Where's my Myers-style instamori after a certain amount of hooks? Or how about no hooks? Just give it to killers at baseline. Does that seem too overpowered to you? Not to me. It's no more overpowered than hatch is.

Unashamedly I will say, "Yes. I do want the 4k all the time." Doesn't everybody? Don't all survivors want to escape every time? Of course we want those things. It's more a question of did we deserve it? "Could I have gotten that last kill?" In many circumstances, yes. Could a lone survivor have escaped by doing all the gens and opening the exit gates while there are 4 gens left? Not on your life. So why do they get a free escape? Why do they get a comeback factor and killers don't?

You could say NOED or Blood Warden can be used to make a comeback. But those are perks, whereas hatch is built into the game. If no gens get done and there's one survivor left alive, they STILL have a chance to escape.

The common argument is "killers have an equal chance to find the hatch and close it". It doesn't change the fact that there's a chance the survivor escapes when they likely shouldn't have. And that's not the end of it either because once hatch is closed the gates get powered for some reason.

Another argument defending hatch is, "But if there's no chance to escape, why shouldn't the survivor just hide?" If the killer gets tired of the survivor taking the game hostage, he should be able to open the exit gate AT ANY TIME. Please implement this. It's a compromise solution. It doesn't get rid of hatch but it ends one of its negative symptoms.

The EGC should also trigger after the last gen gets done. Another great solution. That makes the EGC an actual threat to the survivors, instead of 2 full minutes of overtime where they can rescue their hooked teammate as easily as any other time in the game. They're pressured to open the exit gates and run out, before time runs out. It's a buff to Blood Warden? So what? That's still a fringe perk anyway that could be played around by 99ing the gates.

I'm not kidding about my initial idea for a killer's hatch. If you're not gonna remove hatch, at least give killers an equivalent. 5 hooks or so into the game: the killer gets to mori someone. It's a shortcut just like hatch, because you can use a key to open it before all the gens are done. "But we can't tell how many hooks someone is on!" Add a hook counter below the survivor section of the UI! It's that easy!

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Hate to tell you, but killer already survives every match.

Click bait. Just kidding. (Ignore the weird ranks, it was a 4-man SWF)

Seriously, though, it got to the point that I was moonwalking from one gen to another because I could tell they all had it after a few episodes of seeing everyone scatter off a gen when I was standing far away in a corn field. 🀣

Do people really like it that much? Been seeing it more and more lately.

As surv I always run it, and as killer I find myself more and more looking like 90 degrees away when I think it's there.

    Good job with that 4k!

One of the major reasons why killer is so imbalanced and weak is because of lack of a clear defined objective. Devs have stated that they supposedly try to balance for 2ks, but it's very easy to depip even with a 3k as shown below

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/303/BQ4IPBOJKYJN.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/801/F8Q0O42OVC38.jpg

If survivors' main objective is to do gens and escape and those award the most points and are the easiest way to pip, why is killing survivors not the main objective of the killer since the point system and the pip system does not reflect that?

Now you may bring up the point of hooking players and people suiciding on hook / dying on 1 hook, but that's the thing, the supposed point of the killer is to kill, and the devs have stated they're aiming for a 2k average, the point system and the pip system for killers does not reflect this at all.

Judging by the way the point system is set up for killer currently, the current objective for killers is to chase survivors, not kill them. I believe this is the main issue killers have, the devs have told the community that the objective of the killer is to kill, but they have balanced the game around the killer chasing survivors, not killing them.

I think depip is one of the main objectives also, as it keeps you playing in fun games especially with fun builds.

Not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying SWF combined with the game being balanced around solo play is the problem. Though large maps are a pain for some killers, it is exacerbated by coordinated groups of survivors. If you are facing the average group of solo survivors on Fractured Cowshed and getting owned, it's not due to the map. That map becomes a problem when it's a SWF.

Furthermore, if you actually read my post you would see I am calling for buffs to killers and solo survivor as well as tweaks to those loops in order to balance them.

I don't get the blind emotional bias that affects the reading comprehension of so many on this forum.

You said those maps when played by four man swf groups are enough to prevent the 4k. If this is only true for some maps, then that is what is meant by the term "survivor sided map".

