Ideal and balanced killer for most Survivor mains is something like Trapper, Freddy, etc.
-
Who cares?
-
Nope, he feels now pretty nice, good update overall. Still Survivors were putting a good fight and at no point I felt oppresive with him nor weak.
-
They nerfed like 5 key elements to his power significantly for 1-2 small buffs I quess.
-
Anyone who claims that devs are only one-sided clearly either:
- Doesn't read patch notes or dev blogs so they have no idea
- Are blind and want live in their own bubble of reality
Devs are not one sided. Yes, they sometimes make patches that have more changes for one-side than the other, but they are never one-sided. If you would take your time and dig up past patch notes, you would find that they were plenty of updates for killers and survivors. Each side of course has their own bucket of problems, sometimes things get better and sometimes they don't because new problems rise thanks to some not great changes or new toys.
Examples: I dislike how the Knight update seems pretty Survivor sided since they just focused on fixing issues survivor dislike about his power while giving him almost nothing equal to compensete for these heavy nerfs. On the other side, they buffed several killers recently (even tho not in a big way most of them but still…), they made serveral perks better for each side, etc.
Also you can't blame devs on player's behavor. On both side, they is % of players who act like #########.

Yea I dont understand people who use VPN to bypass location just to buy cheaper games and currency. This is directly againts Steam rules and they risk banning your whole account if they find out. This also hurts the locals because this pushes steam and publishers to increase the regional price to combat this.
-
Pretty much zero.
-
This is effect of "Wow let me grind for free items while having 200-500% extra BP lets go".

POV: You come too close to your own Guard
-
If you would look at these changes from viewpoint of Survivors: Great, he is weaker, less oppresive in chase and cant drop guards quick in chase on you and he cant effectively chase you much with them anyway together. Great update guys!
From the player playing the Knight: "I dont want to play with you anymore." Picks different killer

So basicly she always get stacks now? No matter if you have a tape in your hand or not?
You will only get condement stack if you:
- Are within ONLINE TV within 16 meter range WHEN SHE TELEPORTS anytime (If you are on gen, turn it off, take one condement if you have to so she can't spam condement on you very fast).
- Turn off her ONLINE TV while holding the Tape (not for the first time you pick a new tape)
- If someone who has tape gets hooked, everyone gets 1 condement stack (Add-on only)
You pick a tape whenever you can from online TV. You hold it until you have some stacks or she is after you with some stacks. You go to your TV, you make sure she isn't 4m within you (not hard usualy) and you just put midle finger on her as she watches you vanish all your stacks.
-
You pick a tape from the start of the match.
Once she is on you And you have some stacks of condement, run towards the TV you have to put the Tape in.
Unless she is like 4m within you, she cant do #########.
It takes 1 second to remove the tape, its insane. Unless she is right next to you, you are fine. Just trow pallet or vault a window if she is too near and you are fine. That nerf rly hurt her, it used to be 2 seconds to remove it.
She is S tier noob stomper againts clueless team, and C tier againts good Survivors, you Will never get moried pretty much againts good Survivor.
-
UI and Knight changes are awfull.
The rest is okay. Glad Singu got some love.
-
I will wait for reviews and for the game to come out and then see if its worth it. Pro tip: Never preorder any game.
-
The Yui skin feels bit out of place, kinda strange. Like I can understand it on killers but on Survivors? Don't know how to feel about that.
-
I feel like they increased the cooldown quite a bit. It feels bad.
-
What is this, this is golden xD

I mean you do you, i'm not linking DBD to the BHVR account either because it means that if you unlink it, you lose all progress you've made while it was linked.
However, it's asking to link your platform and twitch, which means it won't affect your game data should anything happen because linking your platform to the bhvr account can't affect your games the same way it would be able to if you were to link the account directly to the games instead.
Wait, rly? So you don't have to link DbD with BHRV account to get the drops? I thought you have to to earn the drops (to make you link your game account with theirs).

That wasn't from linking the platform that caused that issue back then, that was from linking DBD.
I mean yea, the point is there was some issue with this when you linked it and I am not trusting that, I dont want to risk all save file from 7+ years being deleted and then hope 3 weeks to reply from Customer support to refund the BP and then spend 20 hours in bloodweb xD
-
I am not linking BHVR account with Steam and the cloud just to get drops, sorry.
They rly want your data hard if they cant just make it like every other game with drops just linking your platform account (steam, blizzard, epic, etc.). There was in the past some issue that players had once they linked the account with BHVR they lost all saves, not risking even 0.01% chance.
-
Nope, not interested and I played all her recent trilogy games few years back and I like the character but I am just not interested in 4646th Survivor with another 46461th perk that I will not use 99% of the time.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
I won't be playing him. Can't anti-loop or chase with your guards, so what's the point? Please someone explain how his new design will make him better. 🍿
Same as many Killer design updates, they want to adress the issues Survivors have with the killer and then on second place give maybe something to the player who plays that Killer.
Chucky and now Knight is perfect recent example: Lets nerf what Survivors cry about and give him something small in return but ultimately making him weaker and worse for the player who plays him.
As for Knight new gameplay, outside of camping gens and annoy survivors from distance I dont see a point in his power at all. His chase is gone.
-
Dont forget Chucky awfull trade off changes.
-
Big nerf.

