People aren't getting banned from rage quitting from the game as it is. Doubt anything will be done to people doing so in the modifier.
-
The problem with randomness is that humans are naturally inclined to look for patterns. Getting the same perk several times in a row can still be the result of a random selection.
-
Some people find it fun to win games.
-
It took the devs 2 years to remove hug tech after stating it was a bug and will be fixed. Sometimes issues can be quite complicated to fix and may not be the highest priority to fix over issues that are more game breaking.
-
People still complain when we get killers who aren't good at chase. Skull Merchant was heavily complained about and people wanted the devs to make her a more chase oriented killer.

Also, you should consider that anonymous players are more likely call you racist things in the endgame chat so it actually is pretty close dude
Then report them.
Vilifying anon players because you are keeping track of whenever an anon player does something bad while ignoring all the times non anon players do the same thing will never resolve the issue of people spouting racist things in end game chat.

did I miss something regarding the next midchapter licensed survivor?
Also.. we did not just get generic white female Survivor #36, now with pointy ears! instead of… some interesting survivor from the D&D world?
We got an Elf.
It's a shame we didn't get a more interesting race from the D&D world like Tiefling or Dragonborn, but I figured we'll get something closer to human for survivor.

I went to the exact part where they say that they're starting with the 5 original killers to keep it accessible but afterwards there's nothing relating they'll add more of them. You're sure you didn't hear it wrong?
After they talk about the cages instead of hooks for the mode, they mention they are looking to add more in future iterations.

I am aware that the killers are getting "teamwork powers" instead of perks, but I haven't heard the part about adding more killers. Are you sure?
On stream they are starting with the 5 free killers so that it's accessible for everyone and as they iterate the mode they plan to implement more killers.
-
They mentioned they plan to add more killers later on.
They also mention that they are giving killer powers teamwork. The example on stream being that cloaked wraith grants the nearby ally killer undetectable as well.
-
Hard to get hyped over not knowing much about it. There's a lot of named BBEGs the devs could pull from which would easily make solid killers, but idk what the devs would do for the survivor if there's a survivor with the chapter.
Plus I expect the perks to simulate rolling dice for their effects (think of Dramaturgy from Nic Cage having random good and bad effects) so they are bound to be either a hit or miss.
Plus personally I haven't really played in many published adventures compared to homebrew campaigns and run a homebrew campaign myself. So it's harder to get hyped over named characters from D&D when most of my D&D experience is people making up their own things.

Killers should not be "playing around hatch". It is pathetic to slug to 4k. The killer already won the match with 3 kills. Just play out the match with a perfectly fair hatch race. Killer had a way better chance of finding it first anyway. So you are giving the last survivor maybe a 15% chance to live.
Why do you need the pity escape so badly? If the killer already won, then it shouldn't matter if you die by the killer playing around hatch.

Still not fair, I gotta waist time looking for the totem just so I can use my perks? Ridiculous
It's a 1v4 game. There's going to be aspects of the game that don't seem to be fair, because it's not a symmetric game. Both sides are not made equal.
-
You can cleanse the totem to remove ruin
-
If you pay attention to anon players looking to find problems, then that is what you're going to find.
There's plently of non-anon mode players who also do the same thing, you just aren't looking for it.
-
As long as we can agree that survivors also need to improve and get better.
-
The feature is meant to deal with facecamping which it has effectively killed as a strategy. Defending the area around the hook has never been an issue.

The limit only prevents egregious 3 genning from dull merchant and co, it does not affect normal gameplay. No one is going to pop/pain res the same gen 9 time, so this is irrelevant in that regard.
the 8 regression limit is active from the start of the game. It has an effect on gameplay. You can see such with Eruption, CoB, and Overcharge all having disappeared from use due to the mechanic.
-
@Hex_Ignored said:
The problem is, has always been and will be for the foreseeable future, stacking regression perks. By themselves, both pop and pain res as they currently are, are not problematic in the slightest, but combined with each other and additional slowdowns, it quickly spirals out of control.
Diminishing returns for stacking would be ideal, so that people who only run 1 aren't affected, but those who feel the need to just use the 4 most meta slowdown options get less out of them.
There's already a limit of 8 regression events per gen. Stacking regression is just going to eat the events faster. Dimishing returns would make sense if killers had an unlimited amount of regression events.