  • @Warlock_2020 said:

Kill rate is still over 50%. I would not count that as survivor sided. Pig tree is all in how you play it. There are a lot if unsafe loops on that map and 2 strong loops. I like when the pig tree is in the middle because it's easier to peel off and hit unsuspecting survivors on a nearby gen.

Think like a survivor on that map and you'll find yourself liking it more.

Just throwing this out there, the safest map says right there it is over 50%, but consensus reality is that some maps favor survivors.

    so by the same logic:

if i use the strongest killer with their strongest add ons and the strongest offering, screw up somewhere in the game and only end up getting a 2k, that means all of what i just used is perfectly fine and balanced, as i got 2 kills - the devs balance goal.

or when i massively screw up and only get 1 kill, that means all of what i just used is underpowered and needs buffs, as the balance goal is 2 kills.

    see the flawed logic there?

the outcome of my game does not determine the power level of the things i used.

its the exact same with this scenario: the outcome of the game does not determine whether the gen popping 27 seconds in was balanced or not.

    thats two entirely different stories.

Lol nice straw man you're arguing with, what'd you name him?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1163052#Comment_1163052

Take this thread as an example. I wanted to make the point that killers should have an early game so they have time to settle into the match and set up while saying your average player can't deal with 1 gen being done in 27 seconds. Hence I linked a video to show this so people wouldn't say "YoU HaVe No PrOof".

And around 90% of the comments are basically : "HE got a 4k so why are YOU complaining"

    Or

"I'm going to try to get you banned because I don't agree with your opinion"

While this behaviour is exactly the things people point to when they say the dbd community is one of the worst..that's a different thread to be made by a different person who possibly studies psychology or sociology

there's some that actually read the original post ...as there always is. But It's worse than my previous thread where it was simply asking for an early game while making the endgame a little weaker. And the only major difference in the two is that one of them had a linked video.

Linking videos to provide a visual stimulus to your point shouldn't be looked down upon, and to respond to the oh so common reply of "they got a 4k" - of course they did. They wouldn't upload a 2k or a 1k because that doesn't make for interesting content. The survivor "equivalent" is cutting to the next game after you die or escape. Nobody cares about how the rest of the game goes they're only interested in the content creator playing.

Most streamers don't cut out games where they don't 4k just like they don't cut out games where they get sacrificed. If they got a 4k what's the problem? If gen times were longer would that have prevented them from getting the 4k? I don't know why people are complaining about it unless they just never play survivor and just want to 4k on 5 gens every game. Just start all the survivors on hooks at that point.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1163052#Comment_1163052

which, again, has nothing to do with the main topic.

the topic is that they repaired a gen in 27 seconds. the outcome of the match is a completely different story - and ive seen the video, they literally threw the game.

It does in that it doesn't seem like there's a problem.

  • @Mister_xD said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1162226#Comment_1162226

which has nothing to do with the main topic of them repairing a gen in less than 30 seconds.

but yeah the fact that in the end the killer won negates that whole thing.

Killer didn't just "win", 4k with gens left is "win and..." territory.

This was a badham, They got 4 and a half gens done before I got a down and my power.

I then played out of my mind and barley got 2 dead and regressed all the gens.

Then someone dcd, allowing one to escape and I get a black pip and 2 kills to my record.

This isn't bannable and survivors do it every game.

This can literally guarantee at least 1 escapes almost every game and hasn't been fixed, despite having been brought to attention multiple times.

DC penalties dont fix this as good survivors can do it the once or twice they lose a day.

So please explain to me again how you dont favor survivors?

I don't understand, you trounced them. What are you complaining about? Also dcing is bannable unless whatever platform you are on doesn't have dedicated servers yet. You got more bloodpoints, you killed all but one survivor, and you got to depip, you win in every sense of the word.

  • @leyzyman said:

Is this what dbd is supposed to be like...

I've been thinking about this in the back of my mind for a while. The way we are treated by the devs just isnt right. It's their game, yes. But if they want to sell their product, they should listen to us.

Think about it, before flashlights were needed a while ago, insta-blinds were a thing. It took a Developer getting humiliated on stream to get them changed.

