time here, but more often survivors. Though that is to be exspected, since there are 4 of them, and half of the time they are toxic to their team mates.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4054615#Comment_4054615
While it's certainly true, that a company can do something to discourage toxic behaviour and BHVR could likely do more. I think we shouldn't blame them alone. Everyone of us is reponsible to be nice.
I do one thing, I always write "gg" and see how/if the other side reacts. Some people are really nice.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X3K4LONL444N/nice.jpg
I'll think of this Eleven the next time, I get tunneled out or someone calls me toxic for writing "gg" or calls me a camper for defending a 3gen. :-)
{Even though I am not as good as they think ^^}
if bhvr was tougher on toxicity it would be less of a problem. It is there job to make sure the game environment isn't the toxic dumpster it is. They deserve plently of blame for this.
-
BHVR has done nothing to squash toxicity in the community and behold the community is a toxic wasteland.
-
Win Streaks largely happen, because the game's matchmaking might as well be non-existent. If we "ban" winstreaks than we are just removing what skill remains in the game to make it a coin flip simulator. Idk about you, but a game where no matter how you play always results in a win 50% of the time would not be a game I would want to play very long.
-
This is what happens with every killer. The fact we see "Nerf Newly Released Killer" within the first hour of release, the vocal survivors simply do not want to actually learn how to play against new killers and just want easy wins.
-
You can argue that you don't find Venca fun to verus, but considering his main power is a SKILLshot, you can't really claim he takes zero skill.
-
If we're complaining about aura reading making a role unskilled, are we also going to nuke perks like Windows?
-
Would it break the game itself? Probably not. However, buffs may not fix the core issue and that is the difference in power between top tier killers and lower tier killers. With a band as large as what we currently have, actual balance is practically impossible.

that was the thing. all the crybaby killer players looked past the really good basekit buffs they were gonna get and all they did was avert their eyes and complain about what survivors were gonna get out of the update. as someone who tries very hard not to tunnel as killer, the basekit bbq and pop would’ve been AMAZING. but no, since killers can’t hard tunnel with free will and no repercussions, the entire thing had to get scrapped.
Here's what actually happened. The first ptb dropped and killer players pointed out that the basekit pop and bbq largely helped S tiers like nurse and blight more than the killers who really needed it. Then the penalties for tunneling were far more punishing on the same weaker killers. People even suggested doing basekit pain res.
Then the second attempt just removed practically any buff killers would have gotten for not tunneling while just giving survivors stronger defenses which had it's own problem.
-
Everything is a solo q stomper. Not really enough reason to justify a nerf.

I'm not saying it nurse level and agree he is well designed but the power is much more on the killer to hit than the survivor to dodge. Just saying dodge puts everything on the survivor and takes all agency away from the killer when their power is much more on them than the survivor. Predict the survivor or land it right under them and you ARE guaranteed a hit. Not everyone will be able to do that and fewer will be able to do so consistently but some players will and if it turns out to be easier than you think we could have a nurse situation.
I don't get the problem. A player gets good at the killer and is able to perform well. We don't need more killers who give survivors so much warning that using their power is a detriment.

Unless the killer, you know, aims. With enough practice it will be nearly guaranteed.
Are we arguing that a killer who takes skill to be good at should be nerfed for requiring skill?
-
@SoGo said:
Shattered Hope needs to either be basekit, or not exist at all.
Honestly I think it would be healthier for the game if Shattered Hope was basekit and boons were made stronger. Boons would be limited to 5 uses a match.
-
The abandon feature is intended to be a way out of being trapped in a losing situation. The killer already has downed all 4 survivors and the likelyhood that you win from there is low. If you abandon you are accepting that you lost and don't want to play out the match.
-
The reality is that the experience of the game as a whole is degrading and it's not just a survivor or killer thing. The current state of game balance is both sides speedrunning their objective and trying to avoid as much interaction as possible.
Not to mention this community is trying to rival the peak toxicity of LoL.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/463025/why-is-this-addon-part-of-chaos-shuffle
The list of banned addons is very arbitrary.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/26PN04NFJCG0/img-20260114-105340.jpg
Trapper cannot use his aura reading addon, but can roll Padded Jaws.
Myers can't roll Blond Hair, but can roll Scratched Mirror.
Artist can't use Iri Feather, but can roll Charcoal Stick (the worst addon she has)
Plague can't use one green addon for some reason, but can get Propylapthic Amulet, an addon that only nerfs you.
It's stuff like this that makes it very clear BHVR does not play their own game.
-
The problem is that now the devs would be required to balance 200+ perks individually against 40+ killers and the devs frankly already struggle to balance the game as is.
-
The abandon system is fundamentally flawed. The idea of giving players the options to freely quit out of a game that is being extended by the opposing team sounds good in theory, but the implementation is so unfairly balanced.
Like why does the system even activate immediately upon the last survivor remaining going down. Frankly it wouldn't even be needed if BHVR didn't backtrack of having the finisher mori auto activate.
Then killers have to wait 10 full minutes of no gens being done to abandon even though bleeding out is a 4 minute timer.
Then they added the whole "if you get slugged 3 times you can leave" which negatively affects killers who have to slug as part of their power like Twins.
-
I'm not sure it's the base gen speeds as much as it's bhbr giving survivors so many tools that increase progress and they stack.
However it would probably be better for the overall game health if survivors had to do more to repair gens. Like collect parts to be able to make a certain amount of progress so that way they are moving around the map now often.
-
God forbid survivors have to spend anytime doing anything other than the objective.
-
Are we still complaining about getting 3 gen when killer tools to hold a 3 gen indefinitely have been nerfed and there's a limit to amount of times a killer can regress a gen?
-
@Brix said:
Also Stealth perks on alien are useless which i would love to run because Turrets let survivors know either way if im on my way to them lol
I thought about this before and I think a way Xenomorph could be changed so that stealth builds are possible is to make the flamethrowers only detect xenomorph while in tunnels.
-
The Muers rework is just another case of bhvr not respecting why people played the killer.
Nerfing stalk range and giving him a dash attack are pretty much the exact opposites of his Myers played before.
-
For starters, I would revert the slowdown nerf he got alongside the bug fix for his missed tail attacks.
-
These topics pop up all the time and everytime the OP doesn't provide any evidence of their claim.

It always does make me wonder what type of killer these types of players want to go against.
- They complain about the macro gameplay map control killers like skull merchant and knight and sadako (who then gets nerfed and reworked 10 times).
- They complain about anti-loop killers and ask BHVR to stop making those.
- They complain about the anti-shift+w killers like ghoul and blight and complain about those.
- They complain about stealth and hit and run style killers like wraith.
Like legit, at this point what type of killer do you want to play against? Because at this point it seems like you don't want to play against any of them.
They just want killers who are solely M1 so they can run around pallets without needing to think about anything.
-
Besides these being bad ideas, it also sounds like it was written by chatgpt.