Some games are literally unplayable without some form of gen defense. Can we stop blanket calling killers "bad" who use it. That's a load of nonsense. Streamers with thousands of hours have killer games that last 4-5 minutes when they don't use slowdown, it's not because they are bad. Stop that. Its called wanting to actually play the game and have more then 2-3 chases before the game is over. You play against a 3-4 man who is efficient on gens it doesn't even matter how quick your chases are without slowdown.
The funniest thing the DBD community has decided is that by choosing to use the best perks, you are actually bad. Even though intentionally handicapping yourself for no reason is not something people do in any pvp game.
-
Artist's antiloop already has counterplay to it and her antiloop isn't even the strongest part of her power.
PH's entire thing is cages which bypass defenses however the only way to send survivors to cages is if they get tormented which they need to run through the trails to do. Survivors can opt to not run into trails to prevent PH from getting his cages.
-
It's a perk that see use, so it needs to be nerfed.
-
While Pop and Pain Res may have deserved the nerfs they got, they will still continue to be the highly used perks because there's not much competition since other gen regression perks got hit hard with the 3-gen update. I'm worried that the devs will never address the reason why other gen regression perks fail to see use and will just conitnue to nerf pop and pain res.
-
Map Offerings, FTP + Buckle Up, flashlights, and syringes are not innately toxic. They can be too strong and the devs take a long time to address issues like this, but people running that stuff are not innately toxic.
A problem with the community is that people love to call valid stuff toxic, because they don't like it.
-
If you think anyone trying to be a good sport in post game chat is a problem, you need to take a break.
-
If you want instant blinds, you have flashbangs.
-
You can add bp to unused stuff all you want, but people aren't going to pick up really bad perks for a bp bonus.

It was never best information perk for most killers except like Oni.
Ultimate weapon was bad for any killer who can't deal with just hold W and of course stealth killers. It's weird that UW gets called the best tracking perk when it didn't nearly have the usage to back it up. It was a single time ping if your current location so it wasn't like you couldn't hide or sneak away.

It doesn't. It is a competitive game that was once a party game.
There's no leaderboards and there's no way to see your "rank". It's an unranked/casual mode.
-
Dbd only has a casual mode already.
-
When I play survivor, I complain about my teammates giving up immediately.
Fact is people queueing up to play DBD want to play against other people. People quitting out immediately without even trying is not fun for either side.

I play without slowdown and using brown addons as slinger/unknown, people still dc if you are not throwing the match or down them early. Survivors saying "if the killer plays fair we will not DC" is as honest as killers saying "If killers get buffed we will not tunnel" both of them are just plain lying.
The whole blaming killers for their own actions is really tiring. Some people will never take accountability for not rage quitting.
-

You're just gonna have more people throwing and not playing the match seriously.

they’re not an adequate replacement, no. But a bot is better than a corpse. And I don’t think hook suicide should be addressed. A player shouldn’t be forced to play a game they aren’t enjoying. Like if hook suicide is removed, they’d probably Just go afk till they die.
If you aren't enjoying DBD, then simply don't queue up to play
-
Removing the DC penalty isn't going to stop these people from ruining your games. Bots are not a good replacement for an actual player. If anything, this just shows that hook suiciding needs to be dealt with rather than making the game largely unplayable by letting people rage quit whenever they feel like.
-
Survivors are a team of 4. The killer is a team of 1. It would be more unfair if survivors could reliably deny hooks by themselves, needing another survivor to help is part of the balance. Otherwise, wiggling also exists to limit how far a killer can take a survivor so not every hook is a basement hook.
-
It's a mix of both.
On killers you haven't played, it'll use some average of all your other killers mmr and sort you over the next few games. Once mmr settles on that killer, then it'll be it's own mmr separate from your other killers.
There's also a system added where coming back to the game after not playing for sometime will increase mmr gain/loss for a the few matches.
This is at least what BHVR has said about the system.

Does it have to be though? I don't see why
Killer Instinct in uncounterable. It makes sense being tied directly to a killer's power as survivor perks should have very little effect against a power. Not so much on a perk.
-
A problem I see is that some killer powers have counterplay by throwing the pallet early. Demogorgon, Leatherface, Oni for examples. If they had access to a perk where if a survivor throws a pallet it auto-breaks, then it just means their powers will guaranteed to hit.
-
Some people can only dish BM, but cannot take what they dish out.
-
The minute the devs start removing content from the game is when people will feel justified in asking for the removal of stuff they don't like.
-
Survivors can fight to deny hooks in the same way Killers can fight to deny unhooks.

calm spirit has a heavy downside ultimate weapon didnt on top you needed distorsion and you still gets blinded now it aint broken having 2 perks to halve nullify one perk
The downside of calm spirit is massively overrated. Hexes are not common, you don't have to bring a boon if you are bringing calm spirit, and looting chests isn't that important when you can bring items with addons into trial.

Adrenaline got nerfed even though Terminus counters it
Yes. I brought it up bc op mentioned it. A counter perk existing isn't enough for bhvr to leave perks that are a little too strong.
-
ultimate weapon got nerfed even though calm spirit countering it.
Adrenaline has always been a strong perk and even after this change it's still good.
-
BHVR just pushed out an engine update. It was bound to break many things.
-
Every single time killer meta got nerfed, the next meta gets complained about more than the previous one.
-
Just run escape cakes then
-
@ChaosWam said:
Did everyone just use adrenaline to heal off hook? The only times I faced it is when they pop a gen in my face and get fully healed.
People are acting like the heal off hook is some big issue that comes up all the time. The strongest aspect of Adrenaline, a free instant heal, still exists. Not to mention survivors can just 99% the final gen, get the unhook, and then pop the gen.
-
It's always weird to me how much players of DBD want to not play DBD.
DC penalties exist, because when they don't people just leave games for whatever reason and it makes trying to get legit matches nearly impossible.