Let's look at these problems we are facing now due to game mechanics:

For survivors: killers that are tunneling and camping them on the hook. Making the enjoyment of others nearly impossible because they die on hook 1 from no one being able to rescue. The fact that slugging is so rampant; I understand when there are survivors nearby or the generators are close, but when people are slugging and doing 1 hooks, that isnt really a fair thing. Some survivors are even so toxic, they attack their fellow survivors and ruin their games; purposely blowing up gens, dropping all pallets, sandbagging, purposely leading killers to them, ect.. The problem with moris being strong enough to cut survivors down a hook state.

For killers: Survivors are running rampant with the gen times, as it is possible (I've had it happen) to get a gen done before the game can recognize it. Meanwhile, the killer is still walking to that part of the map. People constantly t-bagging at the killer and harassing them. All the 2nd chance perks being attacked can make you (at best case scenario) swing 17 times per survivor for 3 survivor (I did calculations in another post a while ago. I can make a post explaining my math later if requested). If you want a 4k, it is almost mandatory to slug. Sometimes, having a 4k game and not popping. Rampant swf games.

There are a lit more problems like bugs, exploits, wait times, ect.. I just dont want this to last forever.

Why is it that these things just keep running rampant, and either 1 thing gets fixed or they add a perk to fix it, and inevitably change it later to not fix it? From what I've witnessed, the devs refuse to change and listen, on top of not knowing their own game

Humans are like this. They have ideas of what should be done. They want their product the way they want it. But, they wont listen to most ideas that aren't easy bandaid-fixes.

Remember earlier I mentioned that it took a dev getting humiliated on stream for an issue to be fixed? How bad do you have to be at your OWN GAME to get decimated that badly. And with more options, it just keeps getting out of hand.

I challenge the main devs of the game. Each make a rank 10 and a rank 1 accounts. Give all perks and all items with all addons. Play both sides, and so some solo and some swf games. Do not say "hey, we are testing by playing games" and go in blind. Use new accounts. You do not "play for fun" but play to pip. You want to win.

You will face anything. It could be a killer who is friendly, is farming, or facecamps you. It could be survivors that are clueless or are coordinated. You could get teammates who are good, terrible, or evil. By the end of the day, you will see everything currently wrong in this game.

Why am I doing this, and probably gonna get in trouble: because I love the game's idea. It is such a blast, but the way it is treated it is destined to fail. And obviously, the devs dont see eye to eye.

I am not talking to people like @Peanits, I mean the higher ups. The people who make the call on this game. They NEED to see how bad this game is on both ends. They need to experience the 20-30 minute cue times as a solo survivor. They need to see how bad 150 ping really is. They need to have 3 gens go off after 1 chase. They need to feel how as a rank 10 killer, you still face off against red ranks. They need to suffer like us, and understand what we mean all the time.

Damn, where is the "vote down" button? This isn't an e-sport, they should be playing for fun.

I never post YouTube links to channels since I don't like looking like I'm trying to kiss the behind of a youtuber. However after seeing this video I had to make an exception. Please watch the video because it explains its point quite well. If you don't read the rest of this I understand, I'm just giving my opinion on the matter.

The amount of times people who complain about tunneling, camping, slugging, t-bagging, gen rushing or body blocking is absurd. It blows my mind how I'm playing against a red rank player and they don't understand how this game works.

Example: As a survivor I have a gen nearly done. The killer has moments ago just hooked a survivor and is coming towards my gen. I don't want to risk pop goes the weasel so I take the hit and finish the gen. I then get downed later and face camped for being toxic. They also message me after the game complaining about abusing an infinite even though they have bamboozle. If the played survivor at high ranks they would see why I did what I did.

Another example: I down a survivor and slug them. There are 2 gens left and 3 survivors left. One of the 3 survivors has a key they brought into the trial. I know that if I hook this survivor I've just downed the hatch will spawn. I decide to slug them, I then find the survivor with the key and down them. After hooking them (they were on death hook) they message me after the game complaining about slugging and how I'm getting reported. This is a rank 3 survivor btw. They are nearly the best possible rank a survivor can be in this game, which should suggest they have mastered this game but they aren't any better than a green rank in all honestly. I explained what why I slugged in that game but they just didn't want to listen.

If a survivor does a gen in my face I understand why they would. If the killer starts slugging because I have a key I understand why. If I hook a survivor and I check the last 3 gens and see they have no progress, I'd hope the survivors would understand why id return to the hook.

