What if we get rid of most self healing but generators heals u.

Just some rework ideas and other ideas. I know this is going to be an extremely crazy idea, but healing can be an issue. This would be added to the base game mechanics and not as a perk, add-on, or item. Remove self-healing and healing others, but generators heal you with the same rules as the healing that is already in the game, but it should take longer to repair the generator. Healing perks still act the same, just that they connect to generators. Perks that allow you to heal in lockers still work. Automatic perks that heal you still work. Survivors can only heal another survivor if they are in the dying state, but they only heal them to the injured state. Once in that state, that survivor needs to heal by repairing a generator. If the survivor is in the deep wound state, they can self-heal themselves.

dying state survivor cant heal another dying state survivor. Once all generators are repaired survivors can heal by opening the exit gate and any non injured / dying survivor can heal the other survivors. Having multiple survivors on the generator does act as if u were healing each other, the same rules apply of healing each other but on the generator. There should be triple skill checks or add more complex skill checks like pressing 2 or more key binds at the same time at specific parts of the ring. The alert of a failed skill check stays on screen for longer duration for the killer. Gens should take longer to repair which gives more time to heal and prevents gen rushing. And should be louder and lights should flicker greenish if its healing a survivor. If the survivor stops to repair the generator it saves their progress of how much they healed that can be continued with any other generator. Regressing a gen doesn't regress the healing done to the players but does stop the healing for a certain amount if survivor is on the gen while it reegress. Killer perks that reduces healing or regress healing works the same way.If the survivor is injured they repair generators and exit gates slower. If multiple are injured they repair the gen much slower until they heal up.

Adding this would make it helpful for both survivors and killers because survivors get to do both healing and repairing and killers get know where exactly they are healing at .

f this to broken for survivors Add more generators that needs to be fix b4 opening the gate. Decrease the down time of miss base attack for killers.

This should be added to the base kit and not as a perk or add on.Once the killer discovers the generator, the killer memorizes what state the generator is at and the hud indicator would have specific color indicator to tell the process of the gen. The killer has to be be 10 meters and has to look at the generator to memorize it.less then 25% its red. If 25% or more its orange. If 50% or more its blue. If 75% its yellow . If its completed its white. If the generator gains process but the killer didn't see the generator while its gaining progress it doesn't change the color. If the generator are regressing it does change the color if it went down a color without the killer looking at it.

It's more of a way to not memorize every generator's progress. It would help new killers and make the role more user-friendly. It would also help to prevent gen rushing and indicate which part of the map they should patrol. It would still leave the skill expression of looking at the generators.

This should be added to all killers base kit and not as an added on or perk. All tomes of all kind should be visible to killers. In the killer radius if there any loud noise like healing ,screaming, whimpering. They should gain a spider sense where the closer they are to the sound the screen outlines becomes redder and blooder. The further a way to the sound the less the outline is covered. It doesn't tell them if they are looking right at them if they are behind them or on left or right of them it senses them. It won't pin pont exactly where they are just that they are near them.. Its just a visual aid to the audio that is already heard.

  • God forbid survivors have to spend anytime doing anything other than the objective.

I was going add that the survivor could choose if the generator heals them or not. It rewards survivors for doing the objective. Which is the point of the game. It would combine two task to one which would save survivors time. This would simplify the game. U still can heal the survivor of they are downed. Which really can be a buffed to survivors. There would be check and balance if it would be added which is what i listed. But im quickly noticing any change to survivors leads to complaint no matter if it buffs the role. Or if the killler gets quality of life change its called a nerfed to survivers or removes all skills expression to the killer when what it does is makes it user friendly and makes killers less miserable. Both sides just want to be it's a miserable or just biases .

  • I get that you want to make the game more newcomer friendly, but I feel like you're missing why healing other survivors is a mechanic to begin with.

For killers, it not only slows the game down by encouraging survivors to spend time off gens, but also group up with other survivors to get healed. This grouping up is important, as it gives killers a chance to interrupt multiple survivors at once and potentially snowball, which is an important part of the killer macro game.

For survivors, healing breaks up the time spent repairing generators, which helps make them feel a bit less monotonous. It also encourages team play and altruism, which is the main thing that defines survivor as a role. Otherwise the only time you'd interact with the rest of your team would be a quick unhook before heading back to grinding through gens.

Healing is an important part of DBD's gameplay loop, and even discarding any balance worries, removing it would just make the game feel more barebones and samey.