@BillsCigarette said:
Why is Hillbilly S tier? You say to me he's as or almost as strong as the Nurse?
Unlike Blight, his power has pretty much no cooldown, has overheat mode which just makes him even more stronger and can instadown you pretty effectively and can snowball hard.
-
Pyramid Head? More like tunneling head 99% of matches.
-
Knight is bad now, no chase power, just stale the game with guards on gens or spam Assasin all over again on gens to get hit while being useless M1 in regular chase.
IU will be ugly in future too, just bit better ugly.
Rest is cool.
-
Free win for the killer unless they dont trow the match somehow.
-
He can be good but sometimes you feel hopeless. Survivors can totaly have lot of windows to counter you if they try but you can still do some damage.
High B tier or bottom A if you master him.
-
Unless she will have pickrate and power level of current Freddy, everyone will just hate her and give up againts her out of pure spite.
I find her current version fine but I am minority here and I am pretty sure she will end up being weaker killer.
I knew why I didnt want to level her up for cakes anyway because I knew she will be gutted.
-
I think I reached a point that they will be very FEW licenses that would excitime me, Lara (while played her games and enjoyed them all) isn't one of them. Outside that one vault perk, I don't see myself using any of them outside maybe some special build.
-
Frozen skin line, we only got 3 skins from this collection (Artist, Spirit and Ghostie)
-
wait, today is PTB?!
-
@AggressiveFTW said:
This community is so dramatic. It's a test server for a reason. Stop crying and instead make a thread in the PTB Feedback section after testing the PTB and share your opinion. These type of threads needs to stop.
You think when devs put out blogpost with rundown of big changes that will be tested (and possible be in Live game in future), that people will just be silent or don't express their opinions on them? If you see a change that you are pretty sure its bad, you should be silent just to wait out on PTB? Come on now.

@FrenchBagels said:
The way you described him here is exactly how he will still function, and in fact, match that role even better. It seems like you’re not a fan of Knight plopping a guard at a loop and forcing M1.
No. You can't use your power in chase. You do not play coop chase play with your guards like buddies on LAN party or on discord to get that Survivor down together. Your buddy within few meters will just get yeeted to Oblivion before he will do anything.
Now you are just any other singleplayer killer with no chase power that can just waste time and gather info on Survivors from medium distance.
-
I want my scamper back. Just make it bit longer, thats it. Dont have to remove it. Maybe you could make it would eat like half the Power bar if you do that So you can't hold Power to angle yourself better if you bypass pallets.
-
Knight will have less gameplay since he can't use his power in chase, no metter how hard or not it was.
Also I mentioned like X killers yet you all just talk about Knight being easy. You missed the point of this post.
-
Yes, if these changes go live, Knight is D tier And there Is no Reason And desire to play him.

To clear this up real quick, you do not need to draw a 10m path to order a guard to break something. You can still summon a guard right next to a pallet or generator, and you can even be closer than before. This requirement is only for patrols.
Okay thats good but it Is still overall IMO big Nerf. If Guards at least got Faster And more lethal on their own when you have to summon them from longer distance at least they could Now secure a hit here And there. Like from 4.1 m/s to 4.3 m/s, etc.
Still, with 10 meters minimum range And 3x Faster timer when near a Guard, this effectively Killed his chase Power And makes him M1 loopable ezi Killer to VS.
I understand you guys want to remove the frustration from Survivors of him offten zooning And 2v1 easily Survivors but even Now at Live He Isnt oppresive or strong Killer. So you need to make him lethal in different way if chase Isnt IT anymore. He Will be Now Very weak.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/418102/knight-changes-sounds-like-a-big-nerf
This will be similar to the Chucky update where bad players say it's a nerf and good players say it's a buff. Also...why are you dismissing objective buffs as just qol, yes they are qol but they are still buffs?
The only buff Is you can switch Guards. The rest Is either change to make you long paths or allready existing addon that just add to base kit, thats not a buff directly speaking since you can allready do it Now.
So I quess Its nice that Knight Is Now M1 Killer in chase And only thing He can do Is annoy survivors from distance to Push them off the gen or something. Wow what a good Killer.
So lets change his identity And chase Power completely after 2 years of existince. He sounds like a D tier Killer Now.
He can hand shake with trapper And Freddy.
-
@bjorksnas said:
They should also give him a quick interact button you shouldn't need to activate your power and draw a line to a pallet or gen thats 2 feet away
Now you wont have to worry about it since it has to be 10 feet Away.