I don't think enough people understand why killers or survivors play the way they do. Honeslty I hope more people try to learn and understand both sides properly so they can see why players may play a certain way. This is a post to not try and cause any fight but to try and lessen the toxicity within this community.

Consider that a red rank as one role could be rank 20 in the other.

I don't get why people don't play both sides, it makes you way better and makes a bad match much less frustrating. Keep fighting the good fight against toxicity.

I don't have Franklin's unlocked so I used an Ebony to counter it. I don't get why people think that using flashlights and keys are ok, so when killer uses something similar it's a sin.

You should report them if all four has flashlights and then one also had a key, sounds like cheating, at least the one with two items.

  • @Nobsyde said:

a PSA especially true for console players, not used to dedicated servers:

killers, when you dodge a lobby the survivors will remain waiting for a killer with precedence over anybody else.

this means that if you try to rejoin a lobby immediately, you will most probably join the same survivors, over and over again.

solution: don’t lobby dodge, or just turn off the game.

    -a fellow killer

It does not work out this way. With queue times being what they are, those survivors get the next killer and then when you make it back to queue you instantly get a different group! Until more people start queueing as killer, or until all killers start dodging a given group, the ball is in the killers' court for dodging.

All of the best perks don't have a cooldown on them. DS, BT, adrenaline, DH, and unbreakabill. What about killer though? Infectious, Pop, Stbfl, Barbecue, Devour hope. Im not really angry with this, but its very annoying that this is becoming a tread with the game. Anyways, thanks for reading!

It's true, one shot perks don't have a cooldown, but it's because, wait for it, they can't be used again.

  • @mmain said:

The thing I've noticed is if there are 2 or more survivors still alive when the gates activate it's highly likely there will be a pretty decent amount of distance between them and the hatch will likely be a decent amount of distance from either. However, if there is only 1 survivor alive when the gates activate the chances are extremely high the gates are gonna be within a few meters of each other and the hatch is probably going to be within a few meters of one of the gates.

I've started carrying keys into a lot of my matches for just that reason. I don't even attempt to use them unless I run into that exact situation. If I'm the last survivor, the killer has closed the hatch and the doors have spawned so close together that there is no chance I'm going to be able to get one open you better believe I'm gonna use that key.

If the doors spawn far enough apart that I at least have a chance to get one open I will give it a shot and either escape through the door or get killed. It's only those times when the doors are way too close together that I use a key.

Mind blown here, does that mean you can use the gate spawns to predict the outcome of the match and the hatch spawn? I need to start scoping out exit gates earlier lol

Hey devs if we could go ahead and remove hatch key or change what it does that would be great. I'm tired of being well on my way to a 3 or 4k and then watching the hatch icon appear out of no where in the in the left corner. I'm a rank 9 and just had 4 red ranks against the ropes only to watch them all escape cause one magically found a key. I think it's a little unbalanced that even though they didn't complete their objective three of them escaped. Two were DOH one was second phase and the other was dead already. So even though I was doing ok at the least I still get punished? Come on devs I love this game but some one needs to start putting some elbow grease into all the unbalanced bs in this game. And of course it's not just the killer side of things. There needs to be some major changes to both sides. Survs shouldn't get punished with NOED because they did well or facecamped and tunneled because they slapped the killer one time. Or even mori'd cause they got hooked once. It all makes for boring unfun games.

If they had 4 gens done, it's not like they weren't doing their objective, and not to mention that the most likely key you'll find doesn't open the hatch. If you want unfair, I just started using a new nurse build for when I don't want to have to pay attention. It uses rancor and insidious; I can hang out in the exit gates and even if my obsession has played a perfect game, I still get to one shot him and kill him by my own hands without having to hook him or anything. I'm glad I haven't gotten too much salt about it, but it is a great example of getting rewarded for doing nothing.

I just dont understand the idea behind bringing a breakable wall in killer shack. It is completely unnecessary given it's a wonderful design and the loop is decent within it and not at all OP. Just for the record, once the pallet is down you eliminate strong loops so why would you insert a breakable wall then as u have just killed the fun inside of the shack. Please reconsider this and I hope sincerely other maps having killer shack not to resemble this new Mao's one. Otherwise, I am afraid that I will be leaving this game cuz Dead by Daylight has lost its iconic design and killed the fun in the game. Please let me have your thoughts on this. I highly doubt BHVR will gut his base kit like that. They've been quoted as saying Billy is their blueprint for balanced killers. These toxic, entitled survivor mains either need to learn to cancel his power by looping, or uninstall. I'd actually prefer the second option. The game would be better off without babies like them.

First thing I thought when I saw the topic was "is there some bug or ptb add-on that gives no cool down?" Lol. Billy has a cooldown that feels like ages when you are him. He can't do anything but walk during it too. If you think something is OP, just play that instead. If nothing else it gives you insight into how to counterplay.

Would just mean more options for your input of choice. Its no different than when people buy fancy controllers 3rd party controllers, only this time...you could simply go to a thrift shop and buy a cheap kb/m if you want just like PC players have the choice of using either.

Oh man, I hate that. My buddy got a mod kit for his controller, and I'm lucky I'm on his team because it is straight up cheating in FPS games. I tell him all the time he's cheating and he'd be pissed if someone else was doing it to him. It's got recoil adjustment and full auto for any weapon, as well as quickscoping bs. I hear people can get kits that let them use a kb and m on any console game, but some games like Apex ban folk for that. I came to console to get away from tryhards, but I guess if a tryhard tries hard enough, they can cheat the system to get those ub3r l33t pwns on console too.

I tried playing DBD on xbox last week and my god...I couldnt stand playing killer on a controller, lol. Im use to playing red ranks on PC, but playing as a fresh rank 20 Billy on console...-chills-

I really hope they don't lol. I like everyone being on more even footing on console. Keyboard and mouse means tryhards will be able to try much harder.

Most matches I've come across, my own survivor teammates super toxic to the killer, who didn't do anything wrong in my eyes. This one trapper, he was doing his killer thing. At the end of the game suffered teabagging and plenty of abuse in game chat. Why? All because he used Franklin's.. and because he used Franklin's, they lost their purple med-kit and purple toolboxes (maybe SWF?).. and they decided his mother should get ill.

Quite disturbing. Sure "it's the internet" or "don't be a snowflake", that's not an excuse, if you think it is, then you're part of the problem. It's pretty sad. I try my best to be nice to everyone, killer and survivor alike. But even I sometimes fall for killers or toxic teammates winding me up. If only everyone actually actively tried to be 'better'.

I'm expecting this post to get responses just as negative and miserable as the game chat lol. But who knows, maybe there are DBD players out there that agree with me. Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts. Feel free to ignore.

Hey man, just keep fighting the good fight. If enough people treat people with respect, maybe it'll catch on.

This perk is completely fine and punishes survivors for ignoring totems. You failed to cleanse the totems, you pay the price.

This perk isn’t even good to begin with either, as it can be taken out before ever being put into use, while other perks in the hex category are far better and Devour Hope literally gives out a greater reward. So asking for this perk to nerfed is gonna be like Freddy 1.0 all over again to be nerfed, asking for someone who wasn’t even op to begin with to be nerfed because you want an easier game.

If you throw out the stupid β€œThIs pErK iS oNlY cOuNtEReD eAsIlY bY sWf”, then use small game or detectives hunch, as those 2 perks, and even detectives, counters every hex perk in the game pretty much.

People are not wanting noed nerfed all of a sudden. This forum is like 40% killers complaining about bt, adrenaline, etc., 40% complaining about noed, 15% people complaining about the 'us versus them' mentality here, and 5% general discussion. The beef between the bloods and the crips is over whether noed is balanced or not. Archaeogists have unearthed ancient burial tombs with hieroglyphics inscribed on the walls calling for nerfs for noed. The Amazon Rainforest is actually a post in braille talking about how op noed is, and the fact that humans keep deleting parts of it is why bad things happen.

i'm gonna miss that disconnect sound as a killer. so satisfying.

First of all this is my 200th discussion so let me celebrate it if I may:

    Yeeiiiii πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Onto the topic. What is your favorite perk for both survivor and killer and why?

For me: spine chill and Franklin's demise.