I'll jump in here and say, if we change a perk it's because we feel that it needs changing - one person does not have the power over changes. We listen to feedback from all parts of the community.
Please stop blaming Otz for game changes that you don't personally like, the man is a content creator, and a very good one. He creates content and gives feedback on the game, however that doesn't mean that his feedback is listened to above everyone else - we listen and read pretty much everything.
Best responce to someone blaming content creators for balance changes I ever saw. Big W.

What is annoying about this combo with Franklins that in SoloQ most people won't go back to pick up that item and you absolutely won't waste your time running around are where the icon is displeyed since that would just get you killed. Againts good survivors that are organized as a whole this combo is meh.

@Peanits said:
There's no short way to answer this, so apologies in advance for the long response. There's a couple reasons for this that I can shed some light on.
The biggest reason comes down to bandwidth and how some changes are more difficult to do than others. It's fairly easy for a designer to make number tweaks on their own, but bigger changes that affect how something works or looks requires support from other teams. To use Hillbilly as an example, replacing overheat with overdrive requires programming, audio, and VFX support to name a few. There's only so much time for these teams to work their magic in each update, and unfortunately bigger updates like Hillbilly's can sometimes be out of scope. That doesn't mean these sorts of updates can't happen, but it does mean that they may need to be pushed back until there's enough time for them. Number tweaks, meanwhile, are far easier to squeeze in and help fill the gap between larger changes.
That said, cranking up the numbers isn't always the right move: It's easy to change a number and make something stronger, but doing it in the wrong way can create unhealthy gameplay and/or remove counterplay. To take Pig as an example, increasing her ambush speed would undoubtedly make her stronger, but doing so would make it difficult if not impossible to avoid at certain loops. When a Survivor is zoned and stuck at a loop, Pig players will ambush one way to trick people into vaulting a pallet, then fake back the other way to hit them before they can vault back. This usually works in her favour on smaller loops as it leaves them with less time to react, though the Survivor still has an opportunity to predict whether or not she's going to mindgame and decide not to vault. Increasing her movement speed would not only make this more effective on larger loops, but also make it much easier to correct course if the Survivor did correctly call her bluff and get the hit anyway, as her increased speed would allow her to cover much more ground much quicker.
Increasing missed attack recovery speed is similarly risky on powers with high mobility. This is something we could see in action with the original PTB version of Chucky; even if the Killer missed their Slice & Dice attack, they'd find themselves close to the Survivor and ready to attack almost immediately after. This becomes problematic because even if the Survivor does dodge the hit, there's a good chance they'll get hit anyway, making it a lose-lose situation for them. It would be stronger, but not in a way that has a positive effect on gameplay.
To complicate things further, it's incredibly difficult to balance something equally across all skill levels by virtue of how their powers work. Some Killers thrive in the lower-mid range, others excel at the highest level. A Killer like Trapper will always be more effective in the lower to mid range where Survivors haven't quite clued in on where he's likely placed his traps, but may struggle against Survivors who know what to expect and can change their pathing on the fly. Likewise, a Killer like Nurse with a high skill ceiling may not do so well at the low end where Killers might have a harder time predicting Survivor movement (or simply struggle with aiming their blinks), but can dominate at the high end in the right hands.
This gets tricky because a Killer may already be balanced or even strong for some people, but lacking for others. To use Nurse as an example again, buffing her to be effective in the hands of new players would cause her to be way too strong in the hands of people who have mastered her. This same problem exists in reverse too, where buffing a Killer to the point that they're effective in the top end could make them much too strong for everyone else.
That doesn't make it impossible to change them, though! There are sometimes tweaks we can do to make a Killer stronger for some players, but not others. When Nemesis was introduced, we noticed that he typically performed well, but struggled a little in higher end matches. Interestingly, higher end Killers also used his Tentacle Strike more, causing them to reach higher mutation levels. This created an opportunity for us to buff his Mutation 3 Tentacle Strike, increasing his effectiveness in the higher end without having much of an effect on the lower end, reducing the gap. Similarly, changes that make a difficult Killer a little easier to play but not necessarily stronger (e.g. simplifying controls, improving visual feedback) - or lowering the skill floor - can help them perform better in the low end without impacting their performance in the higher end.
All this is to say that number tweaks can do a lot of good, but they can also do a lot of harm if done poorly. Pumping up some numbers can leave them in a better spot for some and worse for others. Ultimately this is a game for everyone, not just folks in a certain skill range, so we need to handle those changes with care.
Thank you for detailed responce. I hope we can see more of very nice reworks/buffs to killers like Hillbilly where they went from being somewhat rare killer and hard to being popular, way more fun, better but still have some window of skill.
-
They have PTSD from her past. Most people hate her because its SM, not because of her power.

Pig is seemingly on a watch list since her last update that was almost a nerf.
I don't expect any changes to her any time soon, and am frankly glad about that.
She is still not great killer imo.

Freddy? Who is that? New killer or something? Don't know anyone with that name or kind of power.