Spine chill has saved my lil Ash so many times, especially when I started playing the game. S tier for me

Franklin's demise is just a really annoying perk to go against and slows down the game. If I see 4 items in the lobby then they bet they gonna have a bad time finding them :3

What about you? Let me know down below!!!!!!!

Hope to see you on the fog!!!

I would have said spine chill, but let's say calm spirit instead. It straight up counters spies from the shadows, infectious fright, the entirety of the doctor, and half of Freddy and clown. Plus I use crows to track the killer and survivors, so it's nice to know that they aren't giving me away.

As far as killer perks, surveillance is easily my favorite. It gives up to the second intel on survivor locations from any range, but most importantly, the extra range you can hear the gen from makes the game so much easier. That doesn't even account for it's hot new synergy with ruin, which I used to pass on for most of my killers but now Billy is basically the only one not running ruin.

  • @dbizzle said:

if you can place a trap in the grass that a survivor cant see , and they're looking for it and still get trapped , that is unbalanced gameplay. what can a survivor do. they creep to the hook but then SNAP get caught in a trap they literally couldn't see. this needs to end.

The prompt to disarm it pops up when you're close.

  • @MrGummeBear said:

How much fun it is going against a AFK wraith or play against a killer that you make give I'm talking 2 Gens left give up make them stand in a Corner and they don't dc.

Survivors do you still have fun if the Killer just stops playing? No Chases, No Unhooks,Talking nothing not even a hit to heal.

And that, ladies and gents, is what's called begging the question.

  • @lunaticlifter said:

Imho i tried out antigen build, but they simply don't work... it's just a placebo effect, the only close thing to old ruin is Pop, but it doesn't work on many killers.. wanna know what's my best way to get a ''fun'' and a decent lenght game? slug a lot with infectous fright.. but hey in the game there is a perk who counter slugging aka Unbreakable.. so my best way to win or get a chance is a mix with slugging, tunneling and proxy camping(to punish late saves).. So my conclusion? games are not fun anymore, with ruin i could play nice, have a fun game and get only 2k, but that doesn't matter, i care more about fun than winning, this is not a competitive game. The saddest thing is that you can get genrushed even by potatoes now... and no, adjusting toolboxes will not fix this issue. That's my conclusion.

Dude you should try ruin. It's so good after the buff.

  • @poli said:

i wish we could do something about all the whining and complaining that goes on.....man up amd get good at the game

Ya they really need to nerf complaining. It's unbalanced in it's current state, since people who like the game have no reason to comment.

  • @darknahu said:

He knows your location. So he can tunnel and camping you easily.

You can't save your Allies, cause with his shocks he knows you are coming

He change your skill check. So for new people It's so difficult.

You can't be silent, you can't vault, you can't drop pallet, you need to snap out of it, you can't rescue, skill check zones are different.

I read so many post about this Killer, It's broken.

    It really needs a rework.

Calm spirit works pretty well, against him. I've been running it since they buffed it.

Never had a totem ever spawn in unreachable spots I think you need to fix your game because you are WRONG

I'm not. No need to yell, you'll see complaints about it all the time in noed threads. People were really complaining about it during tome 1 when there were challenges to break totems and break totems in one game.

Also, fix my game how? Like get a CS degree, patiently keep applying at bhvr while working entry level CS jobs to get work experience to bolster my resumΓ©, and then hopefully one day, have the ability to fix these totem spawns so I can quit and go back to playing? That sounds like not only a long shot, but a large burden to put on me. I propose you fix my game sir if you think it's a problem.

    Thanks in advance!

Wrong good survivors will ensure that never comes into play therefore not a true second chance perk.

Wrong, totems spawn in inaccessible spots all too often. Even barring that, unless they are on comms then each 'good' survivor won't know if totems are done until it is too late.

  • @Imsuperbrad said:

So basically I am a fairly decent survivor and killer, green ranks on both usually red but I haven't been playing as much tbh. Anyways coming out of a survivor game a killer says this

    Me:ggs

    Killer: jaja ggs nice bm

    Me: ?

    Killer: ?

Killer: Glasses fatty (I'm the jake with glasses) crouched a few times

Killer: Midrise hatchets can't go thru it tho

    Me: Oh your upset.

    Killer: HAAAAAAAAAAAA

    Killer: HAAAAAAAAAAAA

Killer: But anyhow you're the loser.

He continues to say how ######### I am and how he is a new killer that I "BM'd" cause looping is a BM apparently/

This happened almost every game of surv or killer someone says how ######### I am. Why? I do nothing to incite this ever, I guess how I can see how I set the killer above off but otherwise it confuses me. Why can't ppl just take their loss and move on? Why does every post game chat have to be a freakin war zone?

There's plenty of good on both sides. I hope this community keeps getting better. In the meantime maybe just Dodge postgame chat?

If we’re talking about him complaining about DH through a trap, and it not working most of the time? No, there’s nothing wrong with it. Latency causes the issue with it not working, not the perk itself. The perk is a counter to damage, which is does perfectly fine. It’s really not that great of a perk and even when used against me I still catch the person unless the execute it to a vault or pallet then they just bested me. I’m literally not going to complain about a balanced perk simply because it beat me once.

So the thing wrong with it is that it doesn't work most of the time.

  • @StardustSpeedway said:

I have my own terms of how I play killer and follow them very closely. For me, it doesn't matter if I win or lose, or if I get a toxic SWF. It's about staying true to my terms on how I rate a match. I don't expect to win every game and I'm fine with everyone escaping as long as I pressured them. I play 'low' tier killers like Trapper and Clown and I'm doing fine in red ranks. I am currently rank 1 for killer and sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. I'm OK with it. It's just like when I play survivor (solo). It's the luck of the draw and you won't know what you get. Just gotta deal with the hand you're dealt!

Nice positivity! I'm glad to see it.

  • @LustForBP said:

There’s nothing wrong with DH in its current state. Most of the time it doesn’t even work appropriately. It’s a timing perk that leads to exhaustion and if done wrong costs you as a Survivor anyways.

    Next.

Is there nothing wrong with it or does it not work most of the time?

    @CrispyChestnuts

I think you should read up on the lore a bit more, as the killers are suffering as much as the survivors by the Entity’s hand.

If you do what you love, you'll never suffer by the entity's hand a day in your life

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

As said on stream, the reasons as to why Ruin is still a Hex perk, is because:

    1. Hag’s perks are all Hex perks
    2. If it wasn’t, it would need to be toned down

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

The second reason I understand, because Hexes are meant to be powerful perks that can be lost.Β

That being said, I would much prefer Ruin being a standard perk and regress at the normal rate. As it would be much more consistently useful throughout the whole game.

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

However, the first reason is nonsensical. DBD is not a narrative driven experience.

It’s a 4 vs 1 survival game, story elements should always take a backseat when it’s for the better of gameplay.

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

As far as what I would do, for Ruin and Third Seal while we’re at it, I’d change them to this:

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

    Ruin (No Longer a Hex)

Whenever a Generator is not being repaired by a Survivor, it will immediately and automatically regress its Repair progress atΒ 90/95/100% of the normal Regression speed.

Third Seal (No Longer a Hex)

Hitting a survivor applies the Blindness Status Effect for a duration of 80/85/90 secondsΒ

    β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

This permits both to be useful throughout the entirety of the game, while having much less prominent effects.

Dbd is a narrative driven experience. That's why killer always wins regardless of how the match goes, and survivors always lose even if they survive.

  • @cacao1 said:

It would be cool after the match that the killer can award one survivor for great gameplay or any other reason he wants to award the survivor: the award would be a notification and a small bonus of 3000BP and so for the killer 3000BP if he awards someone. It could also be possible that the awards are displayed just like in Overwatch so people seeing that this person is awarded often because of fair play they will want to get such awards too and behave. But ONLY positive awards no negative awards, because there would be trolls who would on pupose collect negative awards if there are any. If the killer thinks there was no fair play in this game he can simple not award anyone. Disconnects could also count to the stats as a big malus to the awards.

We can even make that so the killer can award multiple people but ofcourse without personal gain of to many BP.

If the system would be implemented well and there is a similar system for the killer one could also sort people by their behavior-stats (pun intended) and match them together, so fair people play together and toxic people play also together.

I really think that is very wholesome and could be cool if people would try to collect the good behavior badges (agian pun intended)

I like the idea of awards, idk about the bp/shard numbers but bhvr could play around with those.
